Kodak Black Calls For Cops To Return Seized Cash Following July Arrest

Kodak Black is calling for the police to return the property seized during his arrest last month. Legal documents obtained by TMZ detail a request to force the Florida police officers to return a Dodge Durango and $74,960 in cash. Police confiscated the property in question during a drug arrest on July 15.

Bradford Cohen, Kodak’s longtime attorney, claims he can prove both the car and the cash were not involved in any illegal activity.

First, he claims the Dodge Durango is registered to Sniper Gang, Kodak’s record label. Since Kodak provided a prescription for the found pills, Cohen argues there is no legal basis to hold the vehicle.

Cohen also states that the roughly $75,000 in cash on Kodak’s person simply comes with the territory. He claims Kodak carries it to pay for large expenses while on tour. In addition, gigs often pay in cash.

Kodak Black July Arrest

Police pulled Kodak Black over on July 15th, saying the car reeked of weed. Searching the vehicle, they found $74,960 in cash and 31 oxycodone pills. Although Kodak provided a prescription for the oxycodone, his possessions are still being held as evidence.

Kodak taunted the officers after the arrest, tweeting and deleting the following.

“‘Hey I’m Officer Pinky Dick The One On The News For Arresting The Rapper Kid With The Big Dick And Alotta Cash. Yea My Daughter Talks About It So Much I Had To Pull Em Over So I Can Feel It Myself .. No Lie Bro Felt Like He Had A Shotgun In His Front Pocket.’”

The July arrest could result in Kodak back behind bars. Despite his 2021 presidential pardon, Kodak is on supervised release until 2024. According to prosecutors, he could be sentenced to “more jail time, an extended supervised release period, or both.”

NBA YoungBoy Plans U.S. Tour After Case Victory

NBA YoungBoy already has tour plans after his recent legal victory. The court found him not guilty on federal weapons charges on Friday, Jul 15, in Los Angeles.

Upon his release, NBA YoungBoy came for an interview with Mohammed Gangat, who detailed YoungBoy’s legal battle from the start. The rapper stated, “A tour, a tour is next. Around the states.”

Despite dealing with house arrest, YoungBoy has not stopped delivering music. He released “Colors” in January, debuting at number two on the Billboard Top 200 Charts. NBA YoungBoy is also getting ready to drop his last album with Atlanta Records on Aug 5, titled “The Last Slimeto.” In early April, YoungBoy dropped “The Last Slimeto Sampler” with seven new tracks in the preview. The Baton Rouge rapper has displayed an impressive work ethic, with a tour on the way.

NBA YoungBoy’s Legal Saga

The not guilty verdict on Friday came following an extensive and public trial. The prosecution charged NBA Youngboy with federal weapons charges on a pistol found when carrying out a warrant. His possession of the weapon was illegal, and he is serving probation for a 2017 aggravated assault charge. The court eventually found YoungBoy not guilty, with the defense citing a lack of fingerprints on the weapon.

NBA YoungBoy’s tour with the law is not yet entirely out of the woods, with another court date in his hometown of Baton Rouge. He faces charges of drug distribution, felony possession, and stolen firearms. In September 2020, Officers arrested YoungBoy and fifteen others after a music video shoot, seizing drugs, weapons, and cash.

NBA YoungBoy has served his three-year probation for aggravated assault and is now awaiting trial. His trial date is expected for early August, also coincidentally near the release of his new album. After the case, YoungBoy is eager to return on tour with new tracks to show off for his fans.

NBA Youngboy’s Defense Focuses On Lack Of Fingerprints

NBA Youngboy (Kentrell Gaulden) is currently on trial in Los Angeles, facing federal weapons charges.

Prosecutors spent significant time going over $700,000 worth of jewelry and the FNX-45 pistol found in Youngboy’s car. Meanwhile, the defense focused on what was missing – fingerprints.

FBI forensic examiner Icel Kuznetsova testified Wednesday, July 13th, as an expert in latent print examinations. She revealed that she found no prints on the weapon magazine or cartridges in question. However, she did make note that she did not test the firearm itself for prints.

Defense attorney Andrew Flyer questioned the witness, “There’s no evidence based on any of your analysis that shows that Mr. Gaulden touched those particular items at all, is that correct?”

Kuznetsova responded, “I did not develop any prints on these items.” She did continue to state that the lack of prints is not unusual. The FBI examiner detailed roughly a ten percent success rate in finding usable prints on firearms. She cited a number of possible reasons for this, including an anti-moisture coating on the weapon.

