Kanye’s Donda Basketball Team Kicked Out of Morehouse Basketball Tournament

Ye formally known as Kanye West, has gotten his Donda Academy Basketball Team kicked out of Morehouse College basketball tournament this coming weekend. The college cancelled the event all together amidst the recent controversy surrounding Ye’s remarks in an interview.

Morehouse Decision

Morehouse college’s decision was fueled by Ye‘s remarks toward the Jewish community which demonstrated antisemitism. The college is mainly concerned with the image Ye’s reputation portray in any way shape or form. The players had no impact on the decision itself, but the problem at hand is their affiliation to a certain likeness or behavior thereof. A lot of people including that are a part of the Morehouse community are calling out the school’s decision. This is due to the school depriving the players opportunities to showcase their talent without regard for that purpose. Such comments by people reads:

“Ya should feel sorry about ya selves. Bending over to the evils. God don’t like ugly.”

“I am saddened that you took this stance. Those young Black men did nothing wrong. This poses a bigger question, who do you answer to?”

“U guys are disgusting! How u penalize the kids? That makes y’all worse than him … smh”

The comments and famous people who have also commented expressed their dislike of the decision. They agree that Ye’s comments were insensitive and unproductive, but they do not agree with the children’s talents being kept from display.

Aftermath of Ye’s Comments

Ye’s ties with another basketball tournament, Adidas, TJ Maxx, and a few other entities have parted ways from him. His comments outside of antisemitism talked about siding with a Republican view and the questioning of George Floyds death. These comments via interview put a lot of pressure on companies and people to cancel him. They don’t want to compromise their brand’s image and message to the public. Ye since then has doubled down on his comments and accepted his fate financially.

CNN’s Sources Say Ye Was Fascinated By Adolf Hitler For Years

Ye’s downfall has been very public. And it’s only getting worse. In addition to big-name companies cutting ties with the Chicago rapper, several people once close to Ye told CNN West admired the notorious German dictator, Adolf Hitler. Not only that, but allegedly, the rapper wanted to name an album after him. One executive, who has resigned and asked to remain anonymous, talked about his toxic work environment.

Ye would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people.

According to podcaster Van Lathan, Kanye West expressed similar views behind the scenes at TMZ. Ye apparently showed his admiration for the Third Reich during an interview, but it was cut out. “He said something like, ‘I love Hitler; I love Nazis.’ Something to that effect when he was there. And they took it out of the interview for whatever reason. It wasn’t my decision.”

Ye’s Antics Cause More Discourse In The Black Community

Many perspectives come from within the community. The overwhelming majority appear to condemn Ye, but a more nuanced conversation is being had.

Moreover, people question why these corporations didn’t cut ties with Ye sooner. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this.

Some people also defend the rapper, saying his anti-Semitism is an elaborate scheme to get out of business contracts. Others consider West’s mental illness as if it’s the reason for the artist to support Nazi Germany.

https://twitter.com/tnotca/status/1584654626506170368

Regardless of what the actual straw that broke the camel’s back was, Ye was burning bridges for a while. For years, prominent people in the Black community have been calling this man out for his misogyny, abuse, labor issues, and racism. Jewish leaders also speak up about West’s behavior and explain why his rhetoric harms the community.

Nick Cannon and Jay-Z came under fire recently for expressing or cosigning the idea that Jewish people “own the media” and faced criticism.

However, they didn’t express admiration for Hitler. Jay-Z explained his use of the trope was an intentional exaggeration taken out of context. Cannon met with Jewish leaders and apologized. West’s case is different, and it’s seemingly too late for him to mend the error of his ways.

Resellers Expect Big Returns On Yeezy Brand After Controversy

Following the immense backlash from anti-Semitic tweets and interviews, individuals and businesses began to cut ties with Ye. Significant brands like Adidas, Spotify, and former collaborators, took to social media to denounce the rapper and producer.

50 Cent gave an interview in which he declared that Ye’s career is “a wrap.” His indication that Ye’s career is over rings slightly petty. Some may recall their short beef from 2007 over which artist’s album was able to sell more.

Even still, his comments highlight the belief that many feel Kanye’s once prosperous career is headed. Detractors view this controversy as the one that will end Ye’s time in the limelight.

Ye’s Abandonment

However, the business deals are more damaging than shots from other contemporaries, directly affecting Ye’s bottom dollar. Thankfully for Kanye, the Spotify CEO, Daniel Ek, stopped short of cutting ties with the rapper. Despite harsh condemnations about the comments, Ek confirmed Ye’s music would be available for streaming.

