Wiz Khalifa Shows Us Different Sides on ‘Multiverse’

Wiz Khalifa just dropped Multiverse last week.  Wiz has been a staple in hip hop since the early 2010s and always delivers good music.  We took time to listen to his new album and here’s what we thought of it.

Multiverse Music

Multiverse starts off with “Big Daddy Wiz”.  He sets the tempo with a old school feel, but with a new kick.  It will definitely get you moving!  He keeps the tempo going with “MVP”.  Just like “Big Daddy Wiz”, it’s a feel-good song that allows you to enjoy yourself.  He sounds like is having fun over this futuristic type of sound.  Could this be the type of sound one would hear in the multiverse?  Wiz is thinking in the future with this album.   From these two songs, if you don’t know Wiz, you can learn a few things:  He likes to have fun, enjoys drinking, and wants to be surrounded by beautiful women.

Wiz in Love

In his next few songs, he takes a turn.  We get to hear Wiz discuss the matters of his heart.  In “Memory Lane”, he reflects on a woman that he shared time with.  This is definitely a song that caters to the ladies as well as the men.  Everyone has that someone they go down memory lane with.  It sounds like he is not over this woman.

The same feeling continues on “1000 Women”.  The title can confuse you because one would assume he is talking about wanting 1,000 women, but he isn’t.  He used to want 1,000 women, now he only wants one.  Wonder if this is the same woman he is talking about on “Memory Lane”?  On “Like You”, he continues the trend of talking about this one girl.  He claims he’s seen a lot of girls around the world, but none are like this specific girl.  Wiz sure sounds like he has found love.

Singing Wiz

Wiz Khalifa is not afraid to sing on the microphone.  He actually does it a couple of times throughout the album.  On “Something Real”, he showcases his melodies.  He is searching for something real, whether it be with someone else or within himself.  Also, on “We Don’t Go Out To Nightclubs Anymore/Candlelight Girl”, he is singing.  As it is mostly an instrumental, Wiz comes in and out to sing a few lines.  He does this on “Mirror Love (Groove 2)” as well.  On the second to last song, he drops off one more ballad for us with “Nobody Knows”.  Wiz’s singing will catch you ear.

Party Wiz

Wiz has always been known to party.  From smoking big planes to drinking bottles of Bombay, Wiz knows how to have a good time.  The lead single, “Bad Ass Bitches”, is what Wiz usually is about.  The single is a twist on the earlier songs catered to women, he doesn’t just want one.  Here, Wiz wants all the fine women around him!  On “Iced out Necklace”, he brings more of the fun as -I can hear this one being played in the club.  It’s a hard song with a hard beat that will make you nod your head.  “Keys” may be the best song on this album!  Wiz always sounds like he is having fun when he raps.  A good follow up to “Iced Out Necklace” as this can be played in the club too.

Overall, this is a solid project by Wiz Khalifa.  He gives us different sounds and then what we usually expect from him.  Take the time to listen to Multiverse if you haven’t had the chance.

Wiz Khalifa Gives Insight On Why He Prefers Biggie Over 2Pac

Recently, Wiz Khalifa answered the one question that all rappers are asked sooner or later. Do you prefer Biggie or 2Pac? The Biggie vs 2Pac debate has been around since the untimely deaths of both icons. Hundreds of rappers from all over the world have answered this question. During an interview at SiriusXM earlier this week, DJ Whoo Kid asked Wiz Khalifa about his preference between Biggie and 2Pac. Since Wiz has spent the majority of his life living on both the east and west coast. Though Wiz gives proper respect to 2Pac mentioning his work ethic and attitude he ultimately sides with Biggie. He credits his decision to Biggie’s complex lyrics and how you can still listen to him in the present time.

“Biggie. I like Biggie because lyrically like you could still listen to Biggie’s shit today and be like, ‘Wow, he really said that. He talks about clothes, like brands in a crazy way and he talks about cars in a crazy way and he talks about women. He’s just really poetic. That’s not to say one is better than the other,” he mentions. “But I just love how complex his bars are. Pac is raw, Pac is crazy, he’s hard.”

Watch the full interview below.

Wiz Khalifa’s Connection To The East And West

Wiz has a very unique connection between the East and West sides of rap. He grew up 400 miles west of Brooklyn, the Pittsburgh native has always shown an appreciation for Biggie. Even going as far as sampling the rap legend on a few of his own tracks. Songs like “Gin and Drugs” and “The Race” both sample the classic Biggie song “Going Back to Cali.” Wiz has his own music he is also currently working on as well. He says he is ready for the release of his experimental Multiverse album that comes out next Friday, July 29.

