Future Debuts His New Album, ‘I Never Liked You,’ Featuring Kanye West and Drake

Future has released a new album titled I Never Liked You. Following up on 2020’s High Off Life, the album features guest appearances by Kanye West, Drake, Young Thug, Tems, EST Gee, Gunna, and Kodak Black. The new album is available below. Also available is the Rick Nyce-directed music video for Future’s West collaboration, “Keep It Burnin.”

I Never Liked You is Future’s ninth solo studio album. After the release of High Off Life, he and Lil Uzi Vert collaborated on Pluto x Baby Pluto. Also, he served as executive producer for Kanye West’s Donda 2, famously collaborated with Drake for the Certified Lover Boy song “Way 2 Sexy,” released the single “Worst Day,” made an appearance on Saturday Night Live with Gunna, and much more.

You can learn more about Future in The 200 Most Important Artists of Pitchfork’s First 25 Years and How Future Rewrote Rap in His Own Image.

High Off Life

High Off Life provides a powerful soundtrack of tortured hedonism illustrated with painterly details. This is a production with beautiful details and a sad melody. It consists of exotic cars painted in candy-colored hues, casually worn designer sandals, women treated as disposables, and drugs sold and consumed.

It is possible to find songs that sparkle like suitcases of diamonds and suitable pieces as soundtracks to crime dramas. Furthermore, you should select songs that will sound great when distorted to the level of basslines blaring from passing cars. The High Off Life album is better-paced and structured than most of Future’s recent releases. Except for the previously released singles interspersed with the other tracks under industry norms, it glides smoothly.

During interviews, Future described his previous album, The Wizrd, as a defining moment of his career. This sets the stage for his forthcoming project. Unfortunately, High Off Life lacks this significant shift, although we gain a few new ideas from it.

Kid Cudi Says He Will Not Work With Kanye West Again

Earlier today, Kid Cudi used his Twitter account to make it clear that he will not be working with Kanye West again in the future.

The rapper announced that the upcoming collaboration with Pusha T will be the last time fans will hear him alongside Ye, who also appears on the song.

Cudi tweeted:

“Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye.  I am not cool w that man.  He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye -Scott”

According to Cudi, the as-yet-unnamed song, recorded last year, before he and West had a public falling out

Kanye and Kid Cudi: Why did the friendship end?

The friendship between both artists started to deteriorate months ago because of Cudi’s friendship with Pete Davidson, who’s currently dating Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

Yes, apparently anyone who is Pete’s friend is automatically Ye’s enemy, sigh.

In February, West announced that Kid Cudi would not appear on his latest album ‘Donda 2’ through instagram.

“Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who… we all speak in Billie language now.”

Wait… Billie language? As we already know, Kanye ALSO took the opportunity to drop a direct dig at singer Billie Eilish after the artist allegedly offended Travis Scott during one of her concerts.

As expected, Kanye has not missed the opportunity to express his anger towards his friend’s betrayal.

On February 12th, Kanye shared on his Instagram a photo from Cudi’s birthday night back in 2019. The photo was edited to include a red cross over Davidson ‘s face.

Pop Base on Twitter: "Kanye West continues calling out Kid Cudi for being friends with Pete Davidson. “I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER”

The caption read:

“I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK  THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER”.

Now, both publication is currently deleted.

KID CUDI ANSWERS BACK!

Cudder, on the other hand, reply West’s post

Too bad I don’t wanna be on your album, you f–kin’ dinosaur hahaha” Cudi stated.  “Everyone knows I’ve been the best thing about your albums since I met you. Ima pray for you brother.”

Later, Cudi publicly accused West of flipping the scrip. The singer revealed that both artist sat down to discussed about “Donda 2”, but West shared his post to gain more influence— and along with it the credibility of his version of the facts.W

Jack Harlow Has A Release Date For New Album ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You’

With the release of his debut studio album, “That’s What They All Say“, whose release date was in December 2020, Jack Harlow is enjoying unprecedented success. The actor has been making appearances on red carpets and landed a new film contract a few weeks ago. However, Jack has set his sights on his sophomore project to keep this momentum alive.

Furthermore, Harlow recently spoke with Rolling Stone on his upcoming album, “Come Home The Kids Miss You“. The album’s release date is May 6. There isn’t much information about the album other than the first single is entitled “Nail Tech,” and the production is “the most distinctive to date.”

