Kehlani Releases ‘Blue Water Road’ Tour Merch

This has been a busy year for Kehlani. The singer, currently on tour with Rico Nasty and Destin Conrad, released their third studio album, Blue Water Road,  earlier this year. And between going to making a cameo on season three of The L Word: Generation Q and beefing with TikTok menace, Christian Walker, their schedule isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In honor of the album drop, Kehlani dropped merch at the end of July.

The merch includes sweatpants, tote bags, hoodies, crewnecks, t-shirts, and trucker hats ranging in price from $35 to $85. There are also posters available, for $30. One of the tour shirts, features an image of Kehlani from the Christian Walker Starbucks “altercation.” The shirt is aptly named, the “Don’t Bother Me” tee. The merchandise went on sale July 29, though the album came out back in April. The gray sweatpants with Kehlani’s name down the leg, go up to 2xl in size. The crewnecks, long and short tees, also range from small (s) to 2xl. You can also purchase most pieces in installments using ShopPay.

Where Can Fans Cop The Merch?

The merchandise is available exclusively at bluewaterroadmerch.com. These items are available in a variety of cool-toned colors like blue, white, gray, and brown. If Kehlani’s fans want the merch, they’s better hurry before it’s sold out. Fans are bragging on Twitter about their purchases, and they appear to be a lot of happy customers. As for the tour, it will continue for the rest of the year in the US and Canada in cities including Oakland, CA where the singer is from. Next year, European fans will get the chance to see Kehlani in a string of tour stops including Switzerland, Germany, Sweden,  and France. Tickets are available on Kehlani’s official website.

Radio Show Host Responds To Kehlani’s ‘Invasive’ Interview Claims

After a disastrous interview with R&B sensation Kehlani, a spokesperson for The Morning Hustle, fired back on social media, claiming the singer was less than graceful. The discussion started with one host saying, “They [Kehlani] are here, and they are she, and she is with us.” The camera panned to the singer, who immediately seemed uncomfortable.

It got worse when host Lore’l asked Kehlani a series of personal questions. Kehlani is friends with fellow R&B star SZA which prompted the host to ask Keh if they “scissored with SZA.” Lore’l also asked about Megan Thee Stallion. Kehlani explained they were all friends and left it at that. Keh intended to promote the latest album, “Blue Water Road,” during the interview, and the turn conversation took seemed inappropriate.

People on social media commented singer looked uncomfortable. After the interview, Kehlani posted on Instagram to explain what happened. The singer summed up the show as “cringy” and “invasive.” Lore’l, upset at the backlash, responded in a video clip. The host claimed Kehlani thought they were too good for shows like The Morning Hustle. This brought even more negative attention.

Kehlani’s Fans Come To The Rescue

Kehlani is an outspoken artist, so it’s no surprise their fans followed suit and came to their defense. When the “Distraction” singer said they’d be declining other interviews to promote their latest album, fans immediately understood.

Despite Lore’l’s comments about the alleged low record sales, the album debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 13. It features songs with Syd, Jessie Reyez, and Thundercat. After the interview, the singer says they are no longer doing interviews. It’s apparent Keh is choosing peace and their own mental well-being over drama.

Kehlani Takes Aim At Noel Gallagher For Anti-Harry Styles Rant

Kehlani is defending Harry Styles after a scathing critique. This Cali singer-songwriter is showing talented tv stars stick together.

Noel Isn’t A Fan

It’s hard to believe that reality-show competitions used to launch careers in this age of YouTube and TikTok. However, artists like Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, and Harry Styles are living proof. America’s Got Talent alum Kehlani is making a big statement for these often scrutinized musicians.

Former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher had some harsh words for Harry Styles in a recent interview. Styles became an overnight sensation as the most popular One Direction member in 2010. The group made a 6-year career from their X Factor appearance, but Gallagher isn’t so impressed.

