Cardi B Receives 21 Nominations For 2019 Billboard Awards
Salutations FM Trendsetters! Hope everyone had a great weekend, despite the Nipsey Hussle murder situation. However the hip hop world is not totally in loss. Fortunately, despite recent circumstances on her prior posts, Money rapper and Bronx favorite Cardi B was having an awesome weekend in Billboard nominations. The female hit maker received a monumental 21 nominations for the upcoming 2019 Billboard Awards! Clark productions and NBC studios announced the nominees in the 56 categories live on the Today show last Thursday, and via social media outlets.
Out of all the talented nominees, the Bronx bombshell leads all of them in the following categories: Top Selling Song, Top Collaboration and the infamous Top Hot 100 Song. The Bodak Yellow femcee missed the record of most by an artist by one nomination (Canadian rapper and singer Drake holds the record for most with his 22 nominations received at the Billboard Awards 2 years ago, thanks to the success of his world wide single, “Hotline Bling“).
Despite his record setting nominations from 2017, the Young Money artist came in this year with only 17 nominations, tied with White Iverson artist Post Malone. Travis Scott trails in third with his 12 nominations.
This year for the new Grammy Award winning Cardi B will definitely be a walk in the park. Ever since her debut album, the 2017 multi-platinum “Invasion Of Privacy“, she had 3 number one hits along with the album itself debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums List. The FM Feline, according to Billboard, is the fifth female rap artist to have a number one album on their list. With numerous appearances on other radio hit singles (second collaboration with Bruno Mars on “Please“, and the City Girls “Twerk” just to name a couple), Cardi B proves that her recent “drug-em-and-rob-em” drama, which went viral all over social media, is just a minor obstacle in her pathway of success. Congrats on the nominations Cardi!
