Teyana Taylor has been hard at work to the point where her body could not handle it anymore. The singer had to recently cancel her show in Connecticut after Teyana Taylor was hospitalized over the weekend. This past Sunday, she posted a photo in the hospital bed on Instagram and a caption that explained what happened.
“My team & I tried everything down to the very last second to get me out on that stage, but my body simply just gave out, which actually started a few days ago,” she wrote. “SHUT DOWN, my body actually low key betrayed me cause ah bitch was tryna get on that stage.” Read her complete statement below.
Fellow musicians and fans have shown their support for hospitalized Teyana Taylor and wish her a speedy recovery.
With her checking on her health, she also checked on her fans’ well-being. At her Los Angeles concert on November 8, Taylor stopped the show, making sure that a fan was good after passing out. . “Make sure she got some air…You good?” she asked before telling the fan to pronounce “rose petal.” “Okay, baby, you good.”
Retiring From Music
Connecticut is one of her last shows on her The Last Rose Pedal Farewell Tour. Spike Tee stated the show would reschedule, and refunds will also be available. She is to perform in Atlanta, GA, on November 30. The tour marks her last time performing on stage.
Teyana announced last year that she would be retiring from music entirely. During an Instagram Live session, she explained that she felt underappreciated from her record label, G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam. “I constantly feel alone, I constantly feel under-appreciated, I constantly feel failed…there is literally no push,” she stated. “Until I’m free, until I can get [my label] to release me, yes, I want to retire. I don’t want to do this anymore.” She will continue to focus on her family and other businesses.
