Young Thug’s Latest Album “Business Is Business” Released During Incarceration

Young Thug, the Atlanta-bred rapper known for his innovative sound and style, has recently orchestrated a monumental album release, captivating fans with his highly anticipated project titled “Business Is Business.” Released on June 22, the incarcerated artist, who has captured the attention of music enthusiasts worldwide, made this exciting announcement through his social media channels just last Thursday.

What immediately catches the eye is the album’s striking black-and-white cover art, which transports us to a courtroom scene. Positioned in the center, Young Thug commands attention, surrounded by his co-defendants on either side. This powerful imagery raises many questions about his artistic expression and personal journey.

Following the remarkable success of his previous album, “Punk,” released in 2021, fans have been eagerly awaiting this new project, hungry for Young Thug’s distinctive blend of rap and melodic innovation. However, the circumstances surrounding this release make it even more exciting. It serves as his first full-length album since his recent arrest and later imprisonment on RICO charges, alongside fellow rapper Gunna and numerous others, as part of a massive gang indictment.

Listen to “Business Is Business” here.

With these developments in mind, we wonder: What artistic revelations does Young Thug’s “Business Is Business” hold? How have his experiences with the legal system influenced his music and outlook? Will this album further solidify his status as a boundary-pushing artist?

The Transformative Effect Of Star Support On Thug’s Album Release

After Thug dropped the bombshell, the renowned producer Metro Boomin took to Twitter, revealing the album art and fueling anticipation with a thought-provoking caption: “BUSINESS IS BUSINESS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE TONIGHT!! … FREE TWIN. I LOVE YOU.”

As if the excitement wasn’t already sky-high, influential figures like Drake, 21 Savage, and Coi Leray joined the hype, sharing the album’s mystery countdown on their own social media platforms days before the official announcement.

Do you have any idea what impact this kind of support will have on Thug’s upcoming album? How did this cryptic countdown capture such a vast audience, leaving them wanting more? It’s like an orchestra warming up for a concert. All the individual instruments are tuned, getting ready for the big show. When all the instruments come together, the finished product is much more powerful than it would have been without individual contributions. This is what star-studded support has done for Thug’s upcoming album: it’s taken it from a single curiosity to a huge thing.

From Allegations To Indictments: The Legal Chaos Surrounding Gunna

In a riveting turn of events, Gunna has recently unveiled his highly anticipated album, “A Gift & a Curse,” comprising a compilation of 15 songs. What’s even more astonishing is that this album is Gunna’s first release since his incarceration. However, the question arises: What led to his arrest in the first place?

Listen to the album here.

Enter the Young Slime Life gang, a group that strongly resembles Young Thug’s independent label, Young Stoner Life. This gang, allegedly consisting of Thug and others, found themselves caught up in a web of criminal activities. From murder and drug and gun possession to witness intimidation, carjacking, robbery, theft, and drug dealing, their list of charges was staggering. It’s difficult not to wonder how such a notorious operation could come to light.

Additionally, the prosecution’s case grew even stronger with the addition of indictments encompassing 28 individuals affiliated with YSL. These defendants faced a hefty 56 counts relating to gang activity and racketeering. Amidst this legal chaos, Gunna was accused of committing various felonies, including receiving stolen property and drug possession with the intent to distribute.

The Storyteller Within The Rapper

With Gunna’s album release coinciding with his release from jail in December, it raises thought-provoking questions about his artistic journey and his legal troubles. How will this recent chapter in Gunna’s life shape his music? Will it be a testament to his resilience and growth? Only time will reveal the many layers of Gunna’s career.

It’s as if Gunna is writing a book with each new chapter he enters in his life. His journey to this point may have had some bumps and detours. However, each new experience he adds to the story will bring a new perspective and nuance to the way he creates music.

Pretty Ricky’s Baby Blue Released From Prison and Changed His Name

Pretty Ricky member, Baby Blue, has been released from prison. He was incarcerated for a PPP scam in Dec 2021. He also promises to post more on his Instagram again. Baby Blue also decided to change his name.

