Frank Ocean’s Second Weekend Coachella Cancellation Triggered Massive Refund Searches

In the world of music festivals, Coachella is one of the most anticipated events of the year, drawing thousands of attendees worldwide. However, the excitement turned into disappointment for many fans after news broke that Frank Ocean would no longer be performing during the festival’s second weekend. According to an analysis of Google search data by casino experts CasinoAlpha.com, searches for ‘Coachella refund’ surged 697% worldwide within hours of the announcement. The search spike suggests that many ticket holders sought compensation after Frank Ocean’s cancellation.

Ocean’s first performance during the festival’s first weekend was already tainted with controversy as he arrived on stage over an hour late and abruptly ended his set due to a supposed ‘curfew.’

Despite the disappointment of many fans, one of Frank Ocean’s representatives confirmed that the second cancellation was due to a leg injury he sustained during the first week of the festival. A representative for the singer confirmed that medical professionals had advised Frank Ocean not to perform due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.

Frank Ocean Cancels Coachella Performance Due To Injury, Blink-182 Steps In As Replacement”

Unlike other performances, the show was not live-streamed on the Coachella YouTube channel, which also caused disappointment for fans who couldn’t attend the event.

However, despite initial dissatisfaction among fans, American rock band Blink-182 has replaced Ocean, according to Variety. Ocean, for his part, expressed his appreciation for the audience, saying, “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

When Music Meets Ice: The Unforgettable Performance That Almost Was

Imagine this – a musician performing on an ice skating rink instead of a traditional stage at a concert or festival. It may seem like an unconventional choice, but the idea is undeniably intriguing. Not only does the serene scenery of ice add to the ambiance, but the challenge of performing on skates creates a different level of excitement.

The “White Ferrari” singer was about to perform on a custom-built ice rink with over 100 skaters swirling around him in perfect harmony. An experience like no other was in store for the audience – a true feast for the senses. But unfortunately, fate had other plans. Concerns about Ocean’s injury led to the dismantling of the stage hours before the show, leaving fans disappointed and confused.

However, 30 skaters dressed to the nines in custom Prada outfits and detailed face paint still took the stage, saving the show from being a total loss. They dazzled the audience with their creativity and flair, adding an unexpected twist to an already extraordinary spectacle.

Coachella Attendance May Decline Following Frank Ocean’s Cancellation, Says Industry Expert

A representative from CasinoAlpha.com states that the Coachella festival attracts music enthusiasts and celebrities from around the globe who travel to the desert every April to witness some of the most renowned musicians perform. The festival is famous worldwide and stands out as one of the most prominent music festivals.

While Frank Ocean’s sudden cancellation may be disappointing for fans eagerly anticipating his performance, these recent findings indicate that several festival-goers may skip the weekend altogether.

The spokesperson added, “Having a headliner suddenly cancel will undoubtedly come as frustrating news for fans who have been eagerly awaiting seeing Ocean perform. However, these findings suggest that many festivalgoers may decide to forgo the weekend entirely.”

Bad Bunny’s Historic Set At Coachella

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is the first Latino artist to headline Coachella. It was a nearly two-hour performance also filled with special guests and an on-stage jet ski.

Bad Bunny took the stage at 11:35 p.m., and the roars engulfed the audience. The artist then opened up by giving Coachella a history of his Latin roots.

Message To Critics & Fans

Bad Bunny addressed many of his critics and gave a heartfelt message to his fans during his set.

“Don’t believe everything you hear. You won’t get to know the real me through a video on Instagram, an interview, or a TikTok. If you really want to get to know me, I invite you to my home,” Bad Bunny proclaimed from the stage. “My name is Benito Martinez Ocasio… I know who I am, what my purpose is, and I promise you — I will see it through.”

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio probably made Latinos proud everywhere because Coachella is one of the biggest festivals in the world. Twitter also went crazy supporting hilarious and emotional tweets about Bad Bunny’s moving performance.

Who Did Bad Bunny Bring On-Stage?

The Puerto Rican hitmaker brought out Reggaeton veterans Jowell & Randy and Ñengo Flow.

However, a pleasant surprise that many most likely didn’t expect was Post Malone joining Bunny on stage. Bunny brought out Post Malone for an amazing acoustic performance of “La Cancion” and “Yonaguni,” which was sadly hindered by technical issues.

Post Malone’s, born Austin Richard Post’s, mic went dead. The artist’s microphone couldn’t work again, so he had to leave the stage and leave Ocasio to finish off his historical set.

