Rod Wave is, once again, topping the charts! For the second time, the artist took the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200.

Rod Wave’s album, Beautiful Mind, was released on August 12, and features singles such as “Cold December,” “Stone Rolling,” and “Alone.” Billboard reported that the album was streamed 157.73 million times. After Soulfly in 2021, this makes Rod’s second no. 1 album. Wave’s Beautiful Mind album also accumulated about 115K equivalent album units during its first week after being released and 113K was made up of SEA units.

The Florida-born artist has accomplished many milestones in his music career so far. Other than his 2021’s SoulFly, Rod’s earlier albums such as Pray 4 Love and Ghetto Gospel didn’t come out on top, however, they still secured a spot in the chart’s top 10 at the time. Prior to the debut of Beautiful Mind, Rod informed his fans that this will be his “last sad ass album.” He tweeted,

“On my baby’s dis my last sad ass album I’m off dat jus wanna live happy travel get dis money”

Rod Wave sits in the the charts’ Top 5 above some today’s the greatest artists. The top 5 list includes Bad Bunny who came in at Number 2 with Un Verano Sin Ti . Beyoncé coming in Number 3 with Renaissance and Megan Thee Stallion following at Number 4 with Traumazine. Lastly, #YoungBoyNeverBrokeAgain hitting Number 5 with The Last Slimeto. DJ Akademiks even placed his bets that Rod’s album was going to make it to no. 1. On Aug. 19, Akademiks tweeted,

“Rod Wave ‘Beautiful Mind’ sells 125K first week. He will easily get the #1 spot on billboard next week.”

Originally, Rod’s “Beautiful Mind” album was delayed as he was arrested and charged with battery back in May. Wave pushed the album release to June, previewing some new music. Although the album was pushed back even further, everything seems to have settled down with the case as Rod was able to walk away. Check out what Twitter has to say regarding his no. 1 debut.