Likewise, Adidas, partners with Ye on his Yeezy line of products, announced the termination of their contract. The announcement came on October 25th, after mounting pressure by detractors for the company to cut ties with Ye and condemn the tweets. Adidas acted on both counts.

Recipe For Collector Items

The sudden termination of the contract pleased some, while others viewed it as a beautiful business opportunity. Ye always benefitted from a devoted fanbase, which still proved true. As a result, many online resellers are expecting big profits from Yeezy products. Now that Yeezy branded items will no longer remain in production it is expected they will gain a collector’s item status. Large online resellers are hoping to bank on this outcome in hopes of huge gains.

A similar event befell Kobe shoes after Nike and Bryant’s widow could not agree on a new deal. The result was a cease in production leading to high prices for Kobe’s on the aftermarket. With the rapid termination of the Yeezy deal coupled with Kanye’s still ravenous fanbase it certainly seems like a solid bet.

It remains to be seen if such a trend will truly come about. However, history shows that in cases such as this Yeezy products may soon fetch huge prices on the aftermarket. Perhaps owners should be on the lookout for potential profit off of their old Yeezys just in case.

50 Cent Thinks Kanye West Should Be Quiet

50 Cent gives Kanye West some advice. He tells him to just stop talking. He has never seen anything like this before.

50 Cent shared on Instagram a CNN Report talking about Ye’s fascination with Hitler. He has since deleted the post. According to the report, a former executive who used to work with West had an obsession with Hitler. He even wanted to name his 2018 album after the Nazi leader. In cut-out segments of interviews, he talked about how much he liked Hitler and the Nazis.

In the caption, Fiddy says that West should just accept that his career is over. There is no coming back from this. Most people would pull back and do damage control when they first get canceled. Ye is not doing any of that and is instead charging ahead.

Ye created a meme

Kanye West’s ban on Instagram is over, and he starts a new meme. He posts a fake news article that says Ye is cutting ties with Kanye West. He is trying to say that his music will now be divorced from his personal life and values. However, that is literally impossible. Every idea is flavored by the background and beliefs that come from the source. Even when one tries to be neutral, prejudice sneaks into the work. Nothing comes into being without a source and thus prejudices.

Several other artists, including 50 Cent, N.O.R.E., and even Young Thug in prison, know that this is impossible and are mocking West. They are all claiming that their stage names are cutting ties with their personal selves.

Jeezy Credits Nas For Solving His Past Beefs

I bet you didn’t know Jeezy had a little beef with Nas years ago.  After Nas proclaimed “Hip Hop Is Dead” in 2006, people thought the Queens rapper took a shot at the rappers in the South.

At that time, the South started to run the game with artists like T.I., Jeezy, and Ludacris.  Jeezy didn’t take too kindly to Nas’s song.  He went on the radio after that responding with rage.  Shortly, after that Nas called Jeezy on the phone to explain to him what he meant.  Jeezy was already prepared to go to war with Nas.  But, according to Jeezy, Nas was calm, cool, and collected on the phone.  He also assured that his song had nothing to do with the Snowman.  Jeezy always remembered this.

Jeezy Thanks Nas

He was so inspired by Nas’s demeanor that he decided to take the same route in his other beefs.  The Atlanta rapper has had known beef with Rick Ross and Freddie Gibbs.  Ultimately, both of those beefs were squashed.  Jeezy actually signed Freddie Gibbs to his CTE Label in 2011.  Shortly, thereafter in 2012, Gibbs decided to leave the label.  He and Jeezy weren’t seeing eye to eye which led to the two dissing each other.  Gibbs dissed his former boss on “Real” and Jeezy retaliated on “Therapy For My Soul”.  After patching things up, Jeezy chalks up his beefs up to bad communication.

The Shop: Uninterrupted

Going forward, he promises to communicate better.  Jeezy has been busy lately after dropping his Gangsta Grillz mixtape, Snowfall, with DJ Drama.  Good thing these two were able to end their beef as well.  The Atlanta legend also made an appearance on The Shop: Uninterrupted, but the episode will never air.  Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was on the episode as well, and his speech wasn’t safe for television.  The Shop is co-hosted by Maverick Carter and LeBron James.  Carter made remarks stating that Ye’s problematic speech led to the production company canceling the episode.  Jeezy may be back on The Shop soon with another black billionaire.

Adidas Leaves Kanye West Contract

Fashion giant Adidas reveals it has terminated its contract with Kanye West after his recent anti-Semitic actions. This action is expected to lose $250 million in profit for Adidas. Despite this loss they are still going forward with the move.

A partnership comes to an end

Kanye West has been partnering with Adidas since 2015. He was once partnered with Nike, but he left the brand after they would not give him royalties despite the increased attention his shoe brought the sportswear company. According to their deal Adidas let him keep 100% of the brand and full creative control of the shoe until the product was released. However the shoe is ultimately owned by Adidas.

