Ti and Boosie Badazz Resolve Their Beef at a St. Louis Airport

T.I. and Boosie, two southern rap icons, recently came to blows online over a long-forgotten story. But it appears things have smoothed over.

A Quick Meetup

This past Sunday (Apr 9), Boosie and T.I ran into each other at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. A photo was taken of the pair and quickly spread across social media. Many fans expressed curiosity about the unheard conversation or suspected Boosie wasn’t too happy from his facial expression.

The surprise meet-up follows the Legends Never Die Concert, in which both men performed together. In addition to this, Nelly, Twista, and Jeezy made an appearance at the star-studded event. Since the photo has gone viral, neither T.I or Boosie have made any comment.

Boosie Speaks

The argument initially started back in February when the ‘Wipe Me Down’ rapper called out T.I for admitting to throwing a gun charge on his deceased cousin to avoid jail time.

“With the T.I. situation, if he did that – you a fucking rat too,” Boosie said. “I don’t spare no muthafuckin’ body. Because if you doing anything wrong, you doing anything criminal and you cooperate with law enforcement to get you out of trouble – that means you’re cooperating. That means you’re a rat.”

He continued to explain, “But I’ma tell you like this. When I saw that, I think, ‘T.I. fucking lying.’ I think he went up there and just got to fucking talking. You think something happen at 17, 18 years old … you gon’ hold that in all them damn time? All this damn time for 20 some years, you gon’ hold that in? And it finally came out?”

T.I. Responds

In the same interview, Boosie confirmed he’s canceling the joint album with T.I. The Louisiana artist has been a longtime advocate of the “no snitching” policy that has dominated rap culture for decades.  Later that month, the ATL star had an interview with Rich Trapper where he claimed his story was largely fabricated. The 42-year-old also clarified the story stemmed from “Humor, sarcasm, and satire”.

“It came from a conversation that my partner and I was having, and that conversation was, ‘Hey bruh, if me and you catch a case together and I die before you, it’s mine.’” T.I explained. “He like, ‘Nah, I can’t do that.’ Yes, you can. It’s mine, why can’t you? I don’t understand it. He said, ‘Nah, I can’t do it. I can’t say nothing about anybody who do, but I can’t do it.’”

If that isn’t enough, in addition to this T.I. posted a photo of court paperwork on his Instagram story to clear his name. The 2003 Fulton County case involved an “illegal stop, arrest, search and seizure and interrogation” causing all evidence to be thrown out. This supports T.I.’s story of embellishing the tale with his cousin since a confession would reflect in the court documents.

To further drive the point home T.I hosted a “paperwork party” in Atlanta and publicly acknowledged an absent Boosie. “I just don’t like for a n-gga to God damn get fly then get shy, you hear me?” the ‘Live Your Life’ Rapper said. “My n-gga, I’m right here in the center, so come on if you got something to say about me, if you think it is what it ain’t. There’s one way to clear it up: pull on up, let me show you what you looking for.”

By March, things seemed to have cooled down between the duo. In a TMZ interview, TI denied having any beef with Boosie and said the ‘Slayed’ rapper simply misspoke. Let’s hope these two industry vets can keep things civil.

T.I. Got Jeezy To Quit Dealing

During a recent Drink Champs interview, Jeezy talks about how he was influenced by Tip to focus on his music career instead of dealing.

Recently, Jeezy has been thinking a lot about the past.

Jeezy had been dealing cocaine since he was 11. He openly worked with the Black Mafia Family and even regularly showed up in their promotion videos. However, he did not sign with their label. Instead, he went with Def Jam. BMF’s co-founder, Big Meech, does not seem too fussed about this in retrospect.

How Jeezy left the drug game

While Jeezy was working on his major label debut, “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101”, he was pulled aside by Tip to the bathroom. Tip did not want the conversation to be overheard. Jeezy was told to just focus on his music career. Tip told him that he can’t do both. He can’t deal drugs and make music. Things will not end up well if he continues down this trend.

