Stem Player Release Disqualifies Ye From Billboard

Kanye West recently released Donda 2 for the world to consume through the Stem Player but his decision to release the album through his Stem Player disqualifies him from the Billboard charts.

New Album On Stem Player

Kanye had decided to put Donda 2 on his Stem Player device. This also means that you can’t find Donda 2 on any streaming service. To get the album, you must buy the $200 streaming device. You can download the album after buying the device.

Currently, this is the only way to listen to Ye’s new album. He first released four tracks of the album and then he released 12 more songs. It is unknown if Kanye will release more tracks but as of know the 16 tracks are available for owners of the Stem Player. This is clever way of releasing an album, though, unfortunately it’s also against the Billboard charts eligibility requirements.

Why This Disqualifies Ye?

The Billboard charts will also no longer count album’s that are bundled with merchandise and concert tickets. Donda 2 falls under that category because you have to purchase the Stem Player in order to get the album. This new rule has been in place for some time. Artist sell merchandise as an add-on to be counted on charts.

The Unique Device

Kanye and Kano Computing joined together and created the Stem Player. The device has gained newfound popularity with the release of Donda 2. The Stem Player allows music to be downloaded on the device giving the controller custom of the music being played. The device can separate the vocals, drums, bass, and sampled into stems. You will have the ability to edit each sound.

The design of the device is also simple. The device fits into the palm of your hand like a small skipping stone. On the top of the device are also the controls for the stems. These buttons control loops, direction, speed, and play/pause. The volume, effects, and menu are located on the side of the device. The USB and headphone ports are also on the side.

Kanye West finally cleared the rumors surrounding the infamous mic toss during his performance at the Donda 2 listening party. Most would assume he was frustrated by the technical difficulties that marred the second installment of his show.

However, that wasn’t the case. Kanye recently revealed that he hadn’t planned on performing in the first place. In fact, he stated that he’d been forced to hold the performance.

So Why Did Kanye West Throw His Microphone?

Kanye spoke to Sasha A.Berg and Esther Coco Berg on Instagram, and this is what he had to say:

“It wasn’t about the sound. It was the fact that I was told, one thing I was told was that I had to write the word ‘performance’ on the piece. But what I was giving you guys was performance art. I did these listening sessions when I dropped my album where I put a mask on and I give you this listening session and it’s an installation. “ said Kanye, as he spoke to fans.

“And they basically forced me to mix Taco Bell and KFC. They basically forced to mix tequila with cognac. So right when I did the song and I saw myself grabbing this mic and it wasn’t my original idea, I was like, ‘I’m gonna throw this mic. Why am I doing this?’”  

The rapper discussed how his idea and vision for the Donda 2 performance were completely different from the promoters.  That difference is why he threw his mic.

“I’m in control of me. To have the ability to sell out a stadium, 50,000 seats in 5 days. Then to be told by a promoter ‘still grab that mic, boy.’”

Kanye’s Another Trendy Product: The DONDA Stem Player

While the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Static” is restocking this weekend on Saturday, more eyes are on different Kanye’s item. The Chicago legend is attempting the revolutionize a new form of music consumption with his DONDA Stem Player. The $200 device is also currently the only official place to listen to Kanye’s new album DONDA 2.

Additionally, it allows buyers to isolate, manipulate, remove, etc., specific song elements. It’s hard to deny how revolutionary & immersive the Stem Player is and how much more profit he makes than streaming. It’s a move & invention that could shake up the industry, but that can’t be said confidently yet.

The Game Praises Ye and Criticizes Dre

The Game will appear on the Drink Champs podcast later this week. In a clip shared to Instagram, The Game said, “It’s crazy that Ye did more for me in the last two weeks than Dre did for me my whole career.” Ye and The Game collaborated on the “Donda 2” track “Eazy.”

This month, the pair performed the song at a “Donda 2” listening party. As a result, The Game scored his highest Billboard charting single since 2008. The rappers worked together on “Wouldn’t Get Far,” which appeared on The Game’s second album, “Doctor’s Advocate.”

The Game’s History With Aftermath Records

The Game signed to Dre’s label, Aftermath Records, in 2003. Since then, the Compton rapper had a public falling out with fellow rapper 50 Cent. They were both members of the rap group G-Unit. However, The Game left the group in 2005 after the beef became more apparent.

In a 2019 interview, Game admitted he was hurt by the distance between him and Dre. He made the 2006 song “One Blood” when he was angry and dissed several rappers. “It was my way of saying ‘f— Dre, f— 50, f— everybody…this is gonna be my payback.'” Since then, he has been seemingly in a better space about his relationships with his peers.

