Suspect In Takeoff’s Murder Released From Jail On $1 Million Bond

The man charged with the murder of Takeoff has been released from jail on a $1 million bond. This is according to court records. Patrick Clark was accused of killing one-third of the rapper group ‘Migos‘ in Houston, Texas late last year. He is due back in court in a couple of months.

$2 Million Bond Cut In Half

The bond was originally set at $1 million more than what the judge approved. However, Clark’s legal team got him a reduction by half last month. Supposedly arguing the figure was unconstitutional at $2 million because he was unable to afford it.

His attorney said prior to the murder suspect’s family was ready to give away their Houston home to bond Clark out of jail.

Clark’s Legal Team Disagrees With Judge

The charged murder suspect’s attorney, Letitia Quinones, said, “although we respect Judge Hill as well as his decision today, we disagree with it and to be honest we’re very surprised by it.”

His lawyer was confident the bond would be reduced to the amount Clark’s legal team argued for at $300,000, after complying with the judge’s bond conditions.

Bond Agreement Requirements

The murder suspect’s bond agreement requires him to comply with GPS monitoring by wearing an ankle monitor.

Tragedy Took Place Last November

The 33-year-old suspect allegedly killed Kirsnick Khari Ball, stage name ‘Takeoff,’ by gunfire outside a private property at a Downtown Houston bowling alley. This tragedy took place last November, and two other people were injured in the process.

Authorities said the 28-year-old rap star was just an innocent bystander to a “lucrative” dice game. Quavo and other men took place in the game as well. But a dispute took place during the game leading to various shots being fired.

Migos

The Migos are a popular Hip Hop group composed of rappers Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset. The group recently disbanded following Offset’s independent solo ventures and his focus on his family with Cardi B. Migos has been a huge name in the music industry in terms of contributing to the culture of rap music for at least a decade now. They have three albums specifically named themed after culture, as they sought to continually define their legacy in rap. Their music and flows individually catapulted their image and style in stardom with hits like Versace (2013) and Bad and Boujee (2016).

Takeoff

Takeoff was the youngest member of the group and nephew to Quavo. He spent a lot of time with the group offering catchy adlibs and speedy flows within their songs. He also has solo music via an album by himself and has sparked conversation due to his trendy videos and memes from interviews. Takeoff was taken from the rap and music world this morning but will not be forgotten. Hours before his death he posted a picture at the bowling alley, seemingly enjoying himself. Despite being pronounced dead on the scene he was still immediately rushed to a local hospital along with two others that survived the deadly altercation.

Lil Kim’s Remix For Meg Thee Stallion’s “Plan B” Removed From Streaming Platforms

Just when Lil Kim and Megan Thee Stallion fans got a taste of the “Plan B (Remix),” the thrill died. Within hours of the track being released, it was removed from all streaming platforms.

The blessed cultural collab

With every photo tease, Lil Kim has had everyone on lock, wondering what the Queen was up to. The New York legend revealed her remix to Hot Girl Meg’s “Plan B” Last month, Kim shared a photo on her Instagram page showing just enough to get everyone pondering, much like her captioned emoji. In the image, two hands are wrapped around each other, each holding a glass of champagne. When the bubbly comes out, you can bet it’s a celebration.

It was a celebration indeed. On Sep 7, the legend fully revealed the mystery photo with herself and non-other than Megan Thee Stallion. The two were on a private jet toasting it up. Kim was draped in Dolce & Gabbana while Megan fashioned a red and sand-colored dress.

Lil Kim x Megan- A budding friendship

The female rap game is competitive as not many female rappers have survived the cutthroat industry. However, Lil Kim has solidified her spot amongst legends in the game. How did this collaboration come to fruition?

There is no secret that Megan is Lil Kim’s fan. She has openly expressed her gratitude for female rappers who put in the work so that new MCs may emulate their success. From Lil Kim to Salt-N-Peppa, the Houston hottie paid homage to them all.

