Congratulations to Vlad TV as they are approaching their 15 year anniversary! Vlad TV was founded by Vlad Lyubovny, born in Ukraine, and to this date, VLAD TV has over 3 million subscribers on YouTube. Vlad is one of the more important figures in hip hop journalism as his network has given us memorable content. His most popular interview is when he sat down to speak with Boosie Badazz. Other notable Vlad interviews include Cardi B, 21 Savage, Soulja Boy, Omarion Mike Tyson, D.L. Hughley, and Keefe D, who was in the car when Tupac was killed.
Vlad Becomes Popular
Vlad TV has been referenced numerous times in hip hop. Most recently, 2 Chainz has a song on his new album titled “VLAD TV”. The infamous line in the song is “I watched a nigga go on VLAD TV, he told on himself”. 2 Chainz is right, for 15 years Vlad always manages to get things out of his guest, I think he knows what he’s doing. Since 2007 and right up to this date, Vlad can create a headline.
Vlad Creates Headlines
During his sit down with legendary comedian D.L. Hughley, D.L. Hughley shared his opinions on Kanye West’s behavior towards Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. Kanye did not like what D.L. said igniting a beef between the two which led to Ye being banned from Instagram. All from Vlad’s interview!
Vlad also made headlines with another interview. He just sat down with Benzino, father of young rapper Coi Leray. Benzino’s take on homosexuality hit the internet after talking with Vlad. During the interview, Benzino states that there were no gay people growing up and he wasn’t sure how one becomes gay if they weren’t around it growing up. Of course, this set the internet in a frenzy with Vlad being apart of the headline.
Officer Vlad?
Vlad has always been accused of working with the police, which is why some artist don’t like to be associated with him. He continues to deny the accusations every chance he gets. Ironically, he interviewed, ex-LAPD officer Reggie White Jr. last week and he detailed a situation of how Suge Knight saved Bobby Brown’s life. Apparently, Bobby Brown did not pay the money he owed to a drug dealer for a lot of coke and the drug dealer put a hit out on Bobby. Suge got word of this and took care of everything. Bobby was no longer a wanted man. Vlad sure has the ability to get untold stories out of his guests.
Just recently, Vlad sat down with rapper Daylyt and he wanted to discuss his involvement with TDE. TDE President, Punch, is not a fan of Vlad and had a message for him on social media. Rapper Asian Doll took to social media as well to detail her experience with Vlad. She walked out of an interview with him earlier this year for not respecting her feelings regarding King Von’s death.
Vlad has been around for a very long time and has given us a lot of great content. Not everyone is in favor of how he does his job, but I’m sure that won’t change the way he does things. After all he know why he gets these reactions. “This guy’s rapping about all this stuff. Let’s talk to him about it. You claiming this gang shit, let’s talk about it. Let’s ask the real questions that everyone else is not asking”.