Nonetheless, according to Harlow, “Nail Tech” isn’t the most popular track on the album, “It’s probably my least favorite song on the album. But I know the effect it’s gonna have on people. I’m spitting, and there’s energy behind the beat. I have different tastes. I can’t believe people love to listen to ‘Tyler Herro’ on repeat and ‘What’s Poppin’ on repeat.”

Jack Harlow is Seeking to Become One of the Most Recognizable Figures of His Generation

As a result of his new album, the “What’s Poppin” rapper hopes to solidify himself as the face of his generation in the same manner as Eminem. Jack Harlow maintains that not enough members of his age claim to be the next generation, which must change.

“That’s what made Em so hard — he was in the dog pile,” says Harlow. “I want to be the face of my sh*t, like the face of my generation, for these next 10 years. We need more people in my generation that are trying to be the best, and you can’t do that with just ear candy, vibe records.”

 Harlow added,

“You got to come out swinging sometimes. . . . My new sh*t is much more serious. Right now, my message is letting muthaf***ers know I love hip-hop, and I’m one of the best in my generation. You can’t do that with nonchalant, like, ‘Eeey, I got the b***hes,’ in clever ways over and over again. I got to dig deeper this time.”

‘Alright’ Was Almost Left Off ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ Says Producer

Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” is one of the most iconic tracks on the rapper’s 2015 album “To Pimp A Butterfly.” The Grammy-award-winning song conveys that regardless of socioeconomic struggles, black people will collectively persevere. The song has become an anthem of hope since its inception. So it’s surprising to hear music producer Sounwave admit the song almost didn’t make the cut.

The reveal came about on Spotify podcast, The Big Hit Show. The Black Panther soundtrack producer explained that an executive from Sony played him a jaw-dropping beat made by Pharrell Williams.

“It was literally just the 808s and the keys, and Pharrell had the melody of ‘we gon’ be alright.’ And I was like, ‘Bro, what is this? Oh my goodness, I’m freaking out.’” said Sounwave.

He called Kendrick over to listen, and he reportedly fell in love with the beat as soon as he heard it. However, even though he liked the track, he didn’t think the song was musically cohesive with the rest of the album. Sounwave, determined to make it work, stepped in and added drums. They also worked with saxophonist Terrace Martin to add to the song. Thus, a classic was born.

Let’s Run The Numbers

“To Pimp A Butterfly” is known as one of the most prolific hip-hop albums of all time. It sold 340,000 albums its first week and ranked as Billboard’s 16th most popular album of 2015. It racked up over 9 million Spotify streams on its first day out. Furthermore, it marked the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper’s first No. 1 album in the UK. Last month, The Big Hit Show announced a five-part series dissecting the album. The series debuted on Feb. 16 with funk pioneer George Clinton and Rapsody as guest speakers.

As of now, the video for “Alright” has over 151 million views and over 340 million streams on Spotify. It scored Kendrick four Grammy nominations, of which he won two. The song won two BET Hip-Hop Awards in 2015, where he also performed the piece against the backdrop of a tattered American flag. The song has forever been cemented as an anthem for black justice and resolve.

YG & Moneybagg Yo in Tonight Show

YG and Moneybagg Yo have performed YG’s latest single, “Scared Money,” on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.” They were there to build up hype for YG’s upcoming album.

This is not the first time Moneybagg Yo went to “The Tonight Show.” He had come in April of last year as well.

The stage imitated the bank vault from the music video. However, the song was not complete. They did not have J. Cole with them for his guest verse of the rap.

“Scared Money” came out in February. It will be the first song in YG’s upcoming album, “Pray for Me.”

The album is to release later this year.

In an interview with Power 106, YG explained that the album will display the growth that he has had over Covid.

“The music is just gonna be my truth, as far as my life right now,” he explained. “It’s just the growth of me, my headspace, what I’m on in life. And I think the whole COVID pandemic shit, I hated it, but I also look at it as like this shit kinda helped me get to where I’m at mentally.”

The last full album that YG had released was “My Life 4Hunnid”. The album came out in October of 2020. The only other album he had released during Covid was a collaborative album with Mozzy called “Kommunity Service” in 2021. This will be the first album that has been purely his own thoughts since Covid began.

Up-and-Coming Rapper Yeat Promises Album “2 Alivë” Early Next Month

21-year old Yeat came out of nowhere in 2021. The rapper, from Portland Oregon, hit it big with “Gët Busy,” and he is looking to start 2022 off strong. In an Instagram story, Yeat revealed that his next album 2 Alivë is set to release at the start of the next month. There is “just one feature” left to complete. Fans of the young rapper simply can’t wait.