“The X Factor is a TV show. It’s got nothing to do with music,” Gallagher said during an interview with The Daily Star. “Anything that has come from that, that’s got nothing to do with music,”

“You’re not telling me Harry Styles is currently in a room somewhere writing a song,” he continued. “With any joy, he’ll be surrounded by a lot of girls.”

He ended the searing rant with another blow. “I can assure you he’s not got an acoustic guitar out trying to write a middle eight for something.” Ouch.

Kehlani to the rescue

Although Styles hasn’t responded, Kehlani is defending Harry. “That person, whoever that is, can kiss my ass,” they reportedly told NME. “They might as well call me inauthentic, and I’m about as authentic as it gets. [Styles] worked his ass off to make people fall in love with him on national TV and be lumped in with a group of boys and still had to stand out from an entire group of people. That’s as authentic as it gets!”

“I’m a Harry Styles fan, clearly, but watching the transformation that he’s taken to find his own songs and his own voice, own persona, own fluidity and image – I think he’s been brave and epic. He’s f*cking tight.”

This week (Apr 29), the West Coast stunner also released their third studio album “Blue Water Road.”

Brittany Renner Spotted With YG In Los Angeles

On Thursday, social media personality Brittany Renner was seen grabbing ice cream with YG in LA. The two were seen arm in arm outside the ice cream parlor while they enjoyed each other’s company.

A photo of the moment was captured, making its way onto DJ Akademiks’ Instagram page. Recently, YG was linked with his old flame Catelyn Sparks, with whom he has two daughters. In September 2019, the Compton rapper began dating Kehlani. However, the relationship ended in February 2020 after YG cheated with another woman.

“I’ve seen the phone and there just was things that I just didn’t need to see that were not surface level things,” Kehlani told The Breakfast Club. “They were very deep and intricate and I felt like, ‘Oh. maybe I need to take a step back because I don’t think we’re on the same page as this.”

Kehlani did add that the two were not on bad terms, saying that it was “nothing but love” between them.

Brittany Renner Before YG

Meanwhile, Brittany Renner has been in several high-profile relationships through the years. Last May, the 30-year-old welcomed her first child with NBA player PJ Washington. The couple split just weeks after the baby’s birth, however.

Along with YG, rumors have circulated of flings with Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Chris Brown, and Trey Songz. James Harden, Ben Simmons, and Colin Kaepernick have also been linked with Renner.

Renner has become notorious on social media for her dating history. She came under fire in the aftermath of her breakup with PJ Washington due to the seven-year age gap between them. There were also allegations that she planned to make Washington pay $200,000 in child support. However, those claims were proven to be false.

Renner has been unapologetic in regards to her stance on relationships. She recently spoke to Jackson State football team members on predatory relationships after being invited by head coach Deion Sanders.

Kehlani Couldn’t Keep Quiet About ‘Euphoria’

The HBO hit series Euphoria is getting everyone’s blood boiling amidst the stir of drama in season two, episode six. The show is prominently known for highlighting a group of high schoolers going down a path of sex, drugs, and violence. Millions of viewers tune in to the latest episodes every week, including R&B singer, Kehlani. The 27-year-old singer goes to Instagram to express her commentary of Cassie, the infamously disliked protagonist.

In the last episode of Euphoria, Cassie struggles to cope with stabbing her best friend, Maddie, in the back after sleeping with her abusive ex-boyfriend, Nate. In this episode, Cassie is sitting in bed pondering her decision, and hanging on the wall is singer, Kehlani’s SweetSexySavage album poster.

Kehlani’s reaction

With Kehlani being a fan of the show, spotting her poster must have been exhilarating. Years ago, it was considered a goal for fans to plaster their favorite artist onto their walls. This scene is reminiscent of those times. Kehlani music expresses the roller-coaster of love. Her debut album SweetSexySavage features the hit song “Distraction,” which the chorus sings,

“Are you down to be a distraction, baby?

But don’t distract me, let me ask you, baby

Do you, do you, do you do you wanna be

A distraction, baby?”

