Saweetie Speaks On Past Relationship With Quavo

Saweetie made an appearance on Yung Miami’s podcast Caresha Please, opening up on her relationship with ex Quavo. The Icy Girl’s dating life has been a major topic of discussion since she entered the rap game. She’s been linked with everyone from Lil Baby to Justin Combs.

However, fans can’t seem to stop circling back to Saweetie’s two year relationship with Quavo. The “My Type” rapper and the Migos star split last year over what she called a “betrayal.” No specifics about the breakup have been revealed, but Saweetie did address the issue on Caresha Please.

Yung Miami grilled Saweetie over rumors that the “Hotel Lobby” rapper cheated on her, fracturing the relationship. However, the Sacremento native didn’t give a direct response. “I think the past is the past and I’ve moved on since then,” she said while making a face. The City Girl followed up by asking whether or not the relationship was toxic. “I think we had a lot of growing pains together,” Saweetie replied.

As the podcast continued, Yung Miami touched on Saweetie’s memorable moments with Quavo. Saweetie then shared her thoughts on where the relationship may have been heading.

“I thought we was gon’ spend the rest of our lives together,” the “Best Friend” artist said. “With him, I knew it was the one. It was different.”

Yung Miami couldn’t help but address the fallout of the breakup when Quavo repossessed Saweetie’s car. The rapper simply laughed and told the host that she enjoyed the luxury lifestyle, but she would have to get her next car herself.

Saweetie since Quavo

Since her breakup in 2021, Saweetie has been spotted with many male celebrities. Earlier this year, fans speculated that she was back with her ex Keith Powers after the two were spotted at a friend’s party. Rumors also circulated that she was seeing Lil Baby after he reportedly treated her to a shopping spree.

Saweetie addressed these relationships on Caresha Please. “I’ve encountered men who, like…You know, we have a good time and then after that I hear them talking like telling people that we hanging out and that we doing some extra stuff. But it’s just like, Boy, just shut your mouth’.”

J Cole Attends One Lucky Fan’s College Graduation

J Cole proved he doesn’t bluff this week. The North Carolina native thankfully kept his word and checked up on this diehard fan.

J Cole makes a dream come true

In 2013,  Cierra Bosarge called a local radio station saying her biggest dream is a birthday shoutout from J Cole. However, according to a Complex report, it took only three short months for Bosarge to hear from Cole. Soon after, the Dreamville rapper met up with her in person. During their meeting, Cierra delved into her past and revealed the struggles she’d overcome to make it there.

Cierra is adopted and had two parents both suffering from drug addiction. In addition to that, Cierra’s mom and dad were incarcerated and unable to attend her high school graduation. In a brave move, the young super fan asked Cole if he would attend the graduation ceremony. The ‘No Role Modelz’ artist said yes, but with some conditions.

“I read your letter twice now. you are so strong, I admire YOU,” he wrote back. “I will be at your graduation… only IF you get into a 4 year University. go!”

Word is bond

Bosarge, in her ambitious fashion, graduated on a track to a 4-year university. Cole of course stuck to his word and attended the high school graduation. Moreover, he’s made an appearance at Cierra’s recent college graduation ceremony. Cole was seen looking proud at the Rowan University event. The unexpected gesture drew an emotional reaction from Bosarge, who certainly has some huge bragging rights. “i’m front row crying at my graduation y’all” she typed.

Clearly, J Cole is an artist that has a deep appreciation for his fans.

TMZ Is Releasing Their Own Rap Show, TMZ Hip-Hop

TMZ is a controversial yet long upheld gossip platform. They’re ready to tackle a real hot topic: rap music.

TMZ wants a new audience

If you’re a lover of pop culture and celeb gossip there’s no doubt you’re familiar with TMZ. The contentious TV show and website are known for their equally thorough reporting of celebs across the board, but they’ve never focused on hip-hop specifically. That’ll all change this Monday, Apr. 11.