Adidas terminated the contract after weeks of pressure from human rights activists. The German based company claimed it has a zero-tolerance policy towards anti-semitism. They will no longer pay royalties to Ye and can no longer use the name Yeezy. They are stopping all production immediately. However, Adidas still owns all of the design rights. Both the existing products and all of the past and current colorways.

It is currently unknown what Ye is going to do with the Yeezy brand. There is something that we do know, however. As he currently is, it will be hard to find a distributor that will be willing to work with him.

Ye is going off of the deep end recently, however this may be just the kick he needed to get off of the anti-semitic White Lives Matter route that he is going. This is not the first company that has cut ties with him over this, and it will not be the last. So far, he has lost his talent agency CAA, the French fashion label Balenciaga, Gap Inc., and MRC, a studio that had to scrap a completed documentary on him.

Kanye West Claims George Floyd Died From Fentanyl

Over the weekend, Kanye West claims that George Floyd did not die from the police officer kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes, but rather from fentanyl, the deadly painkiller. He is serious.

If you had been living under a rock for the last two years, George Floyd’s death is the straw that broke the camel’s back, which led to the Black Lives Matter movement. Kanye West claims that the movement is a scam. He did have both fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system. However, it was proven that it wasn’t enough to be fatal. His breathing did not slow down enough for the fentanyl to be a factor in his death.

Kanye West claimed the conspiracy theory in the Drink Champs interview that was posted over the weekend. He cites the documentary “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM” as the source. The documentary is from his friend and rightwing commentator, Candace Owens. West saw the documentary at its premiere last week, in Nashville, Tennessee. He went with Ray J, Kid Rock, and others.

https://youtu.be/-ZmbP5vIbyk?t=912

People are not happy with West and are trying to quiet him before he makes more of a fool of himself. Both Boosie Badazz, who had commented on the previous racist remarks that West has made, and Stephen Jackson, former NBA player, and friend of George Floyd, had commented on this. Badazz made several passionate tweets telling West off. Jackson made an Instagram post just calling him sad.

West’s Other Conspiracy Theory

This was not the only conspiracy theory that he shared in the interview. He also claimed that Virgil Abloh was murdered by his boss, Bernard Arnault. The only evidence that he provides is just that Louis Vuitton, the company where he worked as an artistic director, is making statues of him “like, as a martyr”. The statues are to commemorate their first African American artistic director.

Elon Musk Concerned With Ye’s Latest Tweets

Few public figures capture America’s attention more than Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Elon Musk. Over the past several months the media has been filled with news concerning the activities of both men. Musk and Ye have gained both ardent supporters and detractors while ensuring everyone talked about their latest exploits. Most recently, Ye found himself at the center of attention after wearing a shirt that read, “WHITE LIVES MATTER” on the back. Following this, he gave an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson during which he defended his choice to wear the shirt. Ye gained more negative media coverage since then for several Instagram posts and the release of a controversial short film. However, Ye is not done yet.

Ye’s Latest Controversies

Ye made several comments that many considered anti-Semitic. Examples included his interview with Carlson wherein Ye made brief allegations that the Abraham Accords, negotiated by former senior advisor to President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, was done for Kushner’s own profit. Kushner is Jewish, and critics of Ye’s comment argued his position continued the old anti-semitic trope of Jewish people engineering world events to benefit themselves.

Disturbing Twitter Usage

Ye also made various social media posts spreading anti-Semitic beliefs. One Instagram post featured Ye’s text exchanges with famed rapper and mogul Diddy. During these conversations, Ye said to Diddy, “This ain’t a game…Imma use you [Diddy] as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this is war.” Kanye’s use of anti-Semitic rhetoric has resulted in his Instagram account being restricted. Following this, Ye proved he could not be influenced for better or worse. Ye took to Twitter to express his ideas.

Twitter Drama

First, the rapper posted an old photo of himself and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The short tweet questioned how Zuckerberg could remove West from his platform. Meta owns Instagram. Ye appeared to take personal offense. Zuckerberg is also Jewish, which possibly relates to Ye’s ire.

Elon Musk responded to the tweet by welcoming Ye back to Twitter after the rapper’s hiatus from the platform. Ye then released a bizarre, now deleted, tweet about his desire to “go death con 3 on Jewish people”, with the failed reference to DEFCON 3 implying a maelstrom of antisemitism. However, in an odd turn, Ye decided to wait until he awoke from a nap before doing so. He also added in the tweet that he could not hold anti-Semitic beliefs. In support of this, Ye cited ideas that align with noted anti-Semitic groups like the Black Hebrew Israelites, many chapters of which are viewed as hate groups by the ADL and SPLC. Following this, Ye released another tweet implying Jews as the group responsible for creating cancel culture.

