Beyoncé has done it again. The world-renowned entertainer, fashion icon, and entrepreneur has expanded her empire into the beauty industry with the launch of her innovative haircare line, Cécred. In an exciting development, Cécred is now available for purchase at Ulta Beauty, bringing a range of high-quality products to shoppers looking for effective, luxurious haircare options. But this is not just about products on a shelf. Through this partnership, Beyoncé’s brand will offer exclusive salon treatments and special events at select Ulta locations, giving fans and beauty enthusiasts alike a chance to experience the brand firsthand.

Launched in February 2024, Cécred is a haircare brand that promises to cater to the diverse needs of hair, particularly focusing on curly, kinky, and coily hair textures. With a dedication to scientific formulations and high-end luxury, Cécred is setting a new standard for inclusive beauty in the haircare industry. Through its presence at Ulta Beauty, the line aims to make its products and treatments easily accessible to a wider audience, whether through in-store experiences or online shopping convenience.

A Brand Built by Beyoncé and Tina Knowles: The Ultimate Dream Team

When Beyoncé partners with someone, the result is often nothing short of spectacular, and Cécred is no exception. The brand was co-founded by Beyoncé and her mother, the legendary designer and stylist Tina Knowles, who have long been known for their impeccable sense of style and beauty. With their combined expertise and experience, they’ve created a line that not only addresses the unique needs of textured hair but does so with a deep understanding of luxury, self-care, and high-performance ingredients.

From the very beginning, Beyoncé and Tina knew they wanted Cécred to be more than just another celebrity brand. Their goal was to create a science-backed line of products that would specifically address the needs of people with curly, coily, and kinky hair types. Having experienced the struggles of finding effective, high-quality haircare products for textured hair, the duo set out to create something revolutionary—products that work and are accessible to everyone, no matter their hair type or background.

A Peek Inside Cécred’s Foundation Collection: Nourishment, Hydration, and Repair

The Foundation Collection from Cécred features an impressive lineup of products that are designed to cleanse, hydrate, nourish, and repair hair. Available for purchase at Ulta Beauty, the range offers a variety of shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, styling tools, and even travel-sized options. From Moisture Sealing Lotion to Nourishing Hair Oil and Restoring Hair & Edge Drops, Cécred has products that are meant to cater to every step of your haircare routine. Whether you need a deep hydration boost or a strength-boosting treatment, there is something in the collection for you.

What makes Cécred truly stand out is the fact that all of its products are dermatologist-tested and free from harmful ingredients like silicones, parabens, phthalates, and sulfates (SLS/SLES). The brand’s commitment to clean beauty is evident in the use of premium active ingredients such as biotin, biopeptide-5, and bioactive keratin, all of which work together to help restore hair health, strengthen individual strands, and promote growth.

Among the most popular items in the collection are the Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual, which is designed to repair and strengthen damaged hair, and the brand’s signature Temple Oud fragrance, which infuses every product with luxurious notes of oud, sandalwood, warm musk, and night-blooming jasmine. This elegant fragrance creates a relaxing and indulgent experience every time you apply Cécred to your hair.

Ulta Beauty’s Role in Expanding Cécred’s Reach

The collaboration between Cécred and Ulta Beauty is a significant moment for both the brand and the retailer. Ulta Beauty, a leader in the beauty industry, has given Cécred the platform it needs to reach a broader audience. Now available in Ulta’s stores nationwide and online, Cécred’s line of haircare products is accessible to millions of customers who may not have been able to experience the brand through its website alone.

In addition to shopping for products online or in stores, customers can take advantage of exclusive in-salon experiences at select Ulta Beauty locations. These in-store treatments will offer specialized services such as Scalp Revival and Protein Bounceback Treatments, both of which utilize Cécred’s products to enhance their benefits and help customers achieve their healthiest hair. This level of personalization is a key part of the brand’s mission to deliver high-quality, scientifically backed products and experiences that truly make a difference in the health of your hair.

Exclusive Deals and Offers at Ulta Beauty

To celebrate the launch of Cécred at Ulta Beauty, the retailer is offering an exciting limited-time promotion. Customers who purchase Cécred products will receive a free, limited-edition cosmetic bag as a gift with their purchase—an extra touch of luxury to go along with their new haircare routine. But this offer is only available while supplies last, so be sure to grab your Cécred products soon to take advantage of the free gift.