On Feb 7, 2022, Baby Blue turned himself in and was sentenced to 20 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, as well as paying $1,111,345 in restitution and $1,134,782 in forfeiture. In 2020, he filed fake loan applications to obtain funds specifically allotted to small businesses as part of the U.S. Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. He had obtained over $24 million through the scam. He used the money to purchase luxury items, including a Ferrari. The car was seized when he was arrested.

When he turned himself in, Baby Blue was acting apologetic for the scam. Only time will tell if he is going to do something like this again.

Baby Blue’s Post-release changes

He was released after only 1 year through Trump’s First Step Act, which shortens federal sentences and focuses on rehabilitation. Baby Blue was released after a year for good behavior. The act had been put into place in 2018, and was the first criminal justice reform bill passed in nearly a decade.

When Baby Blue was released, the rest of the Pretty Ricky cast was there to pick him up. They confirmed that he was going to post on his Instagram again, now that he is out on the streets.

Shortly after being released, Baby Blue announced exclusively to The Shade Room that he is going to be changing his name to “Bigg Money Blue”. He had also announced that new music is on the way, as well as a book. There is no word on their release dates, or what the book is going to be about.

Teenager Who Created Neo-Nazi Videos That Ignited A Racist Buffalo Mass Shooting Is Sentenced To 11 Years In Prison

As the American writer Kilroy J. Oldster once wrote: “Hate springs from fear. Behind every hateful crime and act of human brutality is an admission of fearfulness.” In a recent case, a U.K. teen responsible for creating racist content, deeply influenced by a neo-Nazi who recorded himself murdering Black people in a Buffalo grocery store, serves 11 and a half years in prison.

For creating neo-Nazi video propaganda that advocated terrorism, Daniel John Harris, 19, will spend the next decade behind bars. His sentence warns those who choose to develop and spread hateful messages of racism and violence.

At least seven mentions occurred of Harris and his work by the shooter who live-streamed his murder of ten people at a grocery store in May 2022. Additionally, gunman Anderson Lee Aldrich responsible for shooting a gay nightclub in Colorado, killing five and injuring 17, reportedly consumed them. This serves as a dire reminder that hateful speech people produce and spread can have real-world consequences and should be of grave concern.

Daniel Harris Was Aware Of His Actions

The arrest of Harris took place on May 16, 2022, two days following the attack in Buffalo, and the U.K. teen pleaded guilty in December. Late last week, he was sentenced. Daniel’s sentencing confirms the severity of the crime. It highlights the need for global collaboration of law enforcement agencies to take swift and decisive action against the white supremacy movement.

A fairly long diary the Buffalo mass murderer kept during the days preceding the shooting also references Harris’ videos. Within the shooter’s online journal, he wrote, “Shout out to (Harris’ online name) thank you for your service.” This suggests that Harris’ videos inspired the shooter and likely directly influenced his motivations for committing the mass murder.

According to the authorities, the teenager was aware of the deadly consequences of his actions.

“The threat he posed became such that we had to act in order to ensure the safety of the wider public. The reference to one of his videos in the prelude to the Buffalo attack is a case in point,” said Counter-Terrorism Detective Inspector Chris Brett. “Harris could see the reaction his videos were getting. This was not a one-off, this was not a game, this was a concerted effort to generate a following and influence people.”

U.K. Teen Was Not Only Trying To Attract Attention

Furthermore, the U.K. teen was not content with simply drawing attention. Police allege that Harris attempted to turn his influence into a tangible weapon by using a 3D printer to create a handgun. These propagandists are using persuasive techniques to mislead and manipulate vulnerable populations, thus posing a severe threat to our global security.

Harris printed these pieces to make a 3D weapon. Credit: Derbyshire Police.

