D12’s Bizarre Claims The Game’s Eminem Diss Was Ghostwritten

Earlier this year, The Game started a one-sided beef with Eminem. However, The Game has finally caught someone’s attention — just not the attention of the person he hoped. Former member of Detroit rap group D12, Bizarre, claims another rapper penned The Game’s Eminem diss. He claims the song, “The Black Slim Shady,” was ghostwritten by his former labelmate, rapper Stat Quo. During an interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Bizarre shared his thoughts on the song.

I just feel like I couldn’t get past the Eminem voice. I know Game can rap better than that. I know he’s a problem as a battle rapper. [He’s] a guy that’s into lyrics.

Kev himself said it was “too much” and seemed like a marketing tactic to promote Game’s new album. He even went as far as to say he could’ve left the track off the album. Bizarre then explained his opinion further, saying The Game basically impersonated Em for the entirety of the song. Safe to say, he wasn’t exactly feeling this approach. “I think he could have did better — or Stat Quo could have did better.” When pressed about this, however, Bizarre responded, “I ain’t say nothing, man. Shout out to Game.” Kev defended The Game, saying he was in the studio with him and didn’t see any ghostwriters. The two quickly changed topics afterward.

What Has Bizarre Been Up To?

Since the D12’s official disbandment in 2018, Bizarre has kept busy despite personal struggles. At the beginning of 2021, the rapper, real name Rufus Johnson, was hospitalized after suffering a stroke. More specifically, a mini stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). However, that didn’t keep him away from the studio. On Halloween of last year, he released his fifth studio album, Dumpster Juice. In June of this year, he released another project titled He Got A Gun. Whether The Game had help in the studio, is still up for debate between fans. Lil Xan Sets The Record Straight On Being A “Snitch,” TDE’s Punch Responds

After alleging that his former manager, Stat Quo, provided him drugs at the peak of his drug addiction, Lil Xan straightened the record. While some have called him a “snitch” for telling, he is coming to his defense on the topic. In a recent Instagram Live video, the rapper said he can’t be labeled a rat because he isn’t affiliated with gangs.

“It’s like half are saying, ‘Yo, thank God you are spreading the word,'” Lil Xan said. “And the other half is, ‘Oh, you’re a snitch now, bro. He didn’t make you do that.’ All this stuff. Like, bro, I’m not a gang banger.”

Xan then continued to speak, “I’m a civilian. How am I a snitch? Did I go to court and rat on my gang? I don’t have a gang. You can’t snitch if you’re not a fucking gang member, bro. Miss me with that. I’m trying to help other artists, particularly in my same similar situation, not die or go down the same path and get in bad deals.”

Punch Has Some Questions

Top Dawg Entertainment’s Punch then had some follow-up questions regarding Lil Xan’s statements. In a series of tweets, he says, “This Lil Xanax things is interesting. I’m definitely not insensitive to addiction and everything that it brings, but I’m curious, how much of an artist personal life is a manager responsible for??”

He then continued, “Such irony. Cause some of the greatest music we all love was made under the influence of drugs.”

Lil Xan Taking Accountability

Lil Xan is not putting all of the blame on Stat Quo. He also mentioned on a Youtube video that the rapper blames himself as well. “[Am] I putting 100% of the blame on him?” he wrote. “No I was a drug addict how could I! Am I telling you that he was doing nothing but speeding up my drug use by supplying me the very pills that could’ve killed me? YES! I’m making this public because I know in my heart this happens way too often, and it’s how we end up losing some of the greatest artist way too young.”

Lil Xan’s real name is Nicholas Diego Leanos; he also mentioned that he no longer wishes to be known as Lil Xan. Diego claimed that Quo “knew all my plugs, so if I couldn’t perform because I was withdrawing back then – because yes, I used to be a drug addict – he would make calls, send $5,000 out here, just to ship the drugs to wherever we were.” While his name popularizes the drug Xanax, it seems he is heading in a better direction and informing fans on the dangers of substance abuse.

Lil Xan Claims his Ex-Manager Stat Quo Fueled his Drug Addiction

Lil Xan, aka Diego, has taken to Live to accuse his former manager, Stat Quo, of funneling drugs. The rapper went on tour a few years back but suddenly dropped out of the public eye. Now he’s clean and out for blood, “Stat Quo, lawyer up. Cause seriously I’m coming for you bro.”

Those versed in rap history might recall that Stat Quo was once a protégé of Eminem himself. He’s stepped back from making music and has instead been managing some up-and-coming artists, like Lil Xan and Young Aspect. According to Lil Xan, he’s become ruthless and willing to do whatever it takes to get his charges on the stage.

Lil Xan was an Addict

Diego is open about the fact that he used to be an addict and is proud of where he is now. He’s happy because he no longer slurs his words and gained weight. As seen with Juice WRLD and Lil Peep, it could very easily have gone a different way. While on tour in 2018, Lil Xan was at the height of his addiction. According to himself, his withdrawals were so severe he wasn’t able to perform on stage. Rather than stop the tour and put him in rehab, Lil Xan accuses Stat Quo of supplying him with drugs, “He knew all my plugs so if I couldn’t perform because I was withdrawing […] he would make calls.”

What’s more, Diego further accuses Stat Quo of taking his car, refusing to give it back, and asking for $30,000 “to pay it off”. Reportedly, Stat Quo took the car away because Diego didn’t have a license. However, according to Lil Xan, “I do have a license, it’s suspended, but like I want my f*****g car back.”

The Artist’s Experience

A post shared by XAN/DIEGO (@xanxiety)

Lil Xan says his little stunt with the Industry has been nothing short of abysmal. His experiences have left him feeling hurt, betrayed, and unsure of what to do next. Music seems to have lost its spark to him because it just reminds him of that time, “It’s almost traumatizing to make music at this point.” A large part of the problem is the predatory nature of the music industry. Lil Xan claims the behavior of big-time managers is sickening and exploitative.

“Thats a big reason why I havent dropped another album. […] They just want to keep you alive long enough to make their f*****g money. And if you die? Even better for them, cause guess what: it’s easier to manage a dead artist than an alive one.”

Diego says he feels used and abused. He was given drugs and thrust onto the stage so that Stat Quo wouldn’t have to cancel the tour and lose money. Then, once the tour was over, Stat Quo “sent him away” so he wouldn’t have to deal with Diego anymore. At this point, he became depressed and his addictions only worsened.

Who’s to Blame?

It’s great that Diego is in a place where he can be proud of himself. But does that excuse his past actions? Fans are divided on just how much Stat Quo is to blame for Diego’s past. One fan made the point quite clearly in their comment on the video mentioned earlier.

“The fact that you’d air someone out for supplying YOUR habit shows nothing but immaturity and lack of accountability.” (410itsdevo)

Many point out that it’s wrong for anyone to give drugs to a kid. Others point out that Diego isn’t a child anymore. They also claimed he became addicted before he even met Stat Quo. According to Lil Xan himself, his manager went to Diego’s own plugs. Drugs absolutely mess with a person’s mind, and the right thing to do would have been to get Diego help and not exploit his vulnerability, but does that make Stat Quo “The Villian?” Lil Xan says all the blame is on his manager:

“You almost lost me my life on tour. You coulda got me help, but you never did. We asked for help.”