In addition to the cosmetic bag promotion, Cécred Sundays will kick off at Ulta Beauty on May 18. This weekly event will bring a new dimension to the shopping experience by offering customers the chance to participate in self-care rituals and exclusive salon services at select 200 Ulta Beauty locations. Whether you’re looking to rejuvenate your scalp with a specialized treatment or simply enjoy a pampering haircare experience, Cécred Sundays promises to be an unforgettable way to experience the brand.

What Are People Saying About Cécred? Early Reviews are Positive

The early buzz surrounding Cécred has been overwhelmingly positive, with many beauty enthusiasts praising the brand’s quality, luxury, and effectiveness. The Hollywood Reporter’s Anaja Smith recently reviewed the line, noting that the shampoos and conditioners not only provided a thorough cleanse but also left hair feeling hydrated and strong. The combination of ingredients in Cécred products was credited with boosting moisture levels while also strengthening the hair structure—an important factor in the health and appearance of textured hair.

Another common praise has been for the Temple Oud fragrance, which many reviewers describe as indulgent and elegant. Infused into every product, the signature scent transforms an ordinary haircare routine into a luxurious, spa-like experience. It’s this attention to detail that has elevated Cécred from a typical haircare brand to something truly special.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Cécred?

As Cécred continues to expand, the future looks incredibly promising. With Beyoncé at the helm, the brand is sure to attract even more attention from fans and beauty lovers around the world. The collaboration with Ulta Beauty is just the beginning, and there’s potential for future product lines that could include scalp treatments, supplements, and even hair accessories.

For now, Cécred remains dedicated to fulfilling its mission of providing science-backed, luxurious haircare that delivers results. By focusing on high-performance ingredients, clean beauty, and inclusivity, the brand is carving out a space for itself in the highly competitive beauty market. With its roots firmly planted in Beyoncé and Tina Knowles’ shared vision of beauty and self-care, Cécred is set to redefine the way we think about haircare.

Conclusion: Cécred’s Lasting Impact on the Beauty Industry

Beyoncé and Tina Knowles’ haircare line, Cécred, is making a lasting impact on the beauty industry. With a focus on luxury, inclusivity, and science-backed formulations, Cécred has already established itself as a game-changer for textured hair. The brand’s exclusive partnership with Ulta Beauty only enhances its reach, giving more customers the opportunity to experience the benefits of these high-quality products and treatments.

Whether you’re looking for a way to nourish your curls, repair damaged strands, or indulge in a relaxing self-care ritual, Cécred promises to offer something for everyone. As the brand continues to grow and evolve, it’s clear that Beyoncé and Tina Knowles are setting a new standard for beauty in the haircare space, one that puts both performance and luxury at the forefront.

The Country Crossover Of Beyoncé “Cowboy” Carter: Stirring The Pot Or Calculated Success

Beyoncé “Cowboy” Carter is making history as she makes waves in country music. She came into the game with a royal flush, and she’s not holding any of her cards. However, not everyone is receptive to her move or the success that has followed; this includes industry peer Lilly Allen. Some recent sentiments shared by Allen raise quite an eyebrow. The crucial question is whether Allen’s argument is valid.

Beyoncé “Cowboy” Carter: Breaking Boundaries with a Country Twist

Beyoncé is known for her performance style, work ethic, business acumen, and strategic moves in the music industry. One thing the artist attempts not to do is remain mediocre. Her constant pursuit of innovation is well known to her devoted followers. Thus, her foray into the country genre wasn’t too unexpected. But not everyone is jibing, especially since her dive-in has been more than a little successful.

Breaking Down the Crossover Craze

Crossovers are not a secret. Music artists have been crossing over for years. Some of the names that have been able to cross successfully are not so unfamiliar. According to American Songwriter, the list includes the likes of Taylor Swift, Bee-Gees, Michael Bolton, Katy Perry, and the Beastie Boys.

If crossovers are commonplace, why is there such a stir? Perhaps it is due to Beyoncé’s level of stardom in the R&B/pop arena and her transition to country music. However, this argument also doesn’t hold water, as several artists have crossed over from other genres to country music. Variety lists some of those who have managed to do so as follows: Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie, Jessica Simpson, Millie Jackson, The Pointer Sisters, Ray Charles, and Darius Rucker.

