Rick Ross Speaks On Turk Calling Him Out

Rick Ross had words for Turk after the former Hot Boy called him out on the Drink Champs podcast. On Tuesday, Rozay was out on a morning jog when he addressed the allegations brought up by Turk on the hip-hop talk show. According to Turk, Rick Ross never reached out after his release from jail. During Turk’s time behind bars, Ross shouted him out on a 2017 song.

“One of my homeboys just sent me a clip of the dude Turk talking on N.O.R.E show,” Ross said in regards to Turk. “Now, Turk, I don’t know you personally. Your brother is the one who said you was a punk, personally. I spoke on your hustle and the work you put in, brother. That’s what I mention[ed] your name for, brother. Not letting the streets forget your name.”

The Miami rapper mentioned Turk on his 2017 track “Idols Become Rivals”, where he also addressed his beef with Birdman.

“Knew that you would never visit B.G.,” Ross rapped on the song. “Turk came home, take that boy a three piece.”

Turk was questioned about the line while on Drink Champs and the New Orleans native called Ross out for never offering any help.

“Rick Ross ain’t reach out to me since I’ve been home,” Turk said. “I’ve been home since 2012 and I’m in Atlanta, n****…Matter of fact, I go hunting and fishing down your block. Holla at me, fat boy.”

Turk served almost nine years in prison on federal gun charges. The charges came from the rappers involvement in the shooting of a Memphis police officer. Turk was convicted in 2005 and sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment.

The Drink Champs interview was also notable due to Turk making claims that he and Lil Wayne once caught an STD together. You can watch the full interview below.

Kodak Black may have been in some trouble recently, however, the rapper may be collaborating with French Montana on a new album.

According to Hip Hop DX, on Tuesday, August 2nd, Kodak presented plans to drop a joint album with the “Keep It Real” rapper in the near future. Hyping up his work as “top rope,”  the two artists have proven to be a successful duo in recent years. Kodak Black and French Montana came together on tracks such as “Lockjaw,” and “Mopstick.” They also worked together on “Lifestyle” featuring Kevin Gates, along with DJ Khaled’s “Pick These H*es Apart.” In 2019, “Lockjaw” was certified double platinum and the video for “Mopstick” was co-signed by Drake following its release earlier this year.

In a 2020 interview with Big Boy, French described Kodak as one of the most unusual collaborative encounters. He stated Black hardly spoke to him on set of their “Lockjaw” video.

“Me and him didn’t have, like, one conversation when we shot the video,” I just looked at him and he growled at me. That’s my dawg, man. Shout out to Kodak. But you know, we was getting lit, we was drinking. He live that rock star life. He about that life.”

While we wait on the album, in June French Montana, secured his spot in the “rap album of the year” ring with Montega. The full-length collaboration that gained appearances from Rick Ross, Quavo, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, EST Gee and more. Back in. February, Kodak Black also scored his third top three album with Back For Everything. Not to mention, “Super Gremlin” went platinum-certified, and the Florida rapper also featured on some the year’s greatest rap albums such as Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Gunna’s DS4Ever, and Future’s I NEVER LIKED YOU.

Keep updated with FM Hip-Hop for all you latest hip-hop news as we wait for the joint album to arrive.

Ray J’s Fast Food Pitch Attracts Offer From Rick Ross

American singer Ray J and rapper Rick Ross are in the offing to work together, but this time it’s not strictly on a hip-hop level.

The American rapper and entrepreneur indicated an interest in Ray J’s video pitch for an interested organization. In the video, the American singer, actor and television personality pitched a fast-food jingle in a conference room. The “Hustlin’” American rapper Rick Ross eventually showed interest in the pitch originally meant for a fast-food restaurant. He now wants Ray J to create another song with Wingstop in mind.

As someone who knows how to market, Ray J had expressed interest in writing the theme song “Crystal.”

“I’m pitching you a deal and I need you to hit me back tomorrow because I don’t have a lot of time,” he sang last weekend. “I’m gonna pitch this to you and hopefully you feel it.”

“This is like full burlesque, 1950s and the band on stage,” he continued. “Let me do it. I need a capella, fam. Snacks and sides, shakes and fries.”

“It’s actually not a bad pitch,” one follower commented on the video, which DJ Akademiks promoted on his Instagram page.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CgFG3qqg0x3/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_video_watch_again

The pitch portrayed the entrepreneurial side of Ray J. and attracted the interest of a known entrepreneur who shares renown as a fellow musician.

Actually, Ray J’s pitch garnered several accolades, but it indeed brought Rick Ross into the venture. “Reword it for Wingstop, I will consider it fr,” he posted.