Much like Megan, Kim pays respect to the new generation of lady lyricists who are changing the game. In a heartfelt message to Meagan on the gram, Lil Kim says,

“@theestallion, I have watched how hard you worked since you stepped on the scene consistent with your work and your love,. You are an amazing talent. Always keep your head to the sky and know you have made your Mommy proud! You deserve it all! May God continue to bless you.”

A Dream Fulfilled; Short-lived

Just as quickly as the train left the station, it returned. Unfortunately, the track brought about unintentional drama. 50 Cent publicly alleged that Lil Kim dissed Nicki Minaj and her son, Papa Bear, on the “Plan B(Remix).” In shady nature, 50 shared a photo collage of Kim next to an owl, eluding to similarities between the two.

“@NickiMinaj you better light her a$$ up i’m watching. she said something about the baby. Her baby eye f****d up. LOL.”

The line in question is certainly open for interpretation. However, Kim disagreed with his claims.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but N*ga you’s such a b**ch, Your father’s a b**ch, Your brother’s a b**ch, Keep acting like this and your son gon be a b***ch, They think they use us but they useless…he wanna eat the cookie like I’m Lucius,” Lil Kim rapped.

Initially, she simply replied,

“Now watch what God do to his Life!”

It didn’t take long for her to address the issue completely in her Instagram stories.

“I never said a word about anyone’s child… please feel free to listen to the song where we were clearly talking about an EX.”

She continued, “to try and twist my words to have an excuse to take digs at my child is disgusting. I’m one of the most disrespected legends in the game, but what you will not do is come for MY CHILD.”

While 50 will be 50, let’s hope the song’s removal is not in correlation to this series of unfortunate events.

The Game Roasts 50 Cent During a Concert

The Game is not letting go of his beef with 50 Cent any time soon, going so far as to roast him during a recent show in Houston.

The origins of the current beef are from when 50 won three awards at the 2022 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 3rd. 50 taunted his long-time rival on a social media account shortly after the announcement.

“I just won my Emmy award [clapping emojis] for the super bowl half time show. LOL,” he wrote on Instagram before posting a photo of The Game looking angry with the message: “No Caption needed [grinning face emojis].”

The Game responded to this with an old photo of 50 Cent modeling a sleeveless shirt. They then started bickering for the next 24 hours.

The Game retaliated the next day, at his show in the Legends Only Concert in Houston. He roasted 50 Cent during a break in his set.

“I’ma tell everybody in here: I still don’t f-ck with 50 Cent. He a bitch n-gga. It ain’t no cut with that n-gga. Next time we in the same place n-gga, shit getting thrown. I don’t f-ck with that n-gga, he a sucker n-gga. I’ma say it in Houston, I’ll say it in New York, I’ll say it anywhere n-gga, that n-gga’s a straight bitch. And I like the TV show. N-gga, now put that on the internet.”

When 50 Cent got word of the clip moving around the internet, he reposted the clip with a link to his G-Unit Brands website.

The two have been bickering since 2005, and this is just the most recent exchange. Earlier this year, the Game’s manager claimed that The Game ghostwrote 50 Cent’s song, “What Up Gangsta”. Fif also laughed at The Game when The Game was snubbed by a record executive at a Lakers basketball game. The Game felt he had the last laugh though, revealing proof 50 Cent’s current girlfriend sliding into his DMs a few years back.

None of this story should be shocking, as it has been over a decade of these two feuding, and more than likely will never change. Any talk of peace does not last for long, as the feuding usually just starts again. Stay tuned for more.

Is Travis Scott Making a Comeback Since Astroworld Tragedy?

Travis Scott is set to make a comeback!  The Houston rapper headlined two concerts in London this past weekend.  It has been nine months since his Astroworld music festival.  Unfortunately, 10 attendees were killed with hundreds injured at that festival forcing Travis Scott to lay low for several months.  It’s hard for people to forget what happened that day.