Jeezy knows that Tip was also a drug dealer and asked about that. Tip told him that he had already quit that line of work a long time ago.

Tip did not need a wake-up call. In 1999, when he got his chance to escape the dealer lifestyle, he immediately took it. He only dealt drugs as a necessity. When his music career took off, he never looked back. He then used his time on the streets to invent trap music as we know it.

Jeezy took the advice to heart, much to the ridicule of his friends, since it is hard to get a successful music career. However, he got the last laugh when his music played on the radio.

Jeezy uses that time of his life for musical influence. He raps about what he knows and hustling is all that he knows.

T.I. Names Top 5 Atlanta Rap Albums

Although, he has made headlines for his beef with Charleston White this week.  There is another spotlight on T.I., this time in reference to the music.  The Atlanta legend named his top five Atlanta Hip Hop albums.  He was on the show, Fresh Pair, where he discussed this topic with hosts Katty Customs and Just Blaze.  The self-proclaimed “King of the South” named OutKast, Goodie Mob, Young Thug, Future, and 21 Savage to have the top five Atlanta albums.

Tip’s Top 5

To our surprise, TIP did not name any of his albums in his list.  Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik by OutKast, Soul Food by Goodie Mob, Slime Season by Young Thug, Dirty Sprite by Future, and I am > I was by 21 Savage all are near and dear to the 42-year-old rapper’s heart.  We all know T.I. is no slouch himself.  He has released 11 studio albums; in which 3 straight years he had the #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.  This includes King in 2006, T.I. vs. T.I.P in 2007, and Paper Trail in 2008.  The Grammy winning rapper has also racked up four #1 singles on the Billboard 100 chart.  This includes ‘Whatever You Like’, ‘My Love’, ‘Blurred Lines’, and ‘Live Your Life’.  He definitely has the right to include one of his projects in this discussion.  I get it, I guess he is just being humble.

Fresh Pair

Fresh Pair is a new show by UpRoxx where sneakerhead Katty Customs and legendary producer Just Blaze talk with some of the biggest stars in hip hop.  They discuss music, culture, sneakers, and fashion.  Recently, The Game was on an episode and the hosts asked him to name his top five Los Angeles rap albums.  The Compton rapper named The Chronic, Doggystyle, The Documentary, good kid, m.A.A.d city, and Death Certificate on his list.  Of course, The Game included himself and I don’t blame him.

Lil Duval Breaks Leg in Car Accident

Comedian Lil Duval was in a car accident last night.  In the Bahamas, his quad was hit by a car, and he was rushed to the hospital.  The 45-year-old took to Instagram to share the footage.  In the video, you can see Duval with bandages all over his head, chest, and arms.  He was put in an airplane and flew to the city of Nassau, where he was treated for a broken leg.

Many rappers took the time to send their wishes.  50 Cent wished Duval a speedy recovery and prayers for his family.  T.I. sent prayers for him while reminding him to settle down when he is well.  2 Chainz chimed in as well, hoping for his friend’s safety. Before the crash, Duval was on Instagram documenting his trip.  He even taped himself on the four-wheeler testing it out.

Duval Watches P-Valley

Recently, the Florida native caught some slack on Twitter for his comments about the TV series, P-Valley. P-Valley airs on STARZ and it revolves around a strip club in Mississippi.  There was a scene in the show that Lil Duval wasn’t a fan of.  While Duval was watching, a sex scene between two males was in the show to his surprise.  Duval feels like there should be an advisory for scenes like that just to prepare people.  He feels that scenes like these are too much for people who don’t usually see that.

Valley Writer Claps Back

People instantly went to his comments and reacted to what he said.  The comedian was quick to explain himself stating that he doesn’t want to see anyone have sex.  He adds this does not have anything to do with being homophobic stating that he has no problem with watching shows with gay people.  He just doesn’t want to watch them have sex.  Whether it be two men, two women, or man and woman, Duval isn’t a big fan of the sex scenes.  The writer of the show, Patrik-Ian Polk responded by saying the show is not for Lil Duval and he should just watch something else.  Polk adds that the “gay ain’t goin nowhere”.