Bad Bunny Is Putting Latin Trap On The Map

Bad Bunny first performed at Coachella a few years ago. At the time, the artist was also up and coming in reggaeton and Latin trap music. He has put the Latin trap on the map.

Bad Bunny is making history not only at Coachella but also with his latest album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” being the first entirely Spanish-language work to earn a Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year

Travis Scott Demands Fans To Get Down From Lighting Ladder During Coney Island Concert

Since being blackballed by the tragic Astroworld incident, Travis Scott is back in the game. However, this time around, he seems to be taking crowd safety more seriously.

According to TMZ, Monday night, July 4, two Travis Scott fans decided to climb lighting ladders, or trusses, in an overhyped way to view the artist’s show. Travis proceeded to stop the show and demand the two remove themselves from the dangerous situation. What has been overlooked is now being addressed by the “SICKO MODE” rapper.

Although the Astroworld “night in hell” was over seven months ago, it is still fresh for those affected. Residual damage is just a fraction of what the music festival caused. With ex-fans filing lawsuits at his doorstep, Travis Scott’s career since the disastrous event has spiraled. Still, his efforts to amend his once glorious name in music is a sluggish process.

Don’t Call It Travis’s Comeback

Diddy, who hosted the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, went to bat for the rapper to make an appearance on the big stage. Mr. Take That advocated and succeeded in presenting Travis the opportunity to perform at one of the most significant televised events in music. While many were against it, Love(Diddy) had other plans.

In an Instagram video, Diddy somberly states, “I made a request, I made a demand.” This gesture has opened several avenues for the Astroworld Festival curator, who has accrued several opportunities to perform.

Just days before the BBMA’s, he performed alongside The Migos in Miami. He even hit up a stage at a Coachella afterparty.

REVOLT Black News captured the moment where Diddy takes a stance against cancel culture. “I am uncanceling the canceled,” he continued. “There will be no canceling on my watch.” Diddy eluded.

Be it true that Scott is still doing damage control, reports of new lawsuits continue to swarm the Houston, Texas native. Diddy’s forgiveness may have opened hearts and then given Scott a chance at redemption. And it seems Travis might’ve not taken this second chance for granted.

P. Diddy’s Presence on the Tech Front Taking Hip-Hop Futuristic

P. Diddy is proving the future is now, and before our eyes, tech is working its transformative power in hip-hop culture. Innovation will change how fans and artists interact and how fans receive, view, and enjoy the art form. June 13th, 2022, provided perfect proof.

Biggie’s Hologram Tip of Iceberg

Hip hop heads got a shock yesterday when they ran across a holographic image of Notorious on the street. Undoubtedly fans were equally in awe when a holographic representation of Tupac performed at Coachella in 2012.

Say what? Yes, it is indeed true.

And not long ago, Diddy himself gave a glimpse of what the future looks like when his holograph dropped in on a celebratory event for his son.

Diddy is Proving Himself an Ambassador of Innovation

A few months ago, Diddy made headlines as an advisor to a cutting-edge start-up company Proto. One of the services Proto specializes in is holoportation. Can anyone say, “beam me up, Scotty?” Amazingly, Proto is shaping the future of reality and what pioneering tech can do. And Diddy’s got a seat at the table.

Integration Underway

What’s more, Proto’s innovations are already integrated into multiple industries. Its relevance in the market is clear. Here is a bit mull over as an example of how poignant Proto’s services are. Proto’s services have been recognized for impacting the NFT/Crypto market. Black Enterprise notes,

“Proto has become recognized as the ideal showcase for NFTs, having started in the field with the first NFT designed for a Proto made by Nicole Buffett (later purchased at auction by Snoop Dogg).”

That is huge.

Diddy Demonstrates How It’s Done

Diddy is proving to be a walking demonstration of Proto’s capabilities giving fans a further glimpse into the future. Afrotech’s coverage following Diddy’s groundbreaking holoportation demonstration is perfect proof of what the innovation can do. With the tech, Diddy made an appearance in three different locations around the world earlier in May. Given that display, this technology’s impact on the industry is unfathomable.

Hold On Wait a Minute

If people thought seeing Biggie on the streets of New York was something, bigger things are on the horizon. Holportation is the stuff of our wildest imaginations, and it is swiftly becoming our reality. And one of hip-hop’s biggest movers and shakers not only has a seat at the table, but he is also test-driving, which is remarkable. So stay tuned FM Hip Hop will keep you abreast of how innovation is shaping hip-hop culutre.