“Harris’ arrest shows the international nature of the violent online extreme right, especially the subset of individuals who glorify attackers such as the Christchurch terrorist,” Joshua Fisher-Birch, an analyst on the far-right at the Counter-Extremism Project, told VICE News. “While many of these individuals are concerned with committing attacks in their area, they are also part of this online community that seeks to encourage violence in other locations in the name of white supremacism.”

Violence – Inciting Incidents

According to Fisher-Birch, there have been other cases of supporters facing arrest for their part in inspiring extremists of the far right worldwide.

A Slovakian man, for instance, was sentenced to six years in November 2022 for his involvement in terrorist acts, and Fisher-Birch asserts that he was “an important player within the international neo-Nazi accelerationist online community and spread information helpful in committing terrorist attacks.”

In another similar instance, in February 2019, Benjamin Bogard, a college student from New Braunfels, Texas, was arrested on child pornography charges after an anonymous online tipster alerted federal authorities to his Instagram account, which featured numerous videos of him clutching weapons and threatening violence against minorities.

Neo-Nazi Videos By The U.K. Teen Remain Online

It is still possible to find remnants of Harris’s online presence, as many of the videos the U.K. teen posted can be viewed on streaming platforms with lax moderation policies. It’s like picking through a post-apocalyptic landscape to find bits and pieces of the civilization that once was. The remains of ancient artifacts are still present from time to time, but they are only a shadow of what once existed.

Among his videos are a feature-length video celebrating the Christchurch shooter and videos advocating anti-vaccination and untruths regarding COVID. As a final video, Daniel celebrated the Buffalo killings. On a Neo-Nazi video platform where the Buffalo shooter participated, only one video resonated, one where the teenager explicitly called for “subhuman” killings.

The judge who handled the case described the teenager as an extremely dangerous young man who produced obscene artwork. Also, he believes that the killers accomplished exactly what Harris intended them to do.

Daniel Harris’ sentencing occurred at Manchester Crown Court on Jan. 27. Credit: PA Media.

“You intended to encourage terrorism, and it’s plain that what was being encouraged was lethal, racist, and antisemitic violence, as well as violence against the gay community,” said Judge Patrick Field KC, according to the BBC.

Sending A Message

It can be daunting to think that no matter where we go, we could be in danger of encountering those who choose hatred and violence. The world flourishes with hatred and violence. It can be challenging to understand why some people express their hatred violently.

We must find ways to prevent and address these hateful acts to create a safer world for everyone. Our world is sinful, and there is no perfect world. Educating ourselves, our families, and our communities about the dangers of hate and violence is ideal. We should also take action whenever we witness acts of violence. All grieving families are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Spotify/Gimlet Podcast: Conviction Season 4 “The Conviction of Max B”

As the medium of modern media continues to evolve, it is fantastic to see how many different channels are available to tell stories. A new Spotify/Gimlet podcast, “The Conviction of Max B,” launched yesterday, also followed by a group release of all five episodes on Spotify. “Conviction” is Gimlet’s fourth investigative reporting season, featuring a brand new story each season.

The season opener of Conviction highlights Max B, a Harlem rapper who is just beginning to make his mark on the music scene. One night, he discovers a bag containing cash in an empty hotel room and takes advantage of the situation. The task would also not require much effort – go in, grab the money, and leave without hurting anyone. However, it does not proceed in this manner. Ultimately, chaos, kidnapping, and the death of a person are the results.

There are many interesting elements to the story, such as a rapper who risks everything to get a bag of cash, a robbery that went wrong, a chaotic trial, and a sentence that raises the question of who the justice system benefits and who it harms. Moreover, the podcast anthology series “Conviction” explores the intersection of crime and justice. Each story focuses on a different case and asks: For whom does the justice system work, and also for whom does it oppose? It seems bizarre that some people committed more severe crimes yet received shorter sentences. Seems unjust!

Each episode description of “The Conviction of Max B” follows.

All Of “The Conviction of Max B” Episodes:

●     Episode 1: Who’s 40 Grand Not Tempting To?

○     Episode Description: Max B is a well-known rapper in Harlem. That is, until one night changes everything.

