Several charges against Polo G were dropped earlier this year after the rapper took an anger management class. Polo acquired the charges after an incident in Miami led to his arrest. He was accused of antagonizing Miami PD and resisting arrest, although nonviolently. The situation appeared to be over, however, new footage says otherwise.

A video showing surfaced online, and Polo G’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, is not happy about it. In an interview with TMZ, he referred to the video as “heavily redacted.” The video released shows the rapper insulting members of the Miami PD. While Cohen doesn’t deny this, he says this is no excuse for how they treated his client.

“Part of being a police officer out in public, people are going to say things you are not going to like,” said Cohen.

Cohen claims Miami officers body slammed Polo G and the video doesn’t show why they pulled him over. The video in question contains the rapper bragging about money and accomplishments. “If you die right now, what can you give your kids?” you could hear the 23-year-old say. “If you die right now, what could you give the lady that you in bed with? What could you give to your mama?” Some were critical of the rapper, while some thought it was funny.

The Case Breeds Contradictions

When TMZ followed up with Miami Police, a spokesperson said they actually didn’t release the video. The video surfaced on Twitter last Thursday. As for the leak, Cohen believes there is an unreliable person on the police force. He called the leak “childish,” while further admonishing the department. He said it’s irresponsible for them to not just release the footage, but to paint his client as the aggressor. It’s unclear if the video will have long-term consequences for the rapper of Miami PD.
