Azaelia Banks Praises Florida’s Governor

Azaelia Banks says she feels safer in Florida than in California. In a recent interview, she chastized the media for demonizing Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis.

Last week, The Guardian did an interview with Banks. They talked about many different topics, from Kanye West’s antisemitism to her recent move to Florida.

Her move is due to the pandemic. She began to see politics in Los Angeles as just shallow virtue signaling. She saw the city as something that only pretended to care about people. Banks saw the Black Lives Matter movement as something too narrow. Only worrying about black people while Latinos die due to them being considered social workers. She knew that if she was going to stay in LA, then she is going to die either from covid or depression. So she decided to move to Miami.

Why Banks chose Florida

According to Banks, the reason why she chose Miami is because of 3 reasons. People mind their business more in Florida, it is safer than LA, and because she gels with the politics that Desantis proclaims. She likes him because she feels that he has common decency.

DeSantis is a conservative Republican. Most of his actions within the political world have been conservative and applauded by other conservatives. He is currently in the running for the 2024 presidential elections. The big thing that DeSantis did that Banks would base her opinion, based on her comment, is the Individual Freedom Act (also known as the Stop WOKE Act). The act was designed to protect Floridians from discrimination and “woke indoctrinations”.

Azaelia Banks has decided to move to Miami, and it appears that she is happier there than over in California. That is the important thing. A happy artist makes more music, better. That is all fans can wish for.

Ab-Soul’s First Time Giving In-Depth Details On Past Suicide Attempt

Top Dawg Entertainment Rapper Ab-Soul gives heavy details for the first time about attempting to take his own life. Ab-Soul spoke with Charlamagne Tha God in a in depth interview prior to his new album, Herbert, released today on December 16.

The road to Ab-Soul’s incident

He jumped off of a freeway overpass in Carson, California also known as his hometown. A vape addiction is partially what led to the suicide attempt. Ab-Soul born as Herbert Stevens IV said he is addicted to cigarettes, but hopes to quit one day. He took on the alternative of vaping, since it was promoted as a safer choice than cigarettes, but he later realized it is not. “It is causing severe anxiety and depression…. I never understood depression until this,” he explained to Charlamagne. Ab-Soul does not even want to be in a room with any types of vape. He said he has been better than he’s ever been.

However, the TDE artist described the injuries he gained from “his incident,” he didn’t like to use the word ‘suicide.’ He preached that he is not in denial but would like to refer to the suicide attempt as an “incident.” The bruises from the jump left him almost unable to walk, lost his teeth, and some other wounds that he are still recovering from. Ab-Soul said in the interview he completed the album before the incident.

‘Herbert’ New Album

The long-awaited fifth studio LP has features from artists like SiR and Big Sean. The rapper said he took so long because it was important for him to take a step back and the last album was a lot. “I was getting lost in theory versus actually trying to create good art,” the Carson-native said in his interview.

It is always a heavy time to talk about suicide, but the dance community and those who were fans of The Ellen Show may know we just lost a popular figure, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss because of it.

Ab-Soul thankfully took time to recover from his physical and mental injuries. The California Rapper spoke on being an advocate for mental health and mentioned he is no longer suicidal.

Inside Haunting 911 Call After Aaron Carter is Found Dead

Actor, singer, and performer Aaron Carter died of unknown circumstances at 34 years old in his Lancaster home.

Unfortunately for the singer’s housekeeper, she was the one to discover the gruesome scene.

TMZ has gained an audio recording of the exact moments Aaron Carter’s housekeeper found him unresponsive in the bathtub. In the clip, The woman can be heard screaming and clearly upset. A 911 operator then beckoned EMS and fire officials to the house for a “female yelling” and specified the injured party was “in the tub”.

Despite the urgent call, Carter was already dead when paramedics arrived. While rumors have been flying around since the actor’s death, officials still haven’t confirmed an official cause. Aaron Carter’s long history of substance abuse is an obvious suspect in his sudden passing, but for now, the police are still working.

Carter’s fiancé and mother to his son, Melanie Martin communicated with TMZ following the report of his death. “My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father.” She stated. “Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

Sibling Speaks Up

Martin isn’t the only loved one speaking out. Aarons’s older brother and member of The Backstreet Boys Nick Carter posted a heartfelt tribute to his late brother on Instagram this Sunday.

