Saweetie Announces “Pretty B*tch Music” Will Be Delayed “Not An Album- It’s A Movement”

One thing Saweetie is going to do is show off! The rapper keeps her icy family up to date with new music, fashion, and the latest trends. However, the “Tap In” artist has yet to give us an entire album in quite some time. As Saweetie’s been teasing her new album, “Pretty B*tch Music,” she recently announced a delay in the project, realizing her God-given purpose.

Saweetie dropped her last album, “ICY,” in 2019 and is currently working on “Pretty B*tch Music,” which has been in the oven “baking.”

The Icy Queen recently took to Instagram to then express her decision to delay her upcoming album.

“These past couple of years have been a growing experience for me as an artist, human, but most importantly a WOMAN. I have realized my purpose with the platform God have given me which is why I have taken my time with releasing music this time around. Through hours of self-reflection, I have realized that Pretty B*TCH music is not an album- it’s a movement.” She continues to say, “It’s a culture. It’s a language. It’s a lifestyle. We not rushing art, we taking our time! This ain’t no microwave sh*t It’s baking & it will definitely be worth the taste.”

All HipHop reports back in November of 2021, the “Back To The Streets” rapper revealed she would be dropping the project soon. In February, she then stated that “Pretty B*tch Music” would be available to stream “definitely before the summer.” 

Complex also previously reported that Saweetie sat down in a June 2021 interview with Big Tigger from BET. She said her goal “is for people to really feel something with every song.”

“Just Know That I’m A Perfectionist And It’s On The Way.”

In the meantime, while we wait for the album, The Icy girl was honored as the first Global Culture Consultant of Champion and made the worldwide face of the sports brand.

Cardi B Sprays Whipshots at Fans During Pride Parade

Cardi B joins West Hollywood in celebrating Pride month. The rapper spent the beginning of summer shooting her famous vodka-infused Whipshots into the mouths of fans while enjoying the three-day event.

In a video released online, Cardi sprayed a bunch of Whipshot all over one woman’s face. The accidental yet hilarious incident happened during the parade on Santa Monica Boulevard. In the video, Cardi is heard yelling, “Damn I got sh*t all over your face, sorry ma’am, sorry, sorry, sorry!”

Cardi Shows Support for LGBTQ Community Despite Past Homophobic Accusations.

During the event, Cardi flaunts a vibrant rainbow jumpsuit to show her support for Pride. Although haters would say the star has no sense of class, everyone seemed to be having fun and the fan didn’t seem to mind being sprayed.

Back in 2020, Twitter had claimed Cardi B “canceled” and accused her of being homophobic which she clapped back to say, “How the fuck am I homophobic or transphobic?” She continued, “have you been to a Caribbean island where you really see homophobia? Have you dealt with a parent that can’t accept you for your sexuality? I said some ignorant things b4 that apologized for & educated myself on it don’t mean I’m homo.” While the star has many family, friends and fans in the community, she opens up about her sexual experience as well saying she had questioned her interest in women and that she felt her cousin’s pain and confusion when he came out.

Other than the artist’s famous sister, Hennessy Carolina, who is also part of the LGBTQ community with her partner Michelle Diaz, Cardi has also shown love to her good friend Raven-Symoné over the years. The That’s So Raven actress has been married to her wife, Miranda Maday since June of 2020. The two even helped a same-sex couple officially tie the knot on their wedding day. Doja Cat Expected To Take Over BET Awards

The Billboard-winning superstar, Doja Cat is so good at turning heads and catching the public’s attention! The star continues to shine in each award show. Doja leads the BET Award nominations with six nods.

Other than topping this year’s Billboard Music Awards, the 26-year-old achieved her first Grammy in April, where she won Best Pop Duo/Performance for “Kiss Me More” feat. SZA. Taraji P. Henson will host for a second time at the BET Awards. The collab was not only nominated for Best Collaboration but also Video of the Year. “Planet Her,” is also up for Album of the Year, and the artist is also a contender for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, and BET Her for “Woman.”

Although Doja Cat seems to have an abundance of support from her millions of fans, there has been some controversy about what genre of music she resides in.

Since Doja Cats rise to success, many have been curious as to what kind of music the star releases. Many believe Doja should be called a rapper, others say her style is more Pop or Hip-Hop. While Wale praised her for being one of the best female rappers, Remy Ma doesn’t seem to agree.

