“Top Notch” By Mahoney (feat. Monaleo): A Celebration Of Girl Power

Mahoney, a Bay Area singer-songwriter, is back and better than ever! Her current track, “Top Notch,” produced by Starski and featuring Monaleo, was poised to be the new ladies’ anthem as the year 2024 concluded.

Sometimes, women become overwhelmed and feel like giving up. But there’s always something to motivate them to keep going. Could it possibly be a song such as “Top Notch?” This song is all about girl power, pushing one to keep rising no matter what.

Mahoney’s “Top Notch”

One cannot allow barriers to derail them from their life’s mission, no matter how many there are. Mahoney and Monaleo are aware of this.

As Mahoney shares,

“This song really reflects where I am right now, and I’m super excited to share that with everyone.”

“I said I’m top notch; you can’t see me; I’m in the top spot,” the duo sings on the catchy melody.

The Emphasis

The song emphasizes the artists’ sass and confidence as they promote their accomplishments, position, and unique style. As the lyrics convey, Mahoney and Monaleo are proud of their victories in life, which can inspire others in many ways. But how?

Some may avoid revealing their accomplishments to others because they fear being perceived as braggadocious. However, these two women exemplify fearlessness, going to great lengths to speak highly of themselves.

“Top Notch” And A Collaboration With Mozzy?

“It just keeps getting better. On Your Way,” created by 30Hertz and featuring Sacramento’s Mozzy, is also available! This track showcases another one of Mahoney’s talents—her vocal ability. Mahoney raps and sings—that is multi-talented, wouldn’t you say?

Mozzy’s Impact on Mahoney

Mozzy, the featured artist, has collaborated with well-known rappers such as Sada BabyDave East, and Young Thug. This makes Mahoney’s opportunity to collaborate with him incredible, as it signals fresh possibilities await her and that’s exciting.

Many times, when a person appreciates and excels at their skill, they are surprised by the amount of praise they receive. But the more time and effort a person devotes to their craft, the more unexpected opportunities they will acquire.

FM Interviews: Lil Dallas On Incarceration, Life Changes, And Rap Career

A person’s life can change for the better when they make good choices. On Oct 7, FMHipHop interviewed upcoming rapper Dallas Roquemore, better known as Lil Dallas, on incarceration, life transformation, mixtape, and more.

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Dallas grew up alongside rapper Mozzy. Growing up in the same neighborhood, the two were extremely close and often rapped together.

The Imprisonment Of Lil Dallas

During his time in custody at Salinas Valley State Prison, Roquemore was 16 years of age. Upon being asked whether he would mind sharing the decisions that led to his imprisonment, he provided an answer that would open the eyes of anyone.

“I was being chased by someone, and I defended myself by shooting at him,” the rapper said. “The police happened to be parked across the street and caught everything on camera.”

Furthermore, during his time in prison, he realized that the only reason he and his community engaged in gang conflict was that that was what they were raised to do. There was a normalization of gangs and drugs and easy access to them.

Nevertheless, Dallas was fortunate to experience one good thing while incarcerated. He met his wife, and they married each other in the facility. That moment must have felt uplifted his spirit, considering the experiences he has faced in his life.

Enhancing One’s Quality Of Life

As Lil Dallas took time to reflect on himself, he realized that all his bad decisions were due to being under the influence. In addition, he decided to put his faith in his passions and family members.

As soon as he was released from prison, the Sacramento native began working with Healthy Life Recovery to share his experience to inspire others to make better choices.

“I am a manager of business development for the greater Sacramento area. A lot of people can relate to my story, and my goal is to help give people confidence to get properly diagnosed and receive the help they deserve and need.”

His involvement with the institution continues to this day.

Personal experience holds a great deal of significance. Through the storytelling, Dallas reaches out to adults and children who grew up in gang-ridden and drug-infested environments.

Taking The Rap Career Path

Apart from his role as a manager, Roquemore is also pursuing a career in rap. His interest in rapping began at an early age. “I started rapping when I was 10 years old, but I started taking it seriously when I got incarcerated,” he said.

Furthermore, Dallas would likely have achieved stardom alongside his childhood friend Mozzy had he not gone to prison. However, the good news is that it is not too late. In Dallas’s life, Mozzy is an inspiration, and he anticipates collaborating with him on an album shortly.

Meanwhile, on Sep 16, Lil Dallas released his debut mixtape, Finally Free. The meaning behind this project resonates with his realization of freedom in his daily life. “I was incarcerated for 11 years, and all I can think about is I’m finally free!! So I decided to name my project that.”

In response to the question of whether Roquemore had any performance opportunities, he said he was about to go on tour with Mozzy. Unfortunately, due to Lil Dallas’ parole status, he could not go.

Lil Dallas Has One Artist In Mind With Whom He Is Eager To Collaborate

Undoubtedly, most emerging artists would like to collaborate with established artists at some point in their careers. Besides being exciting, it also enhances your public image.

