G Herbo Preps Fans For New Double-Sided Album ‘Survivor’s Remorse’

G Herbo announced on Instagram yesterday, September 12th, that his new album Survivor’s Remorse will be dropping very soon. The Chicago artist released his last full-length album in 2021 titled 25 which received massive praise from fans & critics. Both this new album title & his 2020 album PTSD showcase Herbo’s effort to touch on his trauma & mental health. 2022 has been a year full of major releases, but now is the perfect time for the Swervo rapper to step into the mix.

What We Know About G Herbo’s New Album

Last Friday, September 9, he released a new single with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie called “Me, Myself & I“. With the album being officially announced, this single will likely end up being on the final track list for Survivor’s Remorse. Most importantly, the album is split into “Side A” & “Side B” which means we could be getting a large number of songs from him. It’ll be very interesting to see if maybe the double sides make sense conceptually in a similar way as Kendrick Lamar‘s last release. Last, Herbo’s initial Instagram post revealed the project’s cover. The main focus in the image is G Herbo in all-black attire sitting in an all-red studio with his posse faded out.

Album Title Relevant To The Times

There are probably tons of rappers & people in general that can relate to the heavy album title. Survivor’s Remorse is another way to describe survivor’s guilt. This is a topic & point of view G Herbo draws from heavily in his music. Many of his friends have passed away, but also many of his peers. Just yesterday as well, unfortunately, we learned about PNB Rock dying in LA after his location was accidentally shared. Situations like this are truly tragic and serve as a warning for all professionals in the field. With that aside, how deep on this topic do you think G Herbo will delve into the new album?

Master P Adds “Ice Cream Man” To His Memoir As He Launches His Own Snow Cone Brand

Master P continues his success in the food industry by releasing a delectable frozen treat! The cold concoction called New Orleans Style Snow Cones has different flavors like blue raspberry, cherry, grape, green apple, lemonade, orangesicle, and bubblegum. Master P has other products like Soldier and Rap Snacks, noodles, and cereal. His love for food stems from his interest in the industry. He told TMZ Hip-Hop that “companies like Kellogg’s and Kraft rooted themselves in the business and have revenue streams that outlast entertainment careers in music, sports, and movies.”

Master P hopes his business ventures will show the youth how innovative products can take them further than just talent. The former rapper has 30 years of food expertise under his belt. Additionally, he’s partnering up with Snoop Dogg for a special food project. Although the menu is still in the works, Master P says this collaboration has been set up for years.

“In order to build economic empowerment, it starts with ownership. We need more diversity in these national chain stores. Product outweighs talent and it’s ok to have more than one product. A lot of these companies start small and build their businesses on family names,” he says.

The Washington Post reported last year that Master P is the Chief Executive of P. Miller Enterprises. This endeavor has seen the launch of  common grocery items products like ramen noodles, flour, rice, breakfast cereal, frying mix, and other pantry staples. He told BET last year,

“You measure success by what you can give, not what you have. That’s why my life has grown and evolved. I’m happier helping others than all the other things that I do. So, I guess that’s where it comes from. It comes from watching my people hurt and seeing that I can be a blessing to others. We’ve been doing this for 25 years, and it’s a blessing to be able to give millions back to the community and the culture.”

He also told BET that his love for food comes from his bloodline:

” How I got into it is through my grandfather, Claude Miller,” he explains. “He was a Vietnam veteran, and he cooked for the military people. And then when he came back home, in the projects in the community, everybody always ate at our house.”

C-Murder Dedicates New Music To NBA YoungBoy

C-Murder has dropped new music which he has dedicated to NBA Youngboy. The track, called “Dear YoungBoy,” dropped on July 8. It is an audio adaptation of a letter the New Orleans native wrote to YoungBoy encouraging him to remain positive.

Through the beat, C-Murder shows his empathy for NBA YoungBoy, who has been under house arrest in Utah since being released on bond last October. The young rap star’s trial on federal gun charges began July 13.

Though the trial is young, it seems YoungBoy has already caught a break. The presiding judge dismissed lyrics from YoungBoy’s music after prosecutors tried to use them to connect him to a pistol discovered during his arrest.

“These lyrics are highly prejudicial as they discuss hardcore rap which has been empirically established to be more negatively received than other genres of music,” the Baton Rouge artist’s legal team argued. The defense also argued that the lyrics offered “very minimal probative value.”

However, YoungBoy still faces years of prison time if convicted. He also has gun and drug charges pending in his home state of Louisiana. Evidence in that case was already dismissed due to being obtained illegally.

How C-Murder relates to NBA YoungBoy

C-Murder has been in prison since 2009, serving a life sentence for his role in the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas in 2002. But the former No Limit rapper has always maintained his innocence. In 2021, C-Murder claimed that 31 hidden documents showing evidence of a DNA coverup were key to his freedom.

However, the documents weren’t presented at C-Murder’s trial. Through a publicist, the rapper argues that the sealed documents contain evidence of “the corruption that led to his current incarceration. The courts are allegedly fighting to prevent the documents from being released.

“Half my life has been stolen by the Louisiana judicial system and it stops now!” C-Murder said.