According to an interview with Elle Magazine, The “Get Into It” artist considers herself Hip-Hop at heart. Someone who was raised listening to 90’s legends such as Busta Rhymes and Lauryn Hill, Doja says, “I’ve rapped since the beginning, and I really couldn’t even sing that well to begin with—I got a lot better,” she states. “I use my voice as a tool to create these worlds, and it’s fine if people think that I can’t rap.”

Doja Cat faces criticism all the time will continue to face competition in the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist category at the BET Awards as Cardi B, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Saweetie are all nominated as well. She also recently announced her new music video arriving this week! Check out a clip of “Vegas” (From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack ELVIS) below, which drops Friday, June 3rd.

New Orleans Legend Turk Claims French Montana Stole His Lyrics

French Montana is facing legal charges after the rapper Turk accused him of taking his lyrics. Lawyers of Turk and French Montana are already involved in the matter. A judge could also eventually could be making a decision on the issue.

Turk’s Lawyers Send French Montana A Demand Letter

TMZ reported that the lawyers of Turk, a former member of iconic Lousiana-based  rap group, Hot Boys, sent French Montana’s lawyers a demand letter. The letter claims that French Montana used lyrics from a Hot Boys song in a French song dropped in 2021. The song in question is titled “Handstand” featuring Doja Cat and Saweetie. Turk’s demand letter says that lyrics used on “Handstand” were taken from one of the groups biggest hit, “I Need A Hot Girl.”

Turk Was A Member of The Hot Boys

The Hot Boys was a four-member rap group that formed in the ’90s and lasted through the early ’00s. Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., and Turk were the members of the group. Their sound captured the the life of their ghetto making them stand out from everyone else, sticking to their New Orleans roots and bringing that Louisiana flare to the world. Unfortunately, the group broke up but their music is still a vibe.

The Lyrics In Question

In the chorus of “Handstand” the lines are “ You need a project b***h, a hood rat b***h/One don’t give a f**k and say she took that d**k”. These lyrics are almost identical to lines rapped by Turk on “I Need A Hot Girl.”

French Montana bought the “I Need A Hot Girl” track and he cleared the music for use but Turk does not agree. A close source to Montana gave TMZ this information.

It’s hard to say if the success of “Handstand” is why Turk is suing French Montana. Hopefully, the two parties come to an understanding both can agree with.

Doja Cat Dubs Jack Harlow After He Confessed His Love To Her

Although Jack Harlow may be topping the Billboard charts with his new single “First Class”, he may not be Doja Cats’ first choice.

According to Hip Hop DX, the two rappers went Instagram live together on Wednesday, May 4th. Jack Harlow invited Doja Cat into his life where he decided it would be a great time to shoot his shot.  Upon Doja entering the live, Harlow states how people thought they were dating due to the resemblance of her mysterious boyfriend.  She proceeds to ask Jack how tall he is, comparing her man’s height when she randomly says “hi, you’re great”.  Harlow responds by saying “hi you’re great, I’m happy you’re in here”. She then asks if he’s Jewish and goes on to leave the Instagram live stating her wig is coming up. Just before she exits, Harlow confessed he loved her, to which he got no reaction.

Harlow’s Celebrity Crush’s

As the Louisville rapper goes on to admit he’s had a crush on Doja for months, this wouldn’t be his first attempt at shooting his shot. Back in February,the the rapper admitted to having a “thing” for Yung Miami.  FM Hip Hop reported the rapper held a questionnaire on his Instagram in which a fan asked “who do you love?”. Harlow responded by throwing up a picture of the Miami city girl. Also in June of 2021, Jack Harlow made his interest in Saweetie well known when he took a shot at the “Back To The Streets” rapper on the red carpet.

In other news, today, May 6th, is an exciting day for Jack Harlow fans as he drops his new album, Come Home The Kids Miss You. On May 3, the rapper teased an unreleased single which he titled after the “Don’t Start Now” pop sensation, Dua Lipa. He raps, “Dua Lipa, I’m tryna do more with her than do a feature/I check the web, they out here chewin’ me up/Fuck it,”. This could be Harlow taking his shot at Dua Lipa as well, but what’s the guy got to lose even if he was?

Saweetie Shows Off Her Mom On Instagram To Enchant Fans

Saweetie is blown away by the attention her mother, Trinidad Valenti, is getting. She appeared on stage to present her daughter with the Game Changer Award at the 2022 Billboard Women in Music event.