Sentiments on Beyoncé’s Shift: Valid Concern or Sour Grapes

While Beyoncé’s move is not generally atypical, she has ruffled a lot of feathers doing so, and one person in particular has been outspoken about it. According to Us, Lilly Allen has called out Beyoncé for her leap into country music. The fellow artist recently called the crossover “quite calculated.” She went on to explain how she believed that Jay-Z’s speech at the Grammys was part of a promotional strategy to attract attention to Beyoncé’s new album. So, is she wrong?

The Truth Behind the Critique

No, Lilly Allen is correct, even though her sentiments sound bitter. However, that does not take away from Beyoncé’s talent, her perspective, her expression, or her success. It’s no secret that success in the industry hinges on promotion. If one doesn’t promote themselves, who will?

Secondly, any successful strategist or entrepreneur makes calculated moves. Allen would be right in her assessment of Beyoncé switching to country music, whether it be for one album or several, as a calculated move that has ultimately been successful from its inception. Recent press releases confirm this. As recently released from Pop Crave on “X,” formerly Twitter, “Beyoncé earns the biggest opening week of 2024 in the US with ‘COWBOY CARTER’ (407K units).”

Unpacking Lily Allen’s Motives

Many interpret Allen’s statement as snarky or even underhanded. However, that sentiment alone does not prove it. So, is Allen expressing petty behavior or a twinge of jealousy? Some publications are leaning toward jealousy, as it is being reported that Lilly Allen is releasing her own country album later this year. This might very well explain Allen’s animus. While it is true that her initial statement may not be pointed enough to convey her distaste, some other things Allen expressed tell a different story.

As Us reports, Allen was saying, “Now Beyoncé is the most played woman on country music, she added before criticizing the multiple Grammy-winner’s decision to cover Dolly Parton’s 1973 smash hit “Jolene.” Allen also claimed Beyoncé’s cover is weird: “It’s very weird that you’d cover the most successful songs in that genre.”

But from what rational basis is this derived? What is wrong with any artist covering someone else’s work if they have permission to do so? As such, one has plenty to go on to make a judgment on Allen’s intent.

The Success of Beyoncé “Cowboy” Carter: Shrugging Off the Critics

By now, Beyoncé understands there will be haters. Beyoncé is no stranger to the challenges faced in the business world, particularly when one ventures beyond their comfort zone. In this case, if Allen is not disrupting Knowles’ cash flow, it’s simply an opinion that can be brushed off.

So, let us know what you think: Should Beyoncé care about Lilly Allen’s claims?

As these tours continue to captivate audiences, they redefine the concert experience and solidify their positions as influential forces within the music industry.”

Other ongoing tours that might have a chance to do so, but their chances are smaller, are Beyoncé’s “Renaissance tour” with odds of 66/5, implied probability: 7.04%, and Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” with odds of 100/1, implied probability: 0.99%.”

Cities And Dates Of Tour Stops

The tour consists of six stops around the state. His home in Louisville, Kentucky is not included on the list. However, he did announce where the six shows will take place. Jack Harlow At Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour Stop

Harlow is hopefully coming in full-effect for his home state tour. He was just at the Renaissance show last month with his mom, where he introduced her to Beyonce. The Houston singer was seen holding a gift bag in a photo with the rapper and his mom. I’m sure the Louisville rapper found inspiration from the musical icon’s performance. We’ll be looking forward to seeing videos of the actor showing off his moves.

Beyoncé Performs New Version Of “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)” After Lizzo Lawsuit News

Lizzo has been sued by three former dancers – Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez – who claims the singer sexually harassed them and it created a hostile work environment. The lawsuit is already creating a ripple effect as a huge supporter of Lizzo has somewhat reacted to the bombshell allegations. Iconic singer and performer Beyoncé skipped her usual shoutout to Lizzo and replaced her name with musical legend Erykah Badu.

Music Legend Erykah Badu Throws Shade At Queen Bey

Apparently, this is killing two birds with one stone as Badu has thrown shade at the Houston singer. Erica Abi Wright, known as Erykah Badu, reportedly took to her Instagram story and shared a snap of Bey and her daughter Blue in matching outfits. However, the dynamic mother-daughter duo was also in the Dallas singer’s “favorite chrome mirror hat.” Badu also added, “I guess I’m everyone’s stylist.”