The Benefit Extends Beyond Rick Ross

While jumping at the offer, the “Richer Than I’ve Ever Been” artist made it clear that Ray J’s expertise would be helpful to the Wingstop franchiseHis son is already part of the entity, having received it as a birthday gift when he turned 16.

Soulja Boy Responds To a 12-Year-Old Wizkid Diss On Twitter

Soulja Boy is firing shots at Nigerian artist Wizkid over a tweet from 2010. Soulja, who has always kept his name alive through various beefs, called out Wizkid over the tweet on Sunday.

“I swear, Soulja Boy is wack! Jeeeezzzzz!, the post from July 11, 2010 read. There’s no explanation for how the tweet came to Soulja Boy’s attention, but the Atlanta rapper has never been one to tolerate disrespect.

“Ya mama wack. Shut ya b**ch a** up,” Soulja replied on July 10. Soulja Boy’s response to Wizkid has garnered over 8,000 retweets and almost 13,000 likes. Fans have chimed in on the topic over social media.

“I agree with you Soulja Boy,” tweeted one fan. The tweet ended up being liked by Soulja himself. Later on Sunday, the “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” artist went on Instagram Live to further address the situation.

“I just seen this sh*t right now n***a, you feel me?”, he said. I don’t understand how n***as can say, ‘Soulja Boy wack, Soulja Boy this, Soulja Boy that.’ But as soon as I say, ‘You’s a b*tch, ya mama,’ then it’s, ‘Oh no he’s clout chasing. Oh no he crazy. Oh no, why he say that?.'”

A Deeper Look Into The Wizkid Tweet

At the time of the tweet, Wizkid was only 19 years and had released singles from his debut album Superstar, which dropped in 2011. Meanwhile, Soulja was the same age and had already released two albums with classic hits such as “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” and “Turn My Swag On.”

As mentioned, however, Soulja Boy is no stranger to beef. He’s had conflicts with numerous artists in the industry throughout his career. Chris Brown, Lil Yachty and Bow Wow are some of the more notable examples.

In a recent interview, A$AP Rocky claimed that rap music hasn’t been as “mature” since Soulja Boy’s debut.

“Rap is in its adolescence and it’s been stuck here since Soulja Boy,” he said to Interview Magazine. “Before, everybody looked 35 and up. When Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and T.I and Jeezy and [Rick} Ross was on, they looked old. Like, we had Lil Bow Wow and that was it.”

Rick Ross Reveals Release Date and Cover Art for New Album

Rick Ross has revealed that his new album, “Richer Than I’ve Ever Been”, is going on sale on December 10. This will be yet another installment to his already esteemed Maybach Music Group record label.  The “King of Wingstop” is definitely channeling a “rich” persona on this cover art.

Rick Ross Reveals Cover Art & Release Date for New Album 'Richer Than I've Ever Been' | HipHop-N-More
The “Richer Than I’ve Ever Been” album cover Rozay shared via Instagram @richforever

This is going to be Ross’s 11th studio album. He was originally planning on releasing it at the beginning of the year, but he delayed it. He did so to perfect the album. Although he has kept fans satisfied by generously previewing snippets of unreleased album cuts, Ross has kept details relatively close to his chest.

Ross is extremely proud of this album and thinks that it is his best one yet. Back in September, he had said this in “The Bakari Sellers” podcast. “Really I feel this is the best album. I make progress every day. The words I use, the positions I’m in, the things I’m able to say. Some of the stuff I’m saying on the album gon’ separate this album from others. A lot of people are going to say Rozay shouldn’t have did thaaaat. I think I should. Why not? That’s what the game needs. I’m only going to bring what the game needs.”

Giving the game what it needs

“The game needed a boss like myself,” he continues. “Somebody to give us the perspective of the back of the classroom. The game needed somebody with that ambition and drive after accumulating that much success, wealth. Still collaborating with young, unsigned artists. Still bringing youngsters into the promised land.” He has also said that the album will give “that uncut Rozay” and a 2006-2007 feel, in a different interview.

The highly anticipated, Richer Than I Ever Been, album will be available Dec. 10.

Rick Ross Gifts Son Wing Stop Branch for His 16th Birthday

Turning sixteen is a big day for anyone. Traditionally, a sixteen year old might be gifted their first car, a celebration of reaching the depths of their teenage years. If you’re Rick Ross’s son, you might get something different. Perhaps the newest threads or the cream-of-the-crop accessories?

If you’re William Roberts III, then congratulations: you now own a Wing Stop franchise.

Ross passes the wing

Rick Ross, already the owner himself of multiple Wing Stop franchises, is looking to get his son in on the business. As of September 14th, William Roberts III is now the proud owner of his first franchise location. Ross posted to Instagram,

“Everyone wish my son @mmgbigbank HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY !!! Today he became the owner of his 1st @wingstop franchise. Your now officially a BOSS !!! Keep Going,”

As if that wasn’t enough, the Ross kept things traditional and gifted his son a car to boot. William is now also the proud of owner of a brand new, luxurious GMC Yukon Denali. Check it out here on Ross’s Instagram story.

