Nelly and Ashanti shine in every aspect of their lives. Their fairytale romance and the recent addition to the family have captured the world’s attention. This has led to inexpectancies, including plans for docuseries. Deadline notes,

“Peacock has ordered a new series following the pair, and it is currently filming.”

Nelly and Ashanti: Destined to Shine

Nelly and Ashanti, both powerhouse performers, have been in the industry for years, perfecting their image and creating a lasting legacy. In the past, their romantic relationship captured the attention of many fans, who were intrigued by the potential of these two stars together. As People notes,

“The first time the two artists crossed paths was at an event for the 2003 Grammy Award nomination announcements.”

However, their love story did not unfold as many had hoped. It appeared that there would be no happy ending for these two. Publicly, they pursued their own paths and focused on their ambitions and goals.

A Fairytale Rekindled

When they reunited and confirmed their relationship, it seemed like a fairytale, a whirlwind romance everyone had held their breath to see fulfilled. The announcement of a significant milestone in their relationship was a bonus. As People goes on to cite an overjoyed Ashanti,

“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation. Motherhood is something I have looked forward to.”

Their love culminated in the conception and birth of a little bundle of joy, “KK.”.

Behind the Scenes: Nelly and Ashanti’s Docuseries

As they embark on this new chapter together, their story will be immortalized in a Docuseries. It is also reported that they are executive producers for the project, which is expected. After all, who better to tell their story than themselves? But with such public exposure come risks. There is always the possibility that things won’t last forever, and relationships take hard work to maintain.

Many couples don’t make it, becoming mere ships passing through the night or friends with a shared past. That’s why some prefer to keep certain aspects of their lives private—once something is out in the open, it can’t be removed. But the reward is immeasurable for those brave enough to share their lives with the world.

Nelly and Ashanti’s Vulnerable Yet Bold Pursuit

Hopefully, this will defy expectations. They will be one of the few couples to defy expectations. Hopefully, this venture will be something they will be proud of for years to come. Nelly and Ashanti Possibly Back On?

Rapper Nelly and singer Ashanti may have rekindled their romance, following in the footsteps of stars like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck as well as Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade. Hollywood keeps these stars very busy, so on-and-off is pretty normal for them. However, fans are really rooting for Nelly and Ashanti.

How Did It Start Again?

It all (re-) started with a questionable performance from the pair in Las Vegas. They sang and rapped along to their hit “Body On Me.” Plus shortly after that the couple were seen holding hands at the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight last month. According to PEOPLE, a source said the pair “have been touring and performing together and just hanging.” Entertainment Tonight reports they both have rekindled their relationship and are allegedly very happy.

Take Us Back To The Beginning Of Their Love

This dyamic duo was unstoppable for a decade, breaking up in 2013. The 48-year-old rapper and 42-year-old singer started dating in 2003 after meeting at a press conference. Nelly opened up in an interview a few years before they broke up explaining why he was waiting for marriage. The “Flap Your Wings” rapper explained that he is not a person that wants to get married multiple times. “If I’ma do it, I’ma do it. You’re dying if you leave me,’ added Nelly born Cornell Iral Haynes Jr.

The pair was pretty secretive about actually dating in the beginning the first time, so no surprise if we find out they are together a few years from now. Maybe second time is a charm and a ring will present itself in a few years or maybe even months…

Someone Check On Irv Gotti

Social media was going crazy when the idea of these two getting back together circulated, but people were thinking of someone else; Irv Gotti. The co-founder of Murder Inc. Records has had a lot to say about the New York singer the past year. Ashanti had to set the record straight about his allegations. Gotti was claiming that him and Ashanti were dating at some point earlier in her career. However, she firmly denied those rumors after remaining silent for a while as he spread a lot of dirty laundry.

50 Cent Trolls Irv Gotti After Nelly and Ashanti Relationship Rumors

Ashanti And Nelly have been seen together since the early 2000s. Now, some of their peers want them to make it official, including 50 Cent.

Sparks Fly

This Monday(Apr 23), 50 Cent poked fun at former Murder Inc mogul Irv Gotti amidst videos surfacing of Ashanti and Nelly getting cozy.  Unfortunately for the ‘Foolish’ singer, Gotti made headlines last year for making public statements regarding sexual relations between him and Ashanti. In an August appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, Gotti detailed how the two allegedly began sleeping together after recording her 2002 hit ‘Happy’. In addition to this, he revealed some hard feelings that arose once Ashanti began dating Nelly in 2003. Gotti then doubled down on his claims on the BET docuseries The Murder Inc Story, where Ashanti was noticeably absent.

