After the horrific shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, that occurred on Monday at the Covenant School, a private elementary school on the grounds of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville’s Green Hills neighborhood. More details on the shooting have since been revealed.

Body Footage Is Released From Shooting

The shooter has been identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, who was a former student of the school. Hale legally bought seven firearms from different stores, three of which she then used in the attack. Hale entered the school by shooting a glass door and crawling through it. The police received a call at 10:13 am local time, reporting an active shooter was at the school.

Body camera footage was released Tuesday from Officer Rex Engelbert, who was first seen grabbing a weapon from his vehicle. He then approached a woman in the building who seemed to be a staff member. She tells him that most of the kids were safe, but two of them were nowhere to be found. After Englebert and the other officers check the first two floors of the school, they encounter the shooter standing near a window. Engelbert fires four times, and the shooter falls to the ground.

Additional body footage from Officer Michael Collazo was also revealed. Collazo is also seen on the first floor with the other officers. Once they reached the atrium, Collazo was behind Englebert and proceeded to shoot Hale four times. Hale was killed at 10:27 am local time, 14 minutes after the initial call to the police.

The Victims

Three adults and three children were killed during the shooting. The children were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, who were all nine years old. The school’s janitor Mike Hill (61), substitute teacher Cynthia Peak (61), and Katherine Koonce, the head of the school, were the victims of the shooting. Koonce was 60 years old.
