Despite canceling his show in Vancouver, Lil Baby opted to party in Vegas instead. Hours before his set at the Breakout Festival, the rapper issued a statement about the last-minute cancellation. “I have been going so hard these past few months without any breaks that it finally caught up with me,” he posted on Instagram. He added that his body completely shut down and will make it up to his Vancouver fans soon.

Hours later, TMZ Hip Hop received photos of the rapper in Vegas at the Zouk Nightclub with Travis Scott, DJ Drama and others. Canelo Alvarez was celebrating his victory over Gennady Golovkin. Baby might have needed a break from performing but his fans in Vancouver were not happy.

Lil Baby Fans Riot

Shortly after the Baby announced the canceled set, fans and festival goers did not take it lightly. Videos show angry fans lighting tents on fire while others toppled food stands and garbage dumpsters. Some fans destroyed TV monitors, leaving shattered glass everywhere. The rapper was the closing headliner for the two-day festival. Other acts included Cordae, Coi Leray, Quavo and Takeoff and Trippie Redd.

TMZ also caught up with the rapper on Tuesday on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles. The reporter had asked about the situation, but he dodged the question and focused on a fight that was happening in the surrounding area.

Shortly before his Breakout Festival set, he wrapped up a North American tour with Chris Brown, which ended in August in Las Vegas. With a new album coming later this year, lets hope that when he comes back to Vancouver, it will be worth the wait.

New Album

In June, Quality Control CEO says Lil Baby’s upcoming project will be an “album Of The Year 4 Sure.” So far this year, he has released “Detox” and “Right On.” He is also featured on “STAYIN ALIVE” with DJ Khaled & Drake. No word on a release date for the album.

PnB Rock ‘s Funeral Was Officially Held Yesterday

PnB Rock ‘s family, XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and his other loved ones came together for the late rapper’s funeral. The “Alone” MC, who passed away on September 12, was laid to rest at the Khadijah Alderman Funeral Home on 1924 W. Hunting Park Avenue. The service was ran in a Muslim custom. 

The Muslim custom in question is called Janazah. This practice involves the deceased person being buried 24 hours into their passing. For instance, when PnB’s mother heard of his passing, she demanded the medical examiner release his body to abide by Janazah. 

Unfortunately, the examiner refused, which led them to get into a heated argument. The fight was so intense that the police had to calm the situation. By Friday, his body was reportedly prepared to be released. 

Los Angeles officials also caused some trouble for the family in retrieving PnB Rock’s body.

His brother, PnB Meen, wrote via Instagram:

“We have been having trouble getting my brother back to Philadelphia. The state of Los Angeles claims they have some laws against us as Muslims. So now I have no clue when his Janazah is. It’s not right, yo. It’s goin on for a week. Prayers up. I got you, bro, and your daughters.”

Due to all the complications, his funeral happened a week later. The service sheet has a photo of PnB Rock with the phrase: “In Loving Memory of Rakim Allen, December 9, 1991 – September 12, 2022.” It also has a copy of the Janazah prayer.

PnB Rock, who died last week, was shot and killed at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles’ South Los Angeles restaurant. 

A Los Angeles Times rep spoke to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Captain Kelly Muniz that when the shooter entered the restaurant, he took out a firearm and demanded the rapper hand over his jewelry. 

Muniz explained, “He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot.”

The shooter hasn’t been identified and allegedly fled the restaurant in a getaway car. Police are currently investigating potential enemies and surveillance footage from inside Roscoe’s and near closeby businesses so they can find more clues about the shooter.

Offset Is Actively Trying To Work With Andre 3000

Andre 3000 is someone Offset would be very eager to work with, according to an interview the former Migos star gave Speedy Morman for GOAT Talk. He’s even sent Andre 3 different songs to collaborate on but also understands the former Outkast legend’s selectivity. Offset expressed, “I know you gotta like certain songs — he get on certain songs, he told me. So you gotta be selective with him, but I love his taste.” With that being said, fans would love to hear a collaboration as both rappers were key parts of the biggest rap groups since the 2000s.

 

Andre’s Role In Hip-Hop These Days

While it would be exciting for these two to work together, the chances are slimmer than one would hope. Offset is completely ready & wants to, but Andre 3000 is more invested in his endeavors right now. The Atlanta legend barely ever makes guest appearances & is one of few rappers to retire from the genre themselves. Older acts often phase out or fall off, but Andre chose to remove himself. Recently though, he did participate in narrating a Superbowl commercial for Squarespace earlier this year with Zendaya.

