New video evidence has come to light that shows Instagram and Onlyfans model, Courtney Tailor, attacking her boyfriend. As previously reported, police responded to a call where they found Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli, Tailor’s boyfriend, with a knife wound in his heart. Obumseli was taken to the hospital where he would later be declared dead.
This later resulted in Courtney Tailor being arrested in Hawaii for second-degree murder. However, the new video is said to be captured months before his death. This indicates that Tailor assaulted her boyfriend prior to his death in Miami.
The video is taken from a security camera located in the elevator of a building. In the video, that’s only about a minute long, Tailor is shown to be annoyed while trying to pick a floor which results in her punching the screen. Obumseli walks in a few seconds later and tries to calm down his girlfriend only for her to turn and begin hitting him. She beats on him and tugs on his hair before he tries to push her away. See the full video obtained by TMZ.
TMZ also obtained the arrest warrant for Courtney Tailor which states the video was taken in February. The warrant states that “Courtney and Christian had a tempestuous relationship since Nov 2020, with multiple incidents of domestic violence from both sides over the period of the relationship.”
The warrant also paints the picture of Obumseli’s death in a rather graphic way. The documents also state Tailor was arrested in July of last year in Vegas for domestic battery against Obumseli. Cops spoke with Tailor’s mother who confirmed she was on the phone with her daughter at the time of the stabbing. She told officers that she could hear her daughter yelling at her boyfriend, saying he was “lying”. Cops also stated that Courtney herself admitted to killing her boyfriend. However, Tailor added,
“I really don’t know if this was justified at all.”
Inmate Valon Vailes is currently serving a 20 year sentence for the intent to distribute marijuana. He is 16 years into his sentence, and on his own has almost no chance of an early release. Lucky for him, Jay-Z has taken up his flag. The rapper, his team, and his lawyers, led by one Alex Sprio, have become advocates for Mr. Vailes. They believe that he has more-than qualified for a “compassionate release.” Mr. Vailes is currently fighting his second attempt at attaining freedom, but new court documents may turn this case on its head. According to TMZ, documents that they have obtained indicate that Mr. Vailes is currently being denied release because he ate some leftover chicken and used his prison uniform to workout.
Valon Vailes has served more time than necessary for his past crimes.
As a citizen who has met all requirements for compassionate release, he does not deserve to be held in prison for bringing leftover chicken out of the mess hall. pic.twitter.com/wzZj8em8dH
Why is Valon Vailes in jail in the first place? FMHipHopreported on the story when Jay-Z first became the patron of Mr. Vailes over 3 months ago. The inmate was charged with conspiracy to distribute over a ton of marijuana, over a 4 year period. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and will require 10 years of supervised released once his term is over. After serving 13 years of his sentence, Mr. Vailes petitioned for a “compassionate release.” Many wished him well and supported his petition, donating to Change.org 2 years ago.
However, this request was denied on the basis of his COVID vaccination status. But he’s not giving up.
Mr. Vailes, with the help of Jay-Z’s Team Roc, has request a second petition for compassionate release. I covered what exactly a compassionate release is while writing about Louis Manna, the Mafia man who tried to kill John Gotti. As a summary, a compassionate release sidesteps the warden of his current facility and seeks judicial release. To secure this, Jay-Z and Team Roc need to prove two things: First, that Mr. Vailes has exhausted administrative procedure within the facility, and secondly that there exist, “compelling and extraordinary reasons” for his release.
Compelling and Extraordinary Reasons
The classic example of a “compelling and extraordinary reason” is terminal illness, although that wasn’t enough for Mr. Manna. For Mr. Vailes this means he was denied release when his grandmother died in 2009, when his nephew died in 2020, and when his mother died of COVID later that year. These deaths have heavily impacted the Vailes family. Of particular note is Mr. Vailes’ brother, who suffers from mental illness. With the death of his mother, Valon Vailes is now the sole caretaker for his brother.
A major point of contention in the Vailes case is the increasing legalization of the substance in question. Americans as a people just aren’t as strict about weed as they once were. In the time that he has been in prison, no fewer than 24 states have legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes. 18 states have further legalized the drug for recreational purposes.
North Carolina, where Mr. Vailes was sentenced, has also specifically lessened its marijuana laws. At the time of sentencing, Mr. Vailes took a plea deal for the minimum amount for the minimum sentencing of 20 years in prison. If he were sentenced today, for the same crime, the minimum sentencing would have been 15 years.
Jay-Z is disgusted by Federal Behavior
Jay-Z and Team Roc believe Mr. Vailes meets the criteria for a compassionate release. Mr. Vailes has been an exceptional inmate. Mr. Vailes has received almost no disciplinary action since his incarceration. In fact, he has used the time to better himself, getting his GED.
