Rihanna performed at the Super Bowl LVII on February 12th, cheered on by her boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The outfit included an unzipped jumpsuit, leather corset, sleeping bag coat, gloves, and Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon sneakers. Boohoo’s study indicates that Google searches for ‘red sneakers’ in the US have increased significantly, with a surge of more than 136%, reaching an all-time high.

During her 13-minute Super Bowl show, there were over 5,000 searches for ‘Rihanna shoes,’ as per the data. The media has widely documented Rihanna’s preference for bright red sneakers. It also appears her influence has extended to the fashion choices of her fans.

Furthermore, the study found a remarkable surge in searches in the US for a ‘red jumpsuit’ after Rihanna’s performance, with a whopping 520% increase. Furthermore, the analysis discovered that searches for ‘red coat’ and ‘red puffer jacket’ rose significantly in the US, by 189% and 177%, respectively.

The collaboration between Maison Margiela MM6 and Salomon Cross Low on Rihanna’s red sneakers led to a surge in search interest for both brands. According to Google Trends, searches for ‘Salomon sneakers’ soared by 417%, achieving their highest level in five years. Meanwhile, ‘MM6’ searches also hit a 5-year high, surging by 303% during the Super Bowl. This indicates that Rihanna’s fashion choices significantly impacted her popularity and the brands she wore.

According to a new study, African American women such as Zendaya, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and others make up the top ten most searched in Google for 2022.

Recent research indicates that Zendaya is the most searched African American woman in the United States for 2022. Using Google search data for over 100 of the most influential African American women since January 1, 2022, the black social commentators at ThatSister examined which African American woman was the most talked about in 2022.

1. Zendaya

Zendaya was ranked as the top African American woman searched on Google in 2022, with an average of 2.71 million searches each month. She has had an incredibly successful year due to her appearance in the 2021 sci-fi film Dune and her role in HBO’s series Euphoria. With her numerous acting accomplishments throughout the year, the actress has been in the spotlight due to her relationship with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

Rihanna: Most Googled, But Not In Official Rankings

Since singer Rihanna is a Barbarian who is not a U.S. citizen, she is not included in the official ranking. Therefore, she was Googled an average of 1.77 million times each month this year, slightly lower than Zendaya’s. In 2005, Rihanna made her debut in the world with her hit single “Pon de Relay.” Since then, she has rarely been out of the news.

In addition to releasing internationally successful albums, hit singles, and features, Rihanna has also launched a successful clothing and cosmetics line. As a result of these innovative moves, she has maintained a prominent position in the public eye for many years. Also, announcing that she would headline the Super Bowl Halftime show in 2023, the “Lift Me Up” singer made headlines with the birth of her first child with partner A$AP Rocky.

Meghan Markle is a member of the British Royal Family and the wife of King Charles III’s son, Prince Harry. Recently, the actress and Harry were the subjects of headlines regarding the upcoming release of their Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan. Markle is ranked third in this year’s Google searches for African-American women. Google searches for Meghan have exceeded 1.56 million per month this year.

4. Beyonce

When it comes to celebrities who have worked in the music industry for an extended period, Beyoncé stands out as a top-tier personality. Having debuted as a solo artist in 2003, Beyonce has become a household name. As a result of the release of her seventh studio album, Renaissance, which dropped in July, she was Googled 1.20 million times each month across America in 2022, making her the fourth most talked about African American woman this year.

5. Michelle Obama

In the world of politics, being the first lady is a very prestigious position. From 2009 to 2017, Michelle Obama’s husband, Barack Obama, was president of the United States. Recently, there was a release of her new book, “The Light We Carry.” Michelle ranks fifth, with an average of 1.19 million Google searches per month, slightly behind Beyoncé.

6. Jada Pinkett-Smith

Set It Off actress Jada Pinkett-Smith ranks sixth, receiving 1.16 million Google searches monthly. Pinkett-Smith was in the spotlight during the Academy Awards after her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock. Additionally, her relationship with R&B singer August Alsina caused friction within her marriage, which caused Jada’s popularity to rise.