 

Offset’s Solo Career & Other Dream Collaborations

With his departure from the Migos, Offset is working hard & focused on developing his solo career these days. A new album is on the horizon & we’ve already seen him drop a few singles within the past few weeks. In the same video, Offset also says that he wants to work with tons of active veterans & legends today. In his own words, “I just want to work with people that inspire me. Hopefully I can work with Kendrick on his album. I’d love to work with Lil’ Baby, Tyler and JAY-Z. I respect them all.” Who do you wanna hear Offset do a song with on his album?

Future Sells His Publishing Catalog In A Deal Worth A “High Eight-Figure” Sum

Future has made a significant decision. Based on the circumstances that Influence Media Partners has identified, they acquired Future’s publishing catalog between 2004 and 2020.

There Is A Large Amount Of Music In The Future’s Discography

It is estimated that the artist’s work from those years comprises 612 titles. Those titles include collaborations with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna (“Selfish”), and the Weeknd, as well as Future’s own solo efforts, including “Mask Off.” The final deal appears to be worth a high eight-figure amount; a source has told Variety.

Before entrusting his songs to IMP, Future stated that he put 100 percent effort into his music. He also ensured they were in good hands before handing them over.

“I’m proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value,” the “Turn On the Lights” rapper added in a statement. “My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

Influence Media Partners

Influence Media Partners, a company specializing in acquiring publishing rights to the music, has spent $300 million as of February 2022. The company commissioned several songs from artists, including Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber.

IMP seems to have a high level of trust among artists. Many companies are capable of exploiting people for their money, but this one does not appear to be one of them.

Moreover, Warner Music Group and BlackRock received further funding in February. The additional funding came from IMP, which has been criticized for infringing on the competition. In March, Influence Media acquired the entire catalog of reggaeton heavyweight Tainy. The roster included songs by some of the best names in the genre, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Kali Uchis.

Future’s Hustle Has Inspired Other Rappers

Future’s enormous publishing catalog also results from the rapper’s relentless work ethic that has become a defining characteristic of the hip-hop genre. Moreover, rapper Toosii said he had the opportunity to witness it for the first time on Tuesday, Sep 19.

“I dont been in the studio with a lot of n*ggas but I don’t think nobody fw @future,” Toosii wrote on his Instagram Story. “I heard so many different flows and I’m talking all hits.”

Acknowledgment

Furthermore, Future has received recognition for his work. According to Rene McLean, an Influence Media partner and founding company advisor, the “PIE” rapper is one of their most significant cultural icons.

As well as praising him, he adds that Future has revolutionized the music industry in ways that no one has ever imagined and continues to serve as a blueprint for impact and success.

“It is rare to find someone who moves music and culture at the same speed with his distinct vocal and melodic style,” said Rene.

NBA superstar, Chris Paul, went out from his comfort zone by starting a new brand of plant-derived snacks. The Phoenix Suns point guard announced a new partnership with food delivery service GoPuff. 

The collaboration resulted in CP3’s new plant-based snack brand Good Eat’n. The company seeks to offer tasty plant food. 

Paul himself acknowledged the difficulty in finding quality vegan snacks. The legendary point guard and GoPuff hope their new brand remedies that particular problem. Some find it odd for Paul to engage in this business venture; however, those more aware of Paul’s personal life see it as a natural progression.

Chris Paul’s Transformation

The twelve-time NBA all-star transitioned to a plant-based diet in 2019. The change stemmed from Paul’s viewing of the Netflix documentary “The Game Changers.” The film interviewed several athletes who credited their prolonged success to their plant-based diets. Paul, aged 34 at the time, neared the age that many other NBA players began to decline in performance or retire altogether. However, following his new dietary change, Paul resurged into basketball prominence.

Since then, he went to the NBA finals with the Suns, made several All-Star game selections, and made it onto two All-NBA Second Teams. Such a performance increase led Paul to initially become an advocate for the benefits of plant-based diets. Now, Paul aims to use this new brand to bring the benefits of that diet to the mass market of America.