Before the Superbowl, rumors The Game was upset over not being included in the Halftime Show spread on social media. Dre didn’t include neither The Game nor Ye. However, the rapper took to Instagram to dispel these rumors. “I am in full support of anything and anyone who is on the help side of urban greatness,” the artist claimed. He also called it “a win for the culture.”

The episode will go up on RevoltTV’s YouTube channel Thursday. You can also listen to Drink Champs this Friday on Apple Music and Spotify.

After recently performing at Ye’s “Donda 2” listening event, Playboi Carti is also teasing a joint tour with the Chicago legend. In a deleted Instagram post, the Atlanta rapper shared a screenshot of messages between him & Ye. Interestingly, Kanye is the one that mentions the idea in their messages.

The chances of this potential tour happening are unlikely. Still, the Playboi Carti-Ye duo has been around each other a lot in recent years. In addition to hanging out, they’ve already done a handful of collaborations with each other, including a new one titled “Mr. Myiagi,” which isn’t officially out yet. Carti’s Recent Touring Success

This tour would sell out massively throughout the country quickly. Imagine 2 of the largest & most rabid fanbases in Hip-Hop gathering together in one venue for 2 very unique artists. While Ye’s name would carry the most weight, Playboi Carti’s most recent tour for his critically acclaimed “Whole Lotta Red” album was successful.

They had a very close relationship before Virgil‘s passing and Kanye is very respectful of that. Kanye & Virgil’s Relationship

Kanye and Virgil have been friends for 12 years before his passing late last year. They first came together while interning at Fendi in 2009. After that, they continued to work together within the music and fashion industry. Virgil has also worked on Kanye’s album covers. They have always been good influences in each other’s lives. The support they had for each other is unmatched;  especially when Virgil became the lead designer of Louis Vuittons Menswear collection in 2018.

Kanye’s Tuesday Night Performance

This past Tuesday night in Miami, Florida, Kanye gave his fans a glimpse of what his upcoming Donda 2 album is like. One song in particular that he premiered is “Louis Bags.” He made it very clear during his performance through is lyrics that no more business will be conducted between him and Louis Vuitton nor Birkin.

“We ain’t doin’ business, it won’t be no business.”

Besides the news about his partings with the major fashion brand, Kanye publicly praised another fellow rapper “Jack Harlow,” during their performance together. Jack Harlow expressed his gratitude saying:

“One of the greatest moments of my entire life. “Glad y’all all get front row seats to it…suddenly all the hate means nothing…imagine your hero saying this about you…I could cry.”

Kanye made quite a statement and impact in light of Louis and Jack.

Donda 2 is set to be released very soon and already has 4 tracks ready to be available on music platform Stem Player.

Apple Music Snatches Kanye West Sponsorship After He Announced Exclusive Stem Player ‘Donda 2’ Drop

Kanye West announced earlier this week (Feb. 17) that Donda 2 will drop only via Stem Player, to the chagrin of many fans. The bold move will force millions of Ye lovers to spend $200 on the music playing device in order to access the new album. This choice is undoubtedly losing West listeners, and it’s also lost him a huge sponsorship.

Apple Music cuts the cord

In an Instagram caption, The ‘Heartless’ artist detailed his reasoning for avoiding services like Spotify, Amazon, and YouTube. “Today, artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own,”  he typed.

Apple Music currently makes up 15% of the music streaming market according to a report from Midia Research. Coming only second to Spotify, Apple Music has a huge presence in the streaming era of music consumption we’re currently living in. Apparently, the suits over at Apple Music have taken notice of Kanye’s protests against streaming apps.

The controversial rapper posted an iMessage screenshot yesterday (Feb. 18) containing a message from “Damien”. Damien is presumed to be someone that works for Apple Music. “From Damian- Please inform Ye that the apple is no longer doing the sponsorship deal.” The message reads.

Kanye responded in an unserious manner, captioning the post “Duh” followed by a rolling eye and laughing emoji.

Kanye burns another bridge

Later that day, Kanye posted another iMessage screenshot. This photo contains a text from “Randy” of Live Nation pleading with West to approve a $2 million payment to vendors for his upcoming Miami listening show.  The 44-year-old agreed to the buy since “Apple pulled on their streaming deal”.

In this caption, Kanye continued to lay into Apple Music and their alleged shady practices. “I love how Apple only sees artist in only one way, They’ll sit with Daniel Ek but won’t meet with Ye.” He typed. In addition to the callout, Ye included a strange memory from a past interaction with Spotify CEO Daniel Ek. “I remember me and Virg were with Daniel Ek in the club in Stockholm and he told me he could tell I get more p—— than him.”

Apple Music wasn’t the only one blindsided by the Stem Player announcement. Fans went into an uproar upon learning they have to make an extra purchase for their favorite rapper. Some praised Kanye for demanding his respect within the industry, while others called the move money hungry and greedy.

