Kodak Black And French Montana May Collab On Joint Album!

Kodak Black may have been in some trouble recently, however, the rapper may be collaborating with French Montana on a new album.

According to Hip Hop DX, on Tuesday, August 2nd, Kodak presented plans to drop a joint album with the “Keep It Real” rapper in the near future. Hyping up his work as “top rope,”  the two artists have proven to be a successful duo in recent years. Kodak Black and French Montana came together on tracks such as “Lockjaw,” and “Mopstick.” They also worked together on “Lifestyle” featuring Kevin Gates, along with DJ Khaled’s “Pick These H*es Apart.” In 2019, “Lockjaw” was certified double platinum and the video for “Mopstick” was co-signed by Drake following its release earlier this year.

In a 2020 interview with Big Boy, French described Kodak as one of the most unusual collaborative encounters. He stated Black hardly spoke to him on set of their “Lockjaw” video.

“Me and him didn’t have, like, one conversation when we shot the video,” I just looked at him and he growled at me. That’s my dawg, man. Shout out to Kodak. But you know, we was getting lit, we was drinking. He live that rock star life. He about that life.”

While we wait on the album, in June French Montana, secured his spot in the “rap album of the year” ring with Montega. The full-length collaboration that gained appearances from Rick Ross, Quavo, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, EST Gee and more. Back in. February, Kodak Black also scored his third top three album with Back For Everything. Not to mention, “Super Gremlin” went platinum-certified, and the Florida rapper also featured on some the year’s greatest rap albums such as Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Gunna’s DS4Ever, and Future’s I NEVER LIKED YOU.

Here’s Why Kevin Gates Doesn’t Give Away Thanksgiving Turkeys

Giving away free turkeys to the less fortunate on Thanksgiving is as traditional as the holiday itself. Indeed, in the hip-hop world, this is carefully observed. This year, rappers like Snoop Dogg and A$AP Rocky did their part in helping the less fortunate celebrate the holiday. Even Kodak Black, staying in rehab, orchestrated a 5,000 turkey giveaway throughout his home state of Florida. Across the US, giveaways of hot meals, gift cards, and of course, turkeys brought in the holiday. However, one rapper has beef with all this turkey: Kevin Gates.

Kevin Gates vs. Turkey

In an Instagram story since-shared by DJ Akademiks, the Kevin Gates gave his thoughts on a free turkey giveaway. He stated:

“Motherf*ckers just asked me why I wasn’t passing out turkeys. Let’s think logically. If I go out here and pass out a bunch of uncooked turkeys, where are they gonna cook them?”

 

Now, no one can or should fault Gates for being against the consumption of raw food. What’s more, Gates backed it up with a giveaway of his own. In a video posted to his Instagram page, the “Yes Lawd” rapper could be seen giving away bags of sandwiches and fruit to the less fortunate. The video caption reads, “The greatest deed is to feed the less-fortunate – May Allah elevate our Rank I love you All #TheBeloved.”

So, perhaps his actions, in this case, spoke louder than his words. Still, he said what he said. The man gave his opinion on turkey giveaways. Naturally, Twitter had to react. The Twitter-verse was somewhat…against him.

Moral of the story: don’t talk turkey if you’re not ready for beef. Nonetheless, our hats off to Kevin Gates for helping the less fortunate.

Multiple Celebrities Give A Hand And Turkeys Out On Thanksgiving

Multiple rappers give out meals, turkeys, and even gift cards as Thanksgiving passes. Snoop Dogg, A$AP Rocky, DaBaby and DaniLeigh are among the providers, each with their own Thanksgiving story.

Snoop Dogg, LA Rams Cheerdleaders & Inglewood Officials

DJ Snoopadelic teamed up with cheerleaders from Los Angeles Rams and Inglewood, CA city officials. The team brought the Thanksgiving passion and provided for less fortunate.

The rapper, the sportswomen, and the Inglewood townsmen packed turkeys and other food in the vehicles, later bringing the goods to Hollywood Park.

The event took place on Tuesday, Nov. 23, for the city’s annual Turkey Giveaway. Potatoes, carrots and Granny Smith apples also came, for the sides. Snoop reportedly also helped to pack the food.

A$AP Rocky Volunteers In Harlem

Pretty Flack0 joined other rappers on Thanksgiving and also helped those going through the hard times. Rocky went to Volunteers Of America family residence in Harlem, where he shared food and a plate with local residents.

A$AP helped to give out turkey, mac and cheese, greens, and other sides for the families and singles, who visited the event.

Rocky did the similar event last year, according to TMZ. The magazine also stated:

“Rocky and his mother benefited from the shelter’s lifesaving services was a huge reason why he wanted to take part and give back to the place that provided them a temporary home when they needed it the most.”