Yeat in 2021

The NYC rapper took an unconventional path to fame. Though largely unknown in 2020, the tracks he posted to Tik-Tok became wildly popular. This led to widespread recognition and a spot on the Billboard 200. “Up 2 Më,” which was released on September 10th, broke in at number 184 just last week. Yeat commented on his success in an interview with Our Generation Music, “It’s crazy because I thought I was good the whole time. I feel like that’s what kept me going. And it just kept growing more and more — now when I look back, it’s just like damn, I really did this”

Yeat worked hard all year to release two entire albums. He earned his spot on the Billboard and carved out a name for himself as the Soundcloud King. Yeat isn’t the only artist to buck the traditional industry since the pandemic hit. SZA broke into the top 10 of the Hot 100 almost by accident. The overwhelmingly positive reaction from her fans on Soundcloud prompted her to push it further. Meanwhile, India Arie calls the Industry as a whole “TRASH.” Perhaps we’ve entered the era of Soundcloud.

2 Alivë in 2022

Yeat was supposed to drop his album sometime in January. However, for an unknown reason, he pushed it back to February.

Earlier this week, he posted on his Instagram story in order to both explain the delay and generate hype for the album’s imminent release.

What could this mysterious last thing be? Fans speculate that it could be lyrics from Drake, and are ready to see Yeat hit Number 1.

Kid Cudi Hypes Upcoming Entergalatic Album

Kid Cudi went to Twitter on January 23 to build hype for his upcoming Netflix show and album, Entergalactic. He called it his “greatest work yet.”

The show has been in the works since 2019 and it originally had a 2020 release date. Due to COVID-19, however, it was pushed back to 2022. Entergalactic is being produced by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, with Cudi providing voice work but, little is currently known about the show. The only things that we know are that it’s an adult animated series and that it is about “a young man going on a journey to discover love”. There is also a teaser that shows the animation style and the setting of a bustling city. Both the album and the show are being released on the same day, which we don’t currently have a date for.

https://twitter.com/KidCudi/status/1438205681480441858

On Jan. 20, Kid Cudi also said he is going to turn over a new leaf. In another tweet, he referenced his Kids See Ghosts song “Reborn.” The next day, he wrote, “Magical things are happening in my life, I can feel the Lords hand on my shoulder. If u’ve been watchin me my whole career, theres so much more to see. More than u can possibly imagine. #keepmovinforward. Remember these words. Im comin to fuck the world up in the most lovely ways.”

Speculation on Entergalactic’s plot

If I were to speculate on what Entergalactic is going to be about, my guess is that it will be about an alien crashing on Earth. The person that finds the alien is going to be a depressed person voiced by Kid Cudi. The alien and the person will then fall in love while evading the government that is trying to capture it. The alien will also be here to see if humanity is ready to enter the galactic senate. In the show, as well as in the album, the depressed person learns to love himself.

I am most likely wrong. Cudi did say “Entergalactic will be something you’ve never experienced,” after all.

Curren$y Teases Collaboration with The Alchemist in “Half Moon Bay”

After closing out a full 2021, Curren$y is looking to start 2022 off strong. The New Orleans rapper disappointed fans by delaying his collaboration with The Alchemist, Half Moon Bay. However, the rapper is famous for keeping his cool and taking surprises in stride. Yesterday, he kept the hype up by releasing a sample from one of his new songs.

Spitta won’t leave us stranded

Curren$y calmly posted a small clip from an up-and-coming song, captioning it simply,

“Y’all ready for some Andretti and @alanthechemist shit?”

If the vocals and imagery seem familiar, don’t worry. It appears this is an extension of a preview Spitta released last year. In fact, the two clips line up perfectly: where this one ends, the older one begins.

This is how, despite leaving the new post unnamed, we are able to deduce it is a preview for Half Moon Bay. The album in question was expected to drop in December 2021, but was unexpectedly pushed to 2022 at the behest of The Alchemist

Suffice to say, Spitta fans are excited.

Things are looking up

Curren$y provided fans with an exciting 2021. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, he managed to keep the year full of new releases.

And he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Curren$y flooded his Instagram with images of him hard at work over the weekend. Featured prominently in the posts are Hit-Boy and The Game. It is unclear what exactly the three were working on, but needless to say it is exciting! And for one further step into conspiracy, it should be noted that both of those rappers were confirmed to hit the studio with Ye. Could these pictures be from the same session?

Could all four of these rapper be collaborating together? 2022 is going to be exciting!
