New XXXTENTACION Look At Me Album To Go With Documentary

XXXTentacion will receive a new compilation on June 10, titled “Look At Me: The Album.”. This is to go with the Hulu documentary about the late rapper, which released May 26.

This is going to be the third posthumous album released. The first album, “Skins”, was released in 2018, in the same year as his death. The other, “Bad Vibes Forever”, was released the following year, in 2019. Both of those albums debuted on Billboard 200’s Top 5.

The documentary, called “Look At Me: XXXTentacion”, focuses on his mental health issues, as well as some of the controversies surrounding X.. It features never before seen footage. It also has interviews of people that were close to him. This includes ex-girlfriends. The reason for the title is because that was X’s debut single.

X was a deeply disturbed person. However, he was also making it appear worse than it actually was for the publicity. He considered all publicity as good. That is also the reason for some of the controversies that he had caused. The more that people talked about him, the more that people can find him.

Look at Me: The Album

The album, which is called Look At Me: The Album, is divided into 2 parts. The first part is 11 songs and are focused around X’s early works. This is the first time that all of them are going to be available for streaming services. The second part is 13 fan favorite songs. The album closes in the same way as the documentary, with the song “True Love” which was also on Donda 2 by Ye.. Previously, the only way to get this song was through Ye’s $200 stem player.

They are playing with the names of the two parts, as well. The first part, with the early works, is called “Look at me then”. The other part with the big hitting songs and “True Love” is called “Look at me now”.

You can find the list of songs here.

The New Documentary About XXXTentacion Lacks Some Details, 50 Cent Claims

The new documentary about XXXTentacion, “Look At Me: XXXTentacion,” is coming out soon, and 50 Cent got to see it before the release. Later on, 50 found out some details are lacking.

Apparently, the controversial documentary about the controversial artist also lacks important details of X’s life. But, as Tentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, explains, 50 Cent shared his thought on the movie with her.

“We only get one shot at this, and [there are some] things…that should have been in there,” Bernard shared 50’s words. “A lot of charity work that wasn’t there. The pregnancy test, they did not include that at all.”

She added, “and this was blood paperwork from the hospital to show that the young lady was never pregnant. The film is supposed to be truthful all across the board.”

“Look At Me: XXXTentacion”

The documentary itself talks about the life and death of the Florida artist XXXTencation. The movie, also taking the title after the artist’s most famous song, reveals many details of X’s life—for example, his relationship with his family, scandalous dating life, and fame with its outcomes.

The movie also sheds light on the artist’s medical issues. Apparently, X had bipolar syndrome and appealed to art for help.

The movie will be out on May 26th.

X

XXXTentacion is an artist from Plantation, Florida. His music and life polarized the vast crowds of fans and also haters. “Look At Me” is the artist’s most famous song; it currently has more than 550 million listens on YouTube.

X is also notorious for his highly controversial romantic relationship. Abuse with and without weapons was a significant part of the artist’s romantic life, also together with constant fights. In 2018, Tentacion confessed to committing the crimes described above on the recording tape.

Joey Bada$$ On XXXTenacion And Capital Steez

Joey Bada$$ recently commented on the similarities between XXXTentacion (X) and Capital Steez. The friendship between Capital Steez and Joey goes back to high school. These two Brooklyn-based rappers formed Pro Era in 2011 with CJ Fly and Power Pleasant.

A year later, Capital Steez committed suicide on Christmas Eve. Joey Bada$$ spent multiple years working with Capital Steez before his death.

He also got a chance to work with X.

X & Bada$$

XXXTentacion and Joey Bada$$ collaborated for X’s song “Infinity (888)” which was released in 2018. In the same year, someone shot X in Florida.

Now, four years after X’s death, Joey Bada$$ has spoken about both X’s and Capital Steez’s personalities. In an interview with Montreality, Joey Bada$$ described X as “super humble, and super competitive too.”

He felt the competitive energy when he joined X in Miami to work on “Infinity.” He went on to say that the only other artist he felt that competitive spirit around was Capital Steez.