NBA Youngboy Trial In Louisiana

Police found the firearm in question when executing a federal warrant for another weapons charge in Louisiana. Gaulden fled the scene and was eventually caught by police after a high-speed chase. Officers unholstered the weapon, hidden under the seat.

Both the California and Louisiana cases charged Youngboy as a felon in possession of an illegal firearm, following his 2017 conviction of aggravated assault.

NBA Youngboy maintains he did not know there was a weapon in the vehicle and that it was left by someone else.

Next, Gaulden will face charges in Louisiana with multiple years of prison time on the line. Charges allege that he possessed two guns at the time of his September 2020 arrest.

Chris Brown Tops The Weeknd and Elvis’ R&B Records With “Breezy”

Chris Brown set a new record with the release of his latest Album, Breezy. On July 8, Billboard announced that Brown captured the record for most hits on the Hot R&B charts. With the new record, Brown displaces The Weeknd, who previously held the top spot.

Brown now holds a total of 79 songs on the Hot R&B charts, while The Weeknd sits at 71. The pair are far removed from the rest of the heat, with Drake taking third place at 56 hits. Khalid is set at #4 with 43 hits and Bryson Tiller takes home 41 hit songs to round out the list.

In addition, Brown also overcame Elvis Presley’s record for most Hot 100 songs. He becomes the most decorated male artist in the category, with a whopping 112 entries on the charts. The achievement is all the more impressive when taking into consideration that the release of Breezy was on the same day as Baz Luhrmann’s new Elvis biopic.

Hit Singles on “Breezy”

Breezy earned immediate success upon release, with 72,000 units sold in the opening week. The album features a whopping 24 tracks, with nine tracks landing on the top charts.

“Psychic,” featuring Jack Harlow, was the most successful track from the new album, with 6.41 million streams in the first week. “Call Me Everyday,” featuring WizKid, narrowly missed the top spot with 6.39 million streams.

“Addicted” featuring Lil Baby, “Possessive” featuring Lil Wayne and BLEU, and “Closure” featuring H.E.R. also made an immediate impact with their release.

The other songs making the Hot R&B charts include:

“C.A.B (Catch A Body)” feat. Fivio Foreign

“Till the Wheels Fall Off” feat. Lil Durk & Capella Gray

“Sex Memories” feat. Ella Mai

“Need You Right Here” feat. Bryson Tiller

Expect Brown to extend the leads of his records with the release of the Breezy deluxe edition. He also kicks off the “One of Them Ones” tour on July 15 in North Carolina. Featuring Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, the tour will close out on August 27th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Eric Holder Convicted Of Murder In Nipsey Hussle Shooting

A jury found Eric Holder guilty of first-degree murder in the case of Nipsey Hussle today.

After deliberating for over six hours in two days, the court found Holder guilty of murder and two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter. The other two charges addressed two bystanders hit by gunfire in the 2019 shooting.

The legal battle had suffered delays for over three years. Last year COVID-19 protocols and the retirement of a lead judge postponed the trial.

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, died at 33 in Los Angeles in March 2019. He released his debut studio album Victory Lap not long before, earning him a Grammy nomination.

Arguments in Nipsey Hussle Trial

The case against Holder was rock solid, with eyewitnesses and surveillance footage detailing the shooting. Video showed Hussle gunned down outside his Marathon closing store, with Holder shooting from his right and left hands.

L.A. County Deputy Public Defender Aaron Jansen argued the alleged murder had not been premeditated. He described Eric’s actions as a “passionate response” to snitching allegations, according to ABC News. He also maintained that Eric “didn’t mean to shoot the two bystanders.”

Deputy District Attorney John McKinney refuted the claims, saying: “There was no doubt that Eric planned to kill Nipsey.” He cited evidence that Holder shot Hussle 10 or 11 times before kicking him in the head and fleeing.

Holder and Nipsey knew each other for years, growing up as members of the same South L.A. gang. The snitching allegations referred to rumors about Holder giving information to the authorities on Nip. McKinney argued the conversation preceding Nipsey’s death was so calm it could not have been the primary catalyst for the shooting. He maintained Holder must have had previous hatred or envy towards Hussle, noting the mere nine minutes that separated that final conversation from the shooting.

Eric Holder will stand trial on September 15th, when he will face life in prison.

Court Orders Sexual Disorder Therapy Upon R Kelly’s Release

On Wednesday, June 29th, Judge Ann Donnelly sentenced R&B singer R Kelly to 30 years in prison. The sentence came following charges of federal sex crimes including racketeering and sexual assault. The court also imposed a number of sanctions on R. Kelly upon his release, which will not come until his 80s.

