JAY-Z 4:44 Now Available On iTunes And Apple Music
Just when we got excited with the exclusive TIDAL release of Hova‘s 13th studio platinum album, 4:44, now everybody with an iTunes and Apple Music account can also enjoy the eclectic (yet controversial) project.
According to XXL magazine, the album was certified platinum in less than a week, and streams was not the case. Sprint paid for enough free downloads to equal “one million units sold” as reported, so much like its predecessor Magna Carta Holy Grail. As we already know in the past, TIDAL and Apple Music are competitive streaming services, along with Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited, and Google Play. But now, Jay released the executive “TIDAL Only” hold off the project, to make the album available and easier to download. As FADER magazinewould agree, we should not be surprised if the album is released through the other streaming services as well.
Fans also get to have a taste of the infamous three bonus tracks that are to be included with the iTunes release—”Adnis,” “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family,” and “ManyFacedGod.”
First track “Adnis” refers to his JAY-Z‘s father, Adnis Reeves. This track has been the most asked about among Hova‘s many fans and listeners. A thirty second sneak peak of this track was strategically featured in the dramatic trailer for the album, which featured award winning actors Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) and Mahershala Ali (Moonlight). You can see the trailer here.
The second track mentioned, “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family” literally has Jay and Bey‘s five year old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, making her rapping debut.
The third bonus track, “ManyFacedGod” is allegedly as controversial as the title proclaims.