According to Joey, X was a unique artist because “he had so much range.” He also mentioned that the feeling of being a particular person was mutual between him and X.

Joey believes that X has left an imprint on the rising generation that will lead to X influencing them. Bada$$ said, “My generation was able to influence his, and he was able to influence the next one.”

While Joey Bada$$ misses X’s heart in spirit, he knows “him and Steez is like kicking it.” Joey Bada$$ has told fans to look for a new album by the end of 2022. This comes two years after his EP “The Light Pack” in 2020.

XXXTENTACION Surpasses Drake’s Most Streamed Record On Spotify

Even after XXXTENTACION’s untimely passing over three years ago, his albums continue to make history. A previous announcement by the mother of XXXTentacion indicated that more music from her son is forthcoming and a documentary.

XXXTENTACION’s Album Tops Drake’s

Chart Data reported that the Florida-raised rapper’s album “?” has now become Spotify’s most-streamed Hip Hop album. The record followed Drake’s massive “Scorpion” achievement. With 7.5 billion streams as of November 2021, Scorpion was comfortably ahead of “?” with 6.9 billion streams. Though, as shown by Chart Masters, “?” has since increased its play-throughs to 7.884 billion, making it the most played album across all platforms. It eventually surpassed Scorpion (7.883 billion) by fewer than a billion spins.

X’s Beef With Drake

The move by XXXTENTACION’s album marks a coming full circle for the controversial SoundCloud rap icon. XXXTENTACION also called the Toronto megastar a “pussy n-gga” in 2017 after he allegedly bit his “Look At Me!” flow on “KMT.”

More Number One Hits

Furthermore, there is still a lot of catching up to be done for the XXXTENTACION’s album “?” to become the most-streamed album on Spotify. However, the distinction currently belongs to Ed Sheeran’s “÷,” which has accumulated 11.5 billion streams to date.

XXXTENTACION’s final album, “?” came out in March 2018. In June of that year, he was shot and killed during a robbery outside a motorsports dealership in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Featuring the hits “Sad! “, “Moonlight,” and “Changes,” the also project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after accumulating 131,000 equivalent album units. As a result, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has also certified the album triple platinum.

XXXTentacion’s “Vice City” Is Set To Release For Streaming On Friday

It is now nearly four years since the death of Florida rapper XXXTentacion. The 20-year-old, real name Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was murdered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, at a motorcycle dealership. Almost four years on, no trial date has been set for his alleged murderers and the motive is still unclear. However, X’s estate continues to keep his music alive through sporadic album releases, full of unreleased or remastered material of the late rapper. 2018 saw the release of Skins, with Bad Vibes Forever following a year later but, while these were mired in controversy and bad blood, the fans clung to them. Now, the fans are getting a little more.

XXXTentacion’s “Vice City”

On what would have been XXXTentacion’s 24th birthday, his estate announced another release on Twitter.

https://twitter.com/xxxtentacion/status/1485268456664621059?s=20

X’s estate thanked fans for their “love and support” and said “his impact continues to be as powerful as it’s ever been.” The estate went on to state that they are “planning an exciting 2022”, kicking it off with the release of X’s song, “Vice City”, a track from his early days. The release is set for this Friday, Jan. 28. Per the estate:

“One of our first initiatives is to get as much of X’s music from his earliest days as an artist up on all DSPS. We have been working diligently to clear as much of it as possible, and we are excited to announce the first release this Friday with ‘Vice City’ hitting all streaming services for the first time.”

Exciting as it is to fans, the estate went on to clarify further releases, saying: “We will continue to release music as we clear it, and are making sure we do it in a way that stays true to how X released each song originally.”

Fans are then directed to visit an official website, MakeOutHill, as well a Twitter account under the same name. Updates and news will be posted and shared at these sites. In addition, the estate addressed the question of an XXXTentacion documentary, saying that updates will be shared “soon”.

If this Friday is a little too far away, listeners can always check out “Vice City” on YouTube. Uploaded in June of 2016, the video has racked up over 57.4 million views.