Furthermore, following the event, the Pretty B*tch music rapper took to social media to give fans a glimpse at her mom from several different views. Including a behind-the-scenes look at Valentin preparing for the award show. In addition, there was an immediate recognition of the similarity between the mother and daughter.

“Yall look like sisters. Not mom and daughter,” said one fan. “How df y’all look like sisters,” said another.

Saweetie chose to repost the stunning mirror selfie with her mom for her Twitter followers to view. Her Instagram caption read, “mahal kita mamaaa” followed by some loving emojis.

Mother Receives Compliments On Twitter

Tweeters praised the mother-daughter photo. However, some people felt Valentin looked even more beautiful than her daughter. “Your mama kinda ate you up ,idk,” one user commented. “Why she eat you up like that,” another one agreed.

Moreover, the “My Type” rapper retweeted some of her fans during her morning Twitter activity.; however, she even retweeted an old video one of her fans posted featuring her and her mother jamming out to “High Maintenance.” Similarly, this track came out in 2018. In the video, the two appear to be dancing and singing along to the line she refers to as the “Filipino Queen.”

It’s safe to say Saweetie’s mother will have the spotlight in the future.

Valentin Expresses How Proud She Is Of Saweetie

After all, Valentin delivered a moving speech describing how “proud” she is of her daughter’s development as an artist. Also, after finding a poem written by her mother as a child, Saweetie discovered a fascination with poetry. “Her poetry had turned into rhyming, and rhyming into rapping,” she explained.

Damson Idris of Snowfall Clarifies His Relationship With Sawettie

Sometimes it is hard to evade the press, as Damson Idris, star of the hit series “Snowfall,” has realized. As a result, Idris has found himself clarifying for the press his current relationship with Saweetie.

In a moment of incredulous awe, Idris shared a clip of Saweetie playing piano classic “Fur Elise!”  Damson captioned the post,

“@Saweetie, my [Piano] teacher.”

The masses went wild. Immediately people started questioning if the two were dating.

Things go viral rather quickly; all it takes is one swipe or press of a button then one is left to draw up their defense. 

The Press Doesn’t Relent

Inarguably, no one is privy to an explanation. People should be able to visit others without the media thinking wedding bells are in the air. But, as most know, social media is a fickle beast. However, Idris did not clarify anything at the time. However,  the star has since relented.

Idris Clears the Air

The actor recently made an appearance on the “Breakfast Club” when again he was asked about Saweetie. Once and for all, the young actor laid all his cards on the table. The “Snowfall” king said, 

“Me and that queen are just friends!”

The Questions Keep Coming

The inquiry didn’t stop there. People have to get all the details to draw their conclusion. So Idris was asked to explain his rationale for dipping out of Saweetie’s pad. Idris responded.

“I was in there for like five minutes, and I dipped out. She’s a friend of mine!”

Idris’s Availability

No doubt, some were upset about the proclamation. Then again, others are equally happy as Idris remains a prospect. Before he jumped off the topic, he added he is currently single. Not only is he single as far as it is known, Saweetie is also single. 

Two Bright Stars

Both Idris and Saweetie are bright stars in the hip-hop universe. Saweetie is putting her blood, sweat, and passion into her projects, as displayed in her recent Billboard Music Award win. Amazingly she received the honor of Game Changer. And of course, Idris is doing his thing on “Snowfall,” one of the most intriguing series currently on air.

NBC’s NYE Special Performers Include Saweetie, Jack Harlow, 24k Goldn and More

Miley Cyrus and comedian Pete Davidson’s New Year’s Eve special is set to air on NBC. The 28-year-old “We Can’t Stop” singer is sure to bring the party this year. NBC’s NYE Party will include performances by Jack Harlow, Saweetie, 24kGoldn and Kitty Ca$h. This is a party you will not want to miss as we close out yet another Covid-filled year.

To bring in the new year, the special stream live event airs on December 31st. This special night is usually in Times Square but is taking its talents down to the Miami, Florida. Host Carson Daly’s time as NBC’s New Year’s Eve host will conclude after 16 years! Peacock is credited as co-producer alongside SNL writer and producer, Lorne Michaels.