Firstly, Kelly will have to serve court-mandated therapy for a sexual disorder immediately after prison. In addition, he must refrain from contact with anyone under the age of 18. The only permitted contact is family members and therapeutic settings with a third party present, both requiring approval from his parole officer.

R Kelly Sentencing and Federal Trial

Prosecutors argued for minimum sentencing of 25 years, which was more than delivered in full. They argued, “He continued his crimes and avoided punishment for them for almost 30 years and must now be held to account.”

The verdict also came with a $100,000 fine and five years of parole supervision on Kelly’s release. The court found R. Kelly guilty of sexually abusing victims through his fame, along with running a scheme to recruit women for sex. Many of Kelly’s targeted victims were minors, with many victims coming forward to reveal testimonies.

While this trial took place in Brooklyn, New York, R Kelly will soon stand trial in Chicago, Illinois. He is facing two more state trials, along with a federal trial. The Chicago U.S. District Court charged Kelly with producing child pornography and manipulating minors into sexual activity. The trial is set to begin in August.

Kelly hired Jennifer Bonjean as his lawyer, who looked to overturn Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction in 2021. She attempted to delay the August 1st trial, but the judge shot down her request.

As of right now, R Kelly will be serving prison time until his mid-80s. Expect those charges to only escalate if he is found guilty of further crimes, particularly on the federal level.

‘Black Ink Crew’ Star Ceaser Emanuel Released Following Animal Abuse Video

Ceaser Emanuel is no stranger to making headlines for the wrong reasons. On Wednesday, June 23rd, a video surfaced of Ceaser Emanuel abusing his pet dog. After widespread public outrage from both celebrities and fans, VH1 cut ties with the tattoo artist.

His neighbor’s security camera caught the Black Ink Crew star on video, throwing the dog outside of the house. From there, Emanuel kicks the pup, before repeatedly beating it with a folded lawn chair.

VH1 took to Instagram on Thursday, announcing they will no longer be working with Emanuel. He has starred in all nine seasons of Black Ink Crew to this point.

WARNING: Please be advised that the following video contains graphic content that some viewers may find upsetting.

Emanuel’s co-star, Donna Lombardi, reposted the video on her Instagram, calling for charges to be pressed. She stated in her caption, “Your karma has been adding up for years, but to do this to two innocent dogs!?! This is crazy. CHARGES NEED TO BE PRESSED, and CANCELLATIONS NEED TO BE MADE.”

Ceaser Emanuel’s History of Abuse

Lombardi also commented on accusations that Emanuel hit his daughter. She went on to accuse VH1 and Black Ink Crew of actively protecting Emanuel by maligning her relationship. Fans also expressed their ire, with one comment stating, “CANCEL THIS F**KING B***H DAVID EMANUEL AKA CEASER FROM BLACK INK CREW.”

This is by no means Ceaser Emanuel’s first accusation of abuse. He allegedly attacked his daughter while she was in the shower over dirty dishes, as previously mentioned. Crystal, his daughter’s mother, has accused Ceaser of abuse on multiple occasions. In fact, she filed court documents to prevent him from seeing their daughter or even entering a ten-mile radius of her.

Ceaser is yet to respond to the video, neither confirming nor denying the accusations of animal abuse.

Bobby Shmurda Drops Rant On Producers Overcharging Him

Bobby Shmurda announced a new EP was on the way this summer, but it seems that plans for new Shmurda music are once again derailed.

Shmurda dropped a minute-long clip on Instagram on his side of the rapper vs. producer relationship. The Brooklyn rapper trashes producers for their greed and up charging him for beats. He once again states that he is trying to release new music, but producers are overcharging him. Shmurda explains that producers are sending beats that already feature multiple voices over it. While he can certainly afford it, Bobby expresses that he isn’t paying for production already used by other artists.

He commented, “I’m trying to drop my project but these n***** is asking me clearances, and these f*cking producers is asking for some crazy sh*t. I don’t know what rumors is going around they think that Bobby is just dropping bags this that whatever.”

A quick watch of the video shows just how livid Shmurda is.

Bobby Shmurda vs. Epic Records

After Bobby Shmurda went viral with the single Hot N****, Epic Records quickly signed the Brooklyn drill artist. He reached No. 6 on the top charts with the single, along with successful remixes. From there, his debut studio album was scheduled for a 2016 release.

However, Shmurda received a six-year prison sentence and the album was postponed. His prison release came in February 2021, with fans desperate for new Shmurda tracks.

A year later in February 2022, Shmurda took to Instagram, voicing his displeasure with Epic Records.
