Kanye West Claims George Floyd Died From Fentanyl

Over the weekend, Kanye West claims that George Floyd did not die from the police officer kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes, but rather from fentanyl, the deadly painkiller. He is serious.

If you had been living under a rock for the last two years, George Floyd’s death is the straw that broke the camel’s back, which led to the Black Lives Matter movement. Kanye West claims that the movement is a scam. He did have both fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system. However, it was proven that it wasn’t enough to be fatal. His breathing did not slow down enough for the fentanyl to be a factor in his death.

Kanye West claimed the conspiracy theory in the Drink Champs interview that was posted over the weekend. He cites the documentary “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM” as the source. The documentary is from his friend and rightwing commentator, Candace Owens. West saw the documentary at its premiere last week, in Nashville, Tennessee. He went with Ray J, Kid Rock, and others.

People are not happy with West and are trying to quiet him before he makes more of a fool of himself. Both Boosie Badazz, who had commented on the previous racist remarks that West has made, and Stephen Jackson, former NBA player, and friend of George Floyd, had commented on this. Badazz made several passionate tweets telling West off. Jackson made an Instagram post just calling him sad.

West’s Other Conspiracy Theory

This was not the only conspiracy theory that he shared in the interview. He also claimed that Virgil Abloh was murdered by his boss, Bernard Arnault. The only evidence that he provides is just that Louis Vuitton, the company where he worked as an artistic director, is making statues of him “like, as a martyr”. The statues are to commemorate their first African American artistic director.

Tyler the Creator’s Music Featured In Louis Vuitton Fashion Show

Louis Vuitton premiered its Men’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection on January 20. This is a unique fashion show due to it having two hip-hop stars involved with the production. The late Virgil Abloh designed the clothes, while Tyler the Creator did the music.

The fashion show was in remembrance of Virgil Abloh, who tragically passed away in November. He died of a rare form of cancer at the age of 41.

The show consists of previous pieces that Abloh had done over the years. The show can be watched for free on YouTube or via their website.

Tyler confirmed his involvement with the fashion show through Twitter after someone asked him if the music was him. He wrote “Bingo” and subseqquently added that he felt “blessed”.

On Instagram, Tyler the Creator thanked the people that he was working with, saying that he loved them. The picture was of the show’s string section, which included members of the Chineke! Orchestra.

Shortly after Abloh was reported dead, Tyler talked about him on Instagram. He called Abloh a cheerleader for himself and various other artists. “I’ll keep pushing and trying things while leaving the door open. He’ll shake those pom-poms. we’ll keep that on loop. safe travels.”

More recently, he talked about Abloh again. During an interview with Fast Company, Tyler said “I wanted him here so bad to see like, ‘Hey, look what I did. Because I wanted him to just say, ‘Fire.’ And I wanted him to know.”

YK Osiris Offers $60k Reward For His Lost $350k Earrings

YK Osiris receives laughs and fake offers as he reveals the loss of $350k earrings. Just this past November, YK Osiris was criticized for purchasing an expensive jewelry set. Well, those who pointed out Osiris’s “poor” investment are having a good laugh now. He shared the unfortunate information via his Instagram live.

While he holds out hope his jewelry will make it back to his ear, fans are all about the jokes. With his notable hefty reward, you can’t deny the math isn’t matching.

Your “Clown” Is Showing

Surprisingly, fellow wealthy subordinates were baffled by YK’s extravagant purchase. Uniquely, celebrities are known for their pricey buys, so it was shocking to see the backlash he received.

2021 has brought questions to how much money YK has. Osiris had to defend his custom-made Gucci outfit against trolls in January. 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, and Meek Mill accused Osiris of buying fake Gucci on social media. Turned out, it was all jokes and love in the community.

The late Virgil Abloh gifted Osiris a Louis Vuitton jacket to soften the blows he received. In the same fashion, Virgil meant this gift to teach that something good can come out of a bad situation.

Will YK Osiris Learn His Lesson?

Osiris has been the industry’s laughing stock lately, but he also brings laughter through his playful banter. While many have opinionated comments to share, he knows he will always prevail. Rather than sweat the small things, maybe he will buy those Claire’s earrings.
His “Ocho-coco” jokes may need revision as he now hopes to find his lost earring.

Virgil Abloh’s Final Runway Show Held in Miami

Yesterday, Virgil Abloh was supposed to do a runway show in Miami. However, the show continued on, despite his death, becoming a tribute show to the artist’s work, alongside others.  Hosted by Louis Vuitton, a wide range of influential rappers, designers and producers attended the show to pay their respects.

Virgil Abloh passed away Sunday, after battling privately with cancer for over two years. Following the news, Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Michael Burke revealed his show at Miami’s Art Basel show would still take place.

