OutKast The Greatest Rap Group-Enter The Debate

Billboard, the renowned music publication, recently sparked a heated debate on social media. Naming OutKast the greatest rap group of all time. There’s no denying the contributions OutKast has made to the world of hip-hop. However, opinions varied among social media users as to whether they truly deserved the number one slot.

 

Enter The Debate-Is OutKast The Greatest?

As soon as the news broke, Instagram exploded with comments from rap enthusiasts eager to voice their disapproval. “You can’t be serious right now,” one user wrote. “They’re legends, but number one of all time? LMFAOO ain’t no way bruh.” A supporter of Wu-Tang Clan argued, “Wu Tang is the greatest rap group of all time.” Another user entered the chat saying, “Wu-Tang the greatest GROUP. OutKast the greatest duo.”

Although criticism of OutKast’s top ranking was loud, fans quickly came to their defense. “Billboard finally got it right,” one fan wrote. Another boldly claimed, “If you disagree with this, you have no music taste.” Another injected a touch of humor, saying, “Only people disagreeing with this are 2000’s babies.”

While some social media users respected Billboard’s decision, even if they personally disagreed. Others argued that OutKast’s creativity alone launched them above the competition. On the other side, skeptics believe that OutKast hadn’t influenced the rap genre enough to warrant the coveted number one position.

The heart of the debate centered around the fact that OutKast is a duo, unlike many other groups on the list. This caused some users to suggest that they should have been considered in a separate category altogether. Others fell somewhere in the middle, acknowledging OutKast’s undeniable status as one of the greatest rap groups while still believing another group should have seized the top spot.

Ultimately, social media is split. Reflecting the ongoing discussion and subjective nature of ranking musical acts. While OutKast’s unique style and undeniable impact on the rap scene cannot be understated, fans and critics alike continue to debate the rankings.

In the ever-evolving landscape of rap, it’s clear that the argument for the greatest rap group of all time will remain subjective, fiercely debated, and endlessly intriguing. Whether you agree or disagree with Billboard’s choice, one thing is certain. OutKast’s legacy as innovators and pioneers in the rap world is firmly etched in history.

Cardi B is using her platform to call out one woman, Casey Anthony, who was formerly accused of murdering her child.

Yesterday, December 5th, the Bronx rapper went off on Twitter targeting Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of killing Caylee, her 2-year-old daughter back in 2008. The mother of 2 seems to be reacting to the new docuseries Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies.  The series debuted on Peacock on November 29th and is based on the devastating case. At the time of the case, the investigation was national news. In a tweet, Cardi say’s, “I don’t give a deum how they flip it, switch it, turn it, toss it Casey Anthony is a disgrace of a mother and she shouldn’t have a uterus!”

The Invasion of Privacy artist continues to add, “I don’t feel bad… YALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED to that baby!!!!”

The story is based around a real case involving Anthony’s daughter Caylee, who went missing in June of 2008. What makes the case even more suspicious is that her disappearance wasn’t reported until a full month after it happened. Casey also gave inaccurate and conflicting information regarding the disappearance of her daughter. That October, following an investigation, she was indicted for Caylee’s murder. A few months later in December, Caylee’s body was found in the woods. By July of 2011, Casey had been acquitted of murdering Caylee but found guilty of lying in statements and served some time in prison.

The new docu-series details Casey’s new claims, one being that her father was responsible for Caylee’s death. Nancy Grace, a true crime reporter, also seems to agree with Cardi. During the time, Grace rose to fame after commenting on the case. Recently she has lashed out the docu-series, saying, “it changes nothing.” In an interview with Extra, Nancy tells Billy Bush there’s nothing Anthony says in the series that makes her appear less guilty.

YNW Melly Lost His Phone Privileges In Prison, Claims He Hasn’t Spoke To His Family In Months!

YNW Melly has been locked up for quite some time, and now he’s calling on other celebrities for help. The rapper has been incarcerated in Broward County, Florida after being arrested in 2019 for allegedly murdering his two friends, Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams. Within the past months, the artist lost his phone privilege and has not been able to communicate with his family.