Athletes Turned Businessmen

Paul’s announcement also follows the new trend of entrepreneurial superstar athletes. Recently athletes in all sports began to dip their toes into other realms as a potential money-making plan. Some, like Chris Paul’s fellow NBA stars, Lebron James, even ventured into sports ownership. Others also follow the simple and more common route of endorsement deals. However, if successful, Chris Paul’s new attempt could also inspire others to enter the snack industry.

Lil Yachty Stars in New Movie, The System

2022 seems to be a big year for Lil Yachty, as he will have a role in an upcoming movie directed by Dallas Jackson. Titled “The System”, the movie will be in theaters on October 28th and available for streaming the following week on November 4th. Starring alongside Lil Yachty is Tyrese Gibson, Jeremy Piven, and Terrence Howard with Gibson also being a producer.

The System

Tyrese plays a retired marine turned police officer.  Jeremy Piven, best known for his role in the hit series Entourage, will play a corrupt warden that is the head of a private prison. Legendary actor Terrence Howard plays an inmate at the prison. As far as we know Lil Yachty won’t be portraying someone that is too far from his actual self. Lil Yachty is always on camera smiling, laughing, and having a good time. So, ironically in this film his name is Joker, which suits the Atlanta rapper perfectly. In the film Joker runs an underground fight ring in the prison.

Lil Yachty’s Other Gigs

Lil Yachty has been busy behind the screen as of late. A few weeks ago, a trailer for a movie regarding battle rap surfaced the internet. The movie is titled “On The Come Up” based on a book by Angie Thomas. The book is a New York Times best seller. Thomas is best known for her debut book, “The Hate U Give” that is now an award-winning film. Now, this movie is about a young girl who is a battle rapper that is trying to follow her father’s footsteps after his life was taken due to gang violence.

Lil Yachty is set to be in this production along with legendary rapper Method Man. Sanaa Lathan directed this film as it is her directorial debut. We are not sure what role she gives Lil Yachty, but we’re interested to see how he does. “On The Come Up” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this year and will be available to watch from home on the Paramount+ streaming service, Friday September 23rd.

PnB Rock’s Murder Investigation Focusing On Past Beefs

PnB Rock’s murder investigation is now shifting focus to his past beefs. According to TMZ, police are under the impression that the Philly rapper’s killing may not have been random. Instead, it may have been deliberately planned by Rock’s enemies.

The focus shifts in PnB Rock’s death

PnB Rock’s investigation is currently under the direction of the LAPD, with detectives digging into his personal life. The main focus is on those who Rock may have butted heads with, leading to potential beefs. Investigators are also interested in his connections to Atlanta, where he spent quite a bit of time. The “Selfish” artist’s lyrics have also been looked at to see if he referenced any enemies.

As everyone knows, PnB Rock was sharing a meal with his girlfriend at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in LA last Monday when he was attacked and killed. Police initially thought it was a robbery gone wrong, with the killers being random thieves who came across the rapper’s location on social media. But due to the deliberate nature of the crime, the LAPD believe that the killing may be part of a vendetta.

Leads in the investigation

The police are also trying to identify the suspects and/or the getaway car. Per TMZ, they are trying to track it down through camera feeds. But even with the assistance of tips, it’s taking time to see which leads are legit.

Police have also dismissed the idea that Rock’s girlfriend, Steph, had anything to do with his murder. Outraged fans put forth the idea that she posted their location on purpose to set Rock up. However, she isn’t believed to have been involved with the crime in any way.

PnB Rock’s body is set to be released to his family after a drawn out process. His mother did not want an autopsy performed on religious grounds, but under the law, one had to be performed.

Roblox launches New Spotify Island “Planet Hip-Hop” for hip-hop Consumers!

Spotify released its virtual Island on Roblox about four months ago, making it the first music streaming platform to have spot in the game. Today, September 21st, Spotify launches Planet Hip-Hop, a new space-themed destination on Roblox. Planet Hip-Hop is live now in Roblox, and the goal is to give the younger generation of hip-hop fans a new way to connect with their favorite artists.

Planet Hip-Hop will include an abundance of exciting features!

According to TechCrunch, the new destination features a bright cityscape on top of an upside-down silver pyramid. The planet is surrounded by red planet rings along with floating meteors, all while giving a futuristic look. When users explore Planet Hip-Hop, they are able to collect exclusive virtual merchandise. They can also use the “Speed Shop” to customize vehicles, virtually dance, and create beats powered by Soundtrap, and more.