Twitter Believes Big Sean Should Be On The 2010s Rap Mount Rushmore

Twitter is going crazy deciding who is the fourth rapper on Mount Rushmore.  This Mount Rushmore list is for rappers that dominated the 2010s.  On Twitter, there is a photo of Mount Rushmore with Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar faces in three spots.  Rap fans placed Big Sean’s name in the last spot.  Considerably, Tyler the Creator or Future are put on the ballot for the last spot.  The 2010s was a great time for hip hop, there are a few artists that can take that spot.

The Case for Big Sean

Big Sean’s debut album “Finally Famous” came out in 2011 and debuted at #1 on the charts with three songs going Platinum including “Dance” featuring Nicki Minaj.  He follows “Finally Famous” up with “Hall of Fame” in 2013 securing another #1 album on the rap charts.  This album includes the hits “Beware” with Lil Wayne and Jhene Aiko and “Guap”.  “Dark Sky Paradise” is Big Sean’s first album to be #1 on the BillBoard 200, Billboard Hip Hop and R&B, and BillBoard Rap charts.  This album is home to “I Don’t Fuck With You” featuring E-40 and Blessings with Drake and Kanye Wes.  From 2014-2015, the airwaves couldn’t get enough of these two songs.  Big Sean does it again on “I Decided” going #1 across all charts with “Bounce Back” being the signature song.

The Detroit product in between albums also dropped an amazing mixtape.  “Detroit” dropped in 2012 winning Best Mixtape at the BET Awards in 2013.  In my opinion, it should have been an album.  Before releasing “I Decided”, he teamed up with Jhene Aiko and the lovers came up with “Twenty88”.  The project reached #1 on the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B chart and Rap chart.  The following year, he also joined forces with Metro Boomin for their “Double or Nothing” tape.  I can see why many people would like to see Big Sean’s face in the Mount Rushmore.  He was working all decade!

Detroit Love

Last month Big Sean brought out Mike Posner during his Coachella performance.  Both from Detroit, Sean and Posner worked with each other often when they were first getting started.  Big Sean even knows Mike Posner’s late father as he shouted him out on stage while Posner shared a video for the audience.  The video epitomizes their friendship with clips from backstage shows to recording sessions with each other. Mike credits Sean with allowing him to believe in himself.  Big Sean capped the performance off by performing his hits like “Dance”, “My Last”, and “I Don’t Fuck With You”.

J Balvin Joined Karol G On The Coachella Stage

Karol G invited J Balvin on stage, where both performed during the last weekend Coachella. The artists performed Balvin’s 3-billion-views banger “Mi Gente.”

The show itself also turned out great. Karol G had many decorations on the stage, accompanied by dancers and a mixture of vapors and lights. The show’s lighting design generally seems to be a vital subject to Karol G.

“It’s the first time we’re going to have a huge stage with different screens, lights, and color,” the artist excitedly shared before her Bitchota tour in 2021. “The most important thing is that I’m going to share this time with the people that follow me,”

Karol G and J Balvin are very close friends. “We hope to record something together,” Karol said in 2018.

“We are like brother and sister, and I’m sure the day we collaborate, it will be very powerful. I’m sure it will be magical and record-breaking, but we are friends before anything else.” Later on, the artists recorded and released the “Location” collaboration in 2021.

Below you can check out the performance of Karol G and J Balvin:

J Balvin’s Music Video Controversy

Back in October, J Balvin released the “Perra” music video. It raised multiple questions and concerns.

“Balvin is walking two Black women on leashes at one point,” the reporter explained. “And Tokischa is seen in a doghouse on all fours, being fed fried chicken and cereal in a dog bowl.”

Eventually, Balvin apologized and then tried to explain himself. “I want to say sorry to whomever felt offended, especially to the Black women community,” the artist shared on IG stories. “That’s not who I am. I have always expressed tolerance, love, and inclusivity.”

Tokischa, who featured with Balvin, is also “seen in a doghouse on all fours, being fed fried chicken and cereal in a dog bowl.” She didn’t comment on the controversial matter.

Megan Thee Stallion States That ‘Plan B’ Is About “Experiences I’ve Had In Relationships”

The internet was abuzz with Megan Thee Stallion’s “Plan B” after she previewed the track at Coachella last weekend. Megan shared her inspiration behind the composition.

“‘Plan B’ caught fans’ attention with lyrics like “di*k don’t run me, I run di*k,” “I’m the only reason you got bi**hes,” and “you’s a bi**h,” as well as a classic sample from Jodeci and Wu-Tang’s “Freak’n You.”