With performances by Icy Girl Saweetie, this special is sure to be one to remember. Saweetie has had a miraculous career turnaround in 2021. Her name has been swirling in the mouth’s of just about everyone after her split with Migos rapper, Quavo. She has obtained back-to-back major deals from McDonald’s to M.A.C Cosmetics. She also secured a sex positivity special with Netflix, a cosmetics contract with M.A.C, a number of magazine covers, and sizzling hot performances.

Jack Harlow is ending 2021 with his rise to super stardom. His red carpet risk with Saweetie showcased his charm and love for the ladies. Harlow is also know as a hometown hero and humanitarian. He recently partnered with Kentucky Fried Chicken to donate to the tornado relief. His banger with Lil Nas X has landed him another No.1 on the Billboard charts with “Industry Baby.” Could we  get a snippet at the new year’s party?

Lastly, with 24kGoldn fresh off his hit with DaBaby, “Coco,” With over 30 million views on YouTube, he is sure to have the crowd moving. Kitty Ca$h is a fresh addition to the roster. She just dropped, “Just Fine” which features Kiana Lede. This new voice of the ladies in R&B has everyone waiting on her performance.

This line-up is fresh and displays the newest attractions of the music industry. With wild girl host Miley, and front funnyman Pete, this special is all that is happening as we transition into the new year.

Bay Area rapper Saweetie is catching flack for a lackluster vocal and dance performance at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball. Social media couldn’t help but react.

Saweetie Set Goes Sour

IHeartRadio held their annual Jingle Ball concert this past Friday (December 10). The holiday-themed event had a star-studded lineup featuring Ed Sheeran, Lil Nas X, the Jonas Brothers, and more. However, the artist that made the most noise on social media after the event was “Icy Girl” Saweetie.

The 28-year-old rapper has faced criticism in the past for her limited dancing abilities and tendency to run out of breath mid-performance. Nevertheless, she’s marched on with her career, even partaking in a “boot camp” to become a stronger entertainer. This makes last week’s iHeartRadio performance all the more flustering for the West Coast star.

In the now-viral clip, we can see Saweetie clicking her heels before bending over and attempting a seductive dance routine.  She appears to have forgotten song lyrics in some extended footage of the performance.

This comes after her controversial Saturday Night Live performance a few weeks back (Nov. 21). Similarly to the Jingle Ball debacle, she experienced issues with projecting her voice and retaining her breath during her SNL set. While this is a common problem for live performers, the criticism was exacerbated by her simple and low-energy choreography.

Some have placed the blame on Saweetie’s seemingly poor diet. She has gone viral in the past for her unusual and often unhealthy recipes including noodles with Hot Cheetos and a McChicken and a McDouble with fries stuffed in between.

Saweetie Opens Up About Her Mental Health During 2021 In People Mag Interview

Saweetie has been nothing short of inspiring. Since the middle of 2021, she has been dominating the music industry and other business ventures. From teaming up with Xbox and McDonalds to earning a Grammy nomination for her hit single, “Best Friend (feat. Doja Cat), she’s constantly evolving. So, it came as a shock to the world when she admitted to battling mental health issues. 

During an interview with People Magazine, she unveiled that she deals with anxiety daily. But she’s working on conquering this. 

“I try to take things day to day. Sometimes I can’t look at my calendar on my weekly schedule because it’ll give me anxiety,” the female rapper said. “I feel like what I’m working for is starting to pay off, so I’m just really grateful for that to be acknowledged.”

Saweetie adds, “It’s like I live, sleep, eat, and breathe music and business.”

“My team is really small, so I have to take responsibilities that eventually somebody else will. But because my team is small, I have to help them out.”

She plans on taking a break around Christmas to recharge. She intends on going somewhere tropical to release some stress.

“I’m going to take a deep breath,” she says. “Hopefully, I’m able to evaluate, reflect on, and see what I can do better next year. I work a lot. Balance needs to happen.”

She continued, “It’s just trying to find balance right now. I have no balance. Everything is just work, work, work, and I don’t have an outlet. I don’t have a therapist. I don’t hang out with any of my friends because I work so much, so it’s just trying to thug it out into until the New Year.”

“I’ve had mental breakdowns, and it’s just really stressful, but it’s nice to be acknowledged because it lets me know that my hard work isn’t going unnoticed.”

Saweetie plans on releasing an EP titled Icy Season on January 7th. Currently, she’s adding the finishing touches to her debut album Pretty Bitch Music.