The New Lyrics Presented At the Massachusetts Renaissance Tour Stop

Beyoncé has not directly responded to the icon, but she may have finally done with this new rendition of “Break My Soul (Queens Remix).” The Renaissance remix track is originally known with these lyrics, “Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl.” But last night during her Renaissance show Mrs. Carter replaced the original lyrics with “Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu.” Plus the Destiny’s Child singer did not mention her former bandmate Kelly Rowland, Lauryn Hill, and Roberta Flack.

Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Lizzo

The complaint against Lizzo was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday. The “Juice” singer’s production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. (BGBT) is also named in the suit. A plaintiff describes battling with the rapper’s concerns about the dancer’s “weight gain,” according to CNN who have access to the lawsuit. Also, the captain of Lizzo’s dance team is accused of ridiculing those who had premarital sex.

Step into your glamorous shoes – or boots, in this case – and shine like a silver diamond! Who’s ready to slay?

The Spokesperson’s Insight: Capturing The Essence Of Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour

Nasty Gal‘s spokesperson commented on the findings: “Beyoncé’s highly anticipated Renaissance tour is finally upon us, and for those fans lucky enough to get their hands on the coveted tickets, the perfect Beyoncé-inspired outfit is also needed for the night.

“Google searches for the term ‘Renaissance tour outfits’ have increased by 658% in the past seven days, suggesting that the first night of the tour has urged fans to look for outfit inspiration that reflects the Renaissance album’s futuristic-cowboy aesthetic. These increases in searches tell us exactly what everyone is wearing to the tour, with many fans wanting to emulate Beyoncé iconic and daring style, so expect to see plenty of chromatic cowboy boots, head-to-toe silver, and disco-embellished cowboy hats on your tour date.”

Pardison Fontaine Seems To Address Megan Thee Stallion Split Rumors

Pardison Fontaine addresses his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion in a new poem. It seems he did not exactly dedicate the somewhat love letter to Meg but mentioned the struggle of this mystery woman – which sounded similar to a popular rapper we all know. The poem was read at Da Poetry Lounge.

Pardi’s Emotional Poem

He said this poem is about another “beautiful woman he knows.” Jorden ‘Pardi’ Thorpe’s line “you’re a survivor, but not a victim; somewhere in between ‘God forgive him’ and ‘I gotta get him,'” really stood out as a reference to Megan Pete. Thorpe then added, “If you need me, girl, I’m at your service.”

Rumors Spreading About A Split Between The Pair

Rumors have been spreading on social media about the status of their relationship. Both Pardi and Megan unfollowed each other on Instagram but then apparently shared heart shapes shots on Valentine’s Day this year.

The New York rapper has been with the Houston hottie for more than two years now. The pair have been dealing with breakup rumors since a couple of months after their second anniversary in October 2022. Thee Stallion didn’t wish Pardi a happy birthday, and then she allegedly put her hands on the songwriter. However, Fontaine shut that down with an Instagram story.

Pardi and Meg reportedly met while working on “Savage (Remix)” ft. Queen Bey. He has writing credits on the song (the writer is also known for working with Kanye WestCardi B, and Stefflon Don). This led to Pardison’s work on “WAP,” which was a Cardi B and Meg collaboration, and the rest was history.

Tory Lanez’s Motion Denied

This is amid Tory Lanez being denied a new trial for shooting the “Sweetest Pie” rapper. The Canadian singer was convicted of three felonies in December for shooting her in the feet and wounding her. He is possibly facing more than 20 years in prison and deportation to his native country, Canada. Daystar Peterson, Tory’s legal name, will be sentenced for convictions of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded plus unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Calypso Legend And Civil Rights Icon Harry Belafonte’s Influence on Hip-Hop

Today we lost a legend, a civil rights icon, and a musical pioneer.

Harry Belafonte died at the age of 96 on April 25, 2023 of congestive heart failure in his New York City home.

Harry Belafonte’s Musical Influence

Belafonte was known for his influence on folk and blues, but was most known for making calypso music popular. However, the Harlem native made an imprint on hip-hop culture as well.

1984 Hip-Hop Film “Beat Street,” Which Belafonte Was The Executive Producer

The “Jump In The Line” singer executive produced Beat Street. Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five wrote the theme song for the 1984 hip-hop film.