Fast forward to the present day and Ashanti’s love life is the topic of gossip yet again. Except for this time, it involves her and her longtime friend Nelly. A video of the pair performing for the ‘Lovers & Friends’ concert in Las Vegas took over the internet this past Sunday and rumors haven’t stopped circulating since. Following this, the word only spread further once the couple showed up together at the Gervonta Davis/Ryan Garcia fight Saturday (Apr 21) night.

“HE WILL BE AIGHT I was in love wit her, and she just popped up with Nelly. LOL #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” 50 captioned the clip on Instagram. The ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper is known for being cheeky with his celebrity peers. Particularly the ones that hail from New York. 50 and members of Murder Inc like Ja Rule have kept tension on and off for decades, and that hasn’t let up in the social media era.

Shad Moss also weighed in on the alleged couple. According to him, the two should just tie the knot and get it over with. In the comment section of a Shade Room insta post showing Nelly and Ashanti arriving at the boxing match, Bow Wow left some advice for the 48 year old. “Yo mo! I know we not seeing eye to eye either really but from lil bro to big bro, STOP PLAYING AND MARRY THIS WOMAN BRO,” he typed. “You like 50 [laughing face emoji]. Sit your old ass down [laughing face emojis] this your queen.” The comment unsurprisingly garnered responses in agreement, as the two have been an item throughout their entire careers.

Currently, neither Ashanti or Nelly have spoken out about the rumors. After all, both artists are known for being extremely lowkey with their romantic affairs. One thing is for sure, there are some fellow celebs in their corner rooting for a reunion.

On August 9th of, 2022, the world got its first backstage pass into the life and struggles of Irv Gotti with the premiere of Murder Inc. The series is a documentary. But, ultimately, it is an extensive diary entry highlighting the exploits of Irving Domingo Lorenzo (Gotti).

The Irv Gotti Story

Murder Inc, the five-series documentary on BET, highlights Gotti’s history, collaborative partnerships, artists, and success and failures. However, fundamentally it is an expose on labels, label owners, and offstage access to hip hop behind the scenes. The series is three episodes in and provides an hour’s worth of behind-the-scenes insight weekly. Accordingly, Ja Rule, Jay-Z, Ashanti, and Charli Baltimore are a few of the artists highlighted. And the series lays out its content via a sequence of roll-back clips, highlights, and live commentary from Gotti and the artists themselves.

Murder Inc. An Open Book

Three of the five episodes have already aired, with the first two based on Gotti’s beginnings, vision, and early stages of success. And the first two episodes of Murder Inc. provide a consistent chronicle of the label. Conversely, the third episode, “Foolish,” takes a detour. This episode is dedicated to Gotti’s once-upon-a-time flame and artist Ashanti. Although the episode is directed as an open account from Irv’s perspective, the world isn’t exactly feeling these open pages. Some go as far as labeling this portion of the narrative sketchy and predatory.

 

Assessing the Murder Inc. Story

Even though the third episode doesn’t sit well with some overall, the documentary serves its purpose. It gives an authentic behind-the-scenes look at a label in the hip hop world and the artist impacted by the moves of those in charge. And from what is on display, a good takeaway is that a lot goes into maintaining a successful label. Gotti’s success is multifaceted, resting on his vision, ambition, and strategic mindset. Earnestly Gotti’s contribution to hip hop is undeniable. But, while a lot is worthy of recognition, not everything is laudable.

Nevertheless, whether the Murder Inc. story is or is not well received, it does the job of presenting access to the side of a story from an untold perspective. And if nothing else, the series stands as proof that there is a lot that happens beyond the spotlight. While the life of a label executive may be lucrative and satisfying, it is also consuming and a road not always paved with good intentions.

Judge Mathis Advises Ashanti to Put a Gag Order on Irv Gotti

Judge Mathis is yet another celeb who isn’t here for Irv Gotti’s kiss and tell streak. Now, he’s giving Ashanti the gag order advice to stop it.

Fat Joe and Ja Rule have recently publicly disapproved of Irv Gotti’s controversial press tour. You can add Judge Mathis to the list of Ashanti defenders after this past week.