Soulja Boy Responds To a 12-Year-Old Wizkid Diss On Twitter

Soulja Boy is firing shots at Nigerian artist Wizkid over a tweet from 2010. Soulja, who has always kept his name alive through various beefs, called out Wizkid over the tweet on Sunday.

“I swear, Soulja Boy is wack! Jeeeezzzzz!, the post from July 11, 2010 read. There’s no explanation for how the tweet came to Soulja Boy’s attention, but the Atlanta rapper has never been one to tolerate disrespect.

“Ya mama wack. Shut ya b**ch a** up,” Soulja replied on July 10. Soulja Boy’s response to Wizkid has garnered over 8,000 retweets and almost 13,000 likes. Fans have chimed in on the topic over social media.

“I agree with you Soulja Boy,” tweeted one fan. The tweet ended up being liked by Soulja himself. Later on Sunday, the “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” artist went on Instagram Live to further address the situation.

“I just seen this sh*t right now n***a, you feel me?”, he said. I don’t understand how n***as can say, ‘Soulja Boy wack, Soulja Boy this, Soulja Boy that.’ But as soon as I say, ‘You’s a b*tch, ya mama,’ then it’s, ‘Oh no he’s clout chasing. Oh no he crazy. Oh no, why he say that?.'”

A Deeper Look Into The Wizkid Tweet

At the time of the tweet, Wizkid was only 19 years and had released singles from his debut album Superstar, which dropped in 2011. Meanwhile, Soulja was the same age and had already released two albums with classic hits such as “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” and “Turn My Swag On.”

As mentioned, however, Soulja Boy is no stranger to beef. He’s had conflicts with numerous artists in the industry throughout his career. Chris Brown, Lil Yachty and Bow Wow are some of the more notable examples.

In a recent interview, A$AP Rocky claimed that rap music hasn’t been as “mature” since Soulja Boy’s debut.

“Rap is in its adolescence and it’s been stuck here since Soulja Boy,” he said to Interview Magazine. “Before, everybody looked 35 and up. When Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and T.I and Jeezy and [Rick} Ross was on, they looked old. Like, we had Lil Bow Wow and that was it.”

T.I Jabs VH1 for ‘The Family Hustle’ Cancellation, ‘No loyalty. No Integrity.’

Atlanta rapper T.I. has successfully transitioned from music to reality TV like many stars. But it appears like that’s now turned sour.

T.I. Denies It All

T.I. had a rough past few years in the media. The Whatever You Like artist firstly began receiving allegations of sexual assault at the top of 2021.

Former family friend Sabrina Peterson kicked off the accusations, first claiming T.I. held a gun to her head during an argument. She then followed this up with screenshots of her DM’s filled with women coming forward about being drugged and assaulted by both T.I. and his wife Tiny. Of course, the famous couple vehemently denied the accusations and immediately began defending themselves on social media.

“Whatever we ever have done, has been done with consensual adults who into what we into and like what we like,” T.I. explained in an Instagram video. “If we want something, we know exactly where to go get it. We’ve never forced anybody, we’ve never drugged anybody against their will, we’ve never held anybody against their will. We’ve never made anybody do anything. We never sexually trafficked anything.”

Despite the desperate pleas of innocence, VH1 wasn’t willing to take chances. In February 2021, the network suspended the production of T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle and took them off the air. Currently, the reality program is still off VH1’s roster. T.I., real name Clifford Harris, isn’t happy about the seemingly permanent cancellation. He hopped on Instagram this past weekend (June 18) to air out these grievances.

One Less Check In the Mail

“@vh1 13 years no loyalty. No Integrity. Just jumped to conclusions. False accusations. No apology.. no accountability,” he typed. “No closure. In the name of protecting women…while unfairly, without due process….Subsequently punishing Women??? No problem.”