7. Oprah Winfrey

Known for her successful talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah Winfrey has been a significant figure on television since 1985. Since broadcasting nationally in 1986, the program has become the highest-rated television talk show in the United States and has won multiple Emmy Awards. As of 2022, Oprah is the seventh most searched African American woman on Google. In the United States, she is Googled 1.15 million times each month.

8. Nicki Minaj

In the eighth and ninth places, accordingly, are rappers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B. Since signing with Young Money in 2009, Nicki Minaj has released several hit singles. Currently, most of the attention she receives is based on the No. 1 single “Super Freaky Girl,” which contributes to the 1.12 million times she is searched on Google in the United States each month.

9. Cardi B

Recently, Cardi B has been in the spotlight since her husband Offset’s cousin, and former Migos member Takeoff was killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 1. The “Up” rapper was searched 940K times per month throughout 2022 on average.

10. Whoopi Goldberg

The host of The View and recipient of an Emmy Award, Whoopi Goldberg, rounds out the top ten, being searched 648K times per month on average in America throughout the year.

Cam’ron Hosted Show ‘Hip Hop My House’ Releases This Month

The legendary Harlen rapper Cam’ron & interior designer Zeez Louize are hosting a new show called Hip Hop My House. It’s been announced that this home makeover series will be available on Tuesday, June 21st exclusively on Paramount+. The show lets fans renovate their home with luxury designs, elements of Hip-Hop & inspiration from their favorite artists. Additionally, these fans will be able to meet Cam’ron & the other celebrity rappers that feature on an episode. Both MTV Entertainment & Anaïd Productions came together to produce this exciting idea. Backgrounds Of Cam’ron, Zeez Louize & Others

The chemistry between these two will be entertaining to watch during this hot new Paramount+ series. Most of us obvious know Cam’ron for his impactful rap career during the 2000s era. Even the trailers intro acknowledges his status, ““What if a hip-hop legend helped turn your house from bad to bougie?” He’s starred in a couple of roles now including Paid In Full, Honor Up, Queens, etc. Zeez Louize, born as Zoe-Zoe Sheenis a designer that’s worked with Disney, Google Pixel & more. She’s incredibly experienced & well proven in her field. Specific executive & co-executive producers include David F. Mewa, Margaret Mardirossian, Helen Schmidt, Jennifer Little & Sophie Morgadinho.

Paramount+ is expanding & it will be exciting to see how well this show does. Some may find the idea random, but it could end up being a big it if done right. YouTube Music Is Now Available On WearOS Smart Watches Without A Smartphone

With the release of a new update to its WearOS smartwatch platform, Google allows wearable devices to access YouTube Music without a smartphone. ‌

You can connect via WiFi or even LTE if your watch supports it.

Previously, YouTube Music only allowed WearOS devices to download music offline into the device’s internal storage. ‌

In this case, one can listen while offline without connecting ‌to‌‌ ‌‌a‌‌ ‌‌phone. ‌

Nevertheless, the new version of the watch can stream music without connecting to a ‌phone. WearOS watches with this feature are ideal for people who use them while exercising, walking, or running without carrying their phones. ‌

YouTube Music Premium will now offer users access to over 80 million tracks. Furthermore, the users can access thousands of playlists without sticking to their smartphones. However, the functionality is unavailable on an iOS phone paired‌ ‌with‌ ‌your‌ ‌watch.

YouTube Music for WearOS: Additional Features

In addition to the Smart Download feature, YouTube Music for WearOS will automatically refresh songs on your smartwatch when you connect your device to the Internet.

However,‌ ‌it is essential to note that you will require an LTE-enabled watch and a mobile data connection to stream music while running outside or for a similar purpose. Consequently, you will be restricted to using offline music or WiFi networks that are accessible near you.

blog post by Google also stated that users could add a tile for YouTube Music to their watches. ‌

In addition, this‌ ‌tile‌ ‌will‌ ‌provide users access to ‌recently played‌ ‌music. 

Since Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 4 lineup last summer, YouTube Music has not been available on Wear OS devices. This feature was limited to Wear OS 3. However, a month later, Google released Wear OS 2 watches app powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 processors. However, it was only available for offline use. The latest update effectively closes the loop, making YouTube Music a full-featured music streaming application for smartwatches.
