The artist Gunna hopped on social media today and shared a little of his wisdom.
Gunna’s Thoughts On The 9 To 5
It’s unorthodox to hear a different opinion in an industry where the fast life and making the big dollars are mass-marketed. But, in a social media post, Gunna shared his opinion on making an earnest living in a 9 to 5, and he keeps it as real as it gets.
In the words of Gunna,
“It’s Cool to work a 9-5 no Capp. Getting Money is Getting Money.”
Despite what naysayers may contend, Gunna has a point.
No Shame In Keeping It A Hundred
The world is full of people working 9-5’s, and like the artist, they grind hard for their checks. That is no less admirable. Without a doubt, it is refreshing to witness an artist give some credit to those grinding on a different playing field. Most have been there before, many are still there, and some will be there again. So, it’s no shame to earn income from honest work.
Gunna’s Non-Conformism
According to a source, this isn’t the first time the artist has been vocal about an issue that isn’t garnering mass support currently.
One may claim it fading or jumping on the bandwagon, but sticking it to record labels has become a trending topic. Labels were once glorified for their position in the industry and role in performers’ success. However, now, record labels have become a target of derision. And many artists have taken the position of lobbying against the labels’ overwhelming importance. However, Gunna proves he doesn’t ride the wave of conformity even on this topic.
In a conversation on an episode of “The Shop,” the performer broke his sentiments down like this,
“Some people be like ‘well fuck the labels we don’t need labels,’ but these like really business partners how I look at it. You shouldn’t say fuck the labels cause they taking a chance on you.”
Opinions Are Opinions
Is Gunna’s opinion unpopular? Well, for the time, perhaps so. Yet, that’s not a bad thing.
In a world of conformists, it’s always a breath of fresh air to find someone who has a differing view and isn’t afraid to stick to it. What would the world be if we all thought the same? And despite whom may or may not agree, Gunna’s sentiments have no less validity. So long live those who think for themselves and have a penchant for keeping it real.
