AOC Under Investigation For 2021 Met Gala Ensemble

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who represents part of The Bronx and Queens, is currently fighting some allegations against her based on a Met Gala dress.

A Congressional investigation is set to go forward.

What Did AOC Do Or Not Do?

The Bronx native wore a supposed expensive white dress that had red text across the back reading “tax the rich.”

AOC allegedly failed to pay on time for borrowed clothes and accessories. On top of that, the services she received related to her attendance at the 2021 Met Gala had payment delays.

Everything provided appears to have been “several thousands of dollars.”

Meet The Office of Congressional Ethics

The House Ethics Committee published the Office of Congressional Ethics findings last week.

According to the report, Ocasio-Cortez may have “accepted impermissible gifts” from the 2021 Met Gala. This violates House rules, the standard of conduct, and federal law.

The OCE initially launched this investigation in June 2022.

The ethics committee recommended further review of the allegation concerning Rep. Ocasio-Cortez. They think there is “substantial reason to believe that she accepted impermissible gifts associated with her attendance at the Met Gala in 2021.”

September 2021 Instagram Post

In addition, AOC made sure she covered her tracks in an Instagram post on a day after the gala, Sep 14, 2021.

The New York representative wrote this underneath a post that looked like a fitting with the dress on.

“NYC elected officials are regularly invited to and attend the Met due to our responsibilities in overseeing our city’s cultural institutions that serve the public,” AOC wrote in the post.

What Did The Report Say She Received?

According to the report, AOC was provided with “a couture dress, handbag, shoes, and jewelry. She also received hair, makeup, transportation, and ready-room services.”

AOC’s Office Release A Statement On The Investigation

The New York Democrat’s office released a statement opposing the allegations.

Ocasio-Cortez’s office said no violations have been found. However, the OCE did find “delays in paying vendors for costs associated with the Congresswoman’s attendance at the Met Gala.”

French Montana Talks About Being Shot in 2003

French Montana appeared on Sway’s Universe on Thursday, June 23 — a day before the release of his new album Montega. During the show, French spoke about the time he suffered a gunshot to the head in The Bronx in 2003. His former friend was the one who set him up, but he was also accountable for saving French’s life in the end.

“Your greatest threat always comes from the inside. They put staples in my head, bitch, they been tried,” French said on the show, referencing a line from his new song Blue Chills.

During the interview, Sway wondered if the Morroco-born rapper still kept in touch with his former friend. “There was no communication. There can’t be,” French said.

French Montana’s Close Call

French was leaving a recording studio in The Bronx before the shooting occurred. Two gunmen approached him, causing a fight to arise.

French realized that one of his friends set him up. “I ain’t run. We had the thing on us, they had the thing on them. But they got to their thing first,” he said during an interview in 2008. The struggle continued, and one of the gunmen pulled the trigger, shooting French in the head. “The bullet went in and out,” he said.

The man who shot French was unintentionally shot and killed by his partner during the fight. French’s ex-friend then took him to Lincoln Hospital.

French was charged with murder after the shooting. Thankfully, he beat the case. He explained that there was no evidence for the case. “His man that was shooting shot him by mistake. One shot me and his man shot him trying to shoot me.”

The Rap Game Is Not Easy

French shared his story shortly after Bronx rapper Lil Tjay was shot several times and rushed to surgery after an attempted robbery in New Jersey on Wednesday, June 22.

French told TMZ that he learned about Lil Tjay’s condition and has not spoken to him since the incident earlier this week. “It’s a bad situation. It’s hard out here for rappers, man.”

He continued, “We got the hardest job. You don’t know where it comes from, man. We think that everybody love us but everybody don’t love us.” French and Lil Tjay have a history together. The two teamed up with Blueface to receive a gold medal for their hit song Slide in 2019.

French Montana’s fans and loved ones are glad that he survived such a scary situation, and the rap community hopes Lil Tjay can pull through.

Cardi B Releases New Banger “Money”

Salutations FM Trendsetters! Miss Bloody Moves is back!  Only now, her “bloody moves” got her “money moves“!  If the multi-platinum “Bodak Yellow” was her come up ballad, then this new joint, produced by JWhiteDidIt (the genius on the boards behind Bodak Yellow), “Money” is the sequel.  Using the same infectious formula that got her famous, the Bronx’s most “braziest” bad chick, Cardi B spits heat, fire and “money”(no pun intended) on this banger.  This track will get you bopping your heads, dancing, and singing along while getting to the bag.  I call this “Bag Motivation Music“. Plus, I’m sure everybody can relate to the lyrics.  If you can’t, then you need to listen to this track to “get to the bag” immediately.