It was one of the first movies, which starred Guy Davis and Jon Chardiet, about break-dancing and hip-hop culture. It focused on an aspiring DJ from the Bronx and his best friend, a promoter. The pair tried to get into the industry by educating people on hip-hop and the culture of the genre.

He even helped bring three of hip-hop’s earliest female rappers together for a vital part in the movie, MC She Rock, Debbie D., and Lisa Lee.

DVD cover of 1984 Beat Street. Image source: Etsy.

The Legend’s Hits Sampled On Hip-Hop Records

Hip-hop artists have also sampled the legend’s music. Pitbull, T-Pain, and Sean Paul’s “Shake Senora,” Doja Cat’s “Won’t Bite” featuring Smino, and Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot, 7 Foot” featuring Cory Gunz.

In addition, Jason Derulo’s pop hit “Don’t Wanna Go Home” – samples the calypso singer’s “Day-O (Banana Boat Song).”

Harry Vs. Jay-Z

Belafonte has even had a feud with Jay-Z about handling social issues.

We know the civil rights icon worked with the great Martin Luther King Jr. – so of course he was not holding back on the New York rapper.

The entertainer said in 2012 before concluding their beef in 2015, “I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities. But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay Z and Beyoncé, for example.”

Hov’s response was a diss in a song and talking about his prescence being “charity.”

“We Are The World,” With The Help Of Harry Belafonte

Harry Belafonte was a trailblazer that played an important part in history.

He worked on iconic song, “We Are The World.” Many know that Quincy Jones was the mastermind behind the charity single, but Belafonte was a key part in the preparation. Attention art fanatics! On Wednesday, April 12, Mana Contemporary lit up the art world by launching two amazing exhibits, “Out of Character” and “From the Feet Up: 50 Years of Sneaks & Beats.” These impressive exhibitions exceeded the typical norms of fine art, showcasing the remarkable creative power of vision and innovation.

“From the Feet Up: 50 Years of Sneaks & Beats” – A Riveting Celebration Of Sneaker Culture And Hip-Hop

“From the Feet Up: 50 Years of Sneaks & Beats” was a fantastic exhibit put together by Sean Williams that honored the exciting blend of sneaker culture and Hip-Hop. The show displayed famous sneakers created and worn by well-known rappers and sports stars. You could see legendary names like Tupac, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, and Beyonce being featured. In addition, the exhibit also highlighted the progress of sneaker design, focusing on how technology advancements and sustainability practices have influenced the industry over the last 50 years.

Sneaker design has come a long way since its inception. Initially, it was designed purely for athletic purposes. However, sneaker design has evolved to solve numerous challenges, ranging from comfort to aesthetics.

Moreover, the growth of the sneaker industry has often been fueled by small yet critical innovations. These creations have improved the overall functionality of sneakers and contributed to groundbreaking inventions. In fact, sneakers have become the ideal medium for introducing new ideas and pushing the boundaries of design.

Over the past fifty years, the sneaker industry has seen remarkable growth. This is primarily attributed to the increasing popularity of Hip-Hop and sneaker cultures.

The influence of these cultures has helped to popularize sneaker brands and elevate them to new heights. Furthermore, major technological advancements have played an essential role in transforming these industries into multibillion-dollar enterprises. As a result, sneakers have become more than just a fashion statement; they have become a powerful economic force.

“Out of Character” – The Evolution Of Animation As A Fine Art

Prepare to be amazed by the incredible exhibition “Out of Character”! Firstly, this display takes you on a journey through the intriguing development of identity through stylized and unique symbolic artwork, which is presented in various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and moving animation.

Co-curated by Pierogi Gallery and Willy Hartland, this art show was an absolute must-see for anyone interested in the historical context of animation. Furthermore, “Out of Character” is a captivating journey from when animations were seen as just “cartoons” to their recognition as a basic form of fine art. As such, this exhibition perfectly showcases the incredible evolution of this art form, making it a must-visit for all art enthusiasts.

To begin with, early animations and funny artworks were largely disregarded as fine art. Nevertheless, the emergence of Pop Art in the 1960s and the inclusion of cartoon styles by artists like Lichtenstein marked a significant turning point. As a result, boundaries and divisions within the art world were broken down. However, the animations showcased in “Out of Character” are incredibly diverse in subjects, styles, media, and techniques. These include stop-motion, hand-drawn images, computer software, “lo-tech,” flip books, and even live performance projection. Even though some works reference cartoons, they are not solely corporate franchise products. Instead, they are original and individual creations.

