Pusha T’s Its Almost Dry

The tour is in support of the rapper’s latest album of the same name, It’s Almost Dry. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, making it his first album to do so. The 12-track LP includes “Neck and Wrist” with Jay-Z, “Call My Bluff” and “Let the Smokers Shine the Coupes” which he performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The album also includes features with Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert, Don Toliver, Kid Cudi and Labrinth. Pharell and West also produced the majority of the album. It serves as the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2018 album Daytona, also with production from West

The first phase of the tour began May 23 in Seattle along with stops in Los Angeles, CA, and made stops in Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Charlotte, North Carolina. During his show in Los Angeles, he surprised fans by bringing out Pharell and even giving him flowers. “Without Pharrell, there is no ‘It’s Almost Dry’,” Pusha T told the crowd.

Within weeks after the Los Angeles show, Pusha made an appearance at Pharell’s Something In The Water Music Festival in Washington, D.C., where he reunited with No Malice as Clipse.

Pusha T’s New Music Video For Pharrell Produced ‘Call My Bluff’

Yesterday, Apr. 27th, Pusha T released a music video for the standout track “Call My Bluff” from his new album. This is one of the several Pharrell Williams produced bangers from Pusha’s fourth studio album It’s Almost Dry.

The dark & haunting “Call My Bluff” music video is directed by Omar Jones & Onda. The visuals feature scenes of the Virginia legend at a dining room table with old people, rapping in a telephone booth, and much more. It perfectly captures the aesthetic of the song & pushes the album’s overall themes. Take a look at the video below:

Pharrell Vs. Kanye Production On It’s Almost Dry

Pusha T’s new music video is a fan favorite from the album mainly due to its hard-hitting 808 patterns or smooth instrumental palette. Many fans & critics online have debated who provided Pusha with the best beats for this album between Kanye West & Pharrell Williams. After all, the two genre-pushing producers each split the album in half. Kanye most notably produced the album’s popular lead single “Diet Coke” and “Hear Me Clearly.” You can watch the music videos for both tracks below:

Another Successful Year For Pusha T

Pusha T is a rapper who’s maintained longevity in a genre that’s used to legends being forgotten. In short, this year is proving to be Pusha T’s best as a solo act. Not only was his collaborative ad with Arby’s a success, but It’s Almost Dry is even projected to move between 50,000 to 55,000 units according to Hits Daily Double. That’s a major accomplishment for someone that has been in the game for over 2 decades at this point.

“Neck & Wrist” By Pusha T And JAY-Z Strikes Listeners

Pusha T officially announces the release of his new album on Wednesday (Apr 6). Moreover, its singles are already catching steam.

Pusha T’s Album

The hip-hop MC gives the scoop on Twitter, revealing the new project “It’s Almost Dry” alongside the “Neck & Wrist” single featuring JAY-Z.

“Album title: I.T.’S ALMOST DRY,” he tweets. “Phase one of the tour coming to a city near you… TIX GO ON SALE FRIDAY 4/8.”

Great anticipation awaits Pusha T’s upcoming album. The Virginia Beach native’s last release was “Daytona” in 2018. Therefore, the “Neck & Wrist” single featuring JAY-Z and Pharrell Williams is a sneak peek into the album. The single is currently trending at No. 13 on YouTube.

Jay-Z’s Backstory

Conversation surrounds the song as JAY-Z addresses one of the most controversial topics of all hip-hop. Since the passing of The Notorious B.I.G., fans have speculated that Hov would not be as infamous if he were still alive.

However, during his verse, the hip-hop mogul shares that he wouldn’t believe that he had made it thus far either. JAY-Z went from the streets to the elite. Still, he’s here.

“They like, ‘If BIG was alive, Hov wouldn’t be in his position,” he raps. “If BIG had survived, y’all would have got The Commission’/Hov was gon’ always be Hov/It ’twas the universe will ’cause Allah said so, and now I’m here.”

The Commission was a supergroup that included Biggie Smalls, JAY-Z, Diddy, Lil’ Cease, Lance’ Un’ Rivera, and Charli Baltimore. Unfortunately, the group was short-lived due to Biggie’s demise. However, Biggie released “Whatchu Want,” featuring JAY-Z and Diddy, in 1996.

Defending Hov

Notable hip-hop figures express their perspective on social media, defending Hov’s success. The record executive Punch admits that he finds it challenging to listen to amateur rap after hearing the bars of Jay-Z.

“Jay Z is THE G.O.A.T.,” he writes. “Not A Goat but THE G.O.A.T…. I can’t listen to this man’s verses and then listen to what’s going on currently and say it’s good. Celebrating mediocrity stops right now.”

In addition, Jermaine Dupri, owner of So So Def record label, was left mind-blown after listening to the Brooklyn native’s verse. Then Hov’s long-time friend and engineer Young Guru tweets, “H.O.V. was always gonna be H.O.V.!”

In addition, Pusha provides his upcoming tour dates. The “It’s Almost Dry” tour begins in Seattle on May 29 and ends in Philadelphia on June 23. In addition, he is touching down in major cities across the nation, including Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta.