Amidst all this, the birthday wishes poured in. Rozay’s friends and collaborators like Jim Jones, E-40, Murda Beatz, Killer Mike, and T.I. all wished young William well. Ross later commented on the same post, “William, I am extremely proud of you my son”.

Kiss the Wing

It’s good to let the kid in on the family’s other business. Ross already owns twenty-five Wing Stop franchise locations. Rozay even helped launch Thighstop, an effort to keep Wing Stop going strong. A rise in chicken price and “shortage” of chicken earlier this year was the catalyst for the move.

Ross began acquiring the locations in 2017 following a meeting with WingStop Inc. Chairman and CEO Charlie Morrison. Ross spoke on his relationship with Morrison in an interview with Complex, saying:

“(Morrison) knew I didn’t have the time sitting in a franchise, but he saw my vision and my passion…opened the doors for me. He didn’t just let me follow my dreams. He let me go to that next level.”

Rick Ross Promoted ‘Thighstop’ Amid Tuna Controversy

Rick Ross promoted ‘Thighstop’ on Instagram amid Subway controversy

The New York Times investigated ‘Subway,’ and as a result, it caused controversy around its tuna ingredient. The problem is–it lacks tuna. Subway told the New York Post, ‘DNA testing is simply not a reliable way to identify denatured proteins.’ A member of the DNA lab, where the testing was held, responded saying that tuna might be ‘so heavily processed that whatever we could pull out, we couldn’t make an identification.’

Making use of the opportunity, Rick Ross promoted another restaurant, Thighstop. On Instagram, he claimed ‘@thighstop winning’ since ‘our lemon pepper is lemon pepper.’

Ross’s relationship with the restaurant goes back to ‘Wingstop.’ A lover of the brand, he owns 25 ‘Wingstop’ franchises. According to Ross, Thighstop is the franchise’s solution to the ongoing wing shortage crisis

Ross has also participated in the restaurant’s marketing campaign. The rapper stated ‘Nah, we’re doing thighs.’ as a response to ‘Nobody moves more wings than the boss Rick Ross and Wingstop…now there’s a national wing shortage…done hustlin’?’ Commercial’s narrator voice also said that ‘The hustle continues.’

5 Verzuz Battles We Need To See

Prez Tells Us The 5 Verzuz Battles We Need ASAP!

We absolutely love the Verzuz battles. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland started something majestic.  Everyone seems to be throwing out names to see who should battle who. So we came out with 5 battles that would be amazing. We had to reach deep into the playlist catalogs for this one.

1. French Montana VS. Wiz Khalifa

Photo via Instagram: @wizkhalifa

Lets start with 2 guys who always have a record in circulation. Wiz gave us the Pittsburgh anthem, Black and Yellow, made us all cry with Charlie Puth on See You Again, and got us buying edibles and vapes with Travis Scott on Bake Sale. French had us riding on East Tremont on  Ain’t Worried Bout Nothin, has a strip club posse cut with Pop That, songs with Drake such as No Stylist and hit with Swae Lee on Unforgettable. Neither one is known for the classic album, but got records to make for an entertaining battle.

2. Asap Ferg VS. Big Sean

Photo via Instagram: @AsapFerg

Two of the most underrated rappers today would make a Verzuz battle. Asap Ferg is one of the most energetic artists of his generation and Big Sean never gets the credit he deserves for how dope he is. They worked with each other on Ferg’s  World is Mine. I would be interested to see what the song placement would be in this battle. That would be the key to victory. Ferg got heavy hitters such as New Level and Work Remix, but Big Sean could counter with Blessings and Marvin & Chardonnay. Swizz and Timbo got to set this one up.

3. T.I. VS. Rick Ross

Photo via Instagram: @richforever

T.I. vs. 50 Cent is cool, but putting him against Rick Ross is better. This is for the true crown as King of The South. T.I. gave us countless hits and amazing albums such as King, Urban Legend, and Trap Muzik in the 2000s. As T.I. started to get into other ventures, Rick Ross ascended. His first 3 albums are good but 2010’s Teflon Don is where he took off and gave us iconic verses and one of the deepest rap catalogs ever. This battle might need 35 songs instead of 20.

4. Wale VS. J.Cole

Photo via Instagram: @realcoleworld

This one pits one of the most misunderstood artists ever(Wale) against one of the most toxic fan bases ever( J. Cole). The two artists are “friends”, this battle could ease the tensions social media believe they have. Plus this battle is closer than what people think. J Cole might have classics such as Friday Night Lights and 2014 Forest Hills Drive, but Wale can counter with The Album About Nothing, Summer on Sunset, and Ambition. Depending on the song placement, Wale could pull out the “upset”.