The final spurs, according to Team Roc, are two minor disputes. Firstly, that Mr. Vailes snuck chicken out of the mess hall to eat while in his cell. Secondly, that he used part of his prison uniform (which is owned by the prison) during a workout routine. For these minor infractions, Mr. Vailes is still being held in prison.
Here is what Valon himself has to say:
“My family needs me home. While incarcerated, I have lost loved ones. My mother passed in 2020, my grandmother in 2009. My nephew in 2020. Also, my best friend died from COVID in 2021. I have four children, the youngest is 1.4, and 3 grand-daughters. A lot has changed in my life, but most importantly, I have a newfound view of society. Therefore, I pledge to my family, my children, and myself that my incarceration would not be in vain. This correspondence is a plea to ask for your help with the intent to campaign for my clemency. 13 and a half years is a long time to be still incarcerated over a substance that has become the ultimate green rush.”
Louis “Bobby” Manna was denied an early release two weeks ago, on November 16. This is not the first time he has petitioned for a “compassionate release,” and not the first time it has been denied. The mobster was initially convicted in 1989 for his involvement in the murder of Irwin Schiff and conspiracy to commit murder. His intended victims? John and Gene Gotti, fellow mobsters from a rival family.
The same Gotti who is the namesake for Berner’s new album, which isn’t the first time a rapper has been inspired by the Mafia. Visit our home page for more stories about the famous and the infamous.
The Makeup of a Mob Family
To understand the magnitude of Manna’s conviction, knowing how a Mafia Family generally operates is necessary. Initially, a single man controls the Families. Though they acted largely independently, one man called the capo dei capi, or the Boss of Bosses held absolute power. This made that man a target. In the 1930s, Salvatore Maranzano overthrew the current capo dei capi and took the role for himself. He formed the Five Families and expected them to pay tribute. This, in turn, led to his own murder, arraigned by Lucky Luciano. Lucky realized that if he were simply to take the title for himself, it would only be a matter of time before he too was murdered. Instead, he abolished the capo dei capi and created The Commission.
The Commission was an organized council consisting of the bosses of the Five Families and the Boss of the Chicago and Buffalo Families. This radical restructuring aimed to reduce violence between the Families by creating an official forum to discuss disputes and enforce rules. For example, no man could become a Boss without approval from The Commission.
The Family Tree
On a Family level, the Mafia maintained a regimental hierarchy. The three positions of command in the Family were called the Boss (or Don), the Underboss, and the consigliere. Typically, the Boss held most of the power in the Family and made all the final decisions. No one argued with the Boss, except for the consigliere. A consigliere acted as an advisor to the Boss.
In many cases, his job was to argue with the Boss to ensure the Family made the most profitable decision. The Underboss was the second-in-command of the Family and was responsible for the day-to-day running of the Family. If the Boss was someone incapacitated or arrested, the Underboss usually took over.
The Mafia Hierarchy
Finally, we have the caporegime, or capo, a term meaning “captain.” A caporegime was the leader of a specific crew of soldiers within the Family. Each crew largely acted independently from the rest, but all were loyal to the Family.

The original crimes of Manna occurred quite some time ago. As is the case with many mobsters, the true extent of his crimes will never be known. However, the FBI eventually convicted him on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Two of his reported targets were brothers John and Gene Gotti, members of the Gambino Family. Manna himself was a member of the Genovese Family, and a high ranking one at that. He was consigliere to the Family and personally lead four caporegimes. The Genovese Family had the majority of their holdings in New Jersey. Louis Manna operated primarily out of an eatery in Hoboken.
It was no secret that Manna loathed the Gottis. They themselves are a particularly infamous pair, John Gotti being the Boss of the Gambinos. Eventually John would become known as one of the most powerful Bosses ever and gain the nickname “Teflon,” because the police couldn’t get crimes to stick to him. But at this point, he was merely a rouge. Just a capo, John Gotti managed a hostile takeover of the Gambino Family. He arraigned the murder of his Boss and was hastily installed as temporary Boss, however a meeting of 20 Gambino capos ended in them electing him permanent Boss. All of this, was done without approval from The Commission, and this infuriated Louis Manna.
From 1987-1988 the FBI was able to monitor 12 conversation between Manna and his subordinates. Using these recordings as evidence, they were able to convict him. To this day, Manna’s lawyers maintain that the evidence was fraudulent, and used to put him away for his affiliations.
The Fate of Irwin Schiff
Although those crimes never had a chance to be carried out, one man named Irwin Schiff was murdered in broad daylight. According to reports from the time, Schiff and a party of 20 were enjoying themselves at a restaurant. Schiff had already paid and was finishing up dessert when a man entered through the restaurants side, fire door and shot him twice in the back in of the head. While these kinds of brutal executions weren’t unusual for mob related incidents, the victim himself was. For starters, nobody could seem to agree on who the man was.