For those not up to date, Irv Gotti has been making headlines for exposing details of a past sexual relationship with Ashanti. During an appearance on the show Drink Champs, Gotti divulged into their early 2000s affair. Amongst all the stories, he focused heavily on the song “Happy” and claimed it came into existence after the two had sex.

In another instance, Gotti spoke about his past arrest for money laundering. According to him, Ashanti “ran like a cockroach” when he went into police custody. This situation seems to cause the Murder Inc CEO’s contempt. Of course, fans across social media expressed disgust at the apparent attempts to rule up the Long Island vocalist.

Judge Mathis Steps In

TMZ caught Judge Mathis in New York this Tuesday to ask his opinion on the matter. During the brief interview, he suggested Ashanti hits Irv with a cease and desist or gag order. He follows this up by confirming Ashanti has the legal right to take action if she’s genuinely being slandered. “If she feels she’s being defamed, she should perhaps send a cease and desist,” he said. “Just send a cease and desist and hope they’ll honor that.”

In the meantime, Ashanti has remained silent on the situation. For now, at least, it looks like Irv Gotti’s tactics aren’t shaking the “Concrete Rose” singer.

Ja Rule is in the game! Recently, the rapper expressed his thoughts concerning Irv’s unrespectful comment about Ashanti on “Drink Champs”. During the interview, Gotti talked about his breakup with Ashanti and how he doesn’t express any remorse now since he had many other love affairs, better ones. Although saying this, Gotti didn’t stop talking about his relationship with the songstress.

Ja Rule made it clear that he doesn’t want to be involved in the beef between the ex-couple. In the podcast, the Murder Inc Founder claimed that her 2002 song “Happy” was recorded after the two had sexual intercourse. The latter simply wanted to react to Gotti’s gibberish and end it. Furthermore, he took the matter to Instagram and posted :

“Brotherly love… The last few days have been very turbulent for me but it’s time to land the plane,” Rule wrote. “I love my sis I love my bro but I DO NOT condone or agree with the behavior nor the way Gotti handled things on drink champs….”

Additionally, Fat Joe criticized the 52-year-old rapper, which he evidently didn’t appreciate. Later off, broke off all ties with him. Joe called his behavior disrespectful towards Ashanti. Also, Fat Joe blamed Ja Rule for not supporting the talented songstress considering the two are good pals.

They even collaborated on multiple songs, including “Mesmerize,” “Wonderful,” and so forth. Ja Rule addressed the matter further and clarified that he has a good bond with both singers and does not wish to be part of their feud. He mentioned on his Instagram story :

 “STOP saying I didn’t defend sis and all women when I clearly told Gotti to stop calling Ashanti/women the B word same way I told Joe at Verzuz watch the interview before you talk s—.”

That happened. Irv seemed not to be appreciating those comments as Joe continued:

“Gotti a sucker, man. He a sucker,” Fat Joe says. “Y’all can @ Irv Gotti, Ja, whatever the f**k you want,” he continued. “Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old, right. I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him. But when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it felt like he’s not over the young lady, right.”

Despite the chaos going on, Ashanti appeared quite not bothered by the situation as she tweeted, “Morning y’all. Sending out positive vibes and energy.” On top of that, she partnered with her ex Nelly last week to hold a show in Oakland.

Irv Gotti Recalls How Ashanti Broke His Heart.

Irv Gotti recently opened up about his relationship with Ashanti on the drink champs podcast and talked about his heartbreak when he learned the latter was having a little thing with the American Rapper Nelly.

Irv’s Confession

After nearly a decade, the American rapper revealed his past relationship with her former partner Ashanti. During the interview, I admitted he was still in love with her while she was seeing Nelly. He added :

“I could get past you want to be with Nelly. Listen, at the time, it happens, any man is hurt. The chick that you f**kin’ are in love with is with this n***a.”

The CEO of Murder Inc. Records uncovered this while he was watching the NBA match on TV. He caught this by surprise and thanked god for opening his eyes to the truth. As a matter of fact, they did deny their affair, but this doesn’t restrain Ashanti from having a liaison with Nelly. As the rapper said himself :

“Me and Ashanti never officially were together. We were chilling. It was never official like, ‘Yo, that’s my girl.’”

