On Monday morning, Kanye West shared via his Instagram account that ten of his albums are currently ranking on the top albums charts on Spotify in the United States. This does not include his newly released album, Donda 2, which will not be released on the platform.
Announcing Charts Achievements
Moreover, West left his post with a simple black heart emoji as a caption, leaving the numbers to speak for themselves. Furthermore, the “Flashing Lights” rapper announced earlier this month that the follow-up to 2021’s Donda would only be available on the Stem Player.
“Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player,” the rapper wrote on Instagram. “Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”
How did Kanye Become The “No. 1 Streamed Spotify Artist?”
In addition, Act One of the jeen-yuhs documentary focused a great deal on his incredible early career as a musician prior to the release of his debut album, The College Dropout. Furthermore, the journey he underwent, including shopping the demo versions of tracks that would later become worldwide hits, is impressive. “All Falls Down” is a big part of the first step. However, Ye played that song at Roc-A-Fella Records but no one showed interest. Therefore, it was that sight that awakened a new appreciation for the classic Kanye West cut. Most importantly, helping to drive streaming numbers of the song through the roof.
The second step described the promotion and release of The College Dropout. For many viewers, the most memorable moment was the creation of Jamie Foxx and Twista’s “Slow Jamz.” In contrast, as with “All Falls Down,” fans returned to The College Dropout when they realized what a young Kanye West had accomplished.
After all, Ye became the world’s number one streamed Spotify artist on back-to-back days without even releasing his album Donda 2 on the platform.