A post shared by Nick Carter (@nickcarter)

“My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.” He typed.

“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz., now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth….God, Please take care of my baby brother.”

Aaron Carter was only 34 years old.

A Hint Appears

California Law enforcement have found several cans of compressed air in Aaron Carter’s home. The cans were scattered across the bathroom and bedroom floor. In addition to this, prescription pills were also found inside the house. Police still aren’t releasing an official cause of death, but the excess of substances points to an obvious conclusion.

According to police, Carter’s body had been in the tub for quite some time before he was discovered. There were no signs of foul play found.

Two Suspects Arrested In Connection To Slim 400 Murder

Police are finally making arrests following the 2021 murder of California rapper Vincent Cohran, commonly known as Slim 400.

RIP Slim 400

Slim 400’s murder took place on Dec 8 last year. The incident occurred in a driveway on the 8600 block of 7th Avenue, Inglewood, CA, around 8:00 pm. In a video caught by a front door security cam, a suspect can clearly be seen holding a gun while approaching 400’s vehicle. Gunshots ring out in the clip as the 34-year-old struggles with the gunman. Following the video, Slim 400 went to a nearby hospital, later sadly pronounced dead.

Of course, this devastated fans and loved ones of the “Word is Bond” artist. Sadly, shootings amongst rising stars in the rap world are all too common. However, at least Slim’s supporters can sigh relief knowing his case isn’t going cold.

Police closing in

The Inglewood police arrested a man and a woman by this Thursday regarding the shooting. Although the authorities haven’t revealed the names and faces of this pair, they confirmed to apprehend the couple through a search warrant. Inglewood Law enforcement previously informed TMZ that they’re investigating the murder as “gang-related.”

Currently, there are no further developments on the possibility of this. According to the TMZ report, there’s been an increased police presence in Inglewood to prevent retaliation killings. So hopefully, the peace will prevail for now.

Slim 400 first started rapping at the ripe age of 12. He connected with fellow west coast artists YG and DJ Mustard after signing to Pushaz Ink in 2008. Since then, Slim continuously made a name for himself within the California music scene. Namely, songs like “Call it a Go” and “Brussin” helped Slim 400 rise to fame. He is survived by his daughter Parris and is fondly remembered.

LAPD Reveals Weapon Intended For Dave Chappelle

Comedian Dave Chappelle performs at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (May 3) unbeknownst his life was at risk. As Chappelle continues his set, an attacker body slams the comedian midway through his speech. The perpetrator, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee of Los Angeles attacks intending to brutally harm the comedian with a weapon.

Lee manages to slip past security with his weapon. LAPD reveal Lee’s weapon of choice on Instagram. It appears as a real gun to the naked eye. However, the weapon at hand was a pseudo gun with an extended knife blade coming out of the barrel. The perpetrator made it free and clear through the entrance metal detectors as well.

Following the attack, comedian Chris Rock who performed before Dave came on the stage and humorously said, “Was that Will Smith?” His joke is in reference to the Oscar incident where Will Smith assaults Chris Rock after making an offensive joke about his wife Jada Pickett-Smith. Chris Rock making light of the situation eases the crowd, alongside Chapelle cracking jokes on the attacker as well.

Consequently, Lee endures a full-throttle beating by Chappelle’s security personnel. As a result, the offender was is out on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Photographers capture Lee completely covered in blood. Lee’s injuries display a bloody nose, broken arm, a swollen right eye, and numerous bruises.

The offender is an aspiring rapper who goes by NoName Trapper. His music on Spotify has over 5,000 monthly listeners and he also has a song named “Dave Chappell.” The vendetta remains unclear as to why he attacked the famed comedian. However, Chapelle has been on his mind for quite some time. Speculators conclude he is trying to push forth his career motive.

Criminal Charge

While career recognition is not the direct result of his actions, a record is. Lee is charged with felony assault of a deadly weapon. Now, Lee is held at the Los Angeles County jail and his bail is set at $30,000.

The Game Denies Receiving Help From 50 Cent, “50 did not put me on.”