Senior Art Director at Spotify, Steven Conaway, told press, “We wanted to create a space inspired by the newest era of hip hop, exploring how the current generation of artists and fans are redefining what the genre looks like and sounds like.” He continued that the younger generation of hip-hop artists are known to have an “internet tech sound.” Conaway also referenced young artists like Doechii, Yeat, and Trippie Redd, who are all in their early 20s.

In Planet Hip-Hop, players will be able to virtually walk on buildings and float around as it is intended to be a low-gravity environment. They are also able to swim with alligators, hop on lily pads, and dive underwater. As seen in Spotify Island’s K-pop-themed world, K-Park, there are many new elements and Easter eggs. Just like K-Park, users must enter an underground portal to visit an artist’s fan experience. Edward Yeung, the Associate Creative Director at Spotify says players will also be able to drive around the planet’s rings.

Freddie Gibbs is dropping his new album “$oul $old $eparately” on Friday, Sep 30. Yesterday, Gibbs shared the 14-song tracklist for the highly anticipated 2022 release. There are also tons of big-name stars & talents that we see the Indiana rapper collaborate with on this project.

Pusha T, Offset, Anderson.Paak, Rick Ross, Scarface, DJ Paul, Raekwon, Musiq Soulchild & Kelly price appear in the credits of the tracklist. Many of these names are expected on a Freddie album, but it’ll be intriguing to hear what he’ll do with Offset & Anderson.Paak. So far, we’ve only listened to the official single “Too Much,” featuring Memphis artist Moneybagg Yo.

The Currents Beef In His Career Presently

Much coverage around Freddie Gibbs has recently been surrounded by his online back & forths with Buffalo rapper Benny the Butcher. Unfortunately, their feud has gone as far as entering real-world results/incidents. 

A few months ago, Freddie ended up in an altercation with a large group of men (allegedly tied to Benny) at a restaurant in Buffalo, NY. Before & outside of this event, both artists have hurled physical threats toward each other for a while now. Even a Funk Flex freestyle came out today, September 20th, where Freddie disses Benny (and DJ Akademiks).

The Versatility Of Freddie Gibbs

One expectation fans have for Freddie is to display his complete versatility in 2022. Obviously, he’s primarily famous for his lyrical collaborative tapes with heavy involvement of samples. However, Freddie has always been an artist with tons of hard bangers. Even this album’s single “Too Much” with Moneybagg Yo sounds like a certified hit that’s true to his style/character.

Dr. Kogan Gets Sued By 50 Cent For Penis Enlargement Procedure Rumors

50 Cent is suing the doctor’s office. The artist is taking legal action against Perfection Plastic Surgery & MedSpa for circulating a photo of him with Dr. Kogan and rumors that “The Massacre” album author has gotten penis enlargement surgery.

An Unusual Payment Form

According to TMZ, 50 Cent did go to Perfection Plastic Surgery & MedSpa to receive an undisclosed procedure.

The lawyer of Dr. Kogan also claims that an agreement was formed on how the “This Is 50” artist would pay for the services he received. Allegedly, 50 Cent would pay for the services he received by taking a picture with Ms. Kogan that she was then supposedly free to post on her personal and business social media accounts. The lawyer also alleged that 50 Cent knew that Dr. Kogan posted the pictures, and a problem only arose after a blog brought the image up.

Reportedly, 50 Cent says that a simple photo spreads false information about him. He claims that the picture also suggests that he had penile enlargement surgery. 50 denies this.

Fifty wants the circulation of the photo of him and Dr. Kogan to stop. He also believes Dr. Kogan uses the image to promote her business by falsely saying he underwent enlargement surgery.

According to TMZ, 50 Cent wants them to stop sharing the photo, saying it’s damaging his professional and personal reputation.

50 Cent wants the courts to step in to help in the matter. The entertainer wants Dr. Kogan and her company to stop saying he is a client of theirs. Fifty also wants Dr. Kogan to stop posting the picture to her personal and business social media accounts. Allegedly, 50 Cent is also seeking money from Dr. Kogan.

Both parties are sticking to their perspectives on the matter. Everyone involved believes that they are right and are not backing down.
