When Pusha T posted a signed contract with G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam, while thanking Kanye West last month, hecaused some confusion. King Push then gave his first interview in over two years to Complex’s Speedy Mormon on Thursday (Feb. 17), in which he discussed his record deal, coming album, and more.
“Actually, the contract was just [Kanye] signing over my profits from my back-catalog and the profits for this album as well,” he explained. “Just straight to me. It wasn’t anything bad… He was just like, ‘Nah, you take the money.’ If that don’t show you that that’s your bro, I don’t know what else gon’ show you… It was very honorable.”

Despite confirming that he will always be with G.O.O.D Music, the Virginia rhymer remains unsure about his future with Def Jam beyond this contract. As the result of this contract, Pusha T will also release his anticipated 2022 album under the title “It’s Not Dry Yet.” As reported by Push, the album should be available within two to three months.
The manager of Pusha T, Steven Victor, has also confirmed that Pusha now owns his masters.
“[He’s still with] G.O.O.D. Music, he’s just not signed to Def Jam anymore,” Victor relayed. “This is his last album on Def Jam. I mean, we might re-sign with Def Jam. I’m just saying he fulfilled his contract obligation. He might re-sign with Def Jam. It’s just the whole point of it is that he’s still with Kanye regardless to wherever he ends up with his next projects. It will be with Kanye.”
‘Diet Coke’ Freestyle
In early February, Pusha released the Kanye West-assisted single “Diet Coke” as the first track from “It’s Not Dry Yet.” He then even co-signed a “Diet Coke” freestyle courtesy of Jim Jones and Fabolous. As for the album, it’s also half-produced by The Neptunes, with Yeezy handling the other half.