●     Episode 2: Bring the Money

○     Episode Description: Max cooked up an easy score — in and out, no one gets hurt. But it doesn’t go down that way.

●     Episode 3: Never Wanna Go Back

○     Episode Description: As the police pursue Max B, time is running out.

●     Episode 4: Hell Hath No Fury

○     Episode Description: Max B goes to trial with his lawyer, Gerry Saluti, by his side. Within the courtroom, things are about to take a dark turn.

●     Episode 5: 75 in the Can

○     Episode Description: Max B’s new legal team attempts to secure his release from his 75-year sentence using a rarely effective strategy. But it is Max’s best chance unless he wishes to die in prison.

With a five-episode podcast, Brandon ‘Jinx’ Jenkins, a respected journalist, TV host, and award-winning podcast host takes listeners through the shambles that left a man dead on the night of the crime to Max B’s memorable trial in which 75 years in prison was imposed on him. This series aims to determine why someone with such potential and aptitude would risk everything in exchange for a bag of money.

Introduction To Host Brandon ‘Jinx’ Jenkins

Brandon ‘Jinx’ Jenkins grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Besides being a highly respected journalist, TV host, podcast host, writer, photographer, DJ, and multi-media artist, Brandon worked for Translation ad agency, Decon creative agency, Mass Appeal Magazine, Complex Networks, and Revolt Network. In addition, he has served as a host on Revolt’s State Of The Culture and MSG Network’s Conference Room C.

French Montana Confirms Max B Will Be Coming Home Soon

In a tweet on Jan. 9, French Montana disclosed that Max B would be released from prison in April, as he promoted Max’s new “Lemonade” video from his latest mixtape, Coke Boys 6.

“MY BROTHER WAS FACING 75 YEARS,” Montana said. “HE TOLD ME TO TELL YALL HE ‘LL BE HOME IN APRIL, SILVER SURFER.”

A botched robbery in New Jersey in 2006 resulted in Max facing 75-year imprisonment for criminal charges such as armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and felony murder. However, it is a matter of good fortune that Max, whose real name is Charley Wingate, was able to have his sentence reduced to 20 years in 2016. Also, in 2019, his sentence decreased again to 12 years.

Todd and Julie Chrisley Face Convictions

The hit reality TV show Chrisley Knows Best releases its final 10th season to air on USA Network in 2023. Instead of focusing on their season final, Todd and Julie Chrisley are spending as much time with their families before they face their convictions.

In the course of their next season for their reality show and facing these convictions, the couple is now convicted of the following charges: conspiracy in defrauding banks of over $30 million in fraudulent loans, tax crimes, and defrauding the IRS.

Starting in the new year, January 17, the two will begin serving their sentence in Florida, according to The People.

Todd, 53, is to serve 12 years and stay at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola (FPC Pensacola). Julie, 49, on the other hand, will be doing 7 years at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna.

Being two hours away from each other, they are allowed communication through limited options. With the warden’s permit, they can write letters, send emails, and mail packages to each other.

Additionally, in November, a federal judge sentenced the Chrisley Knows Best stars and added a 16-month probation service following their release from prison.

Moreover, Peter Tarantino, their former accountant, is also serving time. Charged with conspiracy to defraud the IRS, filing false documents to banks, and failing to pay federal income taxes.

Starting his service on May 1, 2023, he will be in prison for three years and three years under supervision release.

Chrisleys’ Prison Routine

As the Chrisleys begin preparing for their future sentence, here is an inside look at their daily routines. According to Page Six obtained documents, all inmates must abide by the guidelines of early wake-up calls, strict dress codes, and mandatory work.

Inmates are to always uphold their appearance per the dress code. Todd will be given the attire of green pants, green shirts, white socks, and black steel-toed shoes.

Todd must adhere to a strict schedule beginning at 4:45 a.m. every day. Breakfast begins between 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Immediately afterward, Chrisley is to return to his cell, make his bed military style, and clean his room to prepare for daily inspections.