“I would like to collab with EST.GEE,” Lil Dallas said. “He is the hottest out right now, and I think we would make a hit together.”

As a result of his experiences since he was a child, Dallas would tell young people currently involved in gang activity, “It ain’t worth it! Stop while you’re ahead and enjoy life.”

Lil Dallas’ new mixtape, “Finally Free,” is available on “all digital platforms.” Click the links below to listen to them. Nikiya Biggs interviewed Lil Dallas.

Mozzy Gets Down to Year-Long Jail Term for Gun Possession

Timothy Cornell Patterson, an American rapper, known as Mozzy, has started his one-year sentence for gun charges. The imprisonment for Mozzy on a federal gun charge is coming a year and six months after the incident. The 35-year-old rapper is from Oak Park, Sacramento, California.

The police stopped Mozzy for a traffic offense in his state of California. They discovered that the rapper and songwriter possessed a firearm.

According to a case filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in September 2021, “TIMOTHY CORNELL PATTERSON knowingly possessed a firearm, namely, a Glock Model 26 Gen 4, 9mm caliber pistol…16 rounds of Speer 9mm Luger caliber ammunition, in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce.”

The court document further states that in Nov 2014, in Sacramento, Mozzy “possessed such firearm and ammunition knowing that he had previously been convicted of at least one of the following felony crimes.”

Before the hearing, Mozzy was released on bail. The Sacramento artist eventually had to present himself to start his yearlong prison stay. In a statement released to the media, Mozzy acknowledges that bad situations happen, but one has to handle them. “life comes at you fast… It’ll get slimy out here,” the artist explained. Also, the rapper appreciates his loved ones. “Chin up, chest out. Love you the most,” Mozzy said.

Mozzy’s Pre-Jail Last Minute Achievement

Just a week before Mozzy handed himself to the police, the rap artist entered a new stage in his music career. He released his seventh studio album, Survivor’s Guilt. The solo record with 15 songs includes “Not The Same,” “Tell The Truth,” “Murder on My Mind,” and “Make The News.” The album is the first for the label Collective Music Group, Yo Gotti’s CMG.

Initially known as the Cocaine Muzik Group, the group signed Mozzy earlier this year. The artist uses “Survivor’s Guilt” to talk about heartbreak, wounds inflicted, and time served. The new album reveals Mozzy’s mental health story, what pride did in preventing earlier acknowledgment of the issue, and the eventual acceptance.

Eminem’s Feature with Skylar Grey, Mozzy, and Polo G Is Real

A rumored new track with Eminem, Skylar Grey, Mozzy and Polo G is finally here, with proof.

While the official premiere of “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” is still to come, some fans have already had a chance to view the new film in private screenings. One lucky viewer told South Pawers about the Eminem feature in the upcoming movie soundtrack, which reportedly plays during the end credits. Another fan confirmed via Reddit that the new track also features Skylar Grey, Mozzy, and Polo G.

Eminem's Feature with Skylar Grey, Mozzy, and Polo G Is Real & A Part Of The Movie Soundtrack
Fan(s) reporting on the new song via Reddit

Earlier this month, Mozzy’s team hinted at the upcoming collaboration. Polo G has also told fans to stay alert for new music coming out on October 1st. However, Mozzy’s management and Polo G later deleted their tweets. On top of that, Skylar Grey also recently followed both Mozzy and Polo G on Instagram.

Fans who reported the new track seemed happy with it. Reviews on Twitter claim that “it’s fire.” The official premiere of “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” is on October 1st.

Eminem’s Winning Streak

Eminem is predicted to come back with a vengeance this year; the upcoming “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” soundtrack is only one piece of the multiple projects expected from the artist sometime soon. Em seems to be hard at work on a new project, which fans speculate will be Marshall Mathers LP III.

The last year has been a success for Eminem. He released his album Music to be Murdered By, which achieved over 1 million views and went platinum.  He also performed at the 2020 Oscars and contributed a hit titular song to the first “Venom” movie soundtrack, which eventually gained traction as a TikTok sound. Em’s been proving he’s no rapper of the past, and it seems his plan is only to keep going harder.

Polo G on the Rise

Polo G has been on the rise as well. His recent album Hall of Fame garnered critical acclaim and went #1 on the Billboard charts. The project also boasts big-name features including Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Lil Wayne, and more. Competing with Migos’ Culture III, which was released simultaneously, each project respectively achieved the second and third largest sales for hip-hop albums in the first half of 2021.

With Polo G’s star on the rise, fans are more than hyped to see him collaborate with the legendary Eminem. And longtime Em collaborator Skylar Grey, who also had a feature on Music to Be Murdered By, is a welcome addition to the track. Though the rest of us will have to wait until the film’s official premiere on October 1st to hear Em’s newest song, early reactions from viewers promise there’s much to be excited for.

What do you expect from Eminem’s new track, and the new “Venom” movie? Let us know by interacting with us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. We love to hear what you think!