Lil Uzi Vert Talks Collab With Late XXXTENTACION

Lil Uzi Vert and the late XXXTENTACION have spoken in the past. The two were both early visionaries in raps “SoundCloud” days. These connections led to a fan asking Uzi whether he would work with X, as the rapper bleached Adin Ross’s head on a Livestream.

“What are your thoughts on Jah XXXTentacion, and do you plan on hopping on an unreleased X track because Jah wanted to collab with you,” the fan asked via chat.

Unfortunately, the collaboration did not happen when XXXTENTACION was alive, but the rapper and his team contacted Uzi multiple times. Even though Uzi is and was willing to work on a song with X, he is worried about releasing the record. He said so while bleaching Adin Ross’s head on a Livestream.

“Yes, I do like him. He called me one time when he was incarcerated a long time ago. I was on tour with The Weekend. He called me, and he rapped a song for me that he never laid. It was really good, and I would love to do a song with him, but I’m weird on stuff like that.”

Lil Uzi Vert continued:

“I’m weird because I understand that they’re not here living. What if that’s not the vision that they want? Especially if they fucked with me, like, what if that’s all wrong? I’ll be pissed off if they did it all wrong because I’m not here, but you know. If it works out, it works out.”

Lil Uzi’s Decision And Other Posthumous Songs

Several fans respected the rapper’s words on Instagram and the Livestream. There have been several posthumous songs that many feel shouldn’t have come out. Recent dismal posthumous releases from Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD have shown how wrong things can go when an artist’s vision gets lost to corporate grief. Other examples include Tupac Shakur’s Loyal to the Game and Notorious B.I.G.’s The King & I.

How do you feel about posthumous songs? Have most of them succeeded, or were they just milked for money? Give us your takes by interacting with us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook.

XXXTentacion Song Plays at His Father’s Wedding Ceremony

XXXTentacion truly passed away before his time. Yet, at such a young age, the musician lived his truth unapologetically. And it shines profusely through his many records.

Songs like “Hope” and “NUMB” made fans worldwide feel less alone while dealing with the woes of teendom. Even in the afterlife, he’s getting his flowers.

Not too long ago, he was bestowed with a diamond plaque for his song “SAD!” Its currently at 10 million units.

Shortly after that, X’s father, Dwayne Onfroy, posted a past heartwarming video of himself and his current wife tying the knot. However, the real tear-jerker is when XXXTentacion’s “Snow Globes” plays in the background as his wife walks down the aisle.

“So on this day, I was surprised by my wife choosing this song to honor me and Jahseh, who had died a year prior,” Dwayne wrote in the caption. “From my reaction, the song came and started, and THEN SHE WALKED INTO THE ROOM…”

XXXTentacion was murdered in a robbery outside of RIVA Motorsports, a company that sells motorcycles and watercraft in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was shot multiple times in the neck and was in critical condition before being pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. Later on, the police arrested 22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams in connection with his murder.

Williams was distinguished by the clothing he wore on June 18th. This depiction includes orange sandals and a white tank top. In addition, the police matched images from security footage to recent pictures from Williams’ Instagram feed, which featured “the same or similar bright orange sandals.”

Lil Peep’s Mother Claims His Recording Label Owes Her Millions Of Dollars

Liza Womack, mother of the late emo-rapper Lil Peep, accused his label First Access Entertainment of withholding $4 million in unpaid royalties. Womack also claimed that the label’s actions had been a part of the long-lasting conflict; in 2019, Liza Womack filed a wrongful death lawsuit against First Access Entertainment. Lil Peep tragically died from an overdose in 2017, at the age of 21. The lawsuit accuses those around him of supplying him with drugs and pressuring him to perform.

First Access Entertainment pleaded not guilty to the unpaid royalties charge at a court hearing in Los Angeles on September 28. Instead, they blamed Womack for the payment delays.

“FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” Womack’s lawyer stated in open court. “We believe that they’re woefully undercapitalized, we believe they have co-mingled the funds that are due to the estate, and we are very concerned that they’re going to squander that money away.”

In response, First Access Entertainment’s lawyer stated that “It is not true that FAE owes the estate over $4 million. That’s simply not true. That’s just an argument used to gain someone’s sympathy here.”