TMZ Hip Hop promises to deliver “fresh new takes on the hottest stories about the biggest celebs in the genre” according to the official online announcement. Intriguingly, Beyonce and Kanye West are named as subjects of interest for TMZ Hip Hop. The teaser doesn’t go into much detail on this pair, but it will certainly be exciting to see some tea spilled.

TMZ Hip Hop will be delivering all the gossip. Out of the whole set of hosts, DJ Hed may have the richest insight. The multi-Grammy award-winning producer has worked with industry icons like Jay Z, Eminem, and Xzibit.

Speaking of hip-hop, TMZ recently got into some hot water with a rap veteran.

TMZ vs. Positive K

Kidd Creole of Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five was found guilty of manslaughter earlier this month. In TMZ’s usual fashion, they quickly covered the story but strangely attached the wrong photo.  The ‘90s emcee Positive K, known for his ’92 hit “I Got a Man” got a rude awakening when he discovered the article. Instead of Creole’s headshot, his photo appeared.

A post shared by Positive k (@positive_k_)

Positive K promptly responded on Instagram, understandably upset with the mistake. “Really @tmz_tv. When did POSITIVE K become Kidd Creole?” He typed. “So now all Black People look alike? You all were the same ones who pronounced the late great DMX deceased days before his death. I thought this was a platform of professional journalists?! But l’m beginning to think that research on a topic, story, or article is not a requirement to intern or be employed at @tmz_tv.”

With a charge as serious as manslaughter, it’s easy to see why K had that reaction. TMZ is an extremely popular platform after all, and the internet forgets nothing. Hopefully, they can use this incident as a stepping stone for TMZ Hip Hop and be sure to always remember to report rap news respectfully.

50 Cent Slams STARZ, “6 Months Till I Have Anything New”

The Queens legend is known for not holding his tongue, and obviously, nothing changed. 50 cents newest target is tv network Starz.

50 Cent VS. STARZ

50 Cent has succeeded not only in music but television as well. In addition to his hit tv series Power, BMF and For Life have received critical and commercial acclaim. With several shows currently in development, you’d think 50 would have a good relationship with Starz. The million-dollar media company has been the network behind 50’s portfolio since Power premiered in 2014. But recently he’s been airing out grievances online.

According to the ‘21 Questions’ rapper, following the final four episodes of Power Book IV: Force none of his shows will air for six months.

This past weekend (Mar. 19) 50 reposted a fan-made TikTok and explained his frustration in the caption.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by 50 Cent (@50cent)

“I have 4 more episodes of FORCE, then I don’t have anything airing on STARZ for six months so y’all know the vibes,” he typed.

He continued, “FORCE is the highest rated premier of any show on the network. when they take too long to green light it, it pushes the production time line back. after tonight’s episode there are 3 left, April 10 it’s a wrap. Then 6 months till i have anything new.”

Trouble in paradise

Apparently, 50 and Starz are going through a particularly bad spell. Earlier this month (Mar. 1) 50 claimed he was finished with the network altogether.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ, Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out.” He announced at the time. “They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb sh*t I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”

It can’t be denied the 46-year-old has brought a ton of attention to Starz with his impressive lineup. Hopefully, everything can be straightened out so we can continue to get good content. One thing for certain, this NY icon isn’t afraid to demand his respect.

Biggs Signed Off On Kanye West

Speedy Morman recently interviewed Kareem “Biggs” Burke for a special Netflix chat. The interview centered around Kanye West and his 3-part documentary “Jeen-Yuhs.”. Biggs talks about how he always saw the talent in Ye and how he supported the rising genius. The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records knew that Kanye would be a giant in the game. Therefore, he is excited to see his growth to the top. Biggs’s approval means a lot in this hip-hop world, and Kanye has it.

Bigg Becomes Part Of A Movement

Kareem Burke was born in 1974, while hip-hop was still in its infant stages. Biggs always had a hustler’s mentality, which is still apparent today. He always loved music, even when he was just a party promoter. Eventually, Burke connected with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Damon “Dame” Dash. The three of them teamed up and created Roc-A-Fella during the 90s.