Around 7:30 a.m. is when the work day begins and ends between 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Inmates have a variety of jobs to choose from, such as cook, librarian, landscape worker, and more. However, for Todd, the situation is different.

For this being Todd’s first time as a newbie at FPC Pensacola, he only has two options – cleaning bathrooms or washing dishes. According to Channel 2 News, he will earn 12 to 40 cents as a pay rate for a 7-hour shift.

At 11:00 a.m. is when lunch is served, while dinner is served between 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The facility offers sports/activities to keep inmates occupied in between times. Here are a few of the listed options.

  • Basketball
  • Flag Football
  • Soccer
  • Weight Training
  • Music
  • Hobby Crafts – Art or Woodworking

Furthermore, at 8:30 p.m. is a mail call following lights out at 10:30 p.m. Once Julie Chrisley arrives at the Federal Correctional Institution Marianna, she will likely undergo a similar action.

Visitation And Family

Regarding visitation, Chrisley can have up to 5 adult visitors at a time. He is permitted to share a quick embrace, kiss, and hold hands, but there is no exception for physical contact.

If Chloe, his 10-year-old adopted daughter, wishes to visit, she must be accompanied by an approved adult.

During the weekends, the prison will have more wiggle room for the reality star with coffee, brunch, and visiting hours.

Todd has two kids from his first marriage. Julie and Todd also have three kids together.

In 2017, the couple legally adopted Kyle’s daughter, Chloe. Unfortunately, in this situation, Chloe’s biological mother is striving to regain custody.

Todd has stressed she cannot do so, despite their sentence.

The Spanish Government Accuses Shakira Of Evading Taxes, Seeks An Eight-Year Jail Term

Paying taxes is necessary if you do not wish to find yourself behind bars. According to Reuters, prosecutors in Spain are seeking to sentence Colombian singer Shakira to eight years in prison for failing to pay her taxes between 2012 and 2014, totaling 14.5 million euros ($15 million).

Shakira Denies Living In Spain Between 2012 And 2014

There is not a great deal of talk in the media about Shakira when it comes to unfortunate circumstances. However, you can never be too sure about what’s happening in someone’s private life.

According to Shakira, she did not reside in Spain between 2012 and 2014. However, she still faces accusations of not paying her taxes during that period. Additionally, prosecutors asserted that “The Hips Don’t Lie” singer lived in that country during that period and that she purchased a home in Barcelona in May 2012.

Furthermore, six charges have been filed against Shakira in the accusation. As of this week, the “Whenever, Wherever” singer chose to go to trial rather than accept a settlement deal. Currently, the court hasn’t yet settled a trial date.

Brutal Fine

As far as the prosecution is concerned, the Grammy winner is not getting off lightly. Shakira is not only facing the possibility of prison time, but she may also have to pay a $23.5 million fine, the prosecutor’s document states.

There is no question that a person who makes poor choices should face the consequences of their actions. Nevertheless, imposing such a massive fine as the $23.5 million amount would be unfair, as it seems overkill.

A positive note is that different people came to defend Shakira. According to her publicists in London, the Spanish Tax Agency violated her rights. A statement released on Friday stated that she has always obeyed and complied with the law. In addition, she displays exceptional character as an individual and a taxpaying citizen.

Shakira And Her Long-Term Partner Have Separated

It’s safe to assume that the “Chantaje” singer is heavily focused on her tax situation now that she has been separated from Gerard Pique after a long relationship of 12 years, according to US Magazine.

The ex-couple began dating in 2011 and had two sons, ages 9 and 7. Early in June, reports surfaced that Shakira caught Gerard having an affair. As a result, they became the subject of headlines worldwide.

According to the YouTube channel Oh My Goal – The Best of Football, Pique addressed his separation from Shakira during a sports conference.

“I didn’t cheat on her; maybe she can’t say the same about me… I honestly don’t know what to tell you,” he said. “Is she blind and deaf? Because I told her over and over that our relationship needed to be spiced up. Perhaps she forgot, you know, she’s getting pretty old.”