While dating rumors kept speculating about the ”What’s Luv” singer and Ivr in the early 2000s, the two never confirmed it publicly. Although for the media, the pairs appeared to be more than just collaborators. At some point in time, some gossip was circulating about the two planning their wedding. Their little fling began when she signed to Irv’s company, Murder Inc.Records. Gotti took it even more seriously during an interview with Hot 97’s Funk Flex once, implying that they are hooking up. Although that being said, the rapper made it clear that the 21-year-old singer wasn’t behind his split from his ex-wife. He added :

“Contrary to what anyone thinks, Ashanti had nothing to do with the demise of me and Deb; I was off the fucking hook and Deb kicked me out of the house … So now, I’m basically living in the studio, I’m still wildin’ out … and, you know”

After his divorce in 2003, Ashanti and Nelly confirmed their relationship the very same year at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards but unfortunately put an end to it in 2013. Gotti confessed that he was green with envy seeing these two stars together, so much that he prevented her from making an appearance in one of the celeb’s music videos. He added :

“They were in a video, it was that ‘Country’ video. I think he put Ciara in it, but at first, it was Ashanti in it. He called me because, you know, she’s my artist. And I was like, ‘Remove her from that fucking video, dawg. You understand?’ Which could’ve been salty on my part.”

Ashanti Originally Fought Her Team About Her Hit Song ‘Baby’

Ashanti almost missed out on having the hit song Baby on her debut album with the famous Murder Inc. label. During a recent interview with Vibe, she recalls fighting with her team about whether the record should be included on the self-titled album. “I don’t know. I felt like, I liked what I wrote, but it was a different vibe because it’s such a low register, you know, slow,” was her explanation for feeling that way at the time. The Conflict That Many Big & Small Artists Have

A lot of times we see artists dislike songs that their fans would consider their best. As a musician myself, it’s hard to not be your own worst critic. Ashanti touches on similar feelings herself in the Vibe interview when also weighing on whether the song should’ve been a single or just an album cut. After all, the lead single is typically the clearest representation of what to expect from the rest of the full release. Ashanti herself loves the record now as she stated, “I love just conceptually how I flipped it and going back and forth with the ad-libs and the verse and the metaphors. I love the record. 20th Anniversary of Debut Album Ashanti

It’s been 20 years since Ashanti dropped her famous self-titled debut album. The album spawned several other impactful songs too including Foolish, Happy & others. After receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she’s currently re-recording her debut album to receive the proper royalties that weren’t received from the Murder Inc. release. Ashanti Skips Murder Inc. Show And Talks About Why She Decided To Rerecord Her Debut Album

Ashanti skips Murder Inc. Show and will continue doing her. She made that perfectly clear in an interview recently. When asked about an upcoming docuseries on her former label her position on the matter was strong.

Ashanti Skips Murder Inc. Show And Doesn’t Seem To Care

The “Foolish” singer has made it clear that she is moving forward and not looking back. She has left Irv Gotti and Murder Inc. in the rearview. There is an upcoming “Murder Inc.” docuseries and when she was asked whether or not she would be present she laughed out loud. And so did her “momager” Tina Douglas.

In even more of an effort to close the “Murder Inc.” chapter of her career. Ashanti has decided to rerecord her self-titled debut album. She told “The Breakfast Club” that she is unapologetically rerecording it in order to collect the royalties she deserves. But that she didn’t get from her “Murder Inc.” deal. At the same time, she reassured her fans that the album’s overall vibe won’t change, but she will insert a few changes they will hopefully enjoy. “It’s not necessarily changing the vibe, but kinda just injecting something new, sonically, into it.”

Now clearly Ashanti doesn’t care what Gotti has to say. But the co-founder of her previous label is not happy with her decision. Shortly after the singer made her announcement he took to Instagram, saying that he not only produced the album, but he owns the masters. And that she is trying screw him out of his money. “It’s f***** up. But such is life.”

It looks like it’s going to be left up to the fans to decide which album is better!

Ashanti Gears Up to Release Her New Children’s Book, ‘My Name Is A Story’

The “Always On Time” singer Ashanti will be releasing a children’s book in July. My Name Is A Story is the title of her picture book. According to Ashanti the book was inspired by her childhood experiences. She faced bullying because her name was different. Over time Ashanti learned to love her name.

Her Instagram followers first got the news back in March. Ashanti posted a picture of the book on Instagram for her followers to see. She let everyone know when the book will hit bookstores. Make sure to grab a copy.

Ashanti moved the release date for My Name Is A Story forward. It goes on sale July 12. Buy the book on pre-sale and it comes with a signed bookplate from Ashanti.