After speculation about who the song could be about, Meg confirmed the track is about “past” relationships and appears not to be about a particular person.

“I was just venting [about] experiences I’ve had in relationships I’ve been in the past,” Meg wrote during an unexpected Twitter question and answer session with fans.

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Megan Thee Stallion to release a Tory Lanez diss track. Nonetheless, they’ve been going back and forth since she accused him of shooting her in July 2020. Lanez was sent back to jail after a hearing on Apr. 5 for violating his release conditions. As a result, the judge ruled that he violated the court’s order by tweeting about Megan Thee Stallion in February.

Megan Has A Q&A With Fans Regarding Her Single ‘Plan B’

In the Q&A session, Meg also offered more details about the rapid-fire single, which will appear on her forthcoming album. Moreover, she confirmed that the song would have its own music video. Meg also hadn’t anticipated it would receive the kind of attention it has received since its debut at Coachella.

“It’s aggressive it’s nostalgic it’s raw,” Megan wrote when describing the track’s sonics. “I can’t say it’s based in one sound but it’s definitely HARD.”

Previously, she described the song as “very motherf**king personal,” and it is not difficult to see why. Listen to the new single below.

Megan Thee Stallion Debuts Diss Track During Coachella Set

Sunday marks the end of the first weekend of Coachella 2022. Though this year, it didn’t make as  big of a social media wave, there were some memorable moments involving Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper headlined night two of the festival, and previewed an upcoming song. Fans suspect it’s a diss track toward rapper Tory Lanez who allegedly shot Meg two years ago. However, it doesn’t yet have a title because it’s just an unreleased snippet of a song. Megan commanded attention from Hotties in a tweet posted April 7, over two weeks before she took the stage.

“I got this song that I recorded and every time I play it for a woman they start jumping and clapping I think I wanna perform it at Coachella for the first time before I actually drop it,”she said on Twitter before her performance.

She concluded the song with “You is a b-tch,” further fueling speculation from fans. Things escalated earlier this month, Tory Lanez was handcuffed for violating a court order. Hotties think this song is about him. In addition to pointing out the provocative lyrics, fans compared the style of the song to the flow of Lil Kim. The song itself samples the “Freak’n You” remix by Jodeci and WuTang Clan. Fans responded overwhelmingly positive to both of these things, though the Lil Kim inspiration isn’t confirmed.

Meg Further Teases Fans On Social Media

A post shared by Megan Thee Stallion (@theestallion)

The rapper posted a clip of the performance, captioned, “I performed a snippet of my unreleased song at Coachella last night.” She continued, “I see y’all saying y’all want it…maybe I should just gone headdd release this.” During her set The “WAP” collaborator performed other songs as well, including “Savage,” and “Big Ole Freak.” However, the unreleased track appears to be the most discussed aspect of her set. She didn’t clue the audience in on whom it’s directed at, other than saying “to whom it may f-cking concern.” However, it definitely created excitement for her next project.

The Weeknd Threatens To Cancel Coachella, Says They Are Pocketing His Money

Reportedly, The Weeknd could have cancelled on Coachella. He is the replacement for Ye. However, they are not paying him the same.

Ye was supposed to receive $8.5 million for appearing in Coachella. However, he did not accept the gig. He pulled out because he wants to focus on himself for a while, out of the spotlight. At least until he is over his family situation.

The replacement was decided to be The Weeknd. He is supposed to play on April 17 and 24. However, things were not doing so hot behind the scenes.

According to Page 6, the producers of the music festival are trying to pocket most of the money. They were trying to only pay The Weeknd “a few million” and pocket the rest.

This has caused negotiations to continue throughout the week between The Weeknd’s management and Goldenvoice, the producers of the festival. When Goldenvoice released that The Weeknd was going to appear on Wednesday, the negotiations were still happening. At the last minute, Goldenvoice agreed to pay the full amount. They could not have the main act cancel their performance twice.

The Truth about Ye

However, there is something that does not quite match up with reality in Page 6’s article. They claim that Ye is seeking external help for his mental condition and will be leaving the spotlight for a while. Jason Lee, Ye’s head of Media and Partnerships has already denied this claim. He is not leaving the spotlight.

That was the grounding statement of the entire claim. Without that, the entire premise falls apart. There is also just a general lack of logic to it. Goldenvoice does the announcement while negotiations are still happening. That shot themselves in the foot and they have to give The Weeknd the full payment? It just does not make sense for the producers of Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the world, to make that mistake.