5. Missy Elliot VS. Busta Rhymes

Photo via Instagram: @missymisdemeanorelliott

We ending with 2 legends. The battle of the multi-million dollar video budgets. We need to get Missy vs Busta asap. This not for the kids, this is a nostalgic trip for those who miss the 90s. Busta’s 20 is going to be tough to beat with songs such as Dangerous, Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See, Break Ya Neck and features such as Scenario, Ante Up (Remix) and Flava in Your Ear(Remix). Missy’s catalog stacks up well too. She has songs with Aaliyah, hits such as Get Ur Freak On, One Minute Man, and Work ItThis Verzuz Battle would be more of a celebration of icons. Everyone loves Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes, so them giving us 2 hours of hits and history would be beautiful.

#FM Trends: “Port of Miami 2” brings Good Music and Controversy

Rick Ross Delivers on “Port of Miami 2”, but No Pusha T on Maybach Music VI

Port of Miami 2 had a lot of teases before it dropped. The whole rollout was centered around the Maybach Music VI track that would have had Pusha T and Lil Wayne on the same record. Ross went on social media and a press run speaking on bringing the two rappers together and ending the beef. The album came and we heard Rozay, Lil Wayne, and John Legend, but no Pusha T. Prez would like to shout out to the plugs who leaked the Pusha verse and Oh My what a verse it was.

What Prez Loved/Hated About “Port of Miami 2”

Loved: POM2″ had strong features from the likes of Gunplay, Summer Walker, DeJ Loaf, Nipsey Hussle, and Teyana Taylor to name a few.

Ross has an ear to play during any social setting. Turnpike Ike, Nobody’s Favorite, and Rich N***a Lifestyle are perfect for driving.

Act a Fool and Born to Kill are gym essentials for me.

Summer Reign and White Lines are in rotation at pool parties.

Ross gets all star production from the likes of Just Blaze, Justice League, Jake One and many more.

Hated: No Pusha T on “Maybach Music VI is like no macaroni and cheese for Thanksgiving dinner.

Minor complaint, but I would appreciate the singles more if I didn’t hear them before the album came out.

Final Grades on “Port of Miami 2”

I’ll give Ross a solid 8/10 on POM2. People will say 15 songs are too long. Others will dislike Act A Fool as the intro. Don’t listen to them, this is another All-Pro effort from Rick Ross. Appreciate the art and artist as Rozay grows from project to project. He will often team up with MMG (Meek Mill, Wale, and Gunplay). He will be open to work with younger acts( Summer Walker, Ball Greezy, YFN Lucci and A Boogie). He’ll even attempt to squash a beef for the benefit of good music.

#FM Trends: Rick Ross Has a Pusha T/Lil Wayne Collaboration on New Album

Rick Ross Teases a New Collaboration with Pusha T and Lil Wayne on “Port of Miami 2”

One of the most anticipated albums of the year might have an unexpected collaboration. On August 9th, Rick Ross will drop “Port of Miami 2”. Rozay went to Instagram to speak on a track with the 2. If you been hiding under a rock, Pusha T has beef with the team of Cash Money/Young Money. In another twist of fate, Rick Ross has had issues with Birdman( the Owner of Cash Money Records) and dissed him on the song, Idols Become Rivals, off his last album.

Lil Wayne vs. Pusha T

The Pusha T vs Cash Money beef is interesting. It dates back to 2006 when No Malice( Pusha T’s brother) came at Weezy for rocking Bape like Clipse allegedly. Lil Wayne drop the track “Ghoulish” at Pusha T after Pusha came at him and Drake on “23.1” in 2012. The beef was reignited in 2018 after Drake and Pusha T went at on wax and had sit-downs with Lebron(Drake) and the Joe Budden Podcast(Pusha T). If Weezy and Pusha are on “Maybach Music VI”, it would be their first collaboration since 2006 on The Game’s “It’s Okay(One Blood) Remix.” Ross wants the pair to bury the hatchet and hopes the song helps with that.

Pusha T has been Killing It on Collaborations

Recently, a J Cole or Pusha T feature has been deadly. Pusha T has been on fire lately on features. On Freddie Gibbs’ new project Bandanna, Pusha T stood out on a track with Freddie Gibbs and Killer Mike. Before that, he was featured on Benny The Butcher’s album. He was featured on “18 Wheeler” and stole the show. Pusha T also had heat on Goldlink’s album and YBN Cordae’s album. Ross didn’t tell them that they would be on a song together. Crafty move by Rozay since I think Pusha T would have went to another level with his verse.