Astroworld

In November 2021 at the NRG Park in Houston, Texas the Astroworld Festival took place.  With over 50,000 people in attendance, during Travis’s set, the crowd tried to rush towards the stage.  Rushing the stage caused many people to be stuck and out of breath.  Investigators of the incident named compression asphyxia as the cause of death for the 10 victims.  Compression asphyxia is where there is no respiration in your body because of external pressure.  Unfortunately, the concert still went on even with all the commotion leading people to questions Scott’s motives.

Performance in London

In front of 20,000 fans at the O2 Arena, Scott performed new songs from his next album, Utopia.  The album is set to have verses from Swae Lee, Bryson Tiller, and 21 Savage.  He even treated fans to a track featuring Kanye West.  The track titled, “God’s Country” was supposed to be on Kanye’s Donda album, but it never made it.  Scott also performed “Lost Forever”, featuring Westside Gunn and James Blake.  He debuted this song at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year.

Travis Celebrates

After his show, he was met by his good friends NBA stars James Harden and Kevin Durant.  They embraced him and celebrated him for his first headlining show since Astroworld festival.  His wife, Kylie Jenner, and Stormi were also there to support him.  Kylie caught the celebration on camera and posted the trio to social media.  In the video, Travis can be seen shirt-off, yelling, and screaming banging his hand against the door.  James Harden joins him while Kevin Durant pops a bottle of champagne.  This video was met with criticism as fans thought he was being insensitive after what happened at his festival.  They said he is still “raging” and isn’t a good look.

With his fourth studio album in the works, people are wondering if Utopia will honor the victims of the Astroworld festival.  Fans feel he should at least mention it on the album.  Before the album, he has a residency at Las Vegas from September 17-October 15.  “Road to Utopia” consists of seven shows and will be at the Zouk nightclub.

Bun B’s ‘Trill Burgers’ Wins Good Morning America Burger Contest, “We Did It, Baby”

It is easy for someone to become hungry when all this talk about food is happening. The Underground Kingz legend Bun B, whose real name is Bernard James Freeman, has an upcoming restaurant that makes mouthwatering burgers called Trill Burgers.

In New York City’s Times Square, on Friday, Jul 29, the “International Players Anthem” rapper and his burger team were named the winners of the Good Morning America “United States of Burgers” competition. The judges recognized his tasty patties as the best burger in America. To add to the impact of his achievement, the rapper posed with GMA host Michael Strahan. Bun B held a trophy in one hand and a $10,000 cash prize from the morning show in the other.

“We did it, baby, Trill Burgers!” the Houston native said while posing for pictures with his team. “It feels amazing, man; God is good. My team is amazing. You’re going to get the best burger in America soon.”

What Ingredients Does Bun B Use?

During the competition, Trill Burgers presented their OG Trill Burger. Served between two halves of Martin’s potato roll buns, this burger consists of a double patty made from 44 Farms beef, American cheese. On top, there are caramelized onions, pickles, and a special “Trill Sauce.”

If someone loses in a competition, it may discourage them, but it may also be seen as a stepping stone to more of the same in the future. Despite receiving three out of five votes from the judges, the Houston rapper and Trill Burgers chef Mike Pham still won this competition.

Judges for the competition included TV personality Gina Neely, ABC anchor Sam Champion, former NBA player Jalen Rose, WWE wrestler Titus O’Neil, and former NFL running back Tiki Barber.

The Underground Kingz Rapper Offers James Harden A Burger

Trill Burgers are famous among everyday people and have increased their popularity through many celebrities, including Snoop Dogg and Philadelphia 76ers player James Harden.

Bun B recently made a trip to Rolling Loud Miami to promote his new creation from July 22-24. After offering one of his burgers to James Harden, he received an A+ review for the burger.

The Underground Kingz rapper intended to record James eating the burger. When he pulled it out, Harden was down to one bite. Harden’s immediate consumption of the burger proves that he would eat another one if offered again.