This song suits Cassie, the widely known double-crosser, as she ends the episode moving in with her best friend’s ex-boyfriend, Nate. In this particular episode, Cassie attempts suicide while driving her family mad. Perhaps she should also use Nate as a distraction now to relieve the stress. Kehlani’s posts on her Instagram story read, “Cassie… you got my poster on yo wall girl… THIS WHAT U BEEN LEARNING FROM MY MUSIC?! Aw hell. Heal girl HEAL!” And, indeed, Cassie should probably focus her efforts on healing, but as of now, it appears she’s going down a rabbit hole.

Alongside that poster, Kehlani also spotted her 2019 album, While We Wait, on Cassie’s wall, which features songs like “Too Deep”, “Nights like this”, and “Feels”. Euphoria and Kehlani’s music also share the expression of a relatable whirlwind of emotions. As viewers, we have yet to see where Cassie’s storyline with Nate will lead, but is it safe to assume the music choice will foreshadow more dramatic events to come? I guess we’ll have to stay tuned to the next episode.

The New Yung Bleu EP- “No, I’m Not Okay”

New Yung Bleu’s EP marks up his highly successful year. The five-track “No, I’m Not Okay” comes after the artist released another “Moon Boy” album in July.

Throughout 2021, Yung Bleu received two BET “Best New Artist” nominations in two months. The only person who ever did this before is Chance the Rapper.

You can guess, things are going very well for Yung Bleu career-wise. His new record is, however, about mental well-being. Below is the tracklist:

  1. No, I’m Not Okay
  2. Yea, Save Yourself
  3. Family (feat Monica)
  4. Welcome Back, Dummy
  5. I’m Jealous

Yung Bleu mostly shares his romantic and spiritual troubles on his new EP. While depression and overall mental crush also come through, love seems to be the most bothersome subject for the artist.

What makes the record even more tragic is the current Bleu’s success. He records features with the stars like Chris Brown and 2 Chainz, visits The Kelly Clarkson Show, and receives multiple awards.

Still, the woes of love keep the artist down. Enough for Yung Bleu to release an EP, primarily dedicated to the subject.

The music creates and adds to the sadness while balancing Hip-Hop, R’n’B, and Bedroom Pop. Mellow kicks and overall “garage” sound add to the EP’s vibe. It almost seems like Bleu produced the whole album by himself at home.

Yung Bleu’s 2021

While the new EP sums up Yung Bleu’s 2021 work, the artist has reached many milestones this year. Yung Bleu’s star features include the likes of Chris Brown and 2 Chainz. The artist also released the “Beautiful Lies” feature with Kehlani two weeks ago. The music video currently has almost five million views.

Yung Bleu’s pathway to success seems to become more apparent and straightforward. He is undoubtedly on his way to worldwide fame and credibility.

Meek Mill Sees Ten “Expensive Pain” Tracks On Billboard Hot 100

Meek Mill’s latest offering, the 18-track album Expensive Pain, has landed him ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The project marks the seventh Top 10 project of Meek’s career. Billboard announced the number yesterday afternoon via Twitter.

Expensive Pain first debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, earning 95,000 equivalent album units in the first week.

Expensive Pain, Extensive Rollout

The album came with no lack of hype. In fact, Meek mysteriously teased Expensive Pain all last month, with billboards and buses plastered with the cover art appearing worldwide. He also revealed the star-studded track list only hours before the album’s release, scrawled in multi-colored Sharpie. Expensive Pain finally dropped on October 1st. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, earning 95,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

Meek proved on Expensive Pain he still has clout with the moment’s hottest artists. At the top of the list of charted singles, currently at No. 23, is “Sharing Locations” featuring Lil Baby and Lil Durk. The album also boasted contributions from Moneybagg Yo, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Kehlani and Brent Faiyaz. Meek’s collaboration with Moneybagg Yo, “Hot,” charted at No. 60 on the Hot 100.