A post shared by TIP (@troubleman31)

Above that caption is a meme that reads: “I wish TI Family Hustle still came on,” featuring a portion of Fuck Em by T.I. and Lil Jon booming in the background. The show has been running for over a decade now. The Family Hustle initially started off as a big success for VH1. The premiere episode drew in a crowd of 4.3 million viewers back in 2011. The second episode topped that figure, proving his family as a rating magnet. So what changed?

In the age of #MeToo, cable networks clearly aren’t willing to take any chances with its stars. An MTV representative released a statement last year fully explaining their stance. “We are aware of the allegations, and while they are not connected to our show, we have reached out to T.I. and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials,” they confirmed. “Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have decided to suspend production in order to gather more information.”

10 Years Too Late

Since that statement, there have been significant developments in the case. In March last year, New York attorney Tyrone Blackburn held a press conference in which he revealed over 30 women had contacted him for legal representation against T.I. and Tiny. According to Blackburn, the “forced drugging, kidnapping, rape and intimidation” took place in Los Angeles, Georgia and Florida over the span of 15 years. Similar to the initial accusations, the famous couple denied these crimes once again. This apparently didn’t deter authorities from digging deeper.

An official investigation was opened by the LAPD in May last year. Explicit details of the investigation have yet to be revealed, but we do know that it was spurred by a woman who told authorities she was assaulted by the couple in 2005. Although this didn’t bode well for the Harris’s, ultimately they won’t be criminally charged. Since the crime lands outside of a 10-year time span, statute of limitations prevents any further legal actions.

While T.I. and Tiny don’t have to fear jail time, the sexual assault accusations have certainly stained their reputation. As the situation becomes further in the past, cable stations are determined to play it safe and keep this Atlanta man canceled.

In other words, the Sheriff’s department should be thanking his mother.  Jones agreed to turn himself in and had deputies apprehend him near Southern Regional Medical Center in Clayton County.  Therefore, his charges include home invasion, felony murder, battery, and aggravated assault. Drumma Boy is ready to drop a new album!

The Grammy-winning producer has worked with Jeezy, T.I., and Gucci Mane, just to name a few. If you have ever heard “Listen to this track b***h!” before a song, you’ve listened to Drumma Boy.

The Memphis-born composer also just released the video to “I Said What I Said” with Ludacris and Snow Tha Product.

Drumma Boy’s upcoming album is titled “Drumma Boy & Friends.” So far, the featured artists are Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Young Dolph, Twista, Tink, and Desiigner. It is set to be released in August.

It was the lead single off Jeezy’s “The Recession” album and was number one on the rap charts. Drumma Boy says that “Put On” was like a street anthem because of Jeezy’s sound and the way the music helped people make it through the recession that was really going on.

He wanted the beat to change how you felt inside, giving listeners a mix of triumph and toughness. Drumma executed this perfectly and carried this momentum to his future hits!

TI and Jeezy Want To End Feud With Gucci

Trap music icons could be ending a long-standing feud finally. Atlanta rappers TI and Jeezy want to end feud with fellow legend Gucci Mane. During an episode of TI’s “ExpediTIously” podcast, the two discuss ending beef with the “Richer Than Errybody” rapper. Here is a clip from the convo:

https://twitter.com/ComplexAmbition/status/1288170737187139584?s=20

In the conversation, TI asks Jeezy what does he think is necessary for the move to happen and says it would be a really big move for trap music. Jeezy replied, “I just feel like that gotta be one of those Mafia backroom conversations.”

T.I. at Puma event

The Urban Legend MC explains that he has always been willing to set differences aside and insists he speaks from the place of logic. He also stated that he couldn’t leave Gucci out of the Trap Museum. There is a mutual respect there.