Following this, Ye’s account was then restricted by Twitter. The rapper himself was unable to tweet anything afterward. Such a high-profile incident was sure to catch the attention of Musk. Musk himself saw quite a lot of controversy following his decision to purchase Twitter and his subsequent indecisiveness about the deal. Currently, Elon Musk is preparing to follow through with the agreement. As such, he takes a vested interest in the company’s happenings.

Musk tweeted that he had reached out to Ye, expressing concerns over the rapper’s recent behavior. Musk’s tweet read, “Talked to ye today & expressed my concerns about his recent tweet, which I think he took to heart.”

The Takeaway

As of writing, this is where things stand. Kanye remains locked out of Twitter; he hasn’t responded publicly to Musk’s comments. It remains to be seen if Ye is true to his word about being unable to be influenced. Kanye is no stranger to controversy, but his recent remarks leave reasons for concern. Ye frequently finds himself in hot water; however, he has apologized in the distant and recent past when he feels he has truly done wrong. Perhaps Musk’s words will affect him, and Ye can put this behavior squarely in his past. Ye’s fans certainly hope he does so.

Kanye West Talks Politics, Family With Fox News

Kanye West sat down with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Thursday to discuss his latest controversies. During the live interview, the Chicago rapper spoke on everything from his political beliefs to his relationship with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

The 45-year old also addressed his pro-life beliefs, wearing a lanyard with a photograph of an ultrasound. “It just represents life. I’m pro-life,” Ye said. “I don’t care about people’s responses, but I care about the fact that there are more Black babies being aborted than born in New York City at this point.”

Kanye West also spoke to Fox on his relationship with former president Donald Trump. “My so-called friends/handlers around me told me if I said that I liked Trump that my career would be over. That my life would be over. They said stuff like people get killed for wearing a hat like that.” The mogul then alleged that his life was “threatened” over his political beliefs.

Kanye West’s controversy

Earlier this week, Ye made headlines for featuring a tee with the controversial slogan “White Lives Matter” in his Yeezy Season 9 collection. Since then, he has faced criticism from around the fashion world, including figures such as Gigi Hadid and Jaden Smith. He has also received backlash for his treatment of Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.

The issue has also affected Kanye’s wallet. On Thursday, his longtime distribution partner Adidas issued a statement saying that despite efforts to resolve the situation, their business partnership with Ye was “under review”.

West didn’t hold back when it came to his estranged ex-wife Kim Kardashian. He spoke on her social beliefs during the interview. “Kim is Christian, but she has people who want her to go to Interview magazine and put her a** out,” the Louis Vuitton Don said. “She’s a 40 year old woman with four Black children. This is how fashion treats you.”

Ye Flaunts “White Lives Matter” Shirt And Responds To Critics

Ye’s list of racial controversies continues to grow, this time during Paris Fashion Week. During his Season 9 YEEZY Show, The “BLKKK SKKKN HEAD” rapper and Black conservative provocateur Candace Owens appeared together. Both wore tees that read “White Lives Matter.”

Before the show kicked off, Ye told viewers, “Everyone here knows…I am the leader…you can’t manage me. This is an unmanageable situation.”

Ye then alluded to his wife’s traumatic 2016 robbery, the beef with The Gap, and controversial music manager Scooter Braun. His daughter performed in the show with an accompanying children’s choir.

West’s Response To The “White Lives Matter” Shirt Backlash

Fans and critics caught wind of the controversial display and gave their opinions via social media. Ye responded via Instagram.

On Monday, he said, “Here’s my latest response when people ask me why I made a tee that says white lives matter… THEY DO.” And, of course, this didn’t stop the criticism.

https://twitter.com/xXNate704Xx/status/1577043757576335360

A Brief History Of Sketchy Statements And Actions

Some may be shocked, but this aligns with Ye’s other race-related controversies. Four years ago, he implied slavery was a choice. And though he attempted to clear it up, the artist eventually only worsened things. Over the years, the rapper has openly endorsed Donald Trump, married into a family notorious for cultural appropriation, and slut-shamed his ex, Amber Rose. Kanye has also burned bridges with the Obamas, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Kid Cudi.

In the last year, Ye also faced much backlash for publically harassing ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson. While Ye will always have fans considering his musical prowess, the rapper also makes permanent enemies. This likely won’t affect his riches or fame, but based on the reaction to his antics, it’s becoming harder and harder for fans to defend him.
