Ari Lennox Trashes Abusive Relationships – Picks Up Self-Love And Family

R&B singer Ari Lennox is now very clear about what she wants from a relationship.

Ari Lennox has no more to do with abusive relationships. Ari now wants a “nice” person, as she also talked about in an entertaining interview with the Breakfast Club Power 105.1FM.

Although it sounds all like a joke, Ari doesn’t seem happy with the experiences she had dating up-and-coming rappers “they just won’t say it ’til like, you like them. And it’s just like, ‘Well, I’m ’bout to go to the studio.’ What?! Why?! What studio?”

And it didn’t stop at that. Ari Lennox has learned a lesson from a relationship with someone who “pretended like the singing part didn’t even exist” and “always kinda diminished everything about me,” Lennox explained.

Ari is a 2022 nominee BET Award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist Nominee.

Meanwhile, the Breakfast Club interview isn’t the first time Ari Lennox has been talking about the matter recently.

“Age/Sex/Location”

Before the release of her album “Age/Sex/Location” on Sep 9, Ari took some time explaining to J.Cole what the new album meant to her. The “Queen Space” artist recalled the past.

“I spent so much time seeing the god and good in some abusive people,” Ari Lennox’s message reads. “Neglecting my needs and self-worth. Romanticizing terrible people. Ignoring red flags… my opinions and those knots in my stomach when interacting with people I’m dating.”

And now, that’s in the past. “No more tiptoeing. No more docile. Providing grace and compassion to myself. Blocking those that no more serve me or just literally not responding… Allowing accountability and maturing…growth to happen…self-worth and self-love and inner work to happen,” Ari added.

What Next For Ari Lennox?

It is time to allow “desperation and neediness to fade…The end of searching for anything other than self-love and family. Pouring into me and giving the greatest love to me.”

The situation with her father, where they are not on talking terms now, “sucks.” It is one of the areas needing Lennox’s attention now. “I wanna continue my therapy alone, but I think that would probably be best because I know these are things that I’m even carrying into my dating life, you know what I’m saying…I do wanna be more compassionate because he went through a lot, you know, with foster care and abandonment issues and all kinds of like dark things, so I do recognize like why he is the way that he is,” Ari said.

Family Relationship Lessons for People

Several people identify with Ari’s father-daughter relationship issue.

Ama Deon feels so connected to the development. “I relate to her life and her music. Her disappointment came from dad, mine come from both, and it literally bled into my personal life. I’m forced to heal now, alone, so I get it ari,” he commented.

A father in a similar situation makes a case for such parents. “Man Im going thru it with my oldest daughters. Definitely made me choke up seeing Ari and thinking of my girls. But Envy is right. Parents need grace and forgiveness too. We arent perfect and most of us literally are doing the BEST WE CAN,” Damien Taylor said.

VonRay confessed that “as a father, it actually affected me seeing her get sad and choked up when she started talking about her issues with her dad. One thing is for sure, watching your daughter(s) cry will hit you hard every single time. No matter what the situation is, he needs to reach out and they need to heal together once and for all. Ari, y’all are in my Prayers….️”

And so many more prayers for her and different families going through stress and strain continue beyond the social media spaces.

Courtney Tailor Captured Attacking Christian Obumseli Months Before His Murder

New video evidence has come to light that shows Instagram and Onlyfans model, Courtney Tailor, attacking her boyfriend. As previously reported, police responded to a call where they found Christian Tobechukwu Obumseli, Tailor’s boyfriend, with a knife wound in his heart. Obumseli was taken to the hospital where he would later be declared dead.

This later resulted in Courtney Tailor being arrested in Hawaii for second-degree murder. However, the new video is said to be captured months before his death. This indicates that Tailor assaulted her boyfriend prior to his death in Miami.

The video is taken from a security camera located in the elevator of a building. In the video, that’s only about a minute long, Tailor is shown to be annoyed while trying to pick a floor which results in her punching the screen. Obumseli walks in a few seconds later and tries to calm down his girlfriend only for her to turn and begin hitting him. She beats on him and tugs on his hair before he tries to push her away. See the full video obtained by TMZ.

Details From Courtney Tailor’s Arrest Warrant

TMZ also obtained the arrest warrant for Courtney Tailor which states the video was taken in February. The warrant states that “Courtney and Christian had a tempestuous relationship since Nov 2020, with multiple incidents of domestic violence from both sides over the period of the relationship.”

The warrant also paints the picture of Obumseli’s death in a rather graphic way. The documents also state Tailor was arrested in July of last year in Vegas for domestic battery against Obumseli. Cops spoke with Tailor’s mother who confirmed she was on the phone with her daughter at the time of the stabbing. She told officers that she could hear her daughter yelling at her boyfriend, saying he was “lying”. Cops also stated that Courtney herself admitted to killing her boyfriend. However, Tailor added,

“I really don’t know if this was justified at all.”

India Arie Strikes Out at the Music Industry, “TRASH. It steals from artists”

Sometimes a walk down memory lane brings peace. Other times it brings anger. And yet, sometimes it brings both. Lashing out in a post yesterday, India Arie harshly criticizes the music industry. The RnB artist has focused her work on empowerment, one of her stand-out songs is, “I Am Not My Hair,” which criticizes conventional standards of beauty.  In 2017 she released “Breathe,” a song about the killing of Eric Garner in support of BLM. Clearly, she’s never been shy about expressing her true feelings or drawing attention to movements she is passionate about. Something snapped yesterday and the result is immortalized on social media. India Arie’s scathing comments reference her early experiences in the music industry. An industry she calls, “SHEER and utter trash.”

India Arie’s 10-Year Challenge

The 10-year challenge has been flooding social media in recent weeks. It asks individuals to post a picture of themselves now, and a picture from 10 years ago. The goal of the challenge is to demonstrate personal growth, successes, and general positivity. India Arie reportedly participated in the challenge earlier this week. Yet, her post wasn’t particularly positive.

Instead, the artist took the opportunity to draw attention to a social issue: The mistreatment of artists in the music industry. She starts off combative, “seeing old pictures reminds me of how TRASH the music industry is.” Arie elaborates, emphasizing the industry’s tendencies towards racism, sexism, and deceit. Without specifically detailing her experiences, she explains that they have forever altered who she is as a person. Then, she turns the post on its head by thanking the industry, despite its immoral activities. India Arie is confident in who she is, and is glad to be that person; despite the “high cost,” she feels, “the journey was all meant to be.”

A Common Sentiment

India Arie isn’t the first to express dissatisfaction with the music industry lately. It seems more and more artists are coming forward with stories of their negative experiences. Lil Xan, for example, recently accused his manager of enabling his drug addiction while on tour. As more artists start sharing their negative experiences with the industry and as new technologies allow artists to sidestep conventional paths to success, we may see a musical Renaissance. Who do you think is going to come forward next?