Wiz Khalifa Launches ‘MISTERCAP’ Psilocybin-Based Health Brand

Wiz Khalifa is working with Red Light Holland, a Canadian company, to launch another brand for the Pennsylvania-bred icon. The partnership is working on developing natural mushrooms that are non-psychedelic & promote wellness under the MISTERCAP brand.

The mushrooms are developing out in the Netherlands & will release in Canada, Europe, and The United States. Red Light Holland’s CEO Todd Shapiro looks pretty excited about this joint venture & speaks highly on the future of MISTERCAP. The plan is allegedly for the brand to roll out psychedelic mushroom products once it finishes slowly becoming decriminalized throughout the western world.

More Details From Red Light Holland’s CEO

This new brand launch is exciting & beneficial for all parties. Red Light Holland’s CEO Todd Shapiro states, “We’ve been working with Wiz Khalifa and his team to collaborate and create a brand that encompasses our joint belief for the affordable and equitable access to naturally occurring psilocybin responsibly.” On paper, there’s no way this doesn’t become a successful investment based on the rate of psilocybin decriminalization.

As far as why the company chose Wiz as a partner, Shapiro continued by saying, “Wiz Khalifa is a global icon with tremendous reach who is uniquely positioned to help us spread the message and end the stigma surrounding psilocybin while focusing on mental health and wellness.” It’s truly a match made in heaven for both parties.

Wiz Khalifa’s Latest Music Moves

Overall, Wiz Khalifa does very well for himself as an entrepreneur outside of music. MISTERCAP is another business venture in his resumé alongside others like his Khalifa Kush & HotBox

Outside of this, Wiz recently re-released his classic “Taylor Allderdice” mixtape on streaming platforms in April. He’s a high school graduate who shares the same name as the project. Wiz Khalifa launches business moves while still functioning as a Hip-Hop legend. In short, he’s an example for many young artists in the game. Are you ready for more fresh material from the Taylor Gang rapper? And will you try some of these new non-psychedelic mushrooms?

2012 was a huge year for Amber Rose. While the star has appeared in many music videos throughout the years it’s no secret that this wouldn’t be her first time getting on a track. Wiz Khalifa Celebrates 420 By Re-releasing “Taylor Allderdice” Mixtape

Wiz Khalifa celebrates 4/20 by re-releasing his 2012 mixtape, “Taylor Allderdice”. It is available on all streaming services. Enjoy these classic hits while enjoying the unofficial holiday.

Most of the time, these rereleased mixtapes are not complete. There is generally a problem sample that needed to be cut due to clearance issues. That is not an issue here. All 17 of the original songs are available. This is really surprising, considering that one of the samples is from Khalifa’s ex-wife, Amber Rose.

History of “Taylor Allderdice”

Khalifa released the mixtape a year after Khalifa’s major label debut, “Rolling Papers”. It was released in 2012 to critical acclaim.

“Taylor Allderdice” was named after the high school that Khalifa attended. It is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Khalifa graduated in 2006. He had also named his record label after it, Taylor Gang Entertainment.

The mixtape served as an introduction to the newest members of his record label, Taylor Gang Entertainment. These members are Chevy Woods and Juicy J.

When it was first being released, Khalifa did a listening party at Jungle City Studios in Manhattan. He mostly let the music speak for itself, without even revealing most of the songs’ names. However, Khalifa did an introduction speech before starting it.

“You can ride to this, smoke to this, get trippy to this. But you can clean to this, cook to this, iron to this.”

Khalifa has made releasing old mixtapes on 420 into something of a ritual. In 2019, he released “How Fly”. In 2018, he did “Kush & Orange Juice”.

Over the last couple of years, artists porting their mixtapes to streaming services has become a trend.

However, that does not mean that Khalifa has been resting on his laurels. He also has been doing other things besides focusing on some 2010’s nostalgia. Earlier this month, he released the collaborative album “Full Court Press”.

You can listen to the mixtape below.