Gucci Mane

The Icy relationship between Jeezy and Gucci began in 2005 after that song was slated to appear on on Jeezy’s debut album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Instead, it appeared on Gucci’s underground classic Trap House and also Jeezy claimed he was never paid for the hit record. The Sno Man later takes shots at Guwop on the song Stay Strapped prompting Gucci to diss him on a couple of songs, like 745.

Jeezy and Gucci Mane

The two trap legends called a brief truce in 2009 but then the beef was rekindled after members their respective crews had an altercation. The relationship has been contentious ever since and just as TI stated earlier, the reconciliation between the three would be huge for trap music, for Atlanta, and also for hip-hop. Peace to Jeezy and TI for having the discussion.

5 Verzuz Battles We Need To See

Prez Tells Us The 5 Verzuz Battles We Need ASAP!

We absolutely love the Verzuz battles. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland started something majestic.  Everyone seems to be throwing out names to see who should battle who. So we came out with 5 battles that would be amazing. We had to reach deep into the playlist catalogs for this one.

1. French Montana VS. Wiz Khalifa

Photo via Instagram: @wizkhalifa

Lets start with 2 guys who always have a record in circulation. Wiz gave us the Pittsburgh anthem, Black and Yellow, made us all cry with Charlie Puth on See You Again, and got us buying edibles and vapes with Travis Scott on Bake Sale. French had us riding on East Tremont on  Ain’t Worried Bout Nothin, has a strip club posse cut with Pop That, songs with Drake such as No Stylist and hit with Swae Lee on Unforgettable. Neither one is known for the classic album, but got records to make for an entertaining battle.

Photo via Instagram: @frenchmontana

2. Asap Ferg VS. Big Sean

Photo via Instagram: @AsapFerg

Two of the most underrated rappers today would make a Verzuz battle. Asap Ferg is one of the most energetic artists of his generation and Big Sean never gets the credit he deserves for how dope he is. They worked with each other on Ferg’s  World is Mine. I would be interested to see what the song placement would be in this battle. That would be the key to victory. Ferg got heavy hitters such as New Level and Work Remix, but Big Sean could counter with Blessings and Marvin & Chardonnay. Swizz and Timbo got to set this one up.

Photo via Instagram: @BigSean

3. T.I. VS. Rick Ross

Photo via Instagram: @richforever

T.I. vs. 50 Cent is cool, but putting him against Rick Ross is better. This is for the true crown as King of The South. T.I. gave us countless hits and amazing albums such as King, Urban Legend, and Trap Muzik in the 2000s. As T.I. started to get into other ventures, Rick Ross ascended. His first 3 albums are good but 2010’s Teflon Don is where he took off and gave us iconic verses and one of the deepest rap catalogs ever. This battle might need 35 songs instead of 20.

Photo via Instagram: @troubleman31

4. Wale VS. J.Cole

Photo via Instagram: @realcoleworld

This one pits one of the most misunderstood artists ever(Wale) against one of the most toxic fan bases ever( J. Cole). The two artists are “friends”, this battle could ease the tensions social media believe they have. Plus this battle is closer than what people think. J Cole might have classics such as Friday Night Lights and 2014 Forest Hills Drive, but Wale can counter with The Album About Nothing, Summer on Sunset, and Ambition. Depending on the song placement, Wale could pull out the “upset”.

Photo via Instagram: @wale

5. Missy Elliot VS. Busta Rhymes

Photo via Instagram: @missymisdemeanorelliott

We ending with 2 legends. The battle of the multi-million dollar video budgets. We need to get Missy vs Busta asap. This not for the kids, this is a nostalgic trip for those who miss the 90s. Busta’s 20 is going to be tough to beat with songs such as Dangerous, Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See, Break Ya Neck and features such as Scenario, Ante Up (Remix) and Flava in Your Ear(Remix). Missy’s catalog stacks up well too. She has songs with Aaliyah, hits such as Get Ur Freak On, One Minute Man, and Work ItThis Verzuz Battle would be more of a celebration of icons. Everyone loves Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes, so them giving us 2 hours of hits and history would be beautiful.