“That sh*t ain’t got nothing but a bite left,” Bun B said. “Hey Bun, you got something special big dog, ” Harden said. “That sh*t fire, FIRE!”

When And Where Can You Find ‘Trill Burgers’ Food?

As the hustle continues, we can’t get enough of it! In August of last year, the Underground Kingz rapper launched Trill Burgers in Houston, Texas. He hopes to increase the visibility of his brand at LL Cool J’s Rock The Bells Music Festival in New York City on Aug 6. During his appearance, he also intends to host the first Hip-Hop food court with his Trill Mealz Food Court.

Trill Burgers has been operating on the road and has not yet opened an official restaurant. However, this is an excellent opportunity to snag some delicious food to enjoy at the festival on Aug 6. Alternatively, if you cannot attend, you can purchase food at Bored & Hungry, 2405 E 7th St Long Beach.

The moment we have been waiting for has finally come. As per a release, the restaurant expects to open a permanent location later in the year.

Bun B Presents Trill Burgers

Bun B’s Trill Burgers are set to take over the nation. On August 6, Bun B’s Trill Burgers will be a part of the first-ever Hip-Hop food court. This food court will be in Queens, New York at LL Cool J’s first Rock The Bells Festival. “Trill Mealz,” the name of the food court will feature food from rappers. Ghostface Killah’s Killah Koffee, Jadakiss and Styles P’s Juices for Life, and E-40’s Goon With A Spoon will be featured in the food court.

James Harden Approves

Many people are excited, especially NBA All-Star James Harden. Harden developed a relationship with Bun B while playing for the Houston Rockets. Backstage at Rolling Loud, Bun B gave Harden a Trill burger to try. Yesterday, the Houston rapper went to Instagram to share Harden’s reaction. Harden enjoyed the burger so much that Bun almost didn’t capture it on camera. You can hear Harden in the clip saying the burger is “fire” and that Trill Burgers is “something special.”  Lil Baby, a close friend of Harden, was there as well, waiting for his burger.

Houston Loves Bun

Last year, Bun B created Trill Burgers right in his hometown of Houston. Trill Burgers are thin and crispy smash burgers, a big hit in California. Bun B absolutely loves Houston and Houston loves him too! He has collaborated with the Houston Astros to create a hat for Houston’s 713 Day. On July 13, four hats were released combining Bun B’s logo and designs and the Astros’ logo and visuals. There is a 7-1-3 Hat, Trill OG Hat, Concept Moon Man Hat, and the 2-8-1 Hat. The 7-1-3 represents the city of Houston as on that day, citizens celebrate the city’s oldest area code. The 2-8-1 represents another one of Houston’s area codes. The Bun B/Astros/New Era collection varies from $60 to $713, and fans are also able to purchase a special bobblehead of the rapper, which is also a part of the collection.

ICYMI: ‘Screwed Up Click’ Rapper ESG Has Been Hospitalized And Diagnosed With Cancer

Houston’s Screwed Up Click (SUC) group member and rap icon ESG has been ‌hospitalized for emergency surgery and diagnosed with cancer. His contribution to DJ Screw’s “Screwed and Chopped” has been enormous, as a founder of the late ’90s movement. As well as a style associated with Wreckshop Records, his former home.

In addition, ESG is one of the original members of the legendary DJ Screw’s Screwed Up Click. It features artists such as Big Jut, Lil’ Flip, Dat Boy Grace, Z-Ro, Trae the Truth, and many more.

Furthermore, he is known for the tension between him and Lil’ Flip regarding the title of “Freestyle King,” which was eventually settled.

On Thursday, June 30, someone from his team posted the announcement regarding his health on his Instagram account. “Fans & Supporters of ESG: Our Everyday Street Gangsta is currently in the hospital recovering from emergency surgery. He has been diagnosed with cancer. He asks that all of his fans and supporters pray for him as he recovers from his surgery and fights this unexpected illness.”