The Rappers’ Ex-Couple Of DaBaby & DaniLeigh (Separately) Give Out Gift Cards On Thanksgiving

After the scandalous break-up, the ex-couple of DaBaby and DaniLeigh simultaneously gave out gift cards. While DaBaby gave a hand in Charlotte, DaniLeigh went on Instagram to share the gifts.

On Monday November 22nd, DaBaby took a trip to a local Walmart, where he gave out a 100 of 100-dollar worth gift cards to people in the community. Multiple people recorded the event.

DaBaby also reported. The rapper went on Instagram, where he posted on the giveaway: “Pop up Thanksgiving Giveaway yesterday went way crazier than expected! 😳Wanted to help out whoever we could before I got my family situated for the Holidays!”

The rapper also promised more for Christmas: “I got something BIG planned for Christmas y’all hold tight! 🤫 & anybody we couldn’t get to through the chaos yesterday find a way to reach out we gone try our best to help, we don’t want NOBODY going without but I had to end it early it was too hectic for the elderly ppl & the kids out there. Happy Holidays From #BDBENT.”

DaniLeigh

DaniLeigh took on social media 2 days after DaBaby. She went on stories, where she expressed a wish “to give gift cards to mommy’s in need for Thanksgiving ! DM me and I’ll be sending em out today.” DaniLeigh then followed up with unfortunate news: “OK mamas I wish I could help all of u… I picked out a lot of ladies and I hope that what I send u helps out…”

DaniLeigh later posted another story which was a Boomerang with gift cards. “Sending these out in the morning. Love you guys && I really hope u have a great Thanksgiving .. Life ain’t easy but we gotta go through s**t to be who we need to be .. especially for our babies,” she texted on top of the Boomerang.

JayDaYoungan Arrested; Charges Include Child Desertion and Evidence Tampering

JayDaYoungan has once again found himself in trouble with the law. Following a traffic stop in Washington Parish, Louisiana on Saturday (Oct. 30), authorities detained the 23-year-old rapper on various accusations. The charges include child desertion, evidence tampering, and narcotics possession. Authorities booked the rapper, born Javorius Scott, into Washington Parish Jail in Louisiana at 2:51 pm.

JayDaYoungan’s current charges include switching license plates, driving without proof of insurance, another violation of child restraint, and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of someone under the age of 17. He also faces charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with weapons present, marijuana possession, possession of a schedule II narcotic, obstruction of justice, and contempt of court.

The rapper released his last project, 23 Is Back, in June with no features. JayDaYoungan has previously worked with Dej Loaf, Latto, Moneybagg Yo, and Kevin Gates.

JayDaYoungan’s Previous Arrest

JayDaYoungan’s run-in with the law isn’t his first. Authorities previously arrested the rapper in September, in his home state of Louisiana. Allegations included accessory to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice in connection with a homicide in August of 2020. According to WAFB6, JayDaYoungan was allegedly involved in a brutal and fatal drive-by shooting on Aug. 8, 2020. The shooting took place between two local rival gangs, La Familia and the Purple City Boys, claiming one life and injuring two others.

During the event, two suspected shooters—22-year-old Laqontre Turner of Tickfaw, La., and 19-year-old Arman Burnett Jr. of Hammond, La.—opened fire on a trail ride. They shot and killed Zion Hutcherson, a 21-year-old Baton Rouge mother and innocent bystander, in the incident. Despite the allegations, JayDaYoungan left police custody on a $175,000 bond. For his release, he posted an $80,600 property bond and a $94,300 commercial bail.

After his latest arrest, JayDaYoungan remains in custody without bond. The rapper and his team have not responded to comments yet.

Lil Baby Concert to Take Place in Columbia

Lil Baby

Lil Baby is one of the first to return to in-person concert venues.

The Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina announced its first in-person concert since the pandemic has started. The show, which will headline Lil Baby, is titled “The End of Summer Jam.” Additionally, the lineup will include Kevin Gates, City Girls, and Blacc Zacc. The show will take place on August 14, and tickets will go on sale on May 28, at 10 am.

“This concert is much anticipated as concert enthusiasts are eager to get back to live entertainment,” arena officials said in the announcement. Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic closed down the venue for close to a year. This announcement came as big news to rap fans and concert lovers in the area.

Additionally, the concert will follow the anticipated release of Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s collaborative album. Hopefully, the LP will make an appearance at the end-of-summer concert. With such an impressive lineup, any rap fan in the southeast will want a part of this concert. Finally, this event is sure to be an eventful one with tickets going fast!