According to Hip Hop DX, on Saturday, December 3rd Melly shared an Instagram post explaining the “mistreatment and discrimination,” he claims he experienced. The “Murder On My Mind” artist revealed the names of the correctional facility employees who were involved in the abuse. He say’s, “As I speak to you from My cell at this very moment I am weeping in the present.” Melly continues, “I have been mute For years about the mistreatment, discrimination and misuse of authority mentally& emotionally abuse, I have been suffering and in fear B.S.O staff Captain Archibald Captain Hubert.” The rapper also called out XO Jean Baptiste and XO Jenkins who have enforced this treatment.

YNW Melly says he has not spoken with the outside world due to losing his phone privileges.

He says on April 8th he was told he was not allowed to use the phone indefinitely. The star claims that captain Archibald Revoked his calls for using another inmate pin to talk on the phone. When inmates get disciplined for this, they are phone restricted for 30 days. However, in Melly’s case, this has been going on for 8 months. He states that no other inmate is being treated this way. Melly hasn’t spoken to family, friends, managers, and others for months. Due to his lack of communication, it’s nearly impossible for the 23-year-old to pay his bills and other necessities.

In the post, he continues to say he is being hidden from the world. “Not hearing my family voices has mentally & emotionally tortured me into deep depression.” He states that he was never given a fair warning that talking on another inmate’s pin was wrong. As the holidays approach, YNW Melly feels that not only is he being tortured but his family as well.

In a final plea for help, the Florida rapper takes action in reaching out to multiple media outlets and other celebrities. He sais, “I am innocent until proven guilty and I have all rights to talk to my family, who ever took my privillages have a personal vendetta towards me… Somebody please help me!! @saycheesetv @akademiks @nojumper @meekmill @kimkardashian @300ent @joebiden.”

Young Thugs Legal Team Request Lyrics And Other Work Not Be Used Against Him In RICO Trial

Young Thug is currently facing gang-related charges as a part of the Young Stoner Life Records RICO case. His legal team is working hard to keep his lyrics out of the trial.

According to HipHop DX, court documents reveal that Thug’s lawyers have requested that the rapper’s song lyrics, music videos, and social media posts be excluded as evidence in the trial. The motion states, “The admission and use of these lyrics, poetry, and artistry against Young Thug in his upcoming trial would be a Constitutional violation and an abuse of discretion, too prejudicial and unconstitutional.” It continues to read, that using this kind of evidence against Young Thug is racist and discriminatory as they believe the jury will be poisoned and prejudiced by these lyrics and such.

The trial against Thug, Gunna, and multiple members of the YSL gang is set to begin!

The RICO trial is set to begin on January 9th, of 2023 and could last almost a year. The current members listed in the 56-count indictment have been locked up since May. Both Thug and Gunna have been denied their bond requests multiple times.

Earlier this month, several new photos of the artists surfaced the internet. The photos show Young Thug and Gunna as they appeared in court video pre-trial hearing. Both were seen rocking jumpsuits and Thug noticeably praying.

Judge Glanville stated, “The biggest driver that I see is that I’ve no-bonded most all the people in this trial… They deserve to have a right to go to trial.” Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis also had filed the motion for a two-month delay in October allowing some of the defendants more time to find legal representation. Prosecutors also revealed during the hearing that they plan to call about 300 witnesses to the trial.

Blueface Charged With Attempted Murder, Chrisean Rock Shows Her Support!

Baddie Christian Rock and rapper Blueface are always making headlines as they’ve turned their crazy lives into reality TV. This time, the on-and-off couple remain in the spotlight as Blueface was arrested on charges of attempted murder.

According to Newsweek, the “Thotiana” artist was taken in on Tuesday, November 15th, on charges of attempted murder. The 25-year-old was caught using a deadly weapon and discharged a firearm at/into an occupied structure. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that the charges relate to a shooting that happened on October 8th, 2022, in the 6000 block of Windy Road. The star was taken into custody and was charged at the Clark County Detention Center. The source also notes that the arrest seemed to be an undercover investigation, with about six to eight officers on board.

One thing about Chrisean Rock is that she is going to support her man! Chrisean was beside Blue when police made the arrest. Since then she has taken to social media to grieve her boyfriend’s arrest. She tweeted, “ugh why gotta take you from me,” adding some sad emojis. One publication even posted up his mugshot which has surfaced the internet, in which Chrisean respond with mixed emoji reactions.