In addition, a famous friend of his, producer Jazze Pha, wrote, “cmon ESG u gotta pull thru bro.”

Also, ESG’s mother posted a photo of her son with a caption saying “Prayers up for my first heartbeat,” following many hearts and praying emojis. “Thanks for the love and prayers for my big baby.”

A rapper known as Yo Gutta posted a message on ESG’s Instagram story recently expressing his love for his brother. “Up early thinking about my brother @esgworld,” he said. “Please keep my brother in y’all prayer.”

ESG Started His Music Career With ‘Screwed Up Click’

The Screwed Up Click (S.U.C.) is an alliance of rappers from the Southside of Houston, Texas, founded by DJ Screw. Their presence on numerous screw tapes and their reputation in southern hip hop have earned them considerable respect and recognition. Having grown up in Bogalusa, Louisiana before moving quickly to Houston, ESG’s knowledge of the southside is accurate. ‌‌‌To support this argument, one of the best examples would be‌ ‌the‌ ‌‌famous‌ ‌song “Southside‌ ‌Still‌ ‌Holding”. ‌‌‌‌

Despite the death of several members and the incarceration of others, the S.U.C. remains an influential part of the Houston community. Also, it remains an essential part of the southern hip-hop scene. Furthermore, one of the most popular songs on ESG’s 1994 debut album, Ocean of Funk,‌‌ ‌‌is‌ ‌”Swangin‌‌ ‌‌&‌‌ ‌‌Bangin”.

Megan Thee Stallion Reportedly Dismisses Lawsuit Against Former Label

Megan Thee Stallion has reportedly filed to dismiss her ongoing lawsuit against 1501 Certified Entertainment, her former label and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prince. The Houston rapper filed the suit in March of 2020, accusing the label of blocking her from releasing new music. Possibly due to her wanting to renegotiate what she saw as an unfair contract.

Megan’s side of the story

“When I signed, I didn’t really know what was in my contract,” Meg said in an Instagram livestream. “I was young. I was like 20. I ain’t know everything that was in that contract. So when I got with Roc Nation, I got management-real management. I got real lawyers and they was like, ‘Did you know that this is in your contract?”

In spite of this, 1501’s CEO Carl Crawford dismissed the allegations at the time, saying, “It’s a whole lie. Nothing is true that she said. Me being greedy and taking money from her, that’s crazy. I never tried to take nothing from her. The only thing we ever did was give, give, give.”

Regardless, Megan was granted a restraining order against the label to prevent them from stopping any further release of new music. In August of 2021, Megan was also granted permission from a court to release her remix of BTS’ Butter after 1501 prevented her from doing so.

Though as time went on, Crawford became more optimistic that he and Megan could put their differences aside. In a December 2021 interview, he said, “Like really, things always went left. We still don’t have a real reason why things went left. Everything is cool with her, like I said we wish her the best. We’re just going to keep doing our thing, 1501.”

A twist to the tale

The legal documents for the suit’s dismissal state, “Megan Pete hereby nonsuits all of the claims she has asserted in the above captioned lawsuit against 1501 Certified Entertainment, LLC, Carl Crawford and James Prince, without prejudice to the re-filing of the same.”

In response, Crawford reacted to the news on Tuesday with an Instagram post that included a caption saying, “Only the real [H] town can relate. Now tell ’em to run my bread dating all the way back from 2018.”

However, it seems the drama may not be over. Shortly after Crawford’s post, Megan had comments of her own in regards to the lawsuit’s status.

“This dude never know wtf is going on with his business,” she wrote. “The case that was dismissed against you was from when you wasn’t trying to let me drop music… you and 300 signed off and let me drop music so there is no case no more…we are most definitely STILL IN COURT and YOU STILL GETTING SUED BC YOU OWE ME MONEY!!!”

Megan has since deleted the post, but it seems  the legal troubles may not be over just yet.