According to the Spanish soccer player, he is almost in the home stretch of retirement. The former couple does not share the same interests. While he enjoys going to the gym to start each day, Shakira prefers knitting sweaters and taking walks at the mall. There is a belief among Pique that long-term relationships should undergo changes to remain healthy.

Bobby Shmurda Spilled Tea On Having Oral Sex And Smoking Weed In Prison

Police arrested and sent 27-year-old rapper Bobby Shmurda to prison in 2016 for illegal firearms and conspiracy charges. However, the star was released exactly 10 months earlier than expected due to good conduct and cooperation while doing his prison time. He was in an interview with Variety recently, where he spilled some tea.

Shmurda Brief Historic & 2016 Arrestation

The rapper had quite a tough childhood. His father, Gervase Johnson, went to jail for a life sentence for attempted murder. Growing up, Bobby’s brother Jayese influenced him to start selling cracks. Moreover, both faced accusations of murder, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and holding weapons.

Already on a tough start, the songwriter later went under arrest at the studio Quad Recording. He then came under detention at the correctional facility. According to cops, Shmurda used to be the GS9 gang leader. Law enforcement held this circle accountable for several murders, gunfights, and drug trafficking.

Following this, Bobby Shmurda got a 7-year sentence in prison, later reduced to 5 years. The hip-hop star tried to draw back his plea after calling out his lawyer for having obliged him to take it. Finally, Bobby got out of prison on the 23rd of February 2021.

Shmurda’s Prison Adventures

Miami-born rapper killed time smoking weed and engaged in sexual activities during his time in lockup. He said he ain’t got nothing better to do.

“I got oral sex, didn’t get sex sex,” Shmurda said. “I’m too big to be doing all that other sh*t, ya understand?”

Furthermore, he said he had a lovely time compared to the psych ward, where he couldn’t enjoy all of that.

Fact: Shmurda was diagnosed with ADHD and ADD at 16 years old by his doctor, and only weed helped him deal with his mental disorder or at least cope.

Bobby even tried to set fire to the psych ward at 16 only because the security wouldn’t let him out. That’s quite some nerves. Alongside his little crack-up with guards, Shmurda also had lots of fun dancing with everyone. He played from Spanish to Jamaican music. He made sure not to lose his killing steps.

Arousal of Fame

Quavo & Bobby Shmurda. Image via revolt.tv

Before he was locked up, Shmurda gained a lot of fame in the hip-hop realm and soon skyrocketed with his single “Hot N*gga.” After his release, the rapper video “Shmoney dance” gained lots of attention on YouTube and other social platforms. He returned to the studio without losing time and completed his deal with Epic Records.

Lucky enough, he got into contact with Quavo and dropped the “No Time to Sleep” single alongside many more albums. The rapper fought through some bad times, but now, better days seem to be coming ahead, unlocking many opportunities for his career.

Prosecutors Want Kenneth Petty Back In Prison

Kenneth Petty has spent 6 months in prison for not registering as a sex offender. He is spending the rest of his sentence under supervised release, in his and his wife, Nicki Minaj,’s mansion. Federal prosecutors want him back in prison.

Kenneth Petty had to register as a sex offender in New York in 1995 due to an attempted rape conviction. When he moved to California, he did not re-register. He claims that he did not know that it was a thing that he had to do. Prosecutors do not believe him because he has had an annual warning about that for the last two decades.

When it went to trial, Petty pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison and supervised release. Prosecutors looked at what he has in his and Minaj’s house. They see that there is almost no reason for him to leave his house. This punishment is a slap on the wrist. They want to more than double his prison time, to 15 months. Prosecutors also want him to have a supervised release for 5 years, as well as a $55K fee.

Why revise Petty’s punishment?

The reason for the change is because of the drastic lifestyle change that Petty had recently gone through. He quit his day job, went to the other side of the country, and has adopted an affluent lifestyle.