The 2019 Lawsuit

Lil Peep's Mother Claims Son's Recording Label to Own Her Millions Of Dollars
The cover of Peep’s Come Over When You’re Sober pt.1 album via Altpress

The 2019 wrongful death lawsuit claimed Lil Peep’s managers ignored both his physical and mental health needs. The artist had been pushed “onto stage after stage in city after city,” while Peep’s team had allegedly been “plying and propping him up” with drugs and prescriptions. These included Xanax, ketamine, and more. Lil Peep also got a refusal from managers when asking to leave the tour. During that same Come Over When You’re Sober pt. 1 tour, Peep fatally overdosed.

Womack also claims one of Peep’s managers had given the late rapper a bottle of pills as a gift while on tour. This allegedly provoked the rapper’s “rampant” drug use and, consequentially, his death.

The legal battle has been ongoing since 2019. “My wrongful death suit is about my son and how people need to be treated and shouldn’t be treated,” Womack told Pitchfork in May 2021.

Lil Peep has also been recently sued himself, together with the late XXXTentacion. The subject of their case is posthumous track “Falling Down,” which allegedly samples another artist’s riff. Read more of our coverage of that case here.

Late Rappers XXXTentacion and Lil Peep Sued For “Falling Down”

Late American rappers XXXTentacion and Lil Peep are being sued. A lawsuit has been filed by Richard Jaden Hoff (K.R.I.O.). Hoff claims rappers’ hit song “Falling Down” featured a guitar riff off his 2018 track “Under My Breath” and sampled it in the single without Hoff’s authorization.

Peep’s sophomore album Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2., features the collaborative bonus track. The single has over 200 million views on YouTube and peaked No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Columbia Records, Sony Entertainment, and several renowned producers from the album are also listed on the lawsuit as defendants. Mike Will Made-It is amongst the producers too.

The Background Story

Richard Hoff released his single “Under My Breath” on SoundCloud in June of 2018. Three months later, “Falling Down” was released on major streaming platforms. Remakes of the song have since been released, such as the version featuring Travis Barker adding drums to the music. Although iLoveMakonnen gave his blessing to release the track, neither artist is named in the lawsuit. These accusations are highly questionable since the rappers being sued are both deceased. Chillingly, Hoff refers to the rappers as if they are alive, claiming they are receiving royalties. The rappers’ estates are not included in the lawsuit.

Lil Peep died in 2017 of a drug overdose, and XXXTentacion was shot and killed just days after the release of Hoff’s song. Unfortunately, neither rapper would see success following the release of the song. Several lawsuits have risen since the rappers’ death, including wrongful death suits from Peep’s family and X’s family’s claims to his estate. Will the rappers rest in peace?

Around 2 months ago, X’s single “Changes” hit 1 billion streams on Spotify. His tracks “Sad!,” “Moonlight,” and “Jocelyn Flores” have also surpassed the billion-stream milestone on Spotify. Be sure to read more here.

XXXTENTACION Hits 1 Billion Streams on Spotify with “Changes”

XXXTENTACION will live forever through his music

It’s been just over three years since XXXTENTACION was tragically shot and killed in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The rapper, 20 years old at the time, was the victim of an attempted robbery.

Despite his premature death, he has proven to be one of the most impactful rappers of his generation. His track “Changes” has just reached 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The piano ballad is the fourth song by XXXTENTACION to reach this mark. His tracks “Sad!,” “Moonlight,” and “Jocelyn Flores” have also surpassed the billion-stream milestone on Spotify. With this accomplishment, he posthumously finds himself in league with artists like Drake, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and Post Malone, to name a few.

More than just music

This landmark achievement is a bright spot in a controversial time. Just a few months ago, the late rapper’s estate was the subject of much drama with his brother suing his mother over it. His posthumous album releases have received criticism, with some fans thinking his family handling his music poorly.

Still, he remains one of the most celebrated rappers since his death. He’s one of many young rappers we’ve lost too early over the past few years, such as Juice WRLD and Pop Smoke. His legacy will continue to live through his music.
