Benny The Butcher’s “Tana Talk 4” Release Date Has Been Revealed

DJ Premier revealed that Benny the Butcher’s much-anticipated LP, “Tana Talk 4,” will be released next month. The producer let fans know on his Twitter account yesterday, January 31, that the album will arrive on February 11. He also released a small snippet of a track from the album. Based on the one song alone, the album sounds promising. Listen to the preview below.

“Tana Talk 4”

Butcher did not confirm the release date himself but posted on Instagram that TT4 is coming, tagging DJ Premier.

“Pyrex Picasso came to play @djpremier TT4,” he wrote.

Earlier this month, Butcher teased fans about the new album, already crowning it as album of the year. “…Who wanna bet my shit go crazy when I drop ‘Tana Talk 4,’” Benny asked his fans in an Instagram video. “If anybody doubting me, who wanna bet? What we talking about? Who wanna bet me?”

He recently also released his song with J.Cole, “Johnny P’s Caddy,” which will appear in the album. The music video for the track was also released. “Tana Talk 4″ serves as the follow-up to his critically acclaimed “Tana Talk 3,” which led to him landing a record deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label.

Benny The Butcher Stays Busy

Aside from his LP potentially releasing next month, the rapper also teased his return to radio station Power 106’s L.A. Leakers series. The series showcases rappers’ freestyle skills while also promoting their new projects.

Aside from teasing his latest LP, he also executive produced newcomer Grafh’s self-titled debut album, released on October 15. The album also featured Bun B, Chyi Da Prince, Styles P, Rick Hyde, and Butcher himself.

Last year, he appeared on Rick Ross’ “Rapper’s Estates” off of “Richer Than I Ever Been,” and his collaboration with Drake had leaked. He also joined Dave East and Harry Fraud on their single “HOFFA.”

Ye Dropping New Music Alongside A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, The Game, and DJ Premier

Ye is a machine! Today Ye’s supporters got news of another impending music drop. West shocked many of his followers with an Instagram post of a video of himself chopping it up with the Game and DJ Premier while in the studio. Given the reaction of Ye’s followers, the fans were highly appreciative. Laughably that’s despite the posted session being muted.

West Is Blowing Up Headlines

FM Hip Hop recently provided coverage on West’s dive into his Donda 2 project, reported ten days ago. The news of Donda 2 is impressive, given the first part of Ye’s music project release less than six months ago. Then a few short weeks ago, Ye was also working in the studio with Scarface. None of that is enough? Now, the “Jesus Walks” artist was found in the studio with A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, The Game, and Ab-Liva of the Re-Up Gang.

Is Ye Right About Controlling Music?

Undoubtedly, West is all over the place. So, there is indeed something to Ye saying that “We about to control music.” How could one not exercise significant control in a market with their imprint on so many surfacing projects? If not power indeed, Ye will exert a considerable influence. We are still in the first month of 2022, and West’s name is everywhere. Now that type of energy is wild.

How Soon Can Ye’s Fans Expect the Music?

Fans may be getting a drop tomorrow. In the Instagram post where Ye hits up DJ premier to enlist his expert services, this is what was said,

“We got a song we’re releasing Friday that we wanted you to do a scratch on, if possible,”

If this is true, fans can expect a drop Friday, January 14, 2022. Wow, the music release from Yee this quick is mind-boggling! If it weren’t for the coverage of his other social interactions, one would assume he is literally eating, breathing, and sleeping music.

No denying, West’s hustle is intense.

Ye Understands When To Keep It Humble

Humbleness and West are two words that don’t necessarily go together. However, we can tell from Ye’s interaction with DJ Premiere he understands how to play the game. He knows when humbleness is essential. For example, one moment before asking for Premiere’s help, Ye poured out his gratitude to Premieres son with his father by his side.

“Your father’s my inspiration.”

How sweet! Then he adds a little frosting to sweeten things a bit. In talking to DJ Premier, Ye said,

“You are the locksmith of protecting [music]…He makes sure that nobody leaks that shit out.”