Petty probably ignored it because he is now rich and famous. He thinks he can do whatever he wants and get away with it, like when he and Minaj tried to coerce his attempted rape victim to recant her testimony against him to the judge, through money and threatening her family. She told them no and spilled the beans, but apparently, that did not teach him his lesson.

The revised sentence is going to be looked at on July 6.

Pooh Shiesty Sentenced To Prison For Gun Charges

Back in Blood Rapper, Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to federal prison. He was booked for gun charges over a shooting in Orlando, Florida.  Five years and three months is his sentence. However, he may get out as early as three years with good behavior.

Pooh Shiesty on TIDAL

Pooh Shiesty’s Incident

Shiesty was linked to a shooting in Orlando, Florida, after a guy was shot in the buttocks. In addition, the detail that ultimately led to his arrest was a bag of money out of a sports car he was driving days before the shooting. The bag that fell out of the vehicle was reportedly worth forty thousand dollars. The authorities traced the numbers from one of the bills to one of the ones he had on his social media. No deaths from the shooting occurred.

Big Brrrr

Gucci Mane recruited Pooh to his music group (1017) in 2020 from one of his mixtapes that caught his attention. Pooh’s style and catchphrase, similar to Gucci’s “Brrrr,” are highly noticed in the rap game of music. Furthermore, his voice also resembles the prowess and experience of a veteran rapper despite him only being in his early twenties. His most famous songs, such as Back in Blood, Neighbors, and Big Purr featuring Coi Leray, garnered a lot of attention in the communities of the south. Especially back in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is a native.

“Free Pooh Shiesty” is what will be said from the streets and his fans as he serves his time. The time and commitment that he puts into completing his time will be detailed throughout his journey in prison. Aside from the hopes and encouragement, he publicly announced that he would release music before and after his arrival in prison. Overall, he seemed very optimistic after his hearing and sentence were affirmed.

Mac Miller’s Drug Dealer Sentenced To Almost 11 Years In Prison For Selling Fentanyl-Based Pills

On Monday, Apr. 18, one of the drug dealers charged with a fentanyl overdose, which led to Mac Miller’s death, was sentenced to almost 11 years in prison.

According to Rolling Stone, Ryan Michael Reavis, 39, appeared before a Los Angeles federal court. The defendant admitted to providing fake oxycodone pills to another dealer that, in turn, killed Miller in September 2018. However, Reavis stated that he had no idea the pills contained fentanyl.

Mac Miller’s Drug Dealer Requested A Shorter Prison Term

Reavis sought a sentence of five years, while the prosecutors were seeking 12.5 years. However, after hearing an emotional statement from Karen Meyers, Miller’s mother, U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II decided that Reavis would serve ten years and 11 months.

“My life went dark the moment Malcolm left his world,” Meyers’ statement read in part. “Malcolm was my person, more than a son. We had a bond and kinship that was deep and special and irreplaceable. He would never knowingly take a pill with fentanyl, ever. He wanted to live and was excited about the future.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Karen Meyers (@_karenmeyers)

In his defense, Reavis didn’t know Miller died from the pills he provided until a year later during his arrest in Arizona.

“This is not just a regular drug case,” he told the court. “Somebody died, and a family is never going to get their son back. My family would be wrecked if it was me. They’d never be all right, never truly get over it.”

Possession Of Firearms And Drug-Related Accessories

According to the prosecution, Reavis had three guns during his arrest in Lake Havasu. There was an untraceable “ghost gun” and boxes of ammunition, “digital scales covered in heroin and methamphetamine residue,” blank prescription pads, and baggies. It also appears he continued to sell drugs after Miller’s death, as evidenced by a 2019 text. Despite knowing the risks associated with fentanyl.

The text read, “People have been dying from fake blues left and right, you better believe law enforcement is using informants and undercover[s] to buy them on the street do [sic] they can start putting ppl in prison for life for selling fake pills.”

Furthermore, Assistant U.S. Attorney Elia Herrera told Judge Otis, “Defendant knew that people were dying from fake blues left and right.