Man of Mystery
Oh he was well-known and his identity wasn’t a secret, but people held vastly different opinions of him, and they never quite fit together well. To many, he was kind, generous, and loved to laugh. Though they held him in admiration, some noticed that he was wealthy, but never seemed to work. One Hank Schwartz said, “He always seemed to have plenty of money, but I never knew his source of income.” What kind of work Schiff was employed in would never quite be pinned down. Legally, Schiff was the owner of the Construction Coordinators Corp. of Queens, a business that somehow managed to operate with no offices and no telephones. Furthermore, the IRS indicted him on charges of tax evasion. He reportedly facing fines of up to $1 million, which would be around $2.3 million today.
Where exactly all this money came from, nobody could say. Several anonymous sources disagree on the motive behind the hit. One source claims that Schiff was a loanshark, and had owed money to the Families. Another claims that he was lending money to the Families and somebody didn’t want to pay up. One final source suggests that Schiff was turning double agent and had begun to spill secrets to the FBI. Really, the only facts that can be confirmed from the case are that Schiff was indeed killed, his personal bodyguard (which is totally normal for a construction worker to have) said he wasn’t supposed to have gone out that night, and that only one of his party of 20 was ever seen again.
The Decision Against Louis Manna
In April of 2020, Louis Manna’s daughter filed a request for the early release of her father,
My father is no threat to society. He has been a model inmate. He has a loving family who misses, loves and worries sick about him everyday. I am terrified for my dads health and well being. I dont feel he could survive Covid 19 virus. Please consider releasing my dad based on his age, health, and 30+ years time served so he does not die. My dad is my world.
This request was denied by the Warden, who believed that COVID was an inadequate reason for early release. Shortly thereafter, Manna put forth his own, judicial request, using similar arguments. In short, there are two requirements for a granted “compassionate release”: The inmate has to demonstrate that he has followed administrative procedure before resorting to judicial action, and the inmate must have, “compelling and extraordinary reasons exist to justify compassionate release.” One such extraordinary reason would be terminal illness, and although Manna is currently receiving treatment for cancer, it was ruled insufficient.
In October, argued that Manna had “paid his debt to society,” but on November 16, 2021, Manna was once again denied a compassionate release. Louis Manna’s current sentence last until 2054. At the time of release, Manna would be 124, essentially, a life sentence.
The rapper Pooh Shiesty may be celebrating the new achievement of his new album from jail. The artist was denied bail even after the victim recants.
The artist was denied bail even after the victim of a shooting incident recanted! Shiesty originally received a $10K bond, but it was withdrawn because of a previous shooting in October 2020.
Frivin Dor, the security guard who reported the attack, had since recanted his original statement. This gave the impression that there was some hope for Pooh Shiesty’s team after that. It has been reported that Dor was injured in the ankle and refused to cooperate with authorities. In total, Shiesty has been involved in two shootings.
He will remain in prison despite Dor’s recantation. A judge has denied the rapper’s bail bond, and he will remain incarcerated until his preliminary hearing on July 22, 2021.
What Was The Crime?
A wad of cash had fallen from Pooh’s pocket, and patrons trying to grab it is said to have led to the incident. As a result, Shiesty and Dor were escorted from the club. A warrant states that once Shiesty got his gun, he shot the security guard.
Dor later stated that he did not remember talking to the authorities due to the effect of painkillers at the time. Pooh Shiesty is looking at twenty years in prison. Pooh Shiesty’s attorney Saam Zangeneh said, “That doesn’t change our position as to his 100 percent innocence, in both state and federal matters.”
Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, asks for more time to prepare for his upcoming trial. Because he did not register as a sex offender when he moved to California, Petty could face jail time. He and his bride moved from New York to California. Not informing the state they now call home that he is a sex offender.
The trial is linked to the crime back in 1995 for the first-degree attempted rape of a teenager. The teenager at the time of the attempted rape was only sixteen years old. The prosecutor accused him of using a sharp object to force the girl to have sex with him. Leading to his jail sentence.
This almost thirty-year-old crime has resulted in Petty previously spending four years in prison.
Kenneth Petty Wants His Trial Date Pushed
According to certain documents, he wants his trial date pushed to August! Petty has a new legal aid team to assist him in the upcoming trial. There is new evidence to go over to prepare for the trial. Some of the evidence consists of 800 pages of reports, audio records, videos, and much more.
Petty is also asking for the trial to be pushed due to personal reasons regarding his wife. Due to the upcoming trial, he cannot leave the state of California. TMZ reports that he has filed with the courts to modify the terms. To allow him to travel with his wife outside of those curfew hours. It’s because he’s her manager.
The baby will also be closer to Petty if she goes into labor outside of California, a very real possibility since his wife can still travel for work or otherwise, with pandemic conditions still in place.
