A Vince Staples scripted comedy show based on his life is currently in the works. The Ramona Park rapper will be partnering with Netflix to create The Vince Staples Show starring Vince Staples, along with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, who will be the executive producer of the show. Vince Staples is from Long Beach, California, so guess where the show is taking place? Long Beach, California! Apparently, Staples has been working on this project for a while. Who knew he would want to get in front of the camera?
The Vince Staples Show
Netflix speaks highly of Vince Staples, recognizing him as one of the bests artists in the world. The show will focus on comedy and the team at Netflix are ready to embrace Vince’s sense of humor. Not only is he acting, but he will also be an executive producer alongside Barris. Also involved with the production of this series are Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams, show runners. Corey Smyth and Calmatic will produce as well.
Vince Acting
Staples is no stranger to acting. He has been featured in films such as Dope, MFKZ, Sprite, and Girillaz: Reject False Icons. He has also done voice overs for TV series American Dad as well as Lazor Wulf. Film and TV money must be good as the “Magic” rapper has been busy booking acting gigs left and right. Just recently, he was put on the cast for the White Men Can’t Jump reboot. Although his role is not revealed, he will be acting alongside Jack Harlow, Teyana Taylor, and Sinqua Walls.
Vince must have a thing for nostalgia as he is a part of another reboot as well, this time the 1999 classic movie The Wood, but in the form of a television series. At least we know in this series, he will have the lead role. Showtime will produce the series and have been working on it since August 2021.
Vince Staples has plans to further his acting career. Last year, he spoke into the universe of how he wants to be cast in a Marvel Production, preferably X-Men. There’s no doubt in our minds that Vince can get it done!
