Slim Jxmmi, one-half of Rae Sremmurd, commented on his new passion for boxing with TMZ over the weekend. When asked about which celebrities he’d want to have the chance to spare with, he gave a few different names including Lil Uzi Vert, Soulja Boy & Jake Paul. This is all coming after being arrested for battery against his ex-girlfriend back in January this year. According to Jxmmi, he uses boxing as a coping mechanism & way to steer his life around since that incident. In his own words, “Since I just turned 30, I want to get my life together and be done with the stupid shit, and I just want to set an example for my kids so this is me taking a step towards that direction.” Check out the full TMZ clip below:

How Jxmmi Matches Up With The Names Listed

One of the names Jxmmi listed was Philadelphia-icon Lil Uzi Vert. He believes a matchup with anyone in his weight class, including Uzi, would make for a good fight, “Anybody in my weight class, if you in the 130 to 140 weight class, training in boxing. You want to get out there, let’s get out there.” The 30-year old Rae Sremmurd rapper also mentions Soulja Boy (and Jake Paul) when answering the initial question, “I want to be on Jake Paul’s card, Soulja Boy Tell Em. I’m telling him to get in the ring because he already called me out before we need that. That’s good for the culture.” While Soulja seems more reasonable, Jake Paul may be too far out of his league right now