All we can say is well done, but we already knew West is up on the game.

With all hopes, fans will get some new music this weekend from Ye, Pusha T., The Game, and DJ Premiere. If so, FM Hip Hop will provide coverage and keep an eye out on all things West.

The newly released EP list for The Hip Hop 50 soundtrack.

This Mass Appeal team-up with ShowTime and Nas was originally announced in May.  Since then, they have slowly released what can be expected to commemorate hip hop’s 50 year mark. This entertainment company has a mission to represent the urban culture on a global scale.  Fans are excited about what is to come.

Mass Appeal will release the EPs quarterly beginning in 2022, all containing original music.

The representations of hip hop

For the 50th anniversary, all projects will represent different aspects of Hip Hop. There will be regionally-themed projects and a DJ Premier-helmed EP billed as the “Early Days.”

Swizz Beatz will produce for the East Coast, and Mustard will take on the West Coast.  Meanwhile, Mike WiLL Made-It has the South, and No I.D. will tackle the Midwest. As for the global EP, Mass Appeal has taken on reggaeton hitmaker Tainy for it.

Filling out the rest of the series, Hit-Boy will produce a lyricism showcase, Take A Daytrip will have an “alternative” EP, and The-Dream will take the R&B EP.

Also, there’s an Instagram post for the EPs.

For the final Ep, fans get to choose the last producer. However, there is no announcement for when the voting begins.

Mass Appeal is releasing its selection of producers as part of its distribution deal with The Orchard, meaning portions of the proceeds will go to charitable organizations and the Universal Hip Hop Museum.

“Hip Hop is the soundtrack of everything we see and hear around the world,” Mass Appeal’s General Manager of Music, Jessica Rivera, said.

“We are excited to build the soundscape of Hip Hop 50th anniversary and deliver notable collaborations led by these amazing producers.”

Hip Hop has been the foundation for an evolving urban culture. November is now the National Hip Hop History Month. These recent advancements in the culture are particularly new milestones for hip hop lovers and curators alike.

DJ Premier Reminisces On The Time He Played “Raw Hip Hop” At The Playboy Mansion Party

DJ Premier took a trip down the memory lane today on his Youtube Series, “So Wassup?” He talked about his experience DJing at the Playboy Mansion. He told a story about Fred Durst. In 1998 Limp Bizkit frontman secured DJ Premiere a gig at the famous Playboy Mansion.

Now, if hearing that such a prominent HipHop DJ got a gig at the Playboy Mansion didn’t shock you, then you won’t believe what happened next. He got to play “raw hip-hop.” Many would have expected a safer choice: pop or upbeat and fast-paced songs. However, DJ Premier was given full authority over the playlist. He even featured songs from the HipHop legend, Ghostface Killah!

DJ Premier’s Breaks Down The Making Of “N 2 Gether Now”

Premier described how they’d use the now-obsolete floppy discs to record and store music during his time. “Now, this one’s very special for several reasons. At the time, this is 1999. My former manager, Patrick Moxie, who had Payday Records and managed Gang Starr for our entire career. All the way up to our last album that we recorded together, ‘The Owners, ‘ which came out in 2002.” He narrates in the video:

Despite his initial hesitation to do the track, he changed his mind once he heard that Method Man would be part of the project. The record producer also described the events leading up to the deejaying job at the playboy mansion. “Me and Fred Durst built up a relationship,” Premiere explained. “He said, ‘Yo man, I’m doing a pajama party at the playboy mansion for Hugh Hefner, and I want you to DJ.”

Mr. Durst’s instructions were, “Keep it raw hip-hop.” “I remember when everybody started walking in all the playboy Bunnies. I was playing Ghost Face’s record one, and they just started walking in popping into the beat, and I just remember they’re just going one, and everybody’s piling in all in their bikinis and whatnot.” DJ Premier went on as he described the energy at the party.