The Game and 50 Cent have a checkered past, to say the least. Recently, the Cali rapper is telling his side of things.

The Game goes all the way back

Compton native The Game has had a very vocal past few months. From social commentary to music, the 42-year-old is clearly outspoken. Earlier this week (Apr 7) during an Instagram live convo with Fat Joe, Game walked down the G-Unit memory lane.

G-Unit was a rap group created by 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo in 2002. During its 12 year run, G-Unit amassed a dedicated fanbase, and some impressive sales metrics to match. Their debut album Beg For Mercy initially sold a respectable 377,000 copies within its first week. now, it’s certified platinum with over 6 million copies sold worldwide. In addition to being an instrumental element of New York rap history, G-Unit is also where The Game got his big break. Even so, it seems the ‘All Eyez’ rapper wants to distance himself from his past.

“I was in a group with those n-ggas, but I wasn’t breaking peanut butter jelly sandwiches in half with them” he said to Fat Joe. “I didn’t see them n-ggs until it was time to work. A lot of people like, ‘N-gga, 50 put you on.’ No, 50 did not put me on.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by the Jasmine BRAND (@thejasminebrand)

He continued, “People don’t understand that. At that time in L.A., I was it. I was the n-gga. That’s why Jimmy (Iovine) took me and told 50 he was putting me in G-Unit. And 50 accepted it because my name was ringing bells in the streets of Hip Hop.”

How to hold a grudge

The Game’s time in G-Unit certainly had its ups and downs. Some of his biggest hits were during his time in the group. Tracks like ‘How We Do’ and ‘Hate it or Love it’ have lasted the test of time. However, Game and 50 have consistently bumped heads. Their battle first began in 2005 when 50 publicly fired Game from G-Unit during a Hot 97 radio interview. “he’s gone” he stated simply. That’s already bad enough, but things got really ugly later in the day when The Game tried to enter the Hot 97 station. The struggle between entourage and security quickly got hectic. One of the men accompanying Game was shot in the leg while 50 quietly snuck out the backdoor.

Since that altercation, it’s been nothing but diss tracks and social media jabs between the two. ‘300 bars and runnin’ by Game and ‘So Disrespectful’ by 50 are just two examples. ‘Play The Game’, ‘Mr. Potato Head’, ‘I’m Not Rich’, ‘I’m Still Lyin’, ‘240 Bars’, ‘Stop Cryin’, ‘100 Bars’, ‘Rap City Freestyle’, ‘Show Time’, and ‘Love, Hate, Love’ are all tracks birthed from this beef. And that’s still just scratching the surface.

A 17 year-long battle

Most recently, the pair came to blows on Instagram over a shady snub at a Lakers game. Back in March, the Queens emcee mocked Game for getting ignored by Jimmy Iovine in an awkward video.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom)

“LOL The man didn’t even look at him,” he typed. “Get this guy out of here 50 wrote the records. LMFAO.”

Of course, the Doctors Advocate rapper didn’t take this lying down. He fired back, claiming he didn’t notice Iovine. He also took shots at 50’s departure from the music scene.  “ N-gga, I ain’t even see Mr. Burns, If you wrote my records … write you one today and put it out n-gga!” He responded.

“Your rap career died wit them loli pop strap tank tops … you a actor, [and] that’s why you ran to tv […] leave this rap shit to n-ggas who can spell correctly and actually got bars, goofy n-gga!”

From 2005 to 2022, this just might be the longest beef in rap history. Frankly, it doesn’t seem like there’s an end in sight for this duo.

Drakeo The Ruler Affiliate, Says YG Set Up His Murder

Drakeo The Ruler’s mother, Darrylene Corniel, is fresh off an interview with Rolling Stone alerting the public of legal action. Corniel shared that she suspects YG of playing a part in her son’s death.

Today, an affiliate of Drakeo, K7 The Finesser, shares the same suspicion. A video revealing the moments before the stabbing shows men wearing 4Hunnid merchandise. 4Hunnid is YG’s brand.

