The eagerly awaited Jack Harlow Immersive “No Place Like Home VR Concert” is set to debut on Thursday, Jan. 4th. Fans can now catch a glimpse of what to expect from this thrilling experience in the recently released trailer.

Jack Harlow: From Humble Beginnings To The Meta Stage

Jack Harlow, the hip-hop sensation hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, embarked on his musical journey at the age of 12. As documented by Last FM back then, the aspiring artist utilized a Guitar Hero microphone and a laptop to record his rhymes and songs alongside a friend. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that he released his first commercial album. Although this marked the beginning for Harlow, he was bound for success. His arrival was not at all surprising. 

For those whose passion comes authentically, success is always bound to follow. And Harlow stands as proof. As All Music acknowledges, “his growing acclaim led to a record deal with Atlantic Records subsidiary Generation Now, which released his full-length project Loose in 2018.”

Since then, Jack Harlow has achieved immense success. “The Louisville, KY native boasts six GRAMMY Award nominations, two #1 singles, nearly 30 RIAA platinum certifications, and over 10 billion career streams to date (BECK Media).

However, pathways sometimes circle back. And Harlow’s journey brought him back to Kentucky for his third tour, “The No Place Like Home Tour.”

FMHipHop announced the advent of the enthralling experience for fans of Jack Harlow a few weeks ago. For the first time, Harlow will make his debut in a VR concert, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the performance from the comfort of their homes. The concert is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Meta Horizon World at 5 pm PT time.

This offering stands out as Meta’s inaugural fusion of a virtual concert and documentary. Fans can anticipate not only a dynamic musical journey featuring some of Harlow’s notable tracks like “Lovin On Me,” “Denver,” and “First Class” but also some additional content. Presented by Range Media Productions in collaboration with Media Monks, this collaboration with Jack Harlow promises to be a must-see event.

Meta has joined forces with Range Media Projections, Jack Harlow, and Media Monks to deliver an unparalleled virtual concert experience. The anticipation for this unique event is nothing short of thrilling and electrifying.

Jack Harlow’s Meteoric Rise

Jack Harlow, a widely recognized artist, has charted his course, building a dynamic career in the music industry. His success has been well-earned. The artist began exploring music at a young age. And he dedicated years to refining his voice and shaping his unique identity.

As noted by Billboard, “It was a full half-decade before any sort of mainstream recognition. His gifts as a technical rapper who gravitates toward a brassy punchline were clear. But he needed a few projects to gestate and evolve.”

As a VR special hosted by Shaquille O’Neal (DJ DIESEL), “The Shaq’tacular Spectacular,” an Immersive VR New Year’s Eve Countdown Special, will premiere in Meta Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV on Saturday, December 31, at 3:30pmPT/6:30pmET. It will be available on Shaquille O’Neal’s Facebook and Instagram pages and Messenger’s Watch Together.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Event Can Be Viewed Using What Devices?

For the first time, fans can experience the ultimate VR experience in each time zone with a Meta Quest 2 headset for the New Year. They will be able to interact with their friends as they dance and play games in their best New Year’s Eve attire. Users can simulate dance-offs from the show on the dance floor using the virtual spacer. If you cannot join the party when it begins, the show will run continuously throughout the evening. Therefore, you will be able to join whenever you are ready.

Performers: Who Are They?

Furthermore, music from superstars, celebrity entertainment, neon light performances, and a DJ set by our party host highlight this unforgettable event! You don’t want to miss this NYE countdown with performances by Cardi B, Ludacris, Lil Yachty, Killer Mike, WHIPPED CREAM, and DJ DIESEL. In addition, Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek are set to make appearances as special guests. Also, an outstanding lineup of performers will join Shaq on stage, surrounded by a roller rink and a basketball court. Furthermore, produced in partnership with Shaquille O’Neal’s Jersey Legends Productions and Westbrook Media, the one-hour special is custom-made for VR. Besides, this is Westbrook Media and Meta’s second VR collaboration.

“Virtual Reality has become such an exciting new way to experience and participate in and engage with entertainment and culture,” said Brad Haugen, President of Westbrook Media. “We are thrilled to partner with Shaq, the team at Jersey Legends Media.Monks and Meta invite audiences to spend New Year’s Eve with some of their favorite performers and athletes in a way that truly allows them to feel like they are in the room too.”

Shaquille Has Decades Of DJ Experience

Finally, those unaware of Shaq’s DJ skills can rest assured that it is true. In the 1980s, O’Neal began DJing at LSU. As well as that his current musical endeavors include producing electronic music under the stage name DIESEL, touring the world, and under the management of Medium Rare. In addition, O’Neal’s first set as DJ DIESEL took place at the 2021 Electric Daisy Carnival on October 23, 2021, in Las Vegas.

In the industry, only a few have the cojones to go where few have gone before. It takes a lot to step out and shape the trends. Jones does it effortlessly. He is again busting down doors, as one of the first to take his music full meta.

Hip Hop Cultural Trendsetters

Hip hop itself is known for the trends it sets. We see this reflected in a continuous loop in society. And one of the hallmarks of a hip-hop icon is the ability to harness creative power and influence the masses in new ways. Jones is making iconic moves. He’s moving with a means to shape the world and culture in which he takes residence. As Jones mentions in Level

 “I’m probably one of the first few people to ever mention NFTs on a commercial platform.”

And we believe him.

To be the first in anything takes enormous gravitas, and Jones has it in spades. But this is no new thing for the artist. Being a frontrunner is in his blood. And he is not afraid to tell the world so. In his words, he was a hustler before he was an artist. As he revealed to Level,

“I don’t see many hustles I’m scared of doing, Hustling came from Harlem, and the rap game just enhanced my hustle.”

Hustlers are always going to do what hustlers do. So, he continues to make moves.

The video in question is a collaborative work between Jones and Migos. Not only was the cutting-edge video fully Meta, but it also made its debut in the Metaverse. Level describes the video as deep-diving into the luminous and immersive (metaverse) web 3.0. The originality alone is indeed something to get hype over.

Keeping It Humble

While Jones is, without a doubt, a phenom, he is equally humble. For those who want to know his secret, as Jones told Level,

“Prayer and a Lot of Luck.”

That’s something we can dig.