A few hours later, Rock tweeted a video she recorded of her and Blueface walking through a hotel together where they kissed outside of an elevator. Chrisean claims she took the video only three hours before his arrest. She say’s, “Daddy dis was 3 hours before they took you from me.” The baddie also shared a similar video on her Instagram writing, “Dis was 3 hours before they took u from me Jesus Got us NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US SHALL PROSPER IM YO ROCK FORever!!!” Lastly, she shared a video of where it all began with her forever lover.

The Weeknd Discusses Taking Down “Trilogy” From All Streaming Services

The Weeknd’s mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence all are made up of the songs in Trilogy. He released them all back in 2011, however, he shared Trilogy a year later. The artist says that he is thinking about removing his Trilogy project from streaming platforms. Weeknd believes his fans should hear the three projects surrounding the album in their original mixes.

The Weeknd took to Twitter to let his fans know his thoughts.

On Sunday, November 13th, The Weeknd tweeted, “If y’all wanna hear the trilogy how it’s supposed to be listened to … listen to House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence individually,” He explains, “Not all samples are on trilogy and the mix isn’t the original mix. But shout out trilogy but fyi, for the new fans, it isn’t an album.”

Weekend goes onto say, he may get rid of the compilation so that there’s no more confusion and that all the the samples have been cleared since December 17 of 2021.

In his tweets, the star also considers the fans who love the compilation so he might not get rid of it. He states that he just wants it to be clear for all the new and weirdly older fans.

Fans flooded the comment section with their love for Trilogy.

One user @xobarbiegurl said “literally every detail from every song on the mixtapes are here nd i am so in love with it!” Another user @bburningham even replied to The Weeknd suggesting, “It’s a whole different experience individually. For the obvious differences, try What you Need, Coming Down. Subtle production differences can be heard on others such as Next, D.D., Lonely Star, and Outside. So good.” One fan by the name Genova even got a reply from the singer himself. She stated that she believed the trilogy version is 10x better, in which The Weeknd said in his personal opinion, the original birds part 2 sounds way better than on trilogy.

SZA Previews New Track “PSA” In Honor Of Her 33rd Birthday!

Since the arrival of “Shirt,” SZA is not holding back when it comes to releasing new music. Recently the artist celebrated her 33rd birthday, previewing her new song, “PSA.”

Yesterday, November 8th was SZA’s 33rd birthday. The star used her special day to gift fans some new music. SZA took to social media to tease her new song “PSA” along with the caption “happy birthday to me. Clock starts now.” According to The Fadar, many fans believe the “clock starts now” is in reference to a countdown for the full track release. However, many also believe there might be more than just a song, maybe an album headed our way.

The short “PSA” clip shows SZA squatting in a ring of green fire which quickly skips to her in a shadowed blue glow while she harmonizes “you should go cry about it.” In the video, SZA codes “SOS,” in morse which the same message was featured in the music video for her recent single “Shirt.” The code also appears in her Instagram bio, as well. People are also speculating that “SOS’ may possibly be the title of her next album.

Twitter goes crazy over “PSA” teaser!

Fans on Twitter are not only excited for the upcoming release of “PSA,” but are curious as to whether there will definitely be a new album and what the “SOS” code stands for. One user @hennyondatweet tweeted, “I think SZA’s album title gotta be confirmed SOS at this point. It was in stamps on her arm in Shirt and in Morse Code at the end of this PSA teaser.” Some fans like @N3PTUNEMUSIC even did their research adding screenshots of the morse code alphabet saying, “It says SOS at the end of the PSA teaser!!” Another user @datmudasucka couldn’t contain her excitement and said, “WE MADE IT!! THE SZA DROUGHT IS OVER”

Diddy Plans To Create The Largest Black-Owned, Licensed Cannabis Company, Opening Opportunities For Minorities!

Diddy is making major moves as he plans to make his first investment within the cannabis industry. The rapper is seeking to purchase multiple licensed marijuana operations in three states costing up to $185 million.

According to Rap-Up, cannabis is currently the fastest-growing industry in the United States. If the U.S. approves Combs’s plan, then he will create the largest Black-owned and licensed cannabis company in the world. It will also be the nation’s first minority-owned and operated, vertically integrated multi-state operator.

Diddy’s Wish For Minorities!

Columbia Care and Cresco Labs are both major companies in the cannabis industry. While they plan to sell assets to the Bad Boy mogul for $185 million, many expect the industry to reach about $72 billion by 2030.

