“My big Wave is [one] years old today, I love you big man!!” the post’s caption read. The Atlanta rapper’s post also included two recent photos of Wave enjoying himself on what appears to be a private plane. DJ Khaled, who has collaborated with Cardi B and Offset, celebrated Wave’s birthday in the comments, writing “God Did”. The comment is a reference to the producer’s latest album of the same name.

Offset also posted a photo of himself and his son taken during a shopping trip on Instagram. In the picture, Offset can be seen fixing the baby’s hat while Wave happily sits in the stroller.

Meanwhile, Cardi B took to her Instagram story on Saturday, showing a sweet picture of Wave making a funny face. “Happy 1st birthday Wave,” Cardi’s caption read. The “Bodak Yellow” artist also shared side-by-side photos of Offset and their son making serious facial expressions. “He got his daddies mean mug lol,” she added.

Cardi B and Offset discuss their family

Wave, born last September, is Cardi and Offset’s second child together. His older sister Kulture is four years old. Offset is also the father to three children from past relationships. In an interview with Essence in April, Offset and Cardi discussed their blended family.

“It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together, and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” the “Clout” artist said. “It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that and that’s beautiful.”

Cardi offered her own insight on the family’s dynamic.

“I feel like sometimes people who go into a relationship with a man or a woman who has kids with negativity- and I feel like people should embrace it and love it,” the 29-year old stated. “I love our family and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Drake Becomes Most Shazamed Artist Of All Time

Drake can now add the title of most Shazamed artist to his growing list of accomplishments. According to Apple, the Canadian rapper reached the milestone with over 350 million Shazams, including songs he’s featured on. His hit 2016 single “One Dance” is his most Shazamed song with 17 million Shazams.

Shazam launched in the UK in August 2002. The music-discovery app allows people to identify songs by texting 2580 and allowing the song to play. The app would then send a text with the song title and the artist behind it.

History Of Shazam Milestones

To celebrate the service’s 20th anniversary, Shazam released a list of major milestones from the past two decades. Among the stats listed is the one naming Drizzy the artist with the most Shazams.

According to the list, Shazam has reached 70 billion song recognitions to date. The first song to ever be Shazamed was T-Rex’s “Jeepster” in 2002. Also, K-pop stars BTS have the fastest ever Shazamed song with the track reaching one million in 9 days. The most Shazamed song belongs to Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” with 41 million.

Though Drake is now the most Shazamed artist, there are two Shazam records he doesn’t own. His mentor Lil Wayne was the first artist to hit both one million and 10 million Shazams. Wayne reached these marks in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Drake also doesn’t have the most Shazamed hip-hop song of all time, either. Instead, that honor goes to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ single “Can’t Hold Us” with Ray Dalton.

Drake’s Success Outside Of Shazam

The 6 God’s success from streaming has also reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After “One Dance” became his first No. 1 record, Drake has established himself as one of the most consistent hitmakers in the chart’s history.

Drizzy’s most recent feature came with DJ Khaled’s “Staying Alive,” also featuring Lil Baby. The track debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Drake 30 for his career. Per Billboard, the new milestone broke a 55 year old record set by The Beatles for most Top 5 hits.

Khaled and Hov have collaborated many times through the years, including “We Got The Keys,”, “They Don’t Love You No More” and “Sorry Not Sorry”.

DJ Khaled’s session with Jay-Z is one of many teases the mogul has given fans over the last few months. He revealed the title of the project, God Did, on July 6. Shortly after, the New Orleans native flooded social media with pictures of Drake in the studio, along with a clip of Khaled’s rise to fame. No release date for the album has been announced.

DJ Khaled markets his album

According to the release announcing the album, “God Did” has become a personal mantra for DJ Khaled. The release also featured other artists and celebrities using the phrase, including Future, Lil Baby and LeBron James.

“I made this album for all the believers and non believers. They didn’t believe in us…do you?,” the caption read. Khaled also posted a video montage of scenes from the studio while recording the album. The marketing gives the hint that the album is going for a gospel angle.

Dj Khaled’s 2021 album, KHALED KHALED, earned the rapper his third No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. The project also managed to reach No. 1 on the Rap Albums chart, the sixth time a Khaled album has done so.