Which Renowned Artists’ Creations Appeared In The “Out of Character’s” Exhibit?

“Out of Character” features the works of famous artists such as Greg Barsamian, David Brody, Nicole Claveloux, Hugo Crosthwaite, R. Crumb, Brian Dewan, Nicole Eisenman, James Esber, Matt Freedman, Drew Friedman, George Griffin, Red Grooms, Willy Hartland, Jaime Hernandez, Emily Hubley, Darina Karpov, Lisa LaBracio, Andy London, Carolyn London, Matt Marello, William McKearn, Morgan Miller, Caroline Mouris, Frank Mouris, Michaela Müller, Gary Panter, Joyce Pensato, Pes, Anna Samo, David Scher, Guy Richards Smit, Kathy Stecko, Nate Theis, Jim Torok, Martin Wilner, and S. Sean Williams – A Visionary In The Sneaker Industry

At the tender age of 13, Sean Williams, a Brooklyn native, fell in love with sneakers. By 15, he was already buying his own pairs. But that was just the beginning! In 2007, Williams co-founded Obsessive Sneaker Disorder (OSD) LLC, an organization that strives to “Appreciate, Educate, Elevate” the sneaker industry. What a visionary!

Sean is serious about inspiring and pushing younger generations to pursue careers in the industry. He has dedicated himself to this mission, and his hard work has not gone unseen. In fact, he has been featured in many publications, TV shows, and websites. For example, Maxim and Complex magazine have named him to their list of “50 Most Influential People in Sneakers Right Now.” This honor is thanks to Williams’s impact on the industry and his endless efforts to inspire and motivate the next generation of sneakerheads.

But wait, there’s more! In 2018, he was named the first-ever Rankin Scholar in sneaker culture at Drexel University, a testament to his expertise and dedication to the industry. He even co-curated the first-ever Hip-Hop apparel and sneaker exhibition in New York City, which over 9.8 million people viewed. Now that’s what I call making a lasting impact!

To top it off, Business Insider recognized Williams on their “Power List: 28 Most Outstanding People of Color Transforming the Sneaker Industry” in 2020. This shows that Williams’ hard work and effort have not gone unnoticed. His contributions to the sneaker industry are truly remarkable. Plus, his passion and drive will inspire many more individuals in the coming years.

FX’s Atlanta Creator Donald Glover’s Sad Reaction After Season Three Backlash

Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, has become a household name. His work ranges from making hit tracks like “This is America” to co-starring with Rihanna in Guava Island to his latest project Amazon Prime’s “Swarm.”

Donald Glover’s Creative Playground Explained

Glover recently was the center of a GQ piece, giving all the juicy details of “his creative playground.”

He got emotional about FX’s Atlanta’s season 3 reception and talked about the points he was trying to make in the show.

The publication touched on Jordan Peele helping the “Atlanta” creator get Liam Neeson on an episode. Plus, the reception of the four seasons of the iconic show with some guest stars like Neeson, Chet Hanks, Migos, Katt Williams, and the late Kevin Samuels.

Atlanta Season Three Backlash And Decline In Viewership

The show always found a way to be weird and quirky and maintain individuality — while honoring Black culture.

However, it seems the Grammy-winning artist did not take the reception well of the third season.

“It was widely received as too weird. Confusing. Try-hard. It didn’t only push people away, it upset them,” Childish Gambino mentions to GQ.

Season 3 reportedly hit a more than 60% decline in viewership.

Glover’s Response To The Backlash

Swarm’s executive producer defends the season calling it, “one of the most original seasons of TV ever.”

Glover further explained, “What season three of “Atlanta” revealed is that it’s nearly impossible for a Black public figure to be successfully critical of Black America when they’re a person who white America doesn’t find intimidating.”

Glover was also “very sad” by the backlash he received. Gambino even admitted to the publication that he “cried.”

What’s Season Three About?

The third season takes place in Europe as Paper Boi tours the region. The four friends try to adjust to the temporary new normal but have some trouble doing so.

It also came four years after the second season, which possibly played a part in the cold reception.