With 81% of cannabis businesses being white-owned, the artist is soon to own nine retail stores and three production facilities. His wish is to mainly close the gap for minority entrepreneurs interested in cannabis. Puff said his mission has always been to create more opportunities for Black entrepreneurs who’ve always been denied access. He continues to add, “this acquisition provides the immediate scale and impact needed to create a more equitable future in cannabis…. An historic win for the culture that will allow us to empower diverse leaders throughout the ecosystem and be bold advocates for inclusion.”

Combs Enterprises President, Tarik Brooks, sat down with Bloomberg Markets and Finance to discuss opportunities and ways the company plans to expand in the cannabis world. Brooks stated it is very rare that an African-American entrepreneur gets to participate in the development of this industry. He goes on to say that as cannabis will continue growing, it is important to bring diversity to the field. Columbia Care CEO and co-founder, Nicholas Vita, added that the Combs team would make a great impact in the industry. “We can’t wait to see how he helps shape the cannabis industry going forward through his entrepreneurial leadership and innovation.”

Tory Lanez Ordered To house Arrest, Seen Charging Ankle Bracelet!

Tory Lanez was involved in a few altercations these past couple of years. Although he plead not guilty, the Los Angeles judge ordered him to house arrest.

TMZ reports that the rapper is ordered to house arrest until November 28th. This is when his trial with Megan Thee Stallion begins. Back in September, Lanez was accused of attacking August Alsina in Chicago which led to his court-ordered house arrest. There was not only a video that surfaced but also an Instagram post where Alsina is seen with a bloody mouth, in which he claims that Tory assaulted him all because he didn’t greet the rapper. August said, “There was never a “fight”! Simply an assault.”

Tory keeps his head high going into house arrest.

On Monday, October 31st, the “Broke In A Minute” artist was seen outside the Corrective Solution facility in Los Angeles. Although no charges were filed in the Alsina case, Tory’s attorney, Shawn Holley argued that allegations made by August were without hard proof. Lanez was caught walking and smiling as you can notice him charging the metal tracker on his ankle.

While the star will be on house arrest, prosecutors are continuing to argue that Tory needs to remain in custody as he keeps violating the conditions of his bail regarding his case with Megan. They claim he is a threat to public safety and monetary bail wont slide. As of right now, Lanez is being charged for firing the gun that injured Meg back in 2020. Things are not looking good for the “Say It” rapper as he will be spending quite some time at home.

In other related news, Tory Lanez has been keeping himself positively productive as he’s not only dropped his Sorry 4 What album but also featured on many tracks. Recently the artist collabed with Diddy on a “Gotta Move On” remix with Fabulous. He also worked with A Boogie on the track “Take Shots” and Hotblock Jmoe on “9 X Outta 10.”

Meek Mill is definitely feeling Ice Spice’s new hot single, “Munch (Feelin’ You).” Recently, the artist shared a clip on Instagram where he remixed the rising drill track.

On Saturday, October 29th, Meek took to his Instagram story to show some love for Ice’s song. In the video, Meek seems to be boarded on an airplane where he reveals his new freestyle remix to “Munch.” The rapper also posted a picture of himself on stage captioned with lyrics from the remix, “That money I gave you wasn’t even enough.”

Meek isn’t the first rapper to freestyle over “Munch!”

Meek Mill is the most recent rapper to preview a remix over Ice Spices new track. However, he is not the only artist to cover the popular drill song. Back in September, Symba dropped his version of “Much” where he seemed to be taking a jab at some of the women in his circle. Just a few weeks ago, Cardi B also teased a small “Munch” verse, although she said she wont be dropping an official remix.

Fans on Twitter are not taking this remix seriously as one user asked if this was a joke. Another stated that Meeks remix to “Munch” is one of the funniest things he’s heard in a minute, while a different fan said the remix goes hard on mute.

Meek Mill talks music and money!

On October 1st of 2021, Meek dropped his album, Expensive Pain. On the first anniversary of the album, the artist took time to reflect his money in the game. He said, “1 year Anniversary to the last album. Idk how money I made off it or had no control over the overall plan and I only made 13% off it lol.” He continues to add that he going to make 10 million or more off every album he decides to drop. The “Going Bad” rapper explains, “I was caught up in that slave sh!t that’s why I been taking long.” Meek wrote that everything he does flames, and that they don’t promote music with morals in the system.