“As a devoted supporter of his community through his charities and passions, [Abloh] was an eternal optimist who believed anything was possible,” said Michael Burke, chairman and CEO at Louis Vuitton, said in a statement. “In this same spirit, we at Louis Vuitton will proudly continue to celebrate his legacy with a final show in Miami, per his wishes.” Virgil Abloh was Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director from 2018 until his death. He was also serving as the CEO of Off-White after launching the company in 2012.

Abloh’s Show

Several high-profile musicians were in attendance to pay respect to Abloh. This included  Kanye West, Pharrell, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, DJ Khaled, Gunna, Metro Boomin, and A$AP Ferg.

Kid Cudi, Quavo, and Offset also were there to walk the runway. Cudi also performed songs such as West’s “Moon,” David Guetta’s “Memories,” “Tequila Shots,” “She Knows This” and Steve Aoki’s remix of “Pursuit of Happiness.”

Fans saw Kanye West and Pharrell sitting next to each other in the front row. They were enjoying the music alongside everyone else, yet seemingly in a world of their own. Abloh was able to bring these two together to enjoy a moment, as he had so many times before in life.

While Abloh might be gone, he is not forgotten. He will forever be remembered throughout both the music and fashion industry.

Virgil Abloh: A Designer For The Culture

Renowned designer Virgil Abloh tragically passed away Sunday at the age of 41. While battling silently with a rare form of cancer, he continued to pour out the mastery of his craft. From styling the greats, to designing for one of the most iconic fashion houses, he leaves an enormous legacy in his wake.

Virgil Abloh was known for his close-working relationship with Kanye West. He assisted in crafting modern fashion with his unique taste. He created his brand Off-White in 2013, leading to a partnership with Louis Vuitton in 2018. Although he was vastly known for his work in fashion, his influence on hip-hop has been cemented for years to come. Let’s dig a little deeper.

The Virgil Abloh Influence

The culture of rap and hip-hop, especially its overlap with fashion and streetwear, is the foundation of Abloh’s designs. He both marveled at the culture and influenced it, without rapping. With today’s hottest rappers mentioning his name, he didn’t have to drop a verse.

“Life Is Good”- Future ft. Drake

“Haven’t done my taxes I’m too turnt up. Virgil got a Patek on my wrist goin nuts.”

“Surf”- Young Thug ft. Gunna

“Virgil been sending me drip just to see if I like it, or rockin wit it.”

“Virgil Discount”- 2 Chainz ft. Skooly

“Walked out of Louis lookin like a Virgil discount, if it ain’t a hundred, its a miscount.”

His Cover Art Genius

With Abloh’s catalog is not lengthy enough, why not add album cover curator to the list? Cover art, like rap music itself, is it’s own art form. It gives a listening eye to what’s expected of the album. Here are some of the most iconic albums and covers that illustrate Abloh’s design genius:

Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Released in 2010, Abloh was a credited designer on the cover art for Kanye’s masterpiece. Abloh enlisted George Condo to produce several pieces to showcase throughout the album art. Although some of the controversial images were frowned upon, they pushed the boundaries on what rap album covers would look like. Condo expressed, “Virgil makes things happen, intrinsically knowing that his talent is to move into an electric field and create a transcendent art experience for our people.” This insert is from Abloh’s Figures of Speech book.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne

Watch The Throne was undoubtedly one of the greatest albums to slam hip-hop lover’s ears. Two greats collaborated on a hype, flashy, luxurious album. Virgil illustrated the theme of the album effortlessly, creating an intricate gold plaque. It was truly fitting for the hip-hop throne.

Kid Cudi’s WZRD

Kid Cudi and close friend Virgil foreseeably collaborated to produce this simple but futuristic design. As Cudi put it, his “ahead of the curve” designs placed him a step ahead of other designers on this 2012 project.

WZRD "WZRD" Album Art | Sidewalk Hustle

A$AP Rocky’s Long.Live.A$AP

This classic album, dropped 2014 and released on streaming last month, set a young A$AP Rocky apart from the rest. As if the name wasn’t enough, the album cover made this one easily recognizable. To put it another way, Virgil showed undeniable talent. The grey tones exhibited timelessness, hence “long live.”

Celebrating Abloh’s life

After news of Abloh’s passing, Kanye West dedicated his Sunday service to his longtime friend. While this dedication was fitting, it was a tough pill to swallow for Ye. As creative director of Donda, Abloh’s magic touch will be missed, but lasting. Kanye enlisted Adele to sing her hit “Easy on Me” in Abloh’s memory.

This is surely a difficult time for his family, friends, and admirers. All of us at FMHipHop.com send our condolences to Abloh’s friends, family and fans.