The Music Of Roc-A-Fella

Roc-A-Fella and their artist will always be recognized in the history of hip-hop. Many of the artists signed to Roc-A-Fella also became legends in rap. Biggs was in the mix when it came to signing big names. Beanie Segal, The Diplomats, Mystikal, Jay-Z, and then Kanye West are all part of Roc-A-Fella history. All these artists resembled the unique and captivating brand of the label they were signed to. Fans wanted to imitate everything they saw the Roc-A-Fella artist doing. They wanted to drink what they drank, live how they lived, dress how they dressed, rap as they rapped.

Street Fashion Becomes High Fashion

Fans of hip-hop immediately recognized the name of Roc-A-Fella and the respect of the brand is also at an all-time high for its impact on the culture. Roc-A-Fella was able to bring the fashion of the streets to the masses. The Roc pushed durags under caps, jerseys, baggie pants, and a nice pair of kicks as a look. Founders of Roc-A-Fella capitalized on this and created a fashion line. We can’t minimalize Biggs contributions to Rocawear, so his name should always be mentioned with Jay-Z and Dam Dash.

Biggs After Roc-A-Fella?

Biggs didn’t stop hustling after the Roc-A-Fella Records breakup. He has started other fashion lines, produced a movie and documentary, created a management company. The hustle in Kareem Burke will not burn out because he continues to have a role in hip-hop. Remember,  Biggs, co-sign matters if you are planning to be in hip-hop. If he sees talent in you, run with it.

22Gz Tells Upcoming Rappers to “dumb they dissin down”

Brooklyn rapper 22Gz has been a key competitor in the Northern drill scene since his 2018 hit  “Suburban”. The “Twirlanta” artist is all too familiar with beefing, most notably with fellow New York rapper Sheff G. In addition to Sheff, 22Gz has had conflict with Tekashi 69 and CJ. Now, it looks like he may be changing his approach, focusing on the positive, and encouraging others to do the same.

22Gz gives an honest take.

In an interview with HipHopDX earlier this week, 22Gz got candid about the New York hip hop scene. “All these young n-ggas, they got heat, I ain’t gon’ lie. They got heat. They doin’ they thing.” He replied to being asked his opinion on new artists. “Just gotta dumb they dissin’ down cause n-ggas don’t hear you, n-ggas straight hear the dissin’ and say fuck the whole song, ya heard?”

When asked if that mindset impacts how he makes music, 22Gz was quick to clarify. “It’s how diss though, It’s dayroom how they do it type shit. Like bro, a n-gga moms can’t hear that type shit. You really trying to make it or what? You playin’.”

Turning over a new leaf.

This peaceful philosophy can be seen in some of 22Gz’s recent actions. Last year, April 2021, he opened up to Ebro on Apple Music 1 about ending his longtime beef with Sheff G.

“Sometimes it be deeper than just the rappers and rap, but that would be like being 40 years old chasing each other down the street. It don’t make sense, so we might as well start figuring it out.” He said. 22Gz was seen taking the high road even before then during the 2020 passing of Pop Smoke. The two drill rappers had some conflict based on a claim that 22Gz created the Brooklyn drill sound. Despite their hard feelings, the 23-year-old offered condolences to Pop Smoke’s family after the tragic event.

“All beef aside, I feel sorry for boy, This type of stuff is the reason I move with who I move with and move the way we move. Becoming another casualty isn’t that plan for any of us. Sleep in peace to homie. May his family find peace in all of this madness” he typed.

This shift in attitude in one of Brooklyn’s biggest rap stars is certainly a breath of fresh air. New York particularly is an area prone to up-and-coming rappers falling victim to senseless violence. Last year, Jul. 8, Bronx rapper Ty Swish was shot in the eye in his apartment lobby. Just a couple of months earlier on May 30, budding Brooklyn rapper Supa Gates passed away from injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting. Hopefully, young NY rappers can take this advice from 22Gz and make their mark in a less risky way.