In April, the Bahamian artist celebrated getting his Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The ceremony included guests such as Jay-Z, Diddy, and Teyana Taylor.

Fat Joe Defends Comments About DJ Khaled

Fans Were Not Happy When Fat Joe Compared DJ Khaled to the Great Quincy Jones

This past weekend, Fat Joe went on the Drink Champs podcast to discuss “The Fat Joe Show,” among other things. In the podcast, he speaks on DJ Khaled’s success in working with many high-level celebrities. “Well, he just gets a bunch of big-time rappers and puts them on the same song. There’s a million DJs and producers that try that, and those ain’t hit records,” said Joe on the Drink Champs podcast. “… So DJ Khaled really is the Quincy Jones of hip-hop right now.”

DJ Khaled

Fans were quick to respond to this claim, arguing the validity of the comparison. Fans were not susceptible to the idea that DJ Khaled could compare to the many accomplishments of Quincy.

“Khaled is more like the ‘corner store owner in the hood’ of hip hop…”

– Harry Knucklez ♌ (@Harry_Knucklez) 5/14/2021

Fat Joe was quick to respond to the fan backlash. He responded with “All these back seat drivers Monday morning quarterbacks always got an opinion but can’t do it themselves sh*t crazy.” Since his relationship with Khaled is strong, it is clear that Fat Joe does not have much regard for the fan response, and stands by his opinions. Joe claimed that Quincy was just a reference to the work Khaled has released, rather than a side-by-side comparison of achievements.

Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones has a long history of playing, writing, composing, award-winning, and more. Because of this, it is clear to see why the DJ Khaled comparison is off to many people. Twitter users listed out many different artists and producers from this generation that would be better comparisons to the great Quincy Jones. These included Kanye, RZA, Skateboard P, and more. DJ Khaled has reached great success in the field and has many accomplishments. Despite this, it is clear that his accomplishments just don’t stack up next to Quincy.

#CherryJuice: DJ Khaled Shades Tyler The Creator Over #1 Spot

Salt Man Cometh: DJ Khaled says He is in the Music Biz, Not the Bundle Biz

Anyone smell salt. The first week sales of Khaled and Tyler The Creator has the DJ fuming and salty. Khaled was livid over Tyler’s Igor beating his Father of Asahd. He even posted a rant on social media, not a Prez’s Keeping It Blunt or Brick’s In My Opinion rant. Khaled was more salty than the Dead Sea. The irony of it all is both artists are signed under Sony Music. Instead of celebrating two artists topping the charts, executives have been chewed out by Khaled.

DJ Khaled vs. Billboard

Khaled is planning to hit Billboard with a huge lawsuit. He claims that Billboard allegedly disqualified 100,000 sales unfairly. That action robbed Father of Asahd of the #1 spot on the charts. Khaled’s album came with a bundle deal with an energy drink. Tyler’s album had 4 bundle deals and was credited with those sales. Father of Asahd cost about $5 Million to market and record. The guest appearances such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Post Malone and many more aren’t cheap. Having that blockbuster lineup and not securing the #1 spot is equal to a big budget movie flopping.

Final Points on DJ Khaled

Sometimes an indie film will beat out a major movie studio’s creation in the box office. Tyler the Creator has a huge cult following and got rave reviews from critics, fans, and naysayers. He also wrote, produced and organized everything on his album. DJ Khaled had a super team of artists and producers on his album. The biggest thing about his catalog is 2 or 3 songs will stick with you and that is about it. No disrespect to him, but I never heard someone speak on a classic Khaled album. He needs those #1 spots in the charts and views for the videos for endorsements and contract negotiations. Today, Khaled should chill take some time off and hit us with another project in 2 years.

DJ Khaled has 11 Albums in 13 years!!

Khaled has been busy. Most think he just a guy yelling on records, but he has given us hits, iconic verses, and dream collaborations. It all started in 2006( Listennn… the Album) with “Holla at Me” featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, and Pitbull. A year later, Lil Wayne would have the verse of the on We Takin’ Over. In 2010, All I Do is Win was played at every sports venue( still is). Next year, we got I’m on One with Lil Wayne, Drake and Rick Ross.  After that Khaled had the summertime crown. Good, bad, or indifferent we know a project is coming in the summer from him and we should thank him for it.