Wiz Khalifa Wants to Recruit Jake Paul for PFL

Wiz Khalifa has a businessman vision for the professional fighters league, which includes Jake Paul. In Khalifa’s words

“He’ll [Jake Paul] be tight if he fought for PFL,”

Jake Paul has had earned quite the reputation as a talent to beat. According to a source, Paul aims for a solid position as a Mixed Martial Artist. Reportedly Paul has his sights on gaining a spot with UFC. Khalifa has his eyes on recruiting Paul. Khalifa and MMA

Khalifa’s part-ownership of the Professional Fighters League aligns with his gifts. His love for martial arts is no secret. According to a source, the artist trained to position himself for a possible bout in the ring. And his abilities have not gone unnoticed.

A source notes that Jay Glazier, MMA trainer, thinks Wiz has genuine talent, claiming he was the only one to hurt him with a body shot.

That is impressive.

A Possible Career Shift For Wiz Khalifa (And Jake Paul?)

So what is standing between Khalifa and a career shift to MMA? Ultimately his desire. In an interview, Wiz admitted to liking his career in music a little bit more. However, he is not ruling out an experience in the octagon. However, there are stipulations. In Khalifa’s words,

“You gotta pay me a whole bunch of money to get me to fight.”

That is understandable

For now, as co-owner of PFL, he’s looking to work a little magic for the organization. Jake Paul is coming off as a valuable asset. However, as noted, no offer has been put on the table. So we will have to see if Paul will choose the PFL over the UFC.

Kanye West Drops Huge Enemies List Featuring Kid Cudi, Tik Tok, Wiz Khalifa, Skete And More

Since being in the spotlight, Kanye West has used multiple platforms to deliver gripes, speeches, and disses. He has been chronicling his feuds with an array of people since he released the album “Through The Wire” in 2003. Instagram is his primary tool for self-promotion and antagonizing Kim Kardashian.

Who Has Kanye West Been At Odds With?

As Ye illustrated in Hip Hop By The Numbers, he’s been at odds with many individuals, groups, and television shows. Ye’s feuds with Taylor Swift, Nike, Kim Kardashian, Wiz Khalifa, JAY-Z, and many others were aggregated in Hip Hop By The Numbers. The subject of the recent Jeen-yuhs documentary set things straight despite omitting a few of his own.

“Come on guys… This list is twice as long,” he captioned the post on Saturday (Feb. 19). “You gotta put Apple Spotify Vivendi Universal Lucien Grange Tik Tok Black History Month Obama the whole cast of SNL Hillary Clinton the Devil himself Corey Gamble Bezos Charlamagne Disney Librals and of course Skete and any and all corny shit in general.”

“Can somebody from Chicago let these people know what Skete meant when we was growing up It’s up for everybody!!!!! Wow. Being rich is fun!!!!”

Kanye West Drops Huge Enemies List Featuring Kid Cudi, Tik Tok, Wiz Khalifa, Skete And More

SNL Making Fun Of Ye

Saturday Night Live, which has made fun of Ye since he publicly feuded with Taylor Swift more than a decade ago, has long been a source of irritation for the rapper. Ye began the second verse of “Power,” the lead single from his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, targeting Saturday Night Live.

“F*ck SNL and the whole cast,” he began. “Tell them Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass. More specifically, they can kiss my asshole. I’m an asshole? You n-ggas got jokes.”

Ye’s rants are liable to extend his beef list. Donda 2 has yet to be released so only time will tell.

Juicy J & Wiz Khalifa, “Stoner’s Night:” Details

It is also noteworthy that Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J teamed up with TM88 in 2016 for “TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening.” The Taylor Gang emcees have also worked together on several singles over the past few years.

This will be Wiz Khalifa’s first release since the release of Wiz Got Wings with J. Sledgren and Cardo last December. In addition to his work, the Pittsburgh-raised rapper has collaborated on multiple projects with New Orleans rapper Curren$y.

Several Platinum-certified albums from Khalifa’s solo discography, including Rolling Papers, O.N.I.F.C., and Blacc Hollywood. With the help of Three Six Mafia, Juicy created projects and solo initiatives such as Hustle Till I Die and Stay Trippy.

Having been a member of Memphis’ rap group Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J rose to prominence in the music industry. There are also music collaboration projects in the discography of the Oscar winner, including endeavors with Lex Luger. Juicy’s most recent solo album is ‘The Hustle Continues,’ released in 2020.

A successful rapper, such as Juicy J, separating from his former rap group, embarking on a solo career, and releasing many albums, including a duo album with Wiz Khalifa, is a blessing. Dedicating himself to doing what he loves in life is a very admirable trait, if I may say so myself. Let this new album bring Khalifa and Juicy much success and many more in the future.