Ye Shocks Fans: “Donda 2” Will Only Be Available On Stem Player

Donda 2 is only days away from dropping. The project will also be the 11th studio album from iconic Chicago artist Ye. Fans have been highly excited about the album since its announcement back in January. However, a recent statement from Ye may put a damper on the much-anticipated drop.

Kanye v. Streaming Services

The most popular music streaming services, including Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, and YouTube, will not house “Donda 2.” To gain access to the album, fans will also have to buy a $200 Stem Player directly from the rapper.

Artists bumping heads with streaming services is also nothing new. India Arie just recently spoke in protest of Spotify for paying artists a tiny fraction of a penny in exchange for a stream. Regardless, Ye’s approach is highly unconventional. Earlier this week (Feb. 17), Ye posted a video on Instagram of the Stem Player device in action and a caption explaining his decision. Consequently, the internet quickly reacted.

“”Donda 2″ will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple, Amazon Spotify, or YouTube,” Ye started. “Today, artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. The declaration then came with an unnamed track playing in the video. Presumably, this song will then appear on Donda 2.

The Yeezy Stem Player is a music-playing device that came out back in August last year. Its official website also boasts advanced features. Apart from Donda 2 availability, they include “control vocals, drums, bass, and samples, isolate parts, add effects, 4 channel lossless audio mixing, real-time loop, and speed control.”

The Fans Aren’t So Sure About Donda 2 Anymore?

Kanye’s strange decision also garnered a mixed reaction from his intensely loyal fan base. While many weren’t willing to shell out the $200, others maintained respect for West as an artist and defended his choice. As a result, the announcement sparked somewhat of a debate amongst music fans.

Album Release Dates For Ye & Lil Durk Crashed By Boosie Badazz; His Own Announced

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, the internet was abuzz when Boosie Badazz took to Twitter to announce the release of a brand new album alongside Lil Durk and Ye. He is following up on his previous album, which appeared in the Summer of 2021, “Goat Talk 3.”

Earlier this month, rapper Lil Durk expressed his motivation to drop his album the “same day as ye.” Kanye West and Durk are set to face off on Feb. 22. Both artists release their respective albums then, DONDA 2 and 7220. While most people select sides, others will simply enjoy all the new music released. One individual, in particular, is making sure that his voice is not left out in the cold. Two competitors are not enough, I suppose.

In a follow-up tweet, Boosie Badazz posted a picture of the alleged album cover. It shows the cameraman taking a side profile of the rapper as he poses in the middle of the smoke.

Boosie Badazz Provides Limited Information On His New Album

As far as information regarding Boosie Badazz’s upcoming album goes, the only thing open is that the record’s title is “Heartfelt.” There may be a reason for this, such as Boosie wishing to surprise his fans by providing limited information.

In spite of all the excitement surrounding the date, many fans are still skeptical about Kanye and the fact that he has failed to release albums in a timely manner in the past. In addition to coming 401 days late with Donda, this isn’t Kanye’s first late album.

As there is a lot of competition in the hip-hop industry right now, it is interesting to wonder who the next competitor dropping their album on Feb. 22 will be. Meanwhile, this situation is becoming increasingly anxious for many fans.

Ye And Kim Kardashian Lookalike Attend ‘Donda 2’ Party, Along With Travis Scott

Amidst the divorce chaos between the ex-couple of Ye and Kim Kardashian, the artist launched the “Donda 2” campaign with Kim’s lookalike model Chaney Jones, 24. She was seen in Malibu on Monday night, February 7. Last year, Ye “tied the knot” with Kim Kardashian as part of the public listening party for his album “Donda.”

Is There Tension Between Ye and Kim Kardashian?

Ye also removed all posts involving Kim Kardashian West and their children from his Instagram account. This incident followed days of contention between the ex-couple over their children.

While the divorce proceedings continue in a hostile manner, the “All Of The Lights” author has been teasing the release of his highly anticipated new album, “Donda 2.” In the studio, Ye works with countless artists such as Antonio Brown, DaBaby, Travis Scott, Madonna, Marilyn Manson, Blueface. At Nobu in Malibu, Ye held a listening session for “Donda 2” for an exclusive list of guests, including Travis Scott and Kendall Jenner. Chaney Jones, the Kim Kardashian lookalike, was also in attendance before heading to The Nice Guy with Ye afterward. It appears that Ye’s girlfriend, Julia Fox, was absent from the group.

Does Chaney Jones Resemble Kardashian?

There is no way to ignore the striking resemblance between Chaney and West’s ex. Jones has been compared to Kim Kardashian throughout her career. She sported a skintight black jumpsuit with boots, a matching purse, and a matching scarf last night. Kardashian appeared to have popularized an outfit through her work with Balenciaga the previous year.