K7 confirms some things Corniel told Rolling Stone. Significantly, YG’s crew was allowed backstage with 70 people. However, Drakeo was only allowed 15 people on his team. They were all checked for weapons before going inside. Drakeo’s coming success was a gateway for hate in this instance.

https://twitter.com/GrindFaceTV/status/1472766146952634369?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1472766146952634369%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ffmhiphop.com%2Fdrakeo-the-rulers-mother-wants-justice-for-his-death%2F

Got Beef? Drakeo & YG

It is no doubt that Drakeo was next up in the Los Angeles rap game. In many videos, Drakeo expressed his frustrations with the rap game. His frustrations stemmed from being an independent artist and not receiving his deserved recognition. It was because he was new on the scene. At the same time, talks of him being “broke” were what shoved him into proving himself.

Drakeo and YG had many words exchanged via interviews and neighborhood diss. DJ Mustard had a hand in Drakeo hitting the scene in 2015. After leaving DJ Mustard’s label, he became an independent rapper, subsequently releasing his mixtape Cold Devil.

YG appeared on No Jumper earlier this year and expressed his views on rap beef resulting from diss tracks. In this chill interview, he said, “All that rap beef and all that sh*t…we not rap beefin, we really beefin.” YG’s concern with the younger rap generation stems from social media taunting.

Given that this interview went viral, Drakeo responded on Instagram live by playing his song. He expressly chimes in, “A rap ni**a gon get swiss cheesd say one mo’ thang.”

Drakeo’s last Instagram post just hours before the festival was quite alarming. Wack 100 weighed in on clubhouse, stating, ” The gang politics in Cali are out of order.”

Drakeo The Ruler’s Mother Wants Justice For His Death

Drakeo The Ruler’s death was the result of a sudden stabbing at the Once Upon A Time festival in L.A. Darrylene Corniel, Drakeo’s mother is out for justice. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, she is planning to take legal action. She shared, “We plan to sue. This happened backstage at an event. Someone has to be held accountable.”

At her Los Angeles residence, Corniel gave a chilling rundown of what she was told took place that night.

Drakeo was scheduled to perform and was accompanied by a small group, including his brother Ralfy the Plug. A reported influx “like 40 to 60 people” arrived around the same time as Compton rapper YG and “swamped” her son and his crew.

According to Corniel, “Everything just happened so quickly,” she said. “They started trying to jump them.” She said Devonte (Ralphy The Plug) tried to protect his brother: “He was trying to fight, but when he turned around, he could see his brother with blood gushing out of him.”

Although she credits pride as playing a part in this tragedy, she incites the failure of security to do their jobs.  “It is such a shame how much jealousy and envy can make people stoop to such low tactics to try to destroy another individual because of fame and progress,” she said. “When you start getting up there, people start getting intimidated. So, I believe, once his platform started going higher, people started getting upset.”

A mothers love

It is unfortunate that a parent has to bury their child. The “senseless act of violence is a reoccurring thing in hip hop. Just so, it leaves the family of the victims to pick up the pieces. She shares the aftermath of seeing her son saying,

“He was hit in his neck. I saw him when I went to the hospital. They said it’s a homicide, so I wasn’t able to hug him or kiss him or anything like that. I had to look at him through a window.”

“I will not rest until justice is served.”

Once Upon A Time…

The Once Upon A Time In L.A. festival was to be a night celebrating music. The festival featured the finest the industry had to offer. With a heavy lineup consisting of acts by 50 Cent, Al Green, YG, Ice Cube, and The Game, entertainment was all but guaranteed. Live Nation hosted the concert at the Banc of California Stadium in L.A.’s Exposition Park. In a statement, Live Nation said the fatal incident happened “in a roadway backstage” and that it caused the festival to end an hour early.

What’s more, Live Nation is amid a sea of lawsuits from Astroworld victims. Fox recently shared that the entertainment company has a lawsuit ridden history. As a result, Live Nations stock plummeted following the tragic Astroworld festival.

Music festival safety is now a top priority for organizers, and a worry for the public. With footage of the incident rotating, it is clear that security competency is a reoccurring issue. While many speculate YG’s involvement, it has not yet been confirmed.

https://twitter.com/GrindFaceTV/status/1472766146952634369?s=20

We send our condolences to Drakeo’s family at this time.
