Behind-the-scenes footage of Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting for her “Thot Shit” music video went viral thanks to a (very) determined cameraman.
The clip captures Megan twerking as the cameraman holding on for dear life to get close-ups of the motions.
“Thot” Reclaimed
Before the BTS footage went viral, the MV was already dominating the charts. The video quickly shot up to number 1, trending on Youtube within hours of its release last Friday. The reason may rest in the video’s many explicit scenes, raunchy even for the W.A.P. superstar. Aside from gratuitous ass-shaking shots, Megan purposely included risque cinematic choices to send a message.
The music video opens with an old white politician sending Megan hate messages in a comments section online. Megan calls the politician, cusses him out, and hits him with a garbage truck. Megan’s ass follows the man everywhere he goes from then on, from grocery shopping to dinnertime.
The message is clear.
In response to a fan, Megan declared she’s reclaiming offensive words like “thot” and “hoe.”
“I’m really just talking shit and taking ownership of the words “thot” and “hoe” bc they’re not the drag the men think it is when trying to come at women for doing them,” Megan tweeted.
Typically used to bash women for being promiscuous, Megan ridicules the double-standard that men hold against women.
The provocative video, which currently has over 8 million views, has shocked both fans and celebrities.
Before the official MV release, DJ Khaled’s reaction to an early showing depicts the producer’s hopes for a “new world” in the music industry.
“Yo, they gon’ actually air this?” Khaled asked in the video. “It’s going on YouTube and all that? Nah! Yo. It’s a new world, and it’s definitely a new video. Let me tell you somethin’.”