Meek’s Turbulent Past

Meek had not released a project since 2018’s Championships, which earned him a Grammy nomination. Meek released that project in a moment of turmoil; Championships was the first album he dropped after a stint in prison related to gun and drug charges. His incarceration was widely viewed as unjust, prompting #FreeMeek to trend on social media and the rapper to release a New York Times op-ed on prisoner’s rights. Meek finally left prison in 2018, after the court overturned charges due to the credibility of a key witness. The grit and victory coursing through Championships proved his time behind bars sparked a fire within him. Now a few years into freedom, Meek advocates for fellow rappers facing incarceration, most recently Pooh Shiesty.

Expensive Pain explores Meek’s struggles in the aftermath of his battles against opps in the streets and the Pennsylvania penal system itself. Where Championships felt like an explosive victory lap, Expensive Pain is more reflective, and finds Meek grappling with wealth, fame, isolation and paranoia. A former opioid user whose been open about his “zero-tolerance” policy for pills, Meek does not shy away from themes of addiction and dependency. Though tracks like “Sharing Locations” prove the rapper always has a banger up his sleeve, Expensive Pain’s raw emotional content feels refreshing. Though Meek continues to mature, every project prove’s he’s still loyal to his Philly roots.

Yung Bleu, BET’s Best New Artist, Releases New Music Video

Yung Bleu has teamed up with Davido to deliver a fresh new music video for Bleu’s song “Unforgiving.” The standout track comes off the rapper’s debut album, Moon Boy.

The video was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria, over the summer. The basis of the plot is Yung Bleu growing up and falling in love with his childhood friend. However, what might sound like a broadly used narrative, comes off in an unexpected yet very creative way. All the small, creative details Bleu includes in the video pull that off.

Bleu manages to create organic mix of natural and surreal. As pictured below, everyday settings and attire have some minor, unexpected details to them. Ones you wouldn’t expect to approach in your everyday routine.

Futuristic glasses add to the repairman suit, making it look like a supersuit. Furniture levitates around the rappers as they sit in ordinary living spaces, as if they were magicians moving objects with rap wizardry.

It almost seems like the camera lens is showing a world through a kids’ eyes. Growing up, real and surreal always mix. A similar feeling is captured in the “Unforgiving” music video.

The various joys of non-surreal life are also there: childhood lifelong friendships, romance, family. The video also doesn’t show any decadent life pleasures (expect maybe owning a space shuttle.) But even though shuttles strive for the glory of discovery and exploration, discovering something more significant, actual astronaut training is the opposite of decadent. This adds to the pattern of both otherworldly and everyday imagery in the music video.

The video’s composition ties together the whole experience. Bright and vivid colors make the setting appear light and sunny. The clip was directed by Dammy Twitch.

BET Calls Yung Bleu The Best New Hip Hop Artist

Less than a day ago, BET awarded Yung Bleu as their 2021 Best New Hip-Hop Artist. So far, 2021 has been a very successful year for Yung Bleu. He released his debut album in July, with features from H.E.R, Kehlani, Moneybagg Yo and many more. The record debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200 and #15 on the Rolling Stone 20. Moon Boy’s “Baddest” feature with Chris Brown and 2 Chainz currently has more than 30 million views on YouTube.

Yung Bleu is also currently touring dozens of cities. Be sure to check if there’s a show in or near your hometown! You won’t want to miss this Moon Boy’s astronomical rise.

Lizzo Looks Drop-Dead Gorgeous In Birthday Bikini Photos

Lizzo Looks Gorgeous in Bikini Photos Celebrating Her Birthday

Lizzo stunned everyone worldwide after dropping gorgeous pictures of herself during her birthday. While celebrating her special day in Las Vegas, the singer/songwriter wore a cheetah-inspired two-piece with gold jewelry and braids. The most remarkable element of the collage she provided us was the special effect on her hair. It seems as if three balloons are supporting her braids so that they can float in the air.

“Another year for the history books and anotha look for ya mood board B*TCH,” she wrote as her caption.

Recently, Lizzo linked up with Kehlani and SZA, making fans wonder if there’s a potential collaboration in store.

For now, let’s enjoy her gorgeous bikini photos, and  wish Lizzo a Happy Birthday!
